No solo I didn't do the lighter life, I've only done weight watchers in the past.

BigBoobiedBertha · 10/11/2011 12:36

Hi ladies, just popping in to say hello so you don't disappear off 'threads I am on' Blush

Not having the best week - it is the evenings. Days I am fine, evenings I am not. Don't really know what to do about it short of going to bed at 8pm and that isn't going to happen!!!

FAB - glad you are OK and your children are settling in their school. It must be a real relief! Only compare increase and decreases of weigh on one set of scales I reckon otherwise it gets confusing - they aren't all accurate so as long as you stick to the same levels of accuracy by sticking to one set of scales to measure your achievements then you will get a clear picture imo. So if your home ones say you have lost 2lb, you have lost 2lb - congratulations!! Smile

Alibaba - Congralations on the dress! You must feel great! Smile
I get where you are coming from on cooking. I am so sick of it. I haven't helped myself because I realised I have been making tea/cooking for over 30 years the other day (have been making tea since I was a teenager and my mum was working F/T) and now I keep thinking how bloody bored I am of it!!!Blush

I can't see me being able to palm it off on my DS's for a few years yet. DS1 would probably end up in hospital without supervision because of his SENs and DS2 is still too little. I like making cakes but I don't really think they are where I should be steering my cooking efforts!

Neverput - Well done on your successes.

VJ - sorry to hear about your suspected gallstones. I suppose at least you have some serious motivation to eat well now.

Sometimes I think it would take something like that to get me losing properly!

Solo - Hope you are OK. Did you mean a few posts ago that you might have negotiated another year off work or are you going back in January?

to Ppeat too! Smile

I know of a group of women that were on the LL diet and they all ended up having to have their gall bladders removed. Coincidence? I doubt it.

Niecie I am still trying to. It doesn't help that a woman that works for JC+ today agreed when I said that those that work for JC+ don't know their arse from their elbow. 'No they don't' she said Shock...so the info I really need is not very forthcoming, though I think my work will probably grant it to me...I just need to know that I'll be paid benefits enough to struggle live on until Jan 2013, and no one can tell me for sure.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 11/11/2011 00:19

Solo what a horrid situation for you, I really feel for you Sad

Going to listen to the CD now and then go to sleep.

ppeatfruit · 11/11/2011 15:09

Hey this is slow today folks!! I was thinking praps you should put a warning on here about the LL solo it's grim aint'it?

VJayazzle · 11/11/2011 18:06

This low fat / fat free diet is working wonders for my pming as I don't fancy eating anything in between meals! I am missing biscuits and chocolate but I'm not missing the pain!
That is scary stuff with the LL diet Shock

Solo · 11/11/2011 23:26

I know, but tbf, I think I'd just get a load of crap about it. I mean, I've no proof, I was just talking to a woman who had done it in a group of gals and 4 of them had...etc.

Solo · 11/11/2011 23:26

And I'm flipping hungry! grrr...

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 11/11/2011 23:39

So eat something! Grin

ppeatfruit · 12/11/2011 08:58

Yes solo !!!! But slowly and consciously!!!! you're probably right about the crap!! Mornin' BTW Smile

BigBoobiedBertha · 12/11/2011 10:11

Hello. I had heard that LL causes gallstones too - I thought it was something to do with liver function because that is linked to the gallbladder and I assumed that it was because of very low carbs like the Atkins diet is supposed to mess up your liver function in the longer term. I spend a minute or two trying to see if my theory was right and found this and this is the medical explanation.

It seems that v low fat could be culprit instead plus not eating solid foods.

It is a bit worrying because being very overweight causes gallstones and losing weight too rapidly causes gallstones so it is a bit of a balancing act. However, i don't think any of us have lost loads in a very short length of time mores the pity (Wink) but it is worth bearing in mind as I am sure some of have more tolerant gallbladders than others! Gallbladder problems have come up more than once on this thread haven't they!? Clearly we must all cherish our gallbladder!! Smile

Solo · 12/11/2011 23:49

Had ver baaad day...

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 13/11/2011 00:17

Hello all Smile We have got our best chums staying this weekend, having a lovely time! It is 4 months since we saw them and they are stunned at how much slimmer I am. So am I tbh, DH took some photos at the park earlier and I actually look ok in them. Like a normal person, not a big fat person Smile And I wore size 16 jeans today, for the first time in 12 years GrinGrin

Solo it is just one day, onwards and downwards Smile I have eaten too much today, although I haven't snacked this evening which is usually my downfall. Too much wine though Blush

Solo · 13/11/2011 00:27

:) good on you Ali. Have a lovely day tomorrow.

Chocolate chip cookies. I never ever buy biscuits, but Dd and I were out today and hungry and I bought them and we've eaten most of them; well, I did.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 13/11/2011 00:31

Biscuits are the work of the devil, because you can eat so many of them so quickly. Somehow over the last week I have polished off an entire Christmas box, you know the massive ones? Blush

Disastrous.

At least they are gone now and you can start again tomorrow in a biscuit-free home Grin

Solo · 13/11/2011 00:56

No, I have 3 left...yummy!

neverputasockinatoaster · 13/11/2011 12:20

Morning (sort of!) everyone!

I weighed myself this morning and am now 16 stone 4 lbs! I am really chuffed.

It is still going well, I am listening to the CD every night and I am eating when hungry, stopping when full and feeling good about the whole thing. I just don't feel like I'm 'dieting' (Probably because I'm NOT!) I seem to have lost that resentful, sulky feeling I get over food and I can actually see myself meeting my goals.

Whoo hooo!

Solo, enjoy the last 3 biscuits!

Regarding the VLC diets and all the meal replacement things, they've always worried me and I think we will actually start to see long term health problems resulting from long term reliance on drastic dieting. There's a lady I wok with who does an extreme diet twice a year, looses loads, then boings right back to where she was and then some.......

Onwards and downwards people!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 13/11/2011 12:43

Sock I know what you mean about that sulky feeling, it is vile isn't it?
I have had it again a few times recently which doesn't please me!

Have listened to the CD twice in the last 3 days which is better than I have managed for ages.

VJayazzle · 13/11/2011 12:58

Well done ali and never, and I love the onwards and downwards Grin

ppeatfruit · 13/11/2011 15:36

Yes brilliant Socks and Ali!!!! Come on now Solo for the O.P who knows exactly what to do!! you need to get a grip, finish the last biscs and START AGAIN PROPERLY TOMORROW!!!!!

ppeatfruit · 13/11/2011 15:42

Or of course eat them slowly and consciously!! I tell you what niecie is correct if you're on a healthy low carb diet with P.M. It works better because you don't crave the sweet things then the salty things (so many junk foods are made of high sugar and salt) that's the problem with eating what you want IMO.

Solo · 13/11/2011 23:31

I ate two of the cookies and Dd ate the third, so they have all gone.

I don't really crave foods anymore, but I love bread and I love pastry and if I have them in the house, I'm sunk.

I do need to knuckle down and listen to the cd's and read the book/fill in the journal ~ both of which I've not done before, but I have SOOO MUCH TO DO at home, that reading is the last thing on the list!

Well done to all you losers btw :) that's great news...keep it up going down!

Solo · 13/11/2011 23:33

Oh yes, meant to say that I hardly ever eat junk foods as I can't afford to.

ppeatfruit · 14/11/2011 08:00

Mornin allSmile That's good Solo well not good you can't afford to IFYKWIM but that you cook from scratch!! Although of course its easy to overdo the salt and sugar in home cooking (some recipes ask for sooo much sugar it amazes me!!)

DH has borderline diabetes type 2 so I'm really careful when cooking cakes etc. i use fructose and or rice syrup which don't bring up yr blood sugar level so fast (not that Dh gives a shxx either way!!).

Solo · 14/11/2011 21:30

It's been nearly 10 years since I added salt to cooking or to my plated meals and I rarely add sugar to anything either :)
