The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONCIOUSLY
  4. STOP when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches so forget diets, they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here is the book on AMAZON which is all you need to get started!

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us. We are friendly, supportive and successful but we're not hungry!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

Much better day today. I've eaten less and had the right thoughts going on.

Solo that is very sainted! I hardly add salt to cooking, but with some things it is a must Grin

ppeatfruit · 15/11/2011 07:41

Well this thread is slowing down isn't it ?Morning all BTW!!

TheOriginalFAB · 15/11/2011 07:48

Morning everyone!

I am full of cold and my period has started so look pregnant, have stomach cramps and my 10 year old is being a teenager Hmm.

Solo · 15/11/2011 10:25

Morning!

Ali I have just learned not to miss it and to taste the food, not the salt. If I eat at Mums house, food tastes horribly salty to me.

Yes pp it is slowing down as has the pauling for me :( but I for one, am not going anywhere!

FAB my Ds started being a teenager at 9, so I think that's about right and wont end until they are about 22 I believe!!!

TheOriginalFAB · 15/11/2011 10:31

Oh no! That has not cheered me up!

obrigada · 15/11/2011 10:37

Morning all, would it be ok if I joined you? Don't have the Paul Mc Kenna book yet but planning on buying it on Thursday (payday).

BigBoobiedBertha · 15/11/2011 10:50

Another one with a pre-teen teen here. The hissy fit strops are a sight to behold especially as I got off very lightly with the toddler tantrums. Is it very wrong to laugh at what a cliche he is turning into to his face?

I mentioned it to the ladies in the junior school office a few months ago in passing as we were chatting and they said they notice that children start acting like teens a lot earlier but if their own teens are anything to go by, they don't stop acting like stroppy teens any earlier, so we just get more of the stroppy teenage stuff to contend with. Nice. Hmm

Anyway, another one here whose period started today so grumpy and fat too. At least it is relatively temporary.... I hope.

And yes ppeat it has been a bit quiet but I think that is partly a symptom of not being able to talk about Pauling constantly. There is only so much you can say. Either you are pootling along and it is going OK or you have fallen off the wagon. I think we all know the rules now so we don't have those to talk about as such - we know what we are supposed to do even if we don't do it. I agree with what you said the other day about getting more philosophical and talking about feelings, motivations and the psychology of weight gain/loss but the urge and the time to do that tend to ebb and flow a bit. You have to have the energy to get into that sort of discussion which we seem to in bursts and then go quiet for a bit.

So long as we try and pop in at least once a week and say hello, I don't think this thread is going to die. At least I hope not!!

Anyway, new leaf has been started here. I have listened to the CD twice in a row which is unheard of for me. I intend to continue every night and I await a miraculous improvement in attitude and weight shortly. Smile

BigBoobiedBertha · 15/11/2011 10:55

Hello obrigada!

Sorry I cross posted with you.

You are very welcome to join us. The book is good and pretty quick to read but if there is anything we can do to help get you started just let us know. Smile

Solo · 15/11/2011 11:10

Hello and welcome obrigada :) yes, please do join us, perhaps some new life in the thread will gee us up a bit.

It's a good way of life and very easy to do even if you do have the odd stop off en route! and we all seem to do so.

obrigada · 15/11/2011 11:13

Thanks Bertha Smile, any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, just seem to be constantly hungry these days, read somewhere that sometimes it can just be a matter of changing habits, so this morning instead of lingering over an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond before work, I dug out the Wii and did 10 mins of step.
Figured in some part of my brain that if I am eating more then maybe if I throw in some exercise that I may counteract the damage I am inflicting on my body

SarahPT · 15/11/2011 11:25

Right then! I need some inspiration!

DD now 5 months and I've just gone back to work

Also have a DS who is coming up to 4

If I'm going to lose the baby belly this side of ever I need some help!

I've had the Paul book etc since before getting pregnant but was pregnant before I had chance to properly try it

Does it work?

It made sense when I read it so I know I should dig it back out and stop making excuses ..., right??!!

Help !!

ppeatfruit · 15/11/2011 12:32

Welcome Obrigada! how are you? Nice to see some newcomers sarah good to hear from you as well and of course we'll help you Smile won't we everyone?

BTW It works very well, it's not difficult esp. once you get used to it and its easy to get back on if you go 'off' it!! I''ve lost 2 and a half stone and I'm maintaining.

The only drawback now is buying new clothes which I'm doing slowly Smile.

ppeatfruit · 15/11/2011 12:39

Bigboob I still remember (and it was a VERY long time ago Grin) my Mum laughing at me when i was young, I hated it and felt very humiliated so maybe something to do privately?

obrigada · 15/11/2011 12:40

Hey ppeat Smile, well done on your weight loss and thanks for welcome onto thread.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 15/11/2011 13:56

Hello obriga and Sarah Smile I have nothing but good things to say about Pauling. It has really helped me sort out my issues around food, and I have lost over a dress size since starting this in April.

For me, the key is to listen to the CD, then everything falls into place.

BigBoobiedBertha · 15/11/2011 16:51

Welcome Sarah. There are plenty of people to show how well it works. I have had a rather prolonged period of losing my way but I am having a better week this week so hopefully this time I will be back on track. My big pitfall is not sleeping enough which isn't what Pauling is all about but certainly has an effect I think - and I don't even have a baby! I hope your DD is letting you get some rest as it will help. Smile

It's alright ppeat. I was being tongue in cheek about laughing - I probably wouldn't ever laugh in his face although I am sure that there will be a bit of eye rolling over his head at DH whilst I still can. He is getting really tall so doing anything over his head (when he isn't looking) will require him to be sitting down and me to be on stilts at the rate he is going!! Smile

Having said that, I see laughing at the absurdity of teenagers as a bit of a shock tactic - only to be used in extreme curcumstances but effective if used occasionally to get them to (hopefully) realise how unreasonable they are being and have a laugh at themselves too. Handle with care though!

ppeatfruit · 15/11/2011 18:01

The thing about being a teen or pre teen is they are pushing the boundaries aren't they? It's biology aint 'it? they can't see themselves. I remember thinking I knew it all, still do a bit Grin but at least now i can see it!!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 15/11/2011 22:34

BBB - glad you are getting back on track :) DH and I are going to see the school in your part of town next week, we did a reconnoiter today and got lost Blush

Our DN turned into a teenager when she was 10, almost overnight. She is now an actual teen and in many ways much improved so have hope!

ppeatfruit · 16/11/2011 09:04

Morning all Smile

BigBoobiedBertha · 16/11/2011 09:18

Are you going to K Alibaba? Did you find it? I can point you in the right direction if you need me to! Smile

Had DS2 home with a low grade temp this week. Am not happy. I am missing my course today.

And I stand to miss it again on 30th if the teachers strike again.

alfiemama · 16/11/2011 09:18

Hi everyone (morning ppea{waves}). ppeatfruit suggested I pop over to this thread.
I have tried PM before and have to say I was successful at stopping eating bread using his techniques. However, I very stupidly started eating it again and now have bad IBS. I am going to give the blood diet a go. I know PM says not to diet, but I have to try and give some things up in my diet/lifestyle.

obrigada · 16/11/2011 09:55

Morning :) Welcome Alfie, I just joined the thread yesterday, haven't read the book yet, but hope to get it tomorrow.

alfiemama · 16/11/2011 10:04

Morning obrigada. The book is really good. I told myself bread tasted of sprouts. I literally had to force myself to eat it again, because I was struggling with food on the go. It really does work.

obrigada · 16/11/2011 11:26

Alfie, probably strange question, but why would you tell yourself bread tasted of sprouts, is that something Paul suggests in the book?

ppeatfruit · 16/11/2011 14:49

obrigada yes P.M. does aversion techniques in his seminar and on his CDs B.T.W. have you seen how yr. blood type thread has taken off? Welcome back alfie nice to see you on here!!Grin
