So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall Xmas Wink. So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

Morning all!

Yawn. I'm shattered. I will do the list when DD has her morning nap.

Food today looks like:
B: fruit and ff yog
L: omelette and salad
D: either lamb snd spinach curry or seafood pasta
Snacks: ml yog, fruit, will use a heb as a snack

grinningbee · 05/01/2012 08:27

Morning!

Cheese just get yourself and dd sorted, don't worry about it. How is she today?

The wind kept waking us last night. And it flipped the lid up on the recycling bin, so at some point I'm going to have to play retrieve the rubbish from around the garden. Boo.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and a yogurt (ah, old habits)
Beef rogan josh with loads of broccoli

Morning all!

Cheese hope you and DD have a better day today matey. How is she this morning?

Kid, I think taking an average of 3 weights is not a bad idea - I might do it from now on! Whatever scales I use I am never quite convinced of their accuracy. And in fact I've noticed that with my (digital) scales, if I'm not standing on them but they are still trying to weigh something, they register 0.8kg, which means I'm a bit thinner than I think right?!

Curses to the weather. Walking is my exerise of choice - I have a routine 3 mile walk along the canal and back through the park that burns 270 cals - but I can't face it in this weather, tho' does look like it's clearing.

Food today...

B - yoggit and fruit
L - roast veg and couscous and tomato salad
D - Vietnamese chicken and mint salad

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 08:49

She's pretty grumpy but I think she's shattered rather than anything else! Tweenies is providing a good distraction. Thanks for asking. We've only had a pooey nappy so haven't been able to look or more blood.

Weathers crap innit, I also wanted a 3 mile walk today but Dd hates the wind. Think we will have to go to the library story and song session instead. I think today's the last day of blasted wind. Enjoy picking up your rubbish bee, could you send Dh out to do it? Grin

pixiestix · 05/01/2012 09:09

Another night of being up from 11-3am. I think T must be having a growth spurt or something - no sign of teeth, but she isn't usually this evil to me without a reason. I'm thinking of leaving my pjs on and going back to bed when she has her nap.

Bought her ready brek for her breakfast as Im sure I saw it as a healthy extra on SW. It mings!

Glad that DD is alright Cheese, even if she is moody!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 09:13

Noooooo Ready Brek is lush! Sounds to me like you might've forgotten to drown it in Golden Syrup Grin

pixiestix · 05/01/2012 09:29

Ha! The first thing I said when I tasted it was "God, this could do with a spoonful of jam"! Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 09:41

I've just had a look on my wonder weeks app pixie and there is a big developmental leap at 60werks, would that fit? I'd go back to bed if I were you.

J'aime le ready brek but it has to have syrup/sugar/jam. Dd hates it and we have a big box. Anyone want it? Grin

happynewRia · 05/01/2012 09:46

ready brek with white sugar. yum.

hopeDD is much better today cheese.

pants night with my boys too. Suppose it was the windy storm (am I the only person who, went safely tucked up in a warm house, finds the sound of a storm soothing? I usually sleep much better when it's stormy, and DS3 used to too when he was tiny - there was a storm the first night in hospital and it seemed to soothe us both). Also DH let DS1 stay up until 11.15 for some reason. (and then he wonders why DS1 automatically assumes the living room his is domain in an evening and often says "shouldn't they - D2&3 - be in bed yet". So I didn't even bother come downstairs for any "me" time, it being gone 11.30 when DS3 went off.

DH is currently annoying me.

Am going to try downloading C25k again this morning.

have a nice day Smile

grinningbee · 05/01/2012 10:26

Pixie You have all of my sympathy for being up that long . It sucketh mucheth.

Now, why did you all have to go and mention porridge? I was sure it couldn't be a healthy extra (surely tis full of sugar?) but I went and looked, and you can have 25g plus a ryvita. And I have a box of it here that I got for the dc... I do agree that it's nicer with a ladle bit of sugar over it or something, but all the same. Yummy! Might have to buy ryvita next shop I do, although that will require jam. Jam is only 1 syn per tsp though I think.....

Nope I was wrong - 1 tsp of jam is only 1/2 a syn, as is marmalade. Lemon curd is 1.

OP posts:
TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 11:08

Ooo this reminds me bee I have some Ryvita in the cupboards. Sunflower seed ones. Might have a couple with some honey as a snack. . .

Well, I have just booked my holiday. First ever proper holiday in the sun so I am pogo-ing up and down with excite. It's in 6 weeks so there's a perfect incentive to be really reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally good, cos as it currently stands there is a decided danger of getting harpooned if I'm spotted swimming Grin

SlinkyB · 05/01/2012 11:13

Morning all. Another household with a big box of Ready Brek that's probably gonna take ds ten years to get through. I hadn't tried it since I was a kid, so gave it a whirl and was like 'yuk!' Ds doesn't mind it plain though, but I always feel mean giving it to him as it's so blandand wallpaperpastey IMO.

With you on the hoping to have an afternoon nap front pixie - ds and I still in pj's as neither of us feeling too great (he keeps screaming the place down at nap/night times, think he has a tooth coming through tho). So glad I'd booked today off work.

Arf at you all weighing on different scales, doesn't really matter if its only a couple of pounds does it?! Grin.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 11:14

WHAT?! WHAT?!?! Of course it matters! Surely I can't be the only who has a total meltdown if I've tried really really hard all week and haven't lost only a couple of pounds?!

Huffpot · 05/01/2012 11:34

Its horrible when the little ones are sick....do as little as possible today cheese

grinningbee · 05/01/2012 12:15

Oh, you should see the performance I go through on weigh in morning. It matters!! Only one set of scales mind you Smile. I have to wee, not eat breakfast or have a cuppa, bf ds (every little bit out helps Grin), get the dc sorted and then I weigh in.

Just sprayed the mould in the bathroom again. It's bloody stubborn and refuses to give up. And I've got the industrial strength spray Sad. Kitchen, bedroom and porch still to be done. Grim.

Don't worry bee, I am right there with you!

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/01/2012 14:14

bee - new book says 35g porridge oats without a ryvita for a heb. :)

Glad dd seems more or less ok today cheese.

SlinkyB · 05/01/2012 15:17

Well done bee! Grin. Knowing you and your amazing determination, you'll shift those 11lbs and some fairly swiftly. Cheese fancy cheese triangles on toast and colonic pie?! You'll be back down to nearer goal weight before you know it too .

How many weeks til Easter? Shall we set mini-goals/aim to reach target before we all eat our body weight in chocolate. Hedge, noticed we are the same height and weight - what's your goal?

Ds perked up loads tg, just a bit clingy, which is not like him in general. I feel a bit better after grabbing some z's this pm too, so still aiming to go to Zumba tonight. First time for about two months, eek! I will go, I will I will I will I will.

Oh, what I meant about scales is that if it is a couple of lbs out, but you use the same set, in the same place, at the same time, under the same conditions, every week, then you'll still be losing the same amount, right?! Nope? I'll keep digging then...

Am Envy of sunny hols TSP - where you off to?

grinningbee · 05/01/2012 15:33

Glad he's picked up a bit Slinky, and I think I get what you mean with the scales now, ha ha. Thanks for the solidarity Cheese Grin.

Now then, Easter. Good Friday is the 6th of April which gives us 13 weigh ins. I'm game for setting a target if others want to. I might just do it anyway!

OP posts:
grinningbee · 05/01/2012 15:41

Hmmmm do I go for reasonable, or challenging....

OP posts:
SlinkyB · 05/01/2012 15:43

A pound a week is a good guide,no? Allows for any slip-ups too, why don't you aim for a stone by Easter?

happynewRia · 05/01/2012 16:40

hopefully download successful this time. Now have to locate the movation to get out there and "run"!
