So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall Xmas Wink. So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

Oh I'll be in setting a target Bee...just have to work out what!
I've lost 13 pounds so far so one more to get to my stone award, a nice new sparkly for my new book :-D

kid · 05/01/2012 16:48

DH has just arrived home with a new set of scales. They are fancy WW ones that weigh to the nearest 1/4 lb
He has weighed himself, DD weighed herself but I'll wait until no-ones looking Grin

I know what I was post Christmas and I've been good since then so I might use that weight as my starting point so will have a super loss for next weeks DoD (fingers crossed anyway)

I'm cooking Thai Green Chicken Curry tonight. The picture of it in the mag doesn't look great, bet mine looks worse. Fingers crossed it is edible.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 16:50

THanks for doing the list Cheesus. Dear Lord, I am absolutely AMAZED at your losses Shock Shock

Was that all from since this thread started or had some of you already started losing? Either way, so much congrats to you all, seriously. It's so easy to fret about, you know, Xmas gains and whatnot, but when you look at what you've actually achieved it's really amazing

Glad you DS is feeling perkier Slinky. Our hols - we are going on a Nile cruise then having a few days in a Red Sea resort Blush Blush. I cannot tell you how unlike us this is. We have never had a proper foreign holiday in 12 years of marriage. I normally content myself with a few days in Norfok

TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 16:51

Huff I remember the joy of the sparklies! Weird how they do actually feel like a huge prize even though we're grown women and should be over shiny stickers by now!

happynewRia · 05/01/2012 17:00

I have made an exercise log spreadsheet. Is that a bit needy?Blush

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 19:02

No ria I'm v impressed.

Enjoy your hol tsp, that sounds great. I'm sure you can lose a stone by then?

Thanks for the encouraging words everyone, just what I needed! I was determined to enjoy Christmas and so I did. Ha! Just getting DD down then dinner time. I am starving.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 19:12

Ria I think that's a great idea. I love charts 'n' graphs 'n' stuff . I think that's why I like MFP - I find things easier to cope with if there is quite a rigid structure and things are written down in black and white, if you see what I mean...

I surely to God hope so Cheese - I don't want to spend the holiday panicking that I won't be able to look fondly back on the photos owing to blocking out the view with my suetty bulk...

kid · 05/01/2012 19:30

stupid bloody new scales Angry

TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 19:38

What've they done kid?

It'll be lies ALL LIES

kid · 05/01/2012 19:41

I know its night time and we all know our weight goes up as the day goes on. But I weighed myself and they seem to suggest I am heavier than my post Xmas weight.
They also have the cheek to suggest that my BMI is high and my body fat is high. It didn't think my water level was high, it thought was was low!
I am a walking disaster!

Actually, I am not that bothered, well not much, but I guess its a good starting point. Actually, scrap good, its just a starting point.

So, today is my new weight with the new scales, I'll do my next WI on Weds next week with everyone else.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 19:49

Aah kid, least you got on them. The only was is up down now.

Mmmm seafood pasta, delish!
You will have a great hol TSP. Bit of sun, bit of booze, who knows, you may get up diffed.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 19:50

Pah, I say. PAH!

Looking on the bright side, if weight goes up through the day, then when you weigh in first thing Wed morning you've given yourself a head start...

kid · 05/01/2012 19:51

The Green Thai Chicken Curry tonight was pretty tasty tonight. I need to get my backside back to the gym too, I haven't been for nearly 3 weeks.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 20:16

Urgh mouth ulcers, I've got 3 in a row. Ouch!

Will try that one kid thanks for the heads up. I'm also back to the gym on Sunday!

kid · 05/01/2012 20:21

I've read that pineapple works well on ulcers. I'd assume it would be painful but apparently its not. If you try it, you'll have to let me know.

I've also heard that if you have a cold/cough, you should cover the soles of your feet in vics vapour rub, put on some socks and sleep like that for the night. WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH!
All it does is give you minty smelling feet Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 20:27

Haha the Vicks thing sounds like a croc of shit to me. I'm considering rubbing salt on them, short term pain long term gain?

TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 21:04

I always put a dab of neat salt on ulcer. You will shriek and go through the ceiling but it clears 'em way faster than Bonjela. And it's thrifty!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 21:10

Right I'm off to do it. If I wake the baby, I blame you TSP!Grin

TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 21:14
Grin
Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 21:20

Ooooooowwwwweee

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 21:20
TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 21:24

I'm told a mini magnum is an ancient home remedy for ulcers. Oh yes.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 21:29

No, I'd better not. I did put on 10lbs over Christmas!
Anyone watching Chinese tiger mums? Scary stuff!

TheScarlettPimpernel · 05/01/2012 21:33

Ooo, good self control.

I have just had a vodka and diet tonic, all decently calorie-counted except that was about a triple shot

Ooo what channel is Tiger Mums?

I am watching Public Enemies. How they are managing to make a modern tale of crime and punishment starring Daniel 'slightly odd face but you still definitely would' Mays tedious as this is a mystery...

Cheeseandbiscuits · 05/01/2012 21:37

I know, but it's got to be done. I'm going to have a gin and slim in a minute and sort out our Chrimbo photos.

It's BBC 1. It's Chinese mums forcing their 5-6 year olds to do 4-5 hours homework after school. It's vairy vairy interesting. Dd had better watch out, it's never to early Grin
