The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions.
The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

Morning allSmile Yes Ali that ex. is designed to massage yr kidneys and adrenals; it's amazing actually 'cos my eyes seem darker and bluer IFYSWIM after doing it for a while !!I hope it'll help with detoxing you after those SXXX creme eggs!! I can't stand 'em!! It may help to put you off if you think of them broken and stuck all over in dirty human hair? a la P.M. Grin It's not even Easter yet!!!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/03/2012 09:22

Morning everyone :)

BBB I love 'Perch of Pride' Grin And I am in awe of your Creme Egg Resistance.

Solo I had the same last night. We had a chocolate pudding thing, really yummy - but it totally lost flavour and was gross from about halfway through. I should have stopped eating but I didn't, almost because I couldn't believe what was happening.
DH is here today so I'm going to listen to the CD at least once and try and get back on track. Although I have gained no weight this week, which is a big surprise.

Phee - thanks, it is a big relief. We've been talking about DH going freelance for a couple of years and finally it has happened and is real rather than the conversations being 'one day when we do X'.

KinkyDorito · 03/03/2012 12:01

Ali Huge, huge, huge congratulations on the invoice!!! Yey!! I wanted to give you a daffodil, but they've gone again now St David's Day is over. Gah! Missed opportunity!

Grin Grin Grin I think somebody oiled my Perch of Pride. I keep climbing onto it, and slipping straight back off again.

Solo I've been binge eating all week this week Sad. No exercise either...

until this morning! I am now trying to claw my way back from the 3 big takeaways in a week. And the chocolate. Just because I am back at work and knackered does not mean I can let it all go. It was weird: got lowest weight and then went totally off track.

But I am still here, and I am starting again. Onwards Smile

ppeatfruit · 03/03/2012 13:12

yes Ali congrats !! And Kinks you just get back on that perch girl and with Monsieur sexy voice's helping you'll be back on the P.M. bandwagon no probs. I saw that daffodil too late for my Mar.1 post as well! y'know here they don't sell daffs in the shops it's all hothouse expensive dutch flowers and my daffs aren't out in the garden yet! I MISS THEM Sad

BigBoobiedBertha · 03/03/2012 13:20

Who is Monsieur Sexy Voice and wouldn't Kinky be better off listening to PMcK? Wink

Still on the Perch of Pride re the Creme Eggs but had too many Pistachio nuts last night....... and then wind. Blush

ppeatfruit · 03/03/2012 13:33

BBB 'e is of course P.Mk cos' along with everything else (well maybe his bald spot isn't such a turn on! Grin) his voice is sexy don't you think?

BigBoobiedBertha · 03/03/2012 14:16

Sadly no I don't think. I would probably have reached goal weight about 5 years ago if his voice had been sexy but unfortunately, one listen and I was put off listening again for 5 yrs. I only listen now safe in the knowledge that I will be unconscious and not hear most of it. Grin

Solo · 03/03/2012 14:42

PMK not sexy Shock well, he is to me!!! Grin

I haven't gained weight either ~ big surprise there!!! but it kind of makes me feel like 'Ok, so if you'd not lost control, you could've actually lost weight!' so if I can get my head round that, I may actually go forward!

And I cannot find my 5 disc set or the single disc either! I remember putting them away, but they aren't where I thought I'd put them. I resorted to you tube to have a bit of a PMK fix boost!

Keep up the good work ladies :) catch you later!

No his voice isn't sexy. The mid-Atlantic drawl is not one of my favourites Grin

Looks like we're on our own Solo! Grin I think he lives in the States doesn't he? which would excuse the very unobtrusive IMO accent; not like some mid-atlantic drawls Grin

CheesyWellingtons · 03/03/2012 17:04

I haven't got round to listening to the CDs, but I have read most of the book and watched the DVD. I really like his approach.

Things like Slimming World don't work for me because I don't get that hungry these days (unless I have done a lot at the gym) and my metabolism seems very low - so I don't want unlimited food and lots of baked potatoes without butter. I just want nice food when I want it and don't mind eating healthily the rest of the time.

My scales have been stuck on the same weight for months now, but they shifted a teeny tiny bit this morning. That sounds really minor, but I was beginning to think there was something wrong with the scales, as no matter what I did, they didn't move.

nbee84 · 03/03/2012 19:17

Does anyone else jump when he says 'You can trust yourself' Grin

His voice all of a sudden goes a bit louder and forceful!

spendthrift · 03/03/2012 20:38

I decided not to.look at the scales but focus on the behaviours. A weak week ifyswim but, major triumph for me, connecting with when i am full and actually managed to leave food on plate today at lunch.

Will try to build on that next week.

How do you visualise yourself? Who would you like to look like?

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 04/03/2012 09:43

spendy it sounds like you're moving in the right direction!
I try to visualise me! But slimmer, more athletic. If I'm doing the positive comments over myself thing, I think.of my friend who is a dance teacher. She's a size 10 ish, she's graceful and elegant but mostly, she just seems comfortable in her own skin.
I've decided how Pauling is different to.diets...they focus on what you eat, but with Pauling it's not what you eat, but how you eat it!

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2012 12:57

spendy I'm very pleased to say that I look like to my visualised celeb. now who's Helen Mirren but I didn't have THAT much to lose to start with!

Phee you're right about the P.M. way of eating and it can apply to any diet such as my blood type I'll be doing P.M. forever I think Grin

Oh morning everyone Smile!

MrsOlf · 04/03/2012 13:18

Hello all, can I join you? I have 10lbs to lost that I never manage to shift.
Has anyone used the Paul McKenna app? Is it any good? Or is the CD better?
Thanks for your help.

ppeatfruit · 04/03/2012 13:30

Duh that post was a crap wasn't it? i look like (not I look like to Blush) It's afternoon as well isn't it? DH was fiddling with the technolgy this a.m.

BTW did anyone see P.M. on Jeremy Clarkson yesterday afternoon? I tell you what DH was impressed by his powers!! i didn't realise how powerful his hypnosis is.! Shock

Solo · 04/03/2012 14:16

Oooh! pp what happened? (I missed him) .

MrsOlf step right in! you are in the right place :) welcome!! I personally don't know about the app, but the cd's are great. That 10lbs will leave you, that's for sure.

OP posts:
PhoenixFromTheFlames · 04/03/2012 15:34

Welcome MrsOlf! Yes this system works. Personally I'd say you can get the book from Amazon for only a couple of quid more than the app...but then I've not really looked at the app!
A miracle has occurred today! I really wanted McDonald's for lunch so off we went. I ate consciously...I couldn't finish the burger and I only ate a third of the chips Shock ! Honestly, I couldn't believe how much I'd left. I'm starting to wonder if I could ever go back to my old habits now, it seems so ingrained!
I too missed Paul on the telly. Was it good then?

MrsOlf · 04/03/2012 18:43

I think I'll give it a try. I've a night time flight with 2 small DCs on my own, so the relaxation will be good if nothing else!! :-)

sanguinechompa · 04/03/2012 21:21

Hello. I'm not a regular on this thread so hope you don't mind me butting in - but do you mind if I ask a quick question?

I recently bought the Paul Mckenna weight loss pb and cd and found it quite convincing and think that it could really help me if I was young, free and single.

But do you all find it compatible with family life?

I only have one dc but my dh is obsessed with food and cooking and meal times are v. important to him. Not trying to shift blame here - I'm fully responsible for what I shove down my own gullet Grin - but there is no avoiding food in our house and I have the willpower of a slug. And then there's having to cook regular meals for dd who is the lean and hungry sort ... So how do you all accommodate eating what you want, when you are hungry in the context of family life??? (Genuinely interested, not being snippy)

Any tips/advice gratefully received!

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 04/03/2012 21:28

I think it goes quite well with family life. You only eat if you're hungry. Get into the mindset of why would a person eat if they weren't hungry? Like it's the most obvious thing in the world.

I think people take the 'eat what you want' thing to extremes. You don't have to go out and get caviar if there's none in the house and it's not convenient...it just means don't eat shite cardboard-tasting diet food cos you feel you have to.

Also, you don't have to have a full meal when you're hungry. If you know you'll be sitting down with the family at 6pm and you're hungry at 4pm, you don't have to have a three-course meal...just eat something to take the edge off and keep you going until the meal.

sanguinechompa · 04/03/2012 21:32

Thanks Mychilddoesn'tneedsleep advice much appreciated. But I am more worried about sitting down to meals when I am NOT hungry. I don't want us to become the sort of family who all eat different things at different times - I want to set a good example for dd. (Not that I am the greatest role model at the moment being overweight but hope yswim)
