Through rain and snow and skies of grey
We will keep running the C25K
Though lack of sleep and time do test us
We wil not let excuses best us
For 2012 will be the year
For weight loss, fitness and good cheer
Nine weeks of running isn't that long
So come on ladies, get those running shoes on!

Welcome to all runners, joggers, speed walkers and waddlers! All levels of fitness are welcome here on the Couch to 5k support thread. For more information see the NHS website

Another Tuesday W2 starter :) Well done Pan Ohbugrit I dream of that stage!

Did a Sports Direct trip so now have no excuses, even if it's tipping down!

delilahbelle · 08/01/2012 19:07

I will be starting W3 on Tuesday - I'm actually looking forward to it too.
Went out for a nice muddy walk today too.

thestringcheesemassacre · 08/01/2012 19:13

Run 3, week 3 DOWN.
Week 4 starts tuesday. Yes! I'm excited.

Woodlands · 08/01/2012 19:19

I will be starting Week 2 tomorrow - I will run to/from nursery. Not sure whether to do it for drop off or pick up (will do the other one by car). I work from home and want to maximise time at my desk. In some regards it would make sense to run first thing (nursery opens at 8am, it's about 20 mins walk away, so would leave at maybe 7.45) then shower when I get home. Trouble is that would mean not getting to my desk till maybe 8.30. Maybe it would make sense to do the run when I pick him up (by 1.30).

cinnamongreyhound · 08/01/2012 19:26

W2R1 done, run 2 on Tuesday!

LookMaOneHand · 08/01/2012 19:33

Wow I can't believe we need a new thread already! If we can stay this motivated, we won't know ourselves by Easter :)

I'm starting week 2 tomorrow - will check back when w2r1 is done! Thanks ScienceGeek for the new thread Thanks

KinkyDorito · 08/01/2012 19:35

I hope you are sitting down ladies...

Wk1 Run1 completed! Woo!

I am feeling very pleased with myself as I was really nervous about going out. I didn't do the first run as just as she said go, I walked slap bang into a group of teenagers who will go to my school. They were watching me in amusement so I wimped out. It was bad enough being 15st and out on leggings. However, I cracked on, and made sure I added a run in for the one I missed on the way home. It was fine, though my legs got tired towards the end. I also didn't plot a route so had a 15 minute walk home.

I think I'm going to go on a morning as I won't feel as self concious.

I deserve a medal. Fact.

KinkyDorito · 08/01/2012 19:35

in leggings

HalleLouja · 08/01/2012 19:36

Run week 2 day 2. Am going to do day 3 tomorrow. Promise gov.

OneLieIn · 08/01/2012 19:39

Phew, thought I had lost you all!

W2r1 down today with dd who left me for dust. W2r2 Tuesday night, very late and really looking forward to it.

PaddingtonsMarmalade · 08/01/2012 19:40

Week 1 run 3 and due to do week 2 run 1 on Tuesday morning.

Was going tomorrow morning but I've buggered my knees somehow and I'm hoping they'll feel better by then. I'm cheesed off about it as I really want to get running.....not a sentence I thought I'd ever type!

ScienceGeekMum · 08/01/2012 19:43

Congrats Kinky! Well done - starting is half finished I always say!

And everyone else is doing great too! I wonder if we'll have any more newbies joining us - it'd be great to get to 100 runners!

Posting here as well as old thread in case no one sees it!

Interested in those using the c25k app, I've got the podcast so stuck with their choice of music. Its fine but be nice to chose my own music.

I have broken the rules today and run two days in a row. Was so unhappy after yesterday I wanted to give week 2 a go and try to feel more positive about the whole things and it was much easier than yesterday. So I har managed to next step and am looking forward to my next run, yay!!

Some people are just rude woodlands!

KinkyDorito · 08/01/2012 19:54

Thanks ScienceGeek, and thanks for new thread Thanks.

Week 2 run 3 today in sunny Rabat!

Starting week 3 Tuesday or Wednesday once I'm back in England.

ScienceGeekMum · 08/01/2012 20:05

Cinnamon, agree with you on the muzak, especially the horrendous 2Unlimited NoLimits remix on w2's first run! But I'm falling in love with Laura a bit ("you might be feeling tired now, but you're doing great, keep going!") so am going to stick with her until I can run the 5k. Then I'm going to switch to my own music and hopefully keep running!

yehudiwho · 08/01/2012 20:05

last run was week 2 run 2 - and a woodpecker

BaDaBing · 08/01/2012 20:13

I have finished week 1 and will be on w2 r1 tomorrow at 6.30 (before work). I am hoping I manage as have been knackered after my runs in week 1, although am recovered by end of 5 min cool down. Good luck to rest of you, will keep checking in with progress.

BaDaBing · 08/01/2012 20:14

Who is Laura? I am using the couch to 5k app on my iPhone which has some American guy. Is there a better app?

Stylelostinlabour · 08/01/2012 20:20

Shuffles in slowly - ouch well did week 4 run 1 and in new trainers which might not have been my best idea yet, first run OKmbut tried to do the next 5 mins and felt like I was pulling the couch with me, just couldn't get going but managed to cover 2.78 miles so not all bad.

Next run Tuesday night so hopefully we be better
