I started on Christmas day (stocking filler from dp I had been begging for). I'm going to combine it with running and hope it will replace the gym (as post dd2 I have not the time to go as she bf all the time!)

So I've done 2 days im on level 2 and find it tough but good

marthastew I have the same problem, just gone back to work so it's a bit difficult finding time with a baby to do this every day. On the days I work I plan on doing my exercise once DS has gone to bed at 7pm whilst dp does the dinner dishes and then I get to jump in the bath and relax for the evening :)

On my days off I intend to do the exercise when he has his mid morning nap. I tried the Ministry of Sound DVD workout last summer but found doing a whole hour and a half took a fair bit out of my day so I'm glad this is much less time.

bigTillyMint · 16/01/2012 07:29

Just done day 13 level 2. My back was twingeing very badly in the cardio Sad, but apart from that I was fine. Didn't even wobble over when doing the standing on one leg bicep curls (like Natalie!!!)

jchocchip · 16/01/2012 08:16

Hi I did day 1 on Thursday but I'm also doing c25k and swimming and somehow don't think I'm going to be able to do shred every day. Will try day 2 later and maybe do alternate days if I survive

rosalux · 16/01/2012 09:14

L1D1 completed. Hurrah! Now I just have to keep it up, oh and not eat my bodyweight in chocolate after dinner each night. Think I will go and buy some star stickers to put on my calendar to record my (hopefully comtinued) success.

putyourhatonsweetie · 16/01/2012 11:45

well done for getting started rosalux and jchochip

day 16 level 2 done, I normally shred with dh but he is away this week so I'm very grateful to this thread and accountability! (it seems I have no mind of my own)

almost ready for level 3 but want to make sure I am holding my tummy in on everything for another couple of days.

Keep it up everyone

jchocchip · 16/01/2012 12:13

day 2 done. I can't do all of the exercises but I'm still getting very hot and guess they will get easier as I get lighter/tone up. I really need the abs work as mine have been neglected for far too long!

assumpta · 16/01/2012 12:46

Level 1, day 6 completed this morning. Put music on full blast and turned herself down. I know she is doing me good, but hearing the same encouragement each day started to get on my nerves a bit. First set of cardio slightly easier, it still gets me though. No pain any more, I thnk doing longer stretches really helps.

marthastew · 16/01/2012 13:20

Day 6 done. L1 but going to go to L2 when I get to day 10. I haven't lost weight yet but I have lost 3cms off my waist!

bigTillyMint · 16/01/2012 13:59

Martha - 3cm off your waist - great stuffSmile

mcfee · 16/01/2012 14:26

Hi. Can I join? DVD just arrived in post today. Going to attempt it later when DD1 has gone to Rainbows & DH is putting DD2 in bath (no audience then!) Wish me luck Smile
Summarise all your success stories so far to motivate me please Grin

Napdamnyou · 16/01/2012 15:15

Day 8 level one done, after a rest on day seven. Took anothr set of pics and after a week an see noticeable difference especially round tummy area which is shrinking and flattening. Have upped weights and now use 4lb all the way through apart from one set of side lunge dumbbell raises. Holding two weights in each hand (4lb plus 3 LB to make 7 LB) for chest flies is straining my hands though, need heavier weights.

Fitness level also improving, sweat and heart rate goes back to normal much faster and I am jumping higher and kicking my butt more. Arms getting muscley in a good way. Shoulders more muscley. Press ups getting deeper. Never had results like it and have done ministry of sound, davina and the gym in the past.

It's a really, really good workout.
Well done everyone for cracking on.

Napdamnyou · 16/01/2012 15:16

Actually, that was day nine. Damn you DH for messing with my calendar.

ReduceRecycleRegift · 16/01/2012 15:20

Great to hear the results someone ahead of me is getting napdamnyou well done and thanks for posting Grin

about to do L1D5, had to have a break between 3 and 4 because I wasn't at home to do it. Feel great! I don't usually exercise in the morning but have done a couple of them early because it was my only time and felt full of energy and great all day!

rosalux · 16/01/2012 15:43

I definitely second morning workouts. DS woke me at 4am and again at 4.30am and 5am and then by 6am I just took him into bed with me where he (eventually) fell asleep. I still got up at 7.30am (post feed) and started the shred and felt great. Hopefully both DS and I will sleep better tonight. My new work out clothes I ordered in the sale arrived and look pretty nice and most importantly don't smell of ingrained sweat Blush like my old ones. I also put a green star on today's calendar for L1D1 completed. Have a good feeling about this one (crosses fingers).

ReduceRecycleRegift · 16/01/2012 16:04

wow well done on doing it after such a broken night! rosalux Grin

I did 10 full push ups on the first round of push ups today before switching to anita ones (think my record was 3 so far) but then couldn't even do the anita push ups when it came to the second round of them Confused. Think I'm going to stick on L1 until I've mastered full push ups? I've got a way to go, might up my hand weights again in a few days to keep it challenging!

Ordered a iphone arm band today to get back into running again, find the shred very motivating, think it's helping me stick to my diet too! Love Jillian! near the end when I'm flagging and she says "you STROONG, this is EEASY for you" it gives me a boost every time and I jump higher! Grin

assumpta · 16/01/2012 16:18

marthastew Wow that is brilliant. I am also on day 6 and do feel there is less of a roll over my jeans, but I didn't measure. I am also trying not to weigh myself as I will become depressed if I have not lost.

Not drinking during this month, but have substituted it with a bit of choc each evening. Nothing too big, but if I give up everything, I will stop being motivated. Just went for a walk too which I normally would not do, so something is working. For me I have to take it day by day or I find it a bit daunting and seem to be wishing my life away until I get to day 30.

napdamnyou good idea with upping the weights, I think I will wait till day 10 before I do this for all the exercises, but may start to build them in bit by bit.

picklepepper · 16/01/2012 16:56

I've just started the shred today, completed L1D1. I found it suitably tough, and I had to have a couple of illicit water breaks!!

The thing is, I'm only going to be able to do the shred 4 days p/w as I work 3 days, and on those days I leave the house at 6.15am, and get home at around 7.15pm - by which time I am good for nothing, usually eat, bath and bed!

I'll still see the results, won't I? I'm prepared for it taking a bit longer, but actually the main reason I get home so late is because I have a long commute home which involves navigating a notoriously horrendous stretch of the M6, so in the time after work where I'm waiting to set off, I was thinking I would start using the swimming pool next to work to compliment the shred. This will hopefully help with work stress too I hope. Someone tell me my clothes will still start to fit better, regardless of the limited days, please!!! Grin

Well done to those of you persevering with it, the success stories are really inspiring. Keep it up!!

ssmile · 16/01/2012 18:09

pickle I'm only doing it everyother day with 1-2hrs walkin on the other days, (have 4mth old so still BF 3x in night) but I do 30-60 min walks on school run on shred days too. Today my butt Really Hurts! I really worked on my technique on last session on squats and boy has it worked! Done day 3 level 1 and managed one whole full press up with 20 half ones. I've never managed full press up before :o

picklepepper · 16/01/2012 18:18

Well done you ssmile!! After only day 3 too! That's fab, I'm going to try and work on my technique too on Weds (day2 of L1), I don't think my technique was anywhere near right today... I was a bit shellshocked! You're very good for walking the school run too, you'll have abs like Jillians in no time!!

ReduceRecycleRegift · 16/01/2012 18:39

pickle I think 4 days a week of shred will still be good going, especially if you swim too!

assumpta · 16/01/2012 18:41

Pickle - I think that sounds good too. Good luck.

jen127 · 16/01/2012 18:55

L1 D 5 getting easier but nervous about going to the next level!

TheEndlessArete · 16/01/2012 19:01

I did the 30 days before Christmas and have started again - just picking and choosing between the levels to keep it interesting. There are still bits of all three levels that I struggle to do (mainly anything with 'plank' in it..)(and the rockstar jumps -urrrrghhh) - but there is a definite change in my body shape. I've stopped snacking and have been jogging a couple of times a week (maybe do shred 4 times a week?) - but suddenly jeans fit that I haven't worn for years, I seem to have a waist, and my upper arms/shoulders are getting a lovely shape !
After 4 DCs, I haven't used my abdominal muscles for a very very long time, so it's great to have a work out that strengthens different areas, rather than just sticking with cardio (jogging, which is what I normally do)

I've never used exercise DVDs before but this is great !!

Sorry, haven't read the whole thread, but am writing this as an encouragement to Pickle and others, that your body really will look different !!

buggyRunner · 16/01/2012 19:52

Hi all, after my run yesterday I needed to take it easy. I went to level 1 bit with 3.5 kg weights- it's still a hard workout!! So I look like this Blush again! Oh and I'm at my good weight again! And that's after breakfast weigh in Grin
