I started on Christmas day (stocking filler from dp I had been begging for). I'm going to combine it with running and hope it will replace the gym (as post dd2 I have not the time to go as she bf all the time!)

So I've done 2 days im on level 2 and find it tough but good

This is gonna sound weird but I so think she's (Jillian) got a thing going on with Natalie! It's just the way she say's "Isn't that right, bud?"

She's gorgeous but she's deffo a tom-boy.

EttiKetti · 13/01/2012 06:27

Ugh been awake with headache for an hour and am very dizzy on getting up. I don't think I can shred this morning. Gutted. I'll try tonight instead.

bigTillyMint · 13/01/2012 07:08

Day 12 level 2 done. My lower abs are definitely suffering. I think it's all those press-up type moves.

My DS was very scathing towards Jillian when she was talking to me Grin

catsareevil · 13/01/2012 07:26

Can I join this thread?

I have just done day 6, and did level 2 for the first time today, it was a killer, but definitely felt more productive than level 1. During the second abs circuit I felt like my belly muscles were going to tear. Not sure if that is good or bad? Confused

Not sure whether to do level 2 again tomorrow, or to drop back to level 1 for a couple more days.

putyourhatonsweetie · 13/01/2012 08:03

Thanks serotoninbutterfly.

As for Jillian, well she is now part of our family banter. Can't I just do bicep curls, no you cannot!" .... has turned into "Can't I rest instead of feeding ds...no you cannot" "Can't i just sack off putting the bed together... no you cannot" My name is putyourhaton sweetie and I am a lost cause.

day 13 level 2 done. getting there

assumpta · 13/01/2012 12:08

Day 3, level 1 done. I thought my legs and arms were going to fall off yesterday evening. It is encouraging to see people on level 2 and level 3. I hope i get there! I am starting proper swimming lessons this afternoon; yes a forty year old that can't swim properly, and I am glad I don't feel as sore as yesterday, or the chances of me drowning would have been very high. Wink

Napdamnyou · 13/01/2012 12:26

Did day six yesterday but having rest day today as think my body needs it and baby very restless at night so very broken sleep.

Microwaved edaname beans my new snack discovery and muesli with almond milk is a good lunch I have found when no time to eat, stops me getting yet another sandwich....

Walking lots and stretching when on floor playing with baby. Am in the tropics so rushing about outdoors is hard as is humid and very warm. Take baby swimming though which means lots of walking about holding him in water in squats!

early, it does get better - by day 4 my muscles were kind of back to normal Smile But I guess if you haven't been doing any exercise at all, it will be a bit more of a body shock!

I am keeping on with the shred, but not even trying to think of dieting!

Napdamnyou · 13/01/2012 15:48

It does get much less achey after day three.

I am not really dieting but have found I don't want to eat as many carbs and am more energetic so did a 4k walk today which was good considering it's 80 percent humidity and 28 degrees.

Napdamnyou · 13/01/2012 15:49

Oh yeah, and have lost 2 kilos in a week!

StaceymAloneForver · 13/01/2012 16:54

hi just wondering how much room you need for this dvd workout? i have limited space in the living room so don't want to buy it and find out i dont have enough room (i have about 1m x 2m between the telly and the couch)

cool, should order this then, i work from home and never take a 'lunch break' so should force myself to do this and it will add to the 3 days zumba i'm doing atm, got some inches to lose to fit in my wedding dress eeeek

catsareevil · 13/01/2012 18:10

Level 2 does involve a little bit more movement off one spot, there is one move where you have to do a sideways jump like a skater (if that makes sense).

jen127 · 13/01/2012 20:45

How do you add a glass of red wine sign from your iPhone! Friday night woo hoo !

treadonthecracks · 13/01/2012 21:00

Can I suggest anybody aching does a few extra stretches at the end to avoid further aches and pains, and do the stretches she suggests for a little bit longer, slow count of ten.

Day 12 here, still on level 2, have shredded a few times before and putting off going up to level 3!

assumpta · 13/01/2012 21:21

What happens when, or if, you get to day 30? Are we all super fit and motivated by then, or do we slump back into bad habits? What has your experience been?

notveryinventive · 13/01/2012 21:36

thats a good question assumta I would assume you just do level 3 forever. I was thinking of getting her even harder workout DVD's I believe she has. I am also going to start running once the weather gets nicer.

bigTillyMint · 13/01/2012 21:38

I was wondering that assumpta - I am aiming to do it till half-term in preparation for skiing. I haven't thought further than that!

putyourhatonsweetie · 14/01/2012 02:28

Well done all, Yep early that is what I was like on my first day of level 2.

assumpta good for you on the swimming lessons. Something I have been thinking about for a while, I can go a good lady breast stroke for ever but worried about my kids overtaking me (very soon in the case of dd) and would love to be able to do a fast crawl in case I need to rescue my daredevils! DH supposed to be teaching me but this has amounted to about 10 minutes in the last cough years

putyourhatonsweetie · 14/01/2012 02:30

sorry assumpta posted too soon again, meant to also ask if you have any tips for the [ahem] older learner.

Flimflammery · 14/01/2012 10:28

I'm getting a bit confuss'd with all the shred threads, but anyway...

WOOHOO! I started this morning, level 1 day 1. Planning to do it every day except if I go for a bike ride or yoga class. Got it on iTunes so I can do it watching my laptop in my bedroom. Stuck the kids in front of the telly. No weights yet so used two tins of tomatoes. Not aching yet, but I can feel I will be tomorrow. I'm not totally unfit as I cycle a bit and have done some yoga and dance, but really really need to lose the pot belly so I can wear dresses again without looking pregnant.

Top tip: do a wee before doing star jumps Blush
