FauxFox · 30/10/2011 18:19

Starting on tuesday (Nov 1st) I will be commencing my November boot camp. The rules are:

  1. 30 mins exercise every day
  2. No booze and lots of water
  3. No processed food and lots of fruit and veg

That's it. Easy right? Join me if you want to, i'm aiming to lose at least a stone, (ideally 1.5 stone by middle of Dec) taking me to 10st. I'll be weighing in on Fridays and logging food/exercise diary here to keep on track.

Morning everyone

Day 3 for me...did 20 min cardio Monday/Tuesday. Have one month until first Christmas do and oh my, think I will have to concentrate on stomach/midriff!!

Hope you all have a good day.

Dillinger · 02/11/2011 12:15

Hello all Smile

Did school run walk earlier and just about to go out again. Did the shred this morning, found it more difficult than yesterday as my muscles were achey still. Gotta wait in for an electrician tomorrow so will be doing the dvd after that, or knowing my luck once I get started on the exercise the bloody door will go Grin

Ive some areas that really seem to not want to shift - the 'bingo wing' area and inner/back of thighs. Grr!

Keep going everyone Smile

LuckyC · 02/11/2011 12:29

I'm in! Hey, anyone doing the shred videos, do you have to buy anything else like weights or anything?

Will it bore you all senseless if I list what I eat here?

FauxFox · 02/11/2011 12:39

Feel free to list away Lucky I find that if I post in the morning what I intend to eat that day it helps me plan and stick to good choices rather than mindlessly noshing away!

With the Shred you need hand weights but a couple of cans of tomatoes or whatever will do fine to start with Smile

Please can I join too? I need some pointers and ideas urgently. I am 5'3'' and 11st5lb, I've lost 6lb over the last 6 weeks or so. Its coming off so slowly, and I don't know how to speed it up. I don't eat meat, only fish. Hardly ever eat dairy, so just black coffee and I don't drink. I do 2 spin classes a week, swim between 40-60 lengths 5 times a week and go to the gym 3 times a week. I just don't know what else to do. My body fat is over 30% so its not muscle. Had thyroid tested and its fine so its not that. What am I doing wrong?

LuckyC · 02/11/2011 20:19

Thanks faux

Bluedomino wow, you sound like you are great, great shape with all the gym work and swimming, well done you. I don't know enough about the impact of exercise on eating, but I was reading something the other day that suggested that you had to make sure you were eating enough if you are doing lots and lots of exercise otherwise you can negatively impact weightloss. Are you in fact eating enough? That might just be all weirdness and wrong though - I am a newbie to dieting.

Today I ate:
banana, fat-free greek yoghurt, omelette with 2 eggs and teaspoon butter, quinoa, ratatouille, pitta, fat-free cottage cheese, about to have glass wine (non-negotiable until project ends on 16 Nov.) And outside the plan - 3 boxes raisins, 2 breadsticks

Exercise 40-min walk, chase toddler.

Tomorrow I plan:
Oats + fat-free yoghurt; whichever Eat soup looks least fattening plus bread; some sort of fruit at 5ish; chicken breast grilled with loads of veg. And NN glass red wine. Exercise limited to climbing stairs at office (I commute 3x a week, leave house 6 and back at 8.)

And though I am terrified by the reviews I have ordered the 30-day shred.

Good luck all!

FauxFox · 03/11/2011 07:43

Morning all!

Today is going to be yog breakfast/hummus salad lunch/spag bol and salad dinner.

I have been fab at not picking/snacking so far and drinking lots of water/no booze but I admit to being useless on the exercise front this week Sad I have done plenty of housework but i have a cold and the DS has been unwell and today I have an urgent job to do for work...excuses galore! I am going to try and get this work thing done today so I can go for a run tomorrow morning - wish me luck!

Is it too late to join in? Need a stone and a half off and got a huge chunk of this off on the summer and all my bad ways have crept back. Am 5'4 and 11.3 as of this morning. Would be happy with a 9 on the scales even if the last bit is a 13. Running and heathy eating has to be the way to go and hopefully thus will keep me motivated.

bugsylugs · 03/11/2011 19:51

hoping to get to exercise dvd later once ds settled. hope all are having a good week

thedevilisinthedetail · 03/11/2011 21:48

After a really good start to the week I woke up this morning feeling ill. Decided to try and do the 30 day shred (very foolish!) and could barely get through the warm-up. dd (2) came downstairs with some cuddly toys to use as 'ham weights' which cheered me up but still couldn't get through it. Limped through the rest of the day and then straight to bed when dh came home. After sleep feeling a little more with it but won't be getting up for 6 am run I think. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any other fitness dvds that are good...shred is good but I struggle to stick to it...

FauxFox · 04/11/2011 07:02

Welcome pickle not too late to join Smile

tdiitd I like Davina DVDs - 3 x 30 mins is good (she is a bit cheesy but it's easy to follow and good music etc)

I feel dreadful this morning and have lost my voice (how will I parent without shouting/nagging?!) so no running for me Sad Still being good on food and drink though and although it's only day 4 it's friday so i'm weighing in and have stayed the same, 11st7.

Willpower ran out yesterday Blush, will be a challenging weeked!

Pickle65 · 04/11/2011 09:16

Day 1 went well although meant to start c25k again on week 1 but didn't happen as house full of teenagers after school . Still no wine and no snacks (funny how those go together). Sadly out to dinner tonight so will try and make good choices and will try and run before I go. Hope you feel better, those who are suffering!

LuckyC · 04/11/2011 09:37

Feel so sorry for the sufferers. I can never exercise when I am ill.

Good day all day yesterday, then disaster (gin cocktail, 2 shandies (the shame), followed by M&S wrap / crisps / water meal deal and chocolate on train home - alcohol sapped the willpower.)

Plan extra good day: fruit/yoghurt; ratatoiuille/quinoa; chicken breast/veg; no booze. Exercise - the walk again.

Realised I have forgotten to count the (countless cups of) tea/milk and on London commute days the skinny flat white.

bugsylugs · 04/11/2011 11:47

Morning all, I did not make it to ex dvd as ds had trouble settling then I spent too many hours on mumsnet!!! So V tired today. Off to fireworks tonight.

FauxFox · 05/11/2011 10:03

Bugger. Weighed today and put a pound on and I've been so good. Had a hard day Thursday did a spin class then straight to gym for an hour and then swam in the afternoon, but I wasn't feeling great so went to doctor and I've got a water infection so got antibiotics for a week. Do antibiotics make you put on weight? Today I ate 1 slice of toast and jam, banana. Lunch 1 slice of bread and tin of sardines. Dinner Veg Stew and a dumpling, Apple. Treat was a small chocolate brownie made by the kids.
Pickle65 - I'd settle for 9 with a 13 too!
LuckyC - no I'm in horrible shape, really ashamed of myself, what happens to your body after children have lived in it? Anyone know how much lipo is?
Keep it up ladies, we will do it!

ClaudiaSchiffer · 06/11/2011 10:39

Hi there, I'm a bit late to join but I'd like to start now as am ENORMOUS at the moment and getting very fed up with my lardyness.

It's late here now (Australia) so will weigh in in the morning but am 5'2" and almost reaching 10st .

I need to up my veggie and fruit intake and reduce my carb and junk intake also will join in the booze free month (well def Mon-Fri). At the moment I'm drinking way too much so it'll be good to knock it on the head for a while.

I am such an odd shape too, getting really "apple-y" which is unlike me, I always used to be so trim.

Candid · 07/11/2011 07:11

Another late starter! I've been eating healthy and lost 1.5lbs last week but probably put it back on over the weekend.

I have decided on a no nonsense boot camp approach so this thread looks great.

I'm going to stick to 1000 calories a day during the week (I'm 5ft 2 so its not unreasonably low) and 1300 over the weekend.
I'm not sure I can exercise 30mins every day but I'll do it 4 times a week and make sure two of them are hr long sessions.
I can do the no processed food/no booze and lots of water.

bugsylugs · 08/11/2011 20:34

Hope everyones week is going well, have managed to exercise well last 2 days food bit of an issue charity curry last pm. But no alcohol for a week. Just done shred think i am L1D5 it is getting easier yipee

FauxFox · 09/11/2011 11:41

Well done everyone! Keep going! A week without booze for me (quite an achievement Blush) but i need to do better on exercise...

FauxFox · 10/11/2011 10:16

Well I have finally recovered from horrid cough and went for a 5k run this morning...woohoo! I feel great! Not going to weigh in tomorrow as i haven't been exercising and will just get depressed at staying the same. Holding out to see a nice few lbs off next friday Grin

I found a 2L jug today that i'm going to fill each morning to make sure I drink enough water and I need to do a supermarket shop so i'll stock up on lots of healthy goodies...i'm back in the game!!!

FauxFox · 10/11/2011 14:34

Oh and food today is:
B: Banana
L: Tomato soup and 3 x ryvita
D: Tuna steak with roasted peppers
Snacks: apple, mini box of raisins.

OP posts:
bugsylugs · 10/11/2011 22:48

welldone fauxfox, glad you are feeling better.

FauxFox · 11/11/2011 07:29

Off for another run this morning (unless it really rains in which case i'll get Davina out).

Food is:
B: Yog and fruit
L: tomato soup and 3 ryvita
D: Lamb tagine and cous cous
Snacks: fruit

I couldn't resist a sneaky weigh in and i'm 11st6 so 1lb off...hoping for more next week but at least i'm going in the right direction!

Have a lovely day all.
