I want to lose a stone - care to join me?

This is the first time i've joined in on a thread with others and I'm hoping the mutual support will give me more motivation.

I've realised that I've gradually put on a stone and I want to stop expanding and start decreasing! My clothes feel tight and uncomfortable and I need to do something about it now. Its about 6 weeks until the whole Xmas things starts to go into overdrive and I want to do some damage limitation before then.

I'm going through quite a stressful thing at the moment which is my excuse for gorging on rubbish and indulging in that extra glass of wine. IT HAS TO STOP NOW.

So I've ordered the Davina DVDs (Power of 30 and the 30 minute work outs) and aim to eat about 1500 cals per day. I want to lose 1.5lbs a week over the next 6 weeks. Ok it's not the stone I'm really after but with Xmas in the way I need to be realistic.

Anyone care to join me?

I have about 3 stone to lose but I'll join you for the first of them! I started WW this week and so far it's going well. I find calorie counting too much of a faff but points are a lot easier. I'd like to lose a stone before Christmas and am hoping it won't be too difficult as 10lbs of the weight I need to lose is baby weight.

Are you going to do the dvds every day? I bought the Shred DVD but haven't had a chance to do it yet. DD is 6 weeks old and likes to be held all the time so she's in a sling - don't think I can shred with a sling! But we're working on her napping anyway so fingers crossed if I can get her sleeping in a basket I can start exercising too. At the moment I'm walking about 5-7 miles a day instead.

How have you done today so far? I've had two weetabix and a cup of tea and am about to have a couple of satsumas. Then I'm off out for a walk with DD.

Me please! Have decided to be realistic about weightloss and rather than think of the whole problem, decided to go for a stone as final goal and would like to be a good way there by Xmas.

So plan is c25K - just finished week 3 (for 5th time this year - but lets not look back!) and no booze at all for November - dull month so not going out much and will spend time Princessing to make me feel better about self and hopefully improve self esteem to want to push on.

I will be logging everything I eat in MFP - reading a lot of ForeveronaDiet's posts make me realise it is only by logging every mouthful, I will ever succeed - going for about 1400 cals a day and hoping to run/ move most days..

Today had some gorgeous yoghurt for breakfast but rather than tipping contents into mouth, weighed it out - was amazed to see how little 100g is - think am finding secret of my weight gain!

Yes please. I want to try and lose a stone in the next month. I'm planning on starting 30 day Shred from Sunday and follow some kind of 4 week plan too.

What diets are people using?

I got about 1.5 to 2 stone to lose. I just started slimming world but I am struggling with not snacking as much. Like yours my life is really busy at the moment and I have bad bad cravings all the time. It's just so convenient to give in and have a quick snack Blush

Can I join too please? I want to loose 20lb but would be happy to loose even half of that. I have tried to be sensible and watch what I eat, exercise daily etc... but find it difficult to do it on my own. I have being working out to Wii Fit on a a completely irregular basis and managed to loose 5lb but put most of it back on over the Holloween weekend. Blush

I lost half a stone before my wedding in August and have since piled it back on. I really want to tone up and lose at least 10lb. Have found a diet plan and written a shopping list for ingredients. Just have to stick to it all.

OK, so for me the whole regime starts on Monday. I've got people coming to stay this weekend and a big dinner planned tomorrow night.

Quite looking forward to sorting myself out actually!

So the dinner I made myself was not nice. DP liked it but I really really didn't. Now I don't know what to have. Really tempted to get myself some chips, but I know I shouldn't as I had such a good day otherwise

Hi I'm in too Smile I've lost 18lb's in the last 4/5months. Now 10 stone, but would like to be 9stone by mid-Dec as we're going on a beach holiday. This is my baby weight which I've struggled with due to bf and huge appetite! DD is now 9 mo and my appetite is waning hence the weightloss has started to get a bit easier.

I started the 30DS a couple of months ago, but only got to day 8 before RL just got in the way. I saw great results just in that short space of time! So going to re-start tomorrow, have also bought her 6 pack in 6 weeks to do after the 30DS.

Food wise I've been eating a big bowl of muesli for breakfast with soya milk, sandwich/soup for lunch and a home cooked meal for dinner (could be anything). If I get hungry inbetween I just try and eat an apple or a yogurt. After dinner I'm not letting myself eat anything (that was my downfall!), and if I get really hungry/start really craving sweet stuff I have a mug of warm soya milk with cocoa powder. It's been working really well so far!

Oh and only water and to drink and 1 coffee a day (herbal teas otherwise).

Ooh count me in. I've got 2 stone to lose and would be thrilled to get the first one off by Christmas. I've been low carbing for the past week and it works so well for me. I've slipped a little over the past few days but will be jumping back on the wagon tomorrow.

Quite excited now!

Hi all, I've done ok since Friday, have my weigh in on Tuesday and am hopeful for a big loss as it's week 1. Fingers crossed!

Only water to drink would kill me - my Diet Coke obsession knows no bounds. (Though I'm sure it's eating me alive from the inside out.)

Good weekend for me - no wine so no bonkers carb eating and able to face gym without vomiting on treadmill !

Will weigh tomorrow - hope to have lost 1-2 this week.. which would keep me on schedule to lose stone by Xmas

I'm in. I've done a meal plan for this week and been to Tesco, so am all set (Delia's marinated chicken brochettes with green cous cous tomorrow - got to have something to look forward to). I'll be running 2 or 3 times a week and doing 30DS on other days. I cannot believe that of the 1st 10lb I lost since New Year, 10lb has crept back on since July or so. It would be good to lose that and a bit more besides.

Had a very weird supper - had planned beans on toast ( Blush ) only to find the bread had gone mouldy (). Had pretty much nothing in as food shop is tomorrow so ended up with an omelette with red pepper, tabasco and philadelphia...was nicer than it sounds! Am proud of myself as 30g of Philly is one point and I duly weighed it out and didn't even lick the spoon - was tempted to so quickly rinsed it in the sink!

I need to loose a stone by Xmas - am lardy 5' 2" increasingly middle-aged mum and need to get my mojo back.

I'm in Oz so heading towards summer here, which will make it easier to lay off the stodge I suppose, and I have the prospect of a hot beach holiday just after Xmas to rather focus my mind.

Today I'm eating porridge and mango for brekky, salad sarnie for lunch lots of fruit and veg for snacks and dinner. Also just water and tea - will try and stop my latte habit and also give up the booze.

Weigh-in for me today! Have lost 1lb 1st week, so now 9st 13lb Grin Very pleased as being ill part of last week meant I wasn't as good as I could've been!

Have been doing lots of de-cluttering all weekend, but ended Sunday afternoon with a long walk in the woods with dc so that was good fun...and a bit of exercise!

Think I may dust off my lycra and 30DS DVD today Grin Could do with a little motivation for that though Hmm

My weigh in is today too. My home scales say I lost 1.2 kilos/2.6 pounds. My official weigh in is with slimming world tonight but I like to weigh at home in the morning. It just somehow feels more accurate in the morning than in the evening Wink

Hi,
DAy 1 for me, i am 5 ft 1 and i now weigh 11st 9lbs. I want to losoe 2.5 stone.
I have gained 1.5 stone sinve about June of this year. I have had a very distressing and stressful summer/autumn but now i dont recognise myself in the mirror.

I feel fat, ugly, uncomfortable and i cannot continue the way i am going and i cannot continue using my bad luck as an excuse to eat myself to death.

Im off to weight watchers tomorrow night for my 1st weigh in, BUT would absolutely LOVE to come here and chat to folk so that we can encourage each other and celebrate our weight loss triumphs Grin

I may have porridge for breakfast.
I don't have much healthy food in so will cut out the bad stuff and do smaller portions and use my exercise dvd.

Day one here too. Got up at 6.30am, did Day 1, Phase 1 of 30-day Shred with DD helpfully pointing out all the stuff I was doing wrong and that I clearly needed to move my arse more Hmm. Had muesli, rasperries and skimmed milk for breakfast. Legs aching like crazy from workout. Lunch is planned and brought with me to work.

Just have to keep telling myself that all the pain's worth it and in 30 days I'll look like Heidi Klum. Or something.....

Am 10stone/5ft 3. Would like to be 9stone for Christmas.

Have a party beginning of December and am going on holiday 10th December so would like to lose as much as possible by then.

Plan to drink loads more water and fill up on healthy snacks as opposed to chocolate. Starting now as have already had a twix this morningBlush.

Sorry, have skimread most of thread as have to go out-are we doing our own weigh in days or is there a joint one?
