Second thread

Loads of us doing really well and losing weight WELL DONE

Some of us, looking at no one in particular de motivated and struggling. I could start with the excuses but I'm not going to. What's done is done, I need to concentrate on the diet from now (and maybe even some exercise). Since I am in a confessional mood I will start this thread by saying that all I have eaten today is about 200g of chocolate. No lie, no exaggeration (I know I have eaten one 100g bar and some more). I really have a problem with food - have no willpower for moderation, it is all or nothing.

So, reasons to continue (these are mine, please add your own):

  • Psychologically I am going to get 'there' again - i.e. deciding to diet and really getting it. The reason I am not is because I am full of "what's the point" thoughts. I have done so badly in the last few days. But it doesn't MATTER - it's actually better to make the change now when I start to get horrified again in 3 weeks time.
  • I am doing it. I ahve lost 2.5 stone since last summer and 1.5 stone since Christmas! If I eat less, I lose weight. So doing it is not pointless and I will see results.
  • I am going to start having some health issues soon. I may have lost weight but I am still at a point where my weight is unhealthy.
  • I still cannot wear my s16 jeans. That's my first goal - by the end of this month.
  • I feel overall more happy and positive when I am logging calories. If I could ahve a day off without blowing it and losing ALL motivation to restart I'd be happy to do that every once in a while. But I can't, so I won't.

Right, off to log my 200g chocolate and think about lunch.

LollipopViolet · 26/02/2012 11:57

Hmm, better day yesterday, and so far a better day today. Now, to try and resist popcorn at the cinema on Tuesday...

And plan my next 2 gym visits

Why won't you go away?

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 26/02/2012 14:59

I've lost another pound this week, was a bit gutted actually as I seemed to be losing well earlier in the week so was hoping to manage 2 pounds and reach my first goal - but then went off track a bit yesterday cos was having a bit of a rubbish weekend, and finished up having a takeaway so I think that made me lose less than I otherwise would have. Still it's better than no loss at all. (And at least I went for one of the relatively less bad takeaways and stayed away from the prawn crackers!).

Oh well, back on the wagon and if I can lose one more pound I'll have met my first goal next weekend and can wear my nice new boots, here's hoping.

CotherMuckingFunt · 27/02/2012 14:25

A pound is a pound MyName! Well done Smile

I ended up having half a pizza on Friday evening and then was gutted on Sunday when I had gained 2kg Shock. However, I weighed myself again today and it's gone again so I guess it was water retention from eating stuff my body can't tolerate. I'm so relieved as I was so upset that one evening of eating the wrong thing could ruin all the hard work I've put in. Bloody stupid body. Grrr.

fivegomadindorset · 27/02/2012 21:43

A pound is most definitely a pound.

I am slipping into the realms of having to get a size smaller trousers.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 27/02/2012 23:07

woohoo five!

MABS · 28/02/2012 09:08

lydiathetattooedlady · 28/02/2012 10:32

Hello....im a-creeping back in if i may? After the disastrous lurgy period in the house, we are now sickness/eari infection/ chest infection free!!
As you know i gained but very pleased to say that since getting my arse well and truly in to gear nearly 3 weeks ago ive lost 6lbs, so now at 9lbs total since beginning of the year.
I was getting no where with weight watchers and quite irritable so dug my SW books out and have been properly following it, not half arsed following!
Im tyring to catch up on the thread, how is everyone getting on?

MABS · 28/02/2012 12:18

MABS · 28/02/2012 17:41

i am hurting after pt...oouch. haven't weighed as too depressing

StealthPolarBear · 28/02/2012 22:34

Well done everyone who's lost, seems like quite a few. I've had a fairbit of time off but without going mad, apart from anniversary weekend. Back on diet as of yesterday. Weighed myself tonight and with clothes and at end of day I was 4lb up, so hopefully actually only a lb or 2. My weight affects self esteem. I think what's the point of having a nice haircut or expensive clothes on me. I have to lose weight. It's always been that way

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 29/02/2012 11:28

Well done Stealth, and MABS for getting going again!

I am quite Grin this morning as I did a sneak non-official weighing and have suddenly dropped down to below my initial goal weight! But DH who is the official Guardian of the New Boots (which are going to be my reaching-goal reward) has decreed that I can't wear them until I am under my goal on my proper WI day. So here's hoping for Sunday...

For some reason I have managed to do well so far this week, even managed to eat quite a lot of crisps and still have more than half my weekly points saved up for later in the week - hope it lasts!

StealthPolarBear · 29/02/2012 11:44

Fantastic myname! Does that mean you'll be leaving us?

OP posts:
MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 29/02/2012 13:14

Sadly (no offence Grin) not yet, that was just my first goal, once I get there I'll have to decide on the next one! But it is still a big milestone, and more than half what I needed to lose to get inside my healthy weight according to WW.

I'm not really sure what to aim for as the "final destination" yet! What are other people going for (compared to your height/healthy weight)?

StealthPolarBear · 29/02/2012 13:30

That is brilliant - both the weight loss and the fact you're staying :)
I'm 5'8 and ideally I'd love to be 9st. I think that's fairly unlikely though, don't think I have been that since I was 10 :( Anywhere between 11st and 11st7 will be very satisfying. Less than 3st to go - I can do this!

Rowgtfc72 · 29/02/2012 17:23

Well done everyone ! send a bit of that motivation my way please! Well the wedding dress arrived and after three hours staring at it got dd to help me try it on......and it fits!will need taking in on the shoulders as Im not a 22 really its just wedding dresses are stupidly smaller, but,it does up across my back! Was going to celebrate with a Kebab but did a two hour walk instead! Would now like to be thirteen stone by end of March too.Race you Stealth !

fivegomadindorset · 29/02/2012 18:19

Well done Myname and Stealth and goo for your MABS getting bakc into it and hello Lydia, you are nearly closer to a stone lost than half a stone.

And well done Row on a walk not a kebab.

Another 1.5 tonight so 8.5 in total, my friend is up to 1 st 1.5, she lost a massive 7lbs in her first week. We go to SW together and when we reach a total of 4 stone between us we are going to go out for a meal, so nearly half way there.

fivegomadindorset · 29/02/2012 18:20

The most I lost in 18 months of WW was 1.5 stone so hoping for better results this time.

MABS · 29/02/2012 18:20

well done Rowgtfc!

I am 5ft 8 smae as Stealth and want to get back to 9 1/2 stone ideally :)

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 29/02/2012 23:54

Eek, I'm 5 ft 5 1/2 but don't think I would ever manage to get to and then (more difficult) stay at 9st, or even 9 1/2, again! Except if I had another baby, breastfeeding seems to give me ridiculous weightloss but sadly it never lasts once I stop... apart from then I've not been close to that weight since my teens.

Maybe 10st would be a reasonable final target to aim at... that would be well inside healthy weight for my height. Will ponder.

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2012 08:29

Well according to the scales I have lost 2lb since yesterday Confused
Does anyone else have this sort of problem with theor scales? I don't trust them at all? I've probably not lost a sinlge pound and am actually still 16lb6 :o
