Got ambushed in the pub by bread & butter pudding and cheese. Oops Blush

onanightlikethis · 18/02/2012 14:46

WEll done my child for turning it around yesterday. Not easy. Well on the circuits shark. I stayed in my calories yesterday(just) and today I had a brill session at the gym. 5k run, PT session, and spin class. My legs were like jelly but that's 800 cals I'll not see again. I used the trx supension machines for the first time- by god they are hard. Also did leg matrix workout which was fab. Google it on YouTube- it's so hard.keep focussed over the weekend girls!

SharkBite · 19/02/2012 13:32

Glad you had a good workout Digbert - I use the trx sometimes, but always forget how to set them up for the different exercises so then I avoid it!

I had 24 hours off diet/ff but back in today.

5k run, 2.5k row, 15 mins powerplate, 1/2hr swimming with dd's. Off to wash my car

SharkBite · 19/02/2012 18:09

Yum. Just had roast beef with yorkshires, followed by pancake with lemon & sugar. No Wine though so should be ok

I am hoping being back in the normal routine and no visitors this week will keep me in check Grin

onanightlikethis · 19/02/2012 19:55

Mm ur tea sounds lovely shark. Been okish here today - no exercise as Sunday / Monday are my rest days, but a bit wine heavy today....only 200 cals over 1200 , but should have some in the bank from yesterday. Here's t another good week. Oh an I am so sore from yesterday's workout!

SharkBite · 20/02/2012 08:06

+2

FjorGynAndHotWater · 20/02/2012 10:01

I am +1.5 shark but the weekend was a complete write-off as far as food goes Blush I started out each day full of good intentions and scrambled egg but on Saturday DD wanted to make scones so I had to try one or two and on Sunday we went for a lovely walk but had an ice cream. Once one 'naughty' thing has passed my lips I seem incapable of stopping and the biscuit/cake floodgates open.

So really I should be grateful it is not more! Back to health today...

FjorGynAndHotWater · 20/02/2012 21:54

Been much better today; hungry now though...

SharkBite · 21/02/2012 07:43

-1.5

Hopefully shredding today.

Well done on just 1.5 Fjorn Grin and for getting back on it. I would love to break the 10.7 this week, but it seems to be and unbreakable barrier ATM Hmm

onanightlikethis · 21/02/2012 08:29

Hello, well done on the loss shark. Fjor, kep at it. We all have bad days. I've kept within 1200 yesterday, off to gym tonight for spin, PT session. ..my work trousers are loose!!

SharkBite · 21/02/2012 12:29

Hurrah for loose trousers Digbert, you have been very disciplined so it's all down to you Smile

Level 1 shred (with weights) done. 3rd exersazz of the week .

SharkBite · 21/02/2012 18:22

Grapefruit, Pea & Ham soup and a banana, 2 lemon & sugar pancakes and gammon with cauli cheese and still under calories. Woo woo Smile

prm77 · 21/02/2012 18:31

Here's the key to losing weight, keeping it off and not going to any of these expensive, patronising slimming clubs. Do moderate exercise, walking, swimming, dancing and eat a diet that reduces your carb intake. South Beach or Clean and Lean are very good. You start the day with a protein heavy breakfast which stops the hunger through the day and puts a stop to wanting more mid-morning. Beans on toast? You may as well eat white toast and a packet of crisps...it's carbs carbs carbs. Carbs make you want more carbs which turns to sugar and makes you fat. The gym makes you far too hungry and you end up having a scoff-up when you get home. My mother is French and strangely I have never met an overweight French women and none of them go to the gym or eat vile weight watchers food.

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 21/02/2012 18:47

Ha! I've seen several overweight Frenchwomen. Admittedly not as many as in this country, though! And, I suppose they were all older too.

I don't buy into this whole carbs are bad thing though. Bacon is now good and fruit is now bad...I think I really have heard it all now! Oriental people have a diet based on rice and they're thin. Asians eat a lot of rice and they're thin too until they come and live in this country. I thought the Meditteranean diet was hailed as heart- healthy amazingness....do they not eat a lot of pasta?

Beans and toast fills me up and keeps me satisfied for ages. In fact I have it several times a week for lunch.

SharkBite · 21/02/2012 18:50

Thanks for the input prm77 but:

None of us are going to slimming clubs
None of us are stuffing ourselves after the gym (we are using it to keep fit and healthy) maybe just the pub Grin
I know plenty of overweight French women and ones that go to the gym. And eat carbs for that matter Confused

Personally i believe a little of what you fancy and everything in moderation is key, but hey, what do i know having lost 4 stone and kept it off over the past 2.5 years.

Please go preach your French no carb story elsewhere......

SharkBite · 21/02/2012 18:51

lol x-post MyChild Grin

I love beans on toast too, although white toast and crisps has a certain appeal to Wink

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 21/02/2012 18:52

Did my second exersazz session yesterday: running on treadmill. Still only 2 miles. I wish this programme would hurry up and get to the decent running distances...I'm chomping at the bit!

Back on the wagon foodwise. Don't expect to lose anything this week, but hey ho, keep on trucking! I think I'm looking really good at the moment anyway, so not too worried.

Push ups, sit-ups etc tonight at home. Smile

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 21/02/2012 18:53

Hi SharkGrin

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 21/02/2012 18:55

Yeah, and exercising actually suppresses my appetite...when I'm not exercising I tend to eat more rubbish.

onanightlikethis · 21/02/2012 20:05

BUsy on here today! Been to spin and PT- I have learnt I can't do pull ups...but did manage 60 press ups- not all in one go! Burnt 776 cals, just need to decide what's fir tea.. Beans on White toast??

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 21/02/2012 22:04

dig I read somewhere (Men's Health?) that pull ups are simply a tool to gauge your fitness rather than something you do to increase your strength. Apparently being able to do even one is amazing, so don't fret!

60 press ups! Shock...think I can do about 20 on a good day...and it'd take me a very long time! The Nell McAndrew video makes you start at the bottom with your chest just off the floor, holding the position for ages, then proceed into the press-ups. I'll know I have arrived when I can actually do this! The funny thing is my arms are really toned, but they don't seem to be very strong, so looks can definitely be deceiving.

Oh, I'm rambling...means I need to go to bed.

Good night Hot Mamas.
x

SharkBite · 22/02/2012 08:09

Not tried pull ups but suspect I would be rubbish! Did 30 press ups during shred but although in full plank, probably not 'proper'.

Big workout there Digbert, hope you didn't scoff too much when you got home Wink

Well, I am down 1.5 to 10.6 finally break the 10.7 barrier, albeit not on weigh in day. I am having a girls night out with Thai meal and wine, so will probably be short lived.
