So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall Xmas Wink. So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

Ooh I would be pissed off about the mince csws

The cassoulet was ok, I added some extra spices to jazz it up. Will post on recipe thread tomorrow.

Did an 8.4 mile round walk today. After being up with dd all bloody night, I'm now exhausted. Just having a hot choc then bed!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 14/01/2012 21:10

I'm glad your DD enjoyed her party kid.

Oh I have got my fingers crossed for you. debka

Night all!

kid · 14/01/2012 21:57

The sleeping situation will get easier for you all, at some point.
I can still remember all those sleepless nights when DC were little. Infact, DD didn't sleep through the night until she was 2 1/2 Shock
Now, at 13, she would happily sleep until 10am if I let her.
DS is a slightly earlier riser at 9 but even he will sleep in until 8am. If he is up earlier, he just goes downstairs and puts the TV on. He sometimes helps himself to cereal if he is hungry. Its great, I get to stay in bed and they get to watch what they want to watch on TV so its a win win situation.
So, as your DC get older, you too will find that they sleep better and you too will sleep better. Until then, I hope you manage what sleep you can get and that you don't look too zombified Grin

kid · 14/01/2012 23:54

At this time, 13 years ago, I'd been in labour for 18hrs and was waiting for a space in the operating theatre for a c-section. How time flies!
My little madam had made me go into hospital on the Wednesday even though she didn't plan to make an apearance until the Friday!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/01/2012 07:49

Thanks kid for the pep talk! 13years, happy birthday to your DD!

Dd slept through, woohoo!

Right, body conditioning today, eeek!
B: ham and tomato omelette
L: lentil and bacon soup, fruit
D: pasta bake with cheese (HEA)
Snack: hobbit toast

kid · 15/01/2012 08:11

cheese glad she slept through. maybe she is getting the hang of it? Did you manage to sleep through or were you waking on and off expecting her to wake you at some point? Good luck with body conditioning today. It sounds like it should be a massage or some sort.of skin treatment with a name like that but i can tell by your 'eek' that it's not. Have fun!

We're off for a bike ride a bit later so dd can test out her new bike.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/01/2012 08:21

Just seen the number of ! in my last post, sorry about that.

Unfortunately it isn't a pampering session, it's essentially 1hr of aerobics. It's normally a good class so I should enjoy it when I am there.
I slept really well. More often than not, she sleeps 11-12hrs. It was just that I had been up with her 2 nights in a row so I was expecting a third. Enjoy your bike ride.

pixiestix · 15/01/2012 08:42

Yay for sleeping through babies! T has managed two whole nights in a row now! Shock

I thought you meant body conditioning Cheese Wink

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/01/2012 08:57

Haha nope, DH on night shifts Sad
Well done T Smile

TheScarlettPimpernel · 15/01/2012 09:11

Aw happy b-day to your young lady Kid :) Turning 13 is such a big deal - when my niece had her 13th my sister didn't know whether to die of pride or sob her heart out!

Cheese, I haven't chosen my dress yet - we are all going to have something different in different colours, and i think I can have a bit of a say in the style etc. so she would never dream of forcing me into something strapless for instance. Also the wedding ain't till June, and i seriously mean this weight-loss lark this time,* and 6 months averaging 2lb a week is 40lb off, which would take me to officially Not Fat Shock and a weight I've not been since I was about 13 (note: I was a fairly huge 13 year old). I just hope I can choose my dress quite late on IYSWIM. I refuse REFUSE REFUSE to be the fat bridesmaid Grin

Food today:

B - coffee (I know, I know)
L - prawn and okra curry with flatbreads, 4 squares of 85% choc
D - vietnamese chicken and mint salad, bit of ice cream

*Yeah yeah, I have said that sort of thing before....

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/01/2012 09:28

Don't worry TSP, we will get you there even if I have to come over to tower hamlets and whip you into shape god news about the BM dress, nothing worse than being squeezed into a monstrosity.

TheScarlettPimpernel · 15/01/2012 09:38

Oh bless you Cheese, buddy

Incidentally I have been eating piles of raw veg muttering 'Gonna beat that Cheese this week gonna beat that Cheese this week' so you're already spurring me on Grin

Sympathies on your DH doing night shifts btw. It's an arse, isn't it. An absolute arse. Although it does make it easier for me to 'be good', since when he's around I always want us to have some species of feast, including PUDDINGS

pixiestix · 15/01/2012 10:10

Haha, nothing like a bit of healthy competition! Grin

I am starting again tomorrow (yes, I know I sound like a stuck record). This week has been too hard to do anything but embrace fat-piggery and run with it.

All the ingredients for a big vat of lentil soup in the cupboard - thats got to shift a few pounds Wink (Is it a coincidence I wrote "shit" rather than "shift" then??)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/01/2012 10:31

Lentil soup is my all time fave, enjoy. Dieting and sleep deprivation is the pits pixie, hopefully she has settled down a bit now.

tsp thanks for the sympathy, Nights on the weekends are the worst because everyone is out doing nice family things. So we never have any company. Although my family invaded this weekend and are heading back in a min.

Just done level 1 of shred as couldn't get a gym place. I always forget how tough it is! Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/01/2012 10:32

And loving a bit of competition!

Riapwhatyousow · 15/01/2012 10:58

morning all.

I'll join you on the "start again tomorrow" pixie, and with being not fat(-ish) by june TSP (although have just done some sums and -40lb doesn't even take me down to the weight I was the day I came home from hospital with baby DS3 - he is 5 in JuneBlush, so I will just be less fat) More Effort Required by Ria.

was going to start again to day, but had a crappy night with DS2 and 3 and my poorly back, and I've just had a boiled egg with white bread soldiers. we were meant to be going for a big healthy family walk with the GPs today, but they don't fancy it. And I am feeling a bit fragile and don't much fancy leaving the houseSad (possible a good big motivational kick wouldn't go amiss either)

Huffpot · 15/01/2012 11:21

Morning all

Seems like Cheese is the one to beat ;-)

Oh I fully sympathise with sleep issues...i was hoping my 2 would be nearly over them as they've been improving but now have both been teething at the same time! And DS2 is waking up screaming every night about 9-ish and doesnt settle till hes up and eaten again! You'd think I was starving him and its driving me crazy!

Im also going to do some shopping and try to meal plan (which is new to me yet ever so practical!)

My mother in law is still AWOL so am going to have to drag a mate and her children to hospital with me as I have to have an internal scan and the DC arent allowed in and DP is at work

B: weetabix and banana
L: pasta,veg and fish
D: no idea yet!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/01/2012 14:32

Nooo I am def not the one to beat. I rarely make it to the top of the list. It's normally bee! She's the one to watch ESP as she's had colonic pie and cheese and onion pie this week!

debka · 15/01/2012 14:43

Hello all,

Glad to hear your LOs slept through cheese and pixie. DD2 woke at 5.40- I ignored her for 1/2 an hour but the screams whimpers got too much for DH and me so got her up. Thanks for the reminder that she won't be like this forever, kid. And happy birthday to your DD!

TSP I am waving my pom poms for you, I'm serious about this weight loss lark as well, I've never stuck to a diet as long as I have this one and I feel better every week. You will NOT be the fat bridesmaid, I believe in you!

huffpot hope all well at the hospital at internal scan. I meal plan religiously and it helps me budget but most of all eat well, if I know what I'm eating I'm much less likely to fall off the wagon.

BTW wtf is hobbit toast? Does it have hairy toes?

B- bacon and egg
L- pearl barley and veg soup, 2 leftover chicken nuggets
D- hopefully chicken chow mein, if I can persuade DH to go out and get it
S- 2 weetabix after my run tonight

pixiestix · 15/01/2012 15:47

Agreed. Bee is a demon - even on the weeks she "only" loses a pound or two suddenly she is down another bracket, or has made another milestone. Cah

Hobbit toast is that 400g Warburtons or Hovis Nimble Deb - teeny tiny toast that would only satisfy a hobbit. Grin

Huffpot · 15/01/2012 15:54

I think I'll really have to be brave and have the colonic pie then Wink

Scan is just for a pesky ovarian cyst that they removed while preggers with DS2 and it's regrown to 4cm last scan so monitoring it with the scan outcome probably deciding if it comes out again

MIL has been persuaded to come to the house to see the kids so is sitting in the lounge with a sour look in her face them while I make tea to aid the reconciliation process

Oh Debka you made me giggle as I pictured toast with hairy toes - very descriptive Grin

TheScarlettPimpernel · 15/01/2012 16:02

Right then, I'm taking on Bee and Cheese and all y'all Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/01/2012 16:54

I definately won't be top of the list! I had venison sausage and mash for lunch
