The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions.
The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

pp can you share the slow cooker, cheap cuts of meat recipes with me too?! That sounds right up my street! :)

Solo · 27/02/2012 14:14

Sounds like the perfect solution crusty Grin

Not a brilliant start to the week with a croissant for breakfast but at least I am only starting to eat when hungry.

But I too find the empty plate really really hard.

Ifancyanewname · 27/02/2012 16:41

Hello all, I have been directed over here by a lovely lady who was kind enough to reply to a thread I started....so how does it all work then? I am well impressed that it works for over 71% of people! wow

BigBoobiedBertha · 27/02/2012 16:48

Hello all.

Sounds like everybody is doing OK.

Alibaba - glad you had a good weekend. Nice to get a of male attention too I should imagine. Grin Good memories to help on the bad days too, to remind you it is all worth it.

Spendthrift - there is nothing wrong with a croissant! You ate what you wanted when you were hungry and stopped when you had had enough. You followed the rules. That is the joy of PMcK - there is not 'bad' food because you only ever have anything in moderation.

I'm doing OK. This giving things up for Lent thing I am doing is really helping. There is no thinking about things or being tempted. I just can't have it. Thankfully it isn't like a diet because it is only a handful of things but they are things I have trouble with so anything that helps with willpower is good.

Have a good week ladies. Smile

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 27/02/2012 17:37

Spendthrift there is nothing wrong with croissant - if you were hungry, enjoyed it and ate it mindfully then perfect :)

I ate too much lunch, but haven't had a thing since and I normally need something around 5pm.

My next interim goal is to have lost another 5lbs by the end of March when we are having a naming party to formally introduce DS2 to our family and close friends. That will have me well on the way to the stone I want to have lost before I am bridesmaid for my cousin in May.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 27/02/2012 18:02

Hello all.
Right firstly, kinky, stop beating yourself up love. Take the scales reading from yesterday. Start again from this moment. I suspect you've living with high stress levels for so long it's made you depressed. Have you had any counselling support? I suspect you need somewhere to off load and work out how you move forward in life.
Welcome to Ineed. It's what it says on the tin the start of the thread. You follow the rules, read the book, listen to the cd and watch the weight fall off as you feel motivated to exercise! You can get the book on Amazon, if you chose to do it, the best choice is the colour book with the dvd.
For lent, I gave up dieting! So far it's going great Grin

KinkyDorito · 27/02/2012 19:07

Thanks phee and everyone else for your kind words. I did start seeing a counsellor but had to stop as it was difficult to keep appointments (DD was in and out of hospital so much before Christmas). When I returned to work they gave me a number for a phone service they pay into. I was going to try them tonight, after reading your post, but I have left the number at work Blush. I get worn out by the continual wave of crap that seems to come my way. Today, things have got worse again as I was just getting back into my job (on 75% of hours this week, FT next week) and now I've had to stop as when I picked up DS this afternoon, low and behold, he has bloody chicken pox. Thankfully DD still has evidence of antibodies in her blood, otherwise she'd be in hospital for IV antibiotics. Still, I have a poorly little guy, and we'd just started toilet training too! Could you write it? I doubt it. I'm going to be watching DD like a hawk now, just in case she picks anything up. She might have antibodies, but still got shingles not long ago when loads of the cancer kids seemed to have picked it up. She had to take lots of antibiotics then, but thankfully didn't have to stay in hospital for them.

Endless, endless crap.

And, once again, I have overeaten at teatime; I have eaten quickly; I have eaten effing maltesers before I even remembered I'm off chocolate for Lent. If there is a God, I'm certainly not scoring any points with Him/Her at the moment.

HeyNonnyNo · 27/02/2012 19:51

Oh kinky, you poor sausage. Have some Thanks and take care of yourself.

Not doing too badly at the moment. Scales showed 9st something for first time in well over 18 months. Did have a close shave with a hot cross bun today, but it was a partial victory. (I didn't eat 3!) Time to listen to the cd is hard to come by, so yesterday I multitasked and dug the allotment listening to Mr Mk. I quite like actually hearing what he says, although some of it sounds complete balderdash to the wakeful cynical ear.

Tomorrow I'm baking a 70th come sudden engagement cake for 70 people for my fil, and some yummy foccacia for my nct girls. Good thing is, I can't eat any because it is all for other people!

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 27/02/2012 23:30

Hi I fancyannewname. This thread moves pretty fast, so try not to feel ignored if people don't seem to reply to your posts. I'd recommend getting the book (I agree, the colour one is more user-friendly, and comes with a 90 day journal) as soon as you can. It can be read in a day, and the hypnosis CD that comes with it is very good. You just find yourself wanting to drink more water, eat less, exercise more and starting to feel better about your body.

Let us know how you get on. Smile

Solo · 27/02/2012 23:54

Welcome Ifancy you have come to the right place if you want to lose weight without going on a diet! :) and you don't have to exercise if that's not your thing either! I don't and I'm more than 2st down :)

Kinky you really are too hard on yourself :(

Everyone else, keep up the good work.

Solo just saw what you wrote to me yesterday morning. I must have missed it. Thanks

Sat with a very miserable small boy who will not let me put lotion on him. They are still emerging at the minute. I'd forgotten how nasty chicken pox is. So, a day of "snuggles and jigsaws": his words.

KinkyDorito · 28/02/2012 08:48

Hello Ifancy! Sorry, I was all caught up in my own drama again. It really is a great method and certainly worth a look. MyChild is spot on. Welcome Smile.

ppeatfruit · 28/02/2012 09:34

Hello everyone and welcome to Newbies You've reached the BEST way of eating there is!! Smile But BBB it's interesting that we tend to need things to be banned e.g. Lent. Also my eating plan.

kinky I remember our 3 having the chicken pox and telling our eldest DD not to scratch which she dutifully didn't do though she's still got a scar above her eye 24 years later Shock !!

crustyonion · 28/02/2012 13:25

First listen of the CD last night. Not sure about the voice... weird and throaty schmoozer voice. But if it works, I'll put up with it. And, whether this is coincidence or not, today at lunch I ate slowly with my eyes shut and got a distinct "that's enough" feeling for the first time and my next mouthful had no flavour. I had far less than I would normally have crammed down me.

I'll definitely be listening again this evening!

Solo · 28/02/2012 13:58

Yay!!! crusty!! now watch the lbs fall off!

OP posts:
PhoenixFromTheFlames · 28/02/2012 14:57

Great start crusty. I find that with his voice, we joke about that's right phrase...but soon you just zone out and stop concentrating on it.

KinkyDorito · 28/02/2012 17:12

We love PMK sexy voice...

Hmm
usingapseudonym · 28/02/2012 18:35

The first time I listened to it I think I was semi-asleep and found it all a bit trippy! I didn't like his voice at all. Now I'm getting used to it.... maybe there's some subliminal suggestion that we all like him!?

nbee84 · 28/02/2012 20:09

Well, I'm 6 days in now and not quite sure how well it is or isn't going. I'm listening to the cd daily and don't seem to be able to relax fully and 'drift' away with it - not helped by a tickly cough that I have at the moment.

I am eating less by listening to my body and eating only when hungry, but am struggling to know if I am hungry or not. I'm eating very little between meals but wonder if I'm hungry or telling myself I shouldn't be hungry as I had lunch etc. I think this is down to being a serial picker that ate every hour or so and my body needs to get used to what hungry really is. Also struggling to concentrate solely on eating and find my mind wandering. Can't get the hang of eating slowly or leaving food on my plate either. I have been managing to drink a lot more water.

Having said all that I will keep going and listening to the cd etc and I'm hoping my body just needs a bit of 'retraining' and that it will all click into place.

Solo · 29/02/2012 00:21

It will nbee :) you will get used to these feelings.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 29/02/2012 06:50

Yes it took me a little while because I've been dieting/ignoring my physical hunger for so long and feeding my emotional hunger at other times. They key is to eat consciously and keep pausing and saying 'am I full yet?'. I'm surprised how little I'm hungry at times!
I'm still visualizing! It's really helping :)

ppeatfruit · 29/02/2012 09:44

Morning all Smile yes phee that's a good idea; also have a cup of strong herbal tea (I put 2 bags in) if you get that strange fake hunger half an hour or an hour after you've eaten. Then you'll recognise the real hunger when it arrives IYSWIM.

Crusty I had a dream about recipes for slow cooked meat (i've not cooked meat for ages 'cos DH cooks his own now he works from home) he always 'browns' the meat first on the hob then puts in a casserole in the oven a la Raymond Blanc. solo you got any?

Neenook · 29/02/2012 11:28

Right, am reading the book today (no-one else in the office!) Will listen to CD tonight and then I'm off...I will do this properly.

Weighing myself tomorrow am, then not until my birthday in May - target loss of a stone by then.

Also going to Zumba on Friday whilst DS1 is kayaking instead of raiding the vending machine watching Grin

Neenook · 29/02/2012 12:33

Ooh, have just seen that you can get an app for iphone! Has anyone else got it and is it any good?
