Through rain and snow and skies of grey
We will keep running the C25K
Though lack of sleep and time do test us
We wil not let excuses best us
For 2012 will be the year
For weight loss, fitness and good cheer
Nine weeks of running isn't that long
So come on ladies, get those running shoes on!

Welcome to all runners, joggers, speed walkers and waddlers! All levels of fitness are welcome here on the Couch to 5k support thread. For more information see the NHS website

Please can I have a kick up the arse?

Two days off and feeling lazy, eating choc on the sofa Blush

cinnamongreyhound · 25/01/2012 23:04

Tomorrow is a new day OneLieIn, get out there and burn off that chocolate!! I'm going out about 6pm so will check in when back and we can compare notes :)

Kewcumber · 25/01/2012 23:29

cece don;t worry about it - I will be behind you! Barely walking though managed acqua on Monday and some wii fit today tomorrow am going to do a brisk 30 min walk and see how my calf is. If not too bad I'm going to start again on W1R3 (so almost back to the start for me) I think its sensible though. I really want to get there (and stay there) and won;t do myself any favours having persistent injuries and giving up.

Jnice · 26/01/2012 00:27

OnLieIn fresh start tomorrow?

I have motivated myself by spending too much on lululemon running tights and pullover. All my other gear was too small and I'm sick of it - it was making me feel really fat - uncomfy with awful muffin top. I can't wait to get out there in my toasty, warm gear.

Week 5 tomorrow cinnamon?

Jnice · 26/01/2012 00:30

cece week 3 was 4 runs each 3 mins. Take it easy and rejoice in the fact that there are only 4 of them -gl!

kew starting slowly and carefully after an injury is so important - gl!

QueenRunningGeekMum · 26/01/2012 07:34

Cece the week 3 podcast is. 5 mins shorter, be aware of that when you're out as otherwise you end up away from home and do a 10min warm down walk!

OneLieIn you should name change to OneGetUpAndGo. Get your sorry ass off that sofa and get running Angry

W4r3 tonight, yay!

Btw TheString well done on leading the way into w6!

Kew glad to hear you're starting again, take care.

dotty2 · 26/01/2012 09:23

Hmm. I have a cold. Nothing on my chest, just snotty nose and sore sinuses. I believe, according to the old exercise rule I remember from when I used to go to the gym, pre-DC, that this means I am alright to go running - should be W4R2 today. Dubious, though - I only just managed W4R1 on Tuesday so might not make it will all the snot. Maybe I'll give it a go and not feel bad if I have to give up.

OneLieIn · 26/01/2012 09:56

Onehasgotupandgone! W4r3 and quite quick, 8.40 per km...it's the first time I have ever run under 9! Feeling good! Grin

OneLieIn · 26/01/2012 09:57

Dotty, take tissues ...blowing your nose takes your mind off running

dotty2 · 26/01/2012 09:59

Well done OneUpandOutahere! Tissues for me it is - just got to do some work first.

weblette · 26/01/2012 10:01

Going out for W4R2 once I've finished watching last night's Masterchef on the iPlayer Grin

Happy running folks!

jchocchip · 26/01/2012 10:10

Just recording week 5 run 2 and I enjoyed it and I sprinted the last minute and I punched the air! Half way and I'm so happy I could cry...

weblette · 26/01/2012 10:14

Well done jchocchip - fantastic effort! Grin

thederkinsdame · 26/01/2012 10:21

Morning! Well done to all you super-runners! Everyone is doing so well!

As for me, well. I'm still here! Still lumbering jogging through wk1. It is getting easier - but I definitely did the right thing going back. It was pouring down this morning, cold and miserable. I nearly didn't go, but I'm glad I did. The rain has stopped and I feel great! I know I am a long way behind you guys now, but I will get there. eventually. You will all probably be running marathons by the time I run 5k though! Wink

QueenRunningGeekMum · 26/01/2012 10:22

Great efforts from OneLieIn and Jchoc!

I know that feeling Jchoc, it makes it so worth the effort! Try to take that feeling and save it up for a day when you feel less motivated... You're doing so well Grin

QueenRunningGeekMum · 26/01/2012 10:23

Well done Thederkins, been wondering about you! Keep going, you'll get there!

thederkinsdame · 26/01/2012 10:26

Thanks, QueenRunningGeekMum I may be unfit but I'm also bloody minded. It won't beat me Grin How are you?

MetalSian · 26/01/2012 10:53

I feel sick Sad.

DS has had a sickness bug for the last two days so was only a matter of time until I caught it I suppose.

Going to have to wait until later and see if I feel any better.
Don't want to miss a running day.

weblette · 26/01/2012 11:56

:( MetalSian hope you feel better soon.

I do like running through a good muddy puddle :) That was fine, it's so much easier when the sun's shining!

Kewcumber · 26/01/2012 12:16

you aren't behind me thederkins, I'm having to almost start from scratch so we'll probably hit week 2 around the same time.

dotty2 · 26/01/2012 13:20

Snot vanquished! Managed W4R2 in spite of my cold - hard but great. And the sun was shining while I was out and it's just started throwing it down - so feel doubly pleased with myself.

(are we still counting wildlife? - I saw a moorhen and a great crested grebe!)

jchocchip · 26/01/2012 13:38

moorhen and great crested greebe - well spotted!

OneLieIn · 26/01/2012 15:43

If you are counting wildlife....Coldstream guards?

QueenRunningGeekMum · 26/01/2012 15:47

Thederkins, thanks I'm very well. Had a bit of a blip in the diet today, went round a friend's house and we all had cakes etc Blush

There's no wildlife round here to be seen but I heard a woodpecker, does that count?

Aseaandthreestars · 26/01/2012 17:11

Oh this isn't going very well. I just can't run on work or pain management course days, which is leaving a huge gap and me trying to cram everything in at the weekend. I'm a bit stuck.
