The Big Fat List and the Days of Doom (TM) Part V - Once we were plump but now we are thinner, and looking forward to our Christmas Dinner! (Also incorporating the New Year weigh in confession thread)

So, here we have our nice new little thread. No food type is banned from being mentioned. It is Xmas afterall Xmas Wink. So pull up a comfy chair, I've put a good film on the telly for you, put some logs on the fire and laid out some snacks. We have stollen, mince pies, chocs, shortbread, smelly cheese and crackers, wine and baileys.

Feel free to add anything else!

This thread will self destruct later in the new year, so don't worry about confessing to eating naughty nibbles, or putting on the odd pound (or 8).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

Yeh I know thanks debka

I am sat here frantically eating carrot sticks waiting for my dinner to be ready. I AM STARVING!

Right, I am waiting on a few more PMs

SlinkyB · 11/01/2012 20:09

Flippin eck !! Bloody work getting in the way of keeping up with the thread and posting. I'm not sure who/what I am missing more during the day; ds or MN?! ha ha.

To whoever asked a billion posts ago, ds is one on 30th January. Can't wait.

The descriptions of SW classes take me back; all the seal-style clapping and falseness put me of re-joining a class. I did check out my local one last year, but it was in a dusty old church hall with a consultant who seemed very jaded after doing it for ten years and she was still fat. So, decided as I'd done it three times before, I'd join this motley crew instead.

Good luck everyone - fingers crossed for a fabby List (sounds like it's already shaping up to be a long and successful one - hoorah for January eh?!).

piratecat · 11/01/2012 21:17

got linked here, thanks, will have a look .

Riapwhatyousow · 11/01/2012 21:53

OK. Tomorrow. Still feeling poorly, but the black dog is going to kennels tomorrow, I'm going to hold my head up and walk tall, and try to go back to work.

I'm heading to the supermarket with a healthy list (and will try to sneak in a pilates DVDWink)

quorn chilli defrosting for lunch, and chicken and beef defrosting for tomorrow night, and for cold meats over the rest of the week.

Here goes nothing...Wink

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/01/2012 22:05

Sorry I messed up putting your name in bold debka

Well done everyone, and thanks for doing the mega list this week Cheese.

Yep, you get the lovely fruit basket Wink

kid · 11/01/2012 22:58

Well done everyone. 6lb cheese, oh, I'd love a loss like that.

I am a bit gutted that I only lost 2lb but I know thats a good loss as its easier to keep it off when you lose it in small chunks like that. Maybe after a few weeks or so of losing 2lb a week I'll feel happier. I just don't like the yoyoing of up and down a couple of lb each week.
Its my star week this week, bet that blows my losing weight off the rail. It won't have anything to do with the 6 fingers of kitkat I had tonight Blush

I'll be good for the rest of the week. No wine or anything, I promise Smile

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/01/2012 22:59

Well done everyone - great results!

Food for today:
B wholewheat spaghetti (forgot to have fruit afterwards)
L baked potato, tuna, mayo, salad, homemade coleslaw
D salmon, new pots, broccoli, sugar snap peas, runner beans, baby corn. mango.
snacks: wholegrain crackerbread (heB), quark (hoping the dairy won't affect ds - was only a bit), ham, more homemade coleslaw, hummous (thin scrape - guessing 3 syns), grilled peppers
graze box thingy of brown bread and smokey pepper dip - 3 syns

Huffpot · 11/01/2012 23:48

Thats a great list! Very impressive :-D

debka · 12/01/2012 06:13

Well done everyone, especially cheese and the other big losers!!

slinky it was me who asked when your DS's bday is, my DD2's 1st birthday is 8 Feb. No idea what to get her, we're overwhelmed with toys from Christmas.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 12/01/2012 07:36

I'm going to put money in DDs bank for her first birthday as she doesn't need a thing!!

Really pleased with that result, just need to stick to it this week.
I was supposed to be at the gym today but I have to take my sis to a colposcopy appointment.

Food:
B: fruit and porridge (heb)
L: depends on when I get back from hospital
D: ham and artichoke pasta

Sainsburys good for you gammon hams are 50% off so I got a 1.5 kilo ham for £6 and it will feed us all week Grin

grinningbee · 12/01/2012 07:56

Morning all!

Thanks for the heads up on the gammon Cheese, I shall trot down there later.

Now I can post properly - bloody well done on the 6lb loss!! And Huffpot congrats on the 1st stone sticker Smile

Hope the list is looking as good next week too!

Ria I hope the black dog is firmly back in kennels today. Good luck back at work .

I'm thinking of starting a thread about my friend as I don't want to keep going on about it here. When I do I'll bung a link up, and anyone who wants to make a comment can.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Beans on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Cheese and onion pie with quorn sausages, maybe mushy peas as well

OP posts:
grinningbee · 12/01/2012 08:17

Thread for me to talk about M Link

Not really asking for advice on it, but any ideas on what to do (or not) would be useful.

Thanks

No worries bee, I bought 3. There isn't an ounce of fat on it and it's delish. Have posted on t'other Fred.

Right I'd better sort my DD out, she's being a little monkey today! Smile

Cheeseandbiscuits · 12/01/2012 12:33

Gosh it's quiet.

debka · 12/01/2012 13:19

I'm here!

Had leftover chilli mixed with leftover beans for lunch (slimming and frugal, me), then had a serious binge temptation, but headed it off with one chocolate truffle, 5 syns I reckon, so stayed in control.

bee much sympathy re your friend, what an awful situation :(

Huffpot · 12/01/2012 13:37

I'm very impressed you resisted temptation debka!

I'm off to the hospital this afternoon to get my new orthotics made so walking should be much easier and the best thing is with NO children so I can get a proper coffee and relax!

B: weetabix and banana
L: jacket potato,beans and salad
D: chicken and salad

Cheeseandbiscuits · 12/01/2012 13:46

Ooh lovely huffpot hope your get a good one!

Well done for resisting debka. I resisted a croissant with my coffee at the hosp today

grinningbee · 12/01/2012 15:38

I've just eaten beans on toast. Best not stick around too long in here Grin

OP posts:
grinningbee · 12/01/2012 15:41

Actually, I will add one thing quickly...

I have fantasies about drinking coffee on my own. Should the dc ever be at playgroup at the same time I am hot footing it into town for a big naughty coffee, a cake and am taking my kindle.

OP posts:
kid · 12/01/2012 16:19

I don't mind taking one dc to a cafe with me but I'm not so keen to take both as they can argue over anything.

Thinking about it, the only time I go anywhere alone is walking to work and to the gym. I rarely go anywhere on my own.

I've got pork chops out for dinner but I'm not sure what to do with them yet. I was thinking of the sticky honey and ginger recipe but don't have any potatoes or chips to go with them.

kid · 12/01/2012 16:19

I wonder if there is a sw sweet and sour pork recipe.

kid · 12/01/2012 16:43

Panic over, I found one Smile
