The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions.
The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

Hello!! pp have I got any what? Hmm

This morning, I was walking from the school to the car and I actually felt slimmer! really nice :) and then a friend noticed I'd lost more weight Grin

For lunch today, I had a mackerel fillet and about 8 small beetroots in vinegar! yum!!

OP posts:
KinkyDorito · 29/02/2012 16:05

Solo I have solved the mystery. PMK is brainwashing us to eat beetroot! I cannot stop eating the bloody stuff. It's come out of nowhere. And now you too...

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 29/02/2012 22:23

But I loved it and have gone off beetroot since Pauling. Did run 7k tonight though :) and am getting faster...
Awesome you're feeling good solo.
I opted out of the app due to the price!

Solo · 29/02/2012 23:38

I've always loved beetroot and on occasion I will buy a punnet to scoff just for me!

But ladies, I have had a self sabotage moment/day blip. Today, I have been hungry all day long. I ate my usual small breakfast, had a hot cross bun with a friend, had my lunch as mentioned before...had a fake twix which was horribly sweet, had piri piri chicken with mashed potatoes (left some on the plate), then when I got home, I hid from the kids and deliberately ate more than a two person portion of chunky chocolate trifle thing. This left a horrid taste in my mouth and I feel thoroughly ashamed sick. WHY did I do that after a great morning?!!

Do you.think you were emotional eating solo? Is something bothering you?

KinkyDorito · 01/03/2012 07:09

Solo I've been like that for days, and have put 2lbs back on. It's an arse. I do hope that if something is bothering you, you manage to overcome it soon. Start again today. Sending love Smile.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/03/2012 07:27

I've had a bit of a wobble this last couple of days too. I haven't listened to the CD for about 2 weeks, just not had a chance.

Need to refocus today.

Solo · 01/03/2012 09:23

Phee everything is bothering me! I have many problems to tell the truth and I don't know where to start with most of them so it could be emotional.
Kinky I always feel guilty moaning about my lot when I think about yours... :(
Ali I haven't listened for a very long time ~ about 6 months I think. I must do so though.

This morning, I'm not hungry yet so haven't had breakfast yet. Now this is good because I have never done that before; I always have breakfast because it's breakfast time! so that's guilt a breakthrough :)

Wishing you all a good day ~ Happy March everyone!

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 01/03/2012 09:23

Good St Davids and first day of March everybody!!!!! Smile C'mon Solo KinksAli BE KIND TO YOURSELVES !!!!! REMEMBER WE CAN START AGAIN TOMORROW (or today! Smile Grin

ppeatfruit · 01/03/2012 09:27

We cross posted Solo!! I made a mess of mine sorry all!!

Solo · 01/03/2012 09:34

Yes, I did read that, but caught the wrong end of the stick. I do have a slow cook recipe book actually! signed by Antony Worrell Thompson no less!! Grin

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/03/2012 10:05

Solo - you mustn't feel ashamed.
I sometimes feel that reading your posts, or Kinky's - or anyone's in fact!! - that my problems are minor and I shouldn't moan and so on. But the truth is that we all have our own crosses to bear, and the fact that someone else's might be bigger and heavier doesn't actually help us to carry our own.

I am really not hungry this morning, so I've just had a cup of tea. And I did some stretches and muffin busters before I showered which I find puts me in a better frame of mind.

crusty - I have a good tip for a slow-cook recipe, and v.cheap as well. If you google 'John Torode braised shin of beef with parsnip puree' you will find a fab recipe. There are several things he puts in that I leave out - the star anis (sp?) and so on, but the basic recipe and method is very good and results in a delicious meal. If I need to do a cheap Sunday lunch rather than a roast then I often use this recipe and do it with roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage etc.

Solo · 01/03/2012 10:17

I know Ali but it's just the way I am I suppose and you too by the way. I guess that's what makes us who we are.

Hungry!! time for breakfast Grin then I must do some housework.

arfur · 01/03/2012 10:20

Ooh something in the air methinks - I had a shite terrible day yesterday of constant eating when not hungry. My two weekly weigh-in was today (coincidence Hmm) and I have lost two pounds since starting so not amazing but still down so onwards and downwards! Been running/walking this morning and am not eating till Im hungry as can still feel all the junk in my tummy from yesterday. Chins up everyone I know we CAN do it! x

KinkyDorito · 01/03/2012 18:13

I totally agree with this. Smile

My weigh in tomorrow. This is bad because it will be up, but good because I think it gives me a fresh start. (I'm writing that knowing full well I am feeling grotty and sorry for myself as think I have a throat infection and, don't ask, an infected hand and couldn't get into Drs today. Work has nearly finished me off: 4 full-on lessons taught and I feel like I've been run over. Then I've got a night out on Saturday and I never go out, so I'm bloody determined to go regardless of being ill. Hide the chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!)

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 01/03/2012 19:24

Chins up ladies. I've concluded life is not easy and certainly not fair. I just try to see the positives and blessings that's do have..easier some days than others! Good news on a personal level from me, my house repairs are underway for those who are new my house caught fire before Christmas leaving a lot of damage I have no kitchen, kitchen ceiling or walls or living room ceiling! All walls are stripped ready for decorating. Expecting to be home in about 4 weeks Grin hooray!
On a Pauling note, aside from some emotional chocolate eating today I am doing ok...gt weighed and measured at the gym today. Stood on the scales in trepidation, not able to see....I've lost 3lb this month! That brings my total to 12lb in two months which I'm delighted with! I'm now the lightest I've been in 2 1/2 years (since I joined my gym and started getting weighed regularly). They measure you inches wise and I'm now 20 inches smaller too! I'm definitely sticking with the Pauling - I'm not deprived, I'm motivated to exercise and I'm getting slimmer Grin

ppeatfruit · 02/03/2012 08:13

Morning all Smile Hey i keep meaning to say I've been doing another exercise from the acupressure book and it gives you more energy and makes you feel happier and seems to help the weight drop as well.;-

Sitting or standing 1. bend forwards a little
2. Warm yr hands and place them on the small of yr back
3.count to 10 and then massage gently for 10.

Do this 3 times in the morning and evening you could also gently 'pummel' in the same place.

Kinky you're very generous about other's problems!! The above exercise would be good for yr DD plus the 'follow the lower rib cage' massage.I'll give it to you if you haven't got the book.

ppeatfruit · 02/03/2012 08:16

P.S.Sorry the exercise starts leaning forward slightly but with a straight back.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 02/03/2012 10:21

ppeat I just tried that, very relaxing actually but it made me need to wee! Grin

Yesterday went brilliantly until it came to post-dinner. I was still a bit hungry and really fancied something sweet. DH made me nutella on toast, but a whole plateful! Did I throw it out, no, I ate the lot and then felt yucky afterwards. Hmm

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 02/03/2012 16:18

My name is Alibaba and I love Creme Eggs. Blush

I have eaten 3

Blush
arfur · 02/03/2012 17:21

alibaba thats ok alibaba you are safe here, you are amongst friends, there is no shame in loving creme eggs, its perfectly natural, after all, I, myself, purchased a box of 12 today in Waitrose Grin I am pretty confident that even the all powerful mind trickery master himself is powerless against them Wink

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 02/03/2012 20:49

Thanks arfur Grin

I felt dreadful earlier when I came crashing down off the sugar high, absolutely dreadful!

DH and I have opened a bottle of bubbles this evening, first invoice for the new company paid and in the bank Grin

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 02/03/2012 21:26

Hooray to financial blessings ali! Also it's good that you recognised the impact on your body/sugar levels. It's not a mistake, it's a learning curve! I too have a creme egg addiction. DH bought me three on Wednesday night. I felt very restrained, only had the last one just now!

BigBoobiedBertha · 02/03/2012 22:58

Evening all.

I too love Creme Eggs but as they are banned for the duration I am quite happy to leave them in the drawer. Shock

Blush

Had an alright sort of a week although I didn't feel well for some of it and that helped with the eating. I had such a whooping headache all day on Wednesday that I couldn't face any tea and ended up eating only a couple of slices of toast and jam later in the evening when the pain killers finally kicked in. DH has hardly been in this week as he has been out rehearsing for his choral soc thingy tomorrow so it has all been a bit full on and I haven't sat down in the evening until after 10pm which has also helped get me over the dodgy time for snacking. Perhaps I should send DH out every night but on balance I think I would rather he stayed home and loaded the dishwasher after tea as usual. Amazing how much difference that extra job makes and I have hands like a navvy now!

Sounds like we have all had an up and down kind of week but as Phoenix says that's life isn't it? We mustn't let it us get us down. On balance we are all going in the right direction so well done ladies! Smile

Have a good weekend!

Solo · 03/03/2012 00:26

Hello!

I have had a munchies kind of few days :( feeling like aunty is going to visit, but she didn't arrive last month, so not really sure, I just have the food cravings that I usually get beforehand :(. Tonight we had a beef casserole and after a while I was still hungry, so we had a ground rice pudding...I had seconds! that's how bad I felt...then I just felt sick. This sick feeling after overeating is a new thing in my life and I do know the reason for it, so perhaps it's a learning curve too.

See you all soon :)
