Phoenix my goodness what a nightmare, were you all at home when it started? Were you on this thread before under a different name? I've got confused with who has changed and who is just themselves!!

stripygiraffe · 24/01/2012 15:56

Hi all

Kinky and Solo that's awful about your houses. Our houses should be our safe havens shouldn't they? Awful when things go wrong Sad
I'm trying to buy a house just now and rent out my flat but the nervous eating has got me Angry. I need to find my mojo again.

Welcome any newbies.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/01/2012 17:22

DH has a job - phew.

stripy it is hard isn't it? I've been in a state the last few days worrying about our lack of income after next month, fortunately that is now resolved so perhaps I can focus again. I hope you get your house sorted.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 24/01/2012 17:51

I only joined this thread a couple of weeks ago but was around on chat as havealittlefaithbaby before the fire.
DH and I were in, asleep in bed. No dcs yet. Been ttc for two years, recently discovered it was male issues causing the problems. That's my big motivator, now he's on treatment I want to be as healthy as possible cos I might just get upduffed soon!
I felt a bit miffed today. Two women at work said they were on diets/never been so heavy so I said Paul Mckenna and they laughed and said ha I'm going with healthy diet and exercise . Mind you, they were whinging about being hungry and I wasn't. I've tried healthy diet and exercise and I felt deprived re food and unmotivated re exercise. Now I'm really enjoying food and am motivated to exercise. Time will tell who is more successful! :)

HeyNonnyNo · 24/01/2012 21:56

Kinky and solo, sorry to hear about the house trouble. Being a grown up with responsibilities sucks sometimes. And kinky, I think of you and your daughter often. Ali, hurray at dh's new job!

I've been a bit busy chasing plumbers and builders, and got a bit fed up at my shoddy pauling. But, GrinI lost more weight!10st2 today, 4lbs less than last week! So shoddy pauling plus couch to 5k is working! Whoop! Would go out and party in celebration but already tucked up in bed having done perilously early dream feed...wish me luck tonight...

Solo · 24/01/2012 22:29

Excellent news Ali :)

I have really lost my way today. I went into farmfoods to buy milk and came out with biscuits. I never buy biscuits. Ever!! worse is that I've been eating them. I'm going to be a very fat matron of honour at this rate :(

ppeatfruit · 25/01/2012 08:30

Blimey pheonix that's frightening about the plugged in food proc. I'll tell DH that Grin.

BTW yr work mates sound ignorant. I've combined P.M. with a very healthy blood type way of eating and it has worked like a dream. Other posters on this page say things like " i don't like mind control" and I reply if they watch ads on telly or drink coffee or alcohol etc. then you are having yr mind controlled without EVEN realising it at least with P.M. you CHOOSE to !!

Oh dear Solo! you never said what you thought about the photos of P.M on the yacht that BB posted.

Many Congrats heynonny and Ali.

Iam hopefully having my very late b\day meal with dh today and tomorrow off to Blighty for nearly 2 weeks for catsitting and GD b\day and sitting.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 25/01/2012 10:02

Yikes DH doesn't have a job after all, the client has pulled the plug on the contract. Back to the drawing board...

Perhaps we need to do a Lottery syndicate on this thread, would solve a lot of problems AND we could pay PMK to come over here and hypnotise us all individually into losing all the weight!

Nonny well done on that weight loss Grin

stripygiraffe · 25/01/2012 12:05

So I've clambered back on the wagon today. Aiming to make good choices when I am hungry.

Oh dear Ali getting your hopes up is the worst. Sad

Solo · 25/01/2012 12:39

Just looked at the pictures you mentioned pp mm, mmm, mmmmmmmmm!!!

I don't think he is married btw.

Solo · 25/01/2012 12:39

Bugger!!! Ali I'm so sorry! that's horrible.

ppeatfruit · 26/01/2012 08:22

No not now solo there's hope for you Grin ]smile] .

Brilliant idea about the lottery Ali then we could afford to convert our back little farm and cottages and you could all come to fr. for yr. holyers!!!

I'm off today so you all soon Smile I'll miss you Sad Keep Pauling Smile and wish everyone happier news. Smile

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 26/01/2012 08:39

Ali that sucks. Hope something else comes along soon. My DH works in a builders merchant so the retail side with the self employed, things are slow at the moment. Think we're all still feeling the pinch :(
Good work stripy. Stay motivated!
Went running again last night. Improved my speed/distance. Realised c25k won't get me race fit in 9 weeks so switched to ease into 10k . Ease? ease?! ha! But I can now run 1/3 of the way....

movingonwardsorsidewards · 26/01/2012 21:19

hi everyone,

I started listening to the cd about 1 week ago and read the book. then i felt annoyed that i wasnt even trying to follow the rules. BUT in the last few days i have felt more motivated to exercise, i have been doing the shred for about 6days now.

I have also started logging what i eat on myfirness pal. i know that you are not meant to be using any other type of diet plan but i feel i need to monitor it for now.

Also yesterday and today i seem to feel fuller quicker, i have also started eating my dinner out of a bowl, although it is a full bowl of food.

From any of you that have been successful does tis sound like it has started to kick in to you? Smile

movingonwardsorsidewards · 26/01/2012 21:20

ps - also i dont really get to listen to much of the cd as i go to sleep quite quickly with it, which i like as i sometimes have problems sleeping.

KinkyDorito · 26/01/2012 21:20

Make me stop.

Emergency trip to hospital with DD last night with nasty pain/not being able to breathe/collapsing/bright white episode. They couldn't explain it, kept us in last night, scanned her today and have sent us away telling me to keep an eye on her.

It was scary.

And now it has settled down, I find myself eating things and thinking about eating. I know it just makes it worse for me, but it's like I need something to console me for the shit 24hrs we had.

Ali I hope he gets sorted soon. I like the lottery suggestion. I could do with my financial worries going away.

Phoenix PMSL at ease into 10k. Hahahahaha Grin

ppeat enjoy your trip. Have you taken PMK with you (on CD, not in person, although I'm sure you wouldn't say no...)?

Hi to Solo Stripy and Nonny. I hope everyone is okay Smile.

KinkyDorito · 26/01/2012 21:22

moving Xpost. I did feel much more motivated to exercise straight away. I'm finding now it's been 3 weeks I'm drifting, but that's because circumstances are being an arse. Good luck with it.

movingonwardsorsidewards · 26/01/2012 21:27

kinky - thanks, I hope your dd is ok now... Wow that is scary, try not to be too hard on your self and make sure you listen to your cd tonight and tomorrow is a new day xx

Have you been exercising much?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/01/2012 21:31

Oh Kinky :( Bigs hugs my love, it must be so frightening for you all :(

In terms of the eating, you need some kind of displacement activity - have you tried the tapping, does it work for you?

Phoenix - that is extremely impressive! I cannot run, and I can't bring myself to try. The thought of my backside wobbling along behind me as I go is enough to make me Grin You go girl.

moving - this has been gradual for me, I suddenly realise that I'm eating less, less often and doing less thinking about food inbetween times. Stick with it and you will get there :)

Have a lovely holiday ppeat

I have had a brilliant day on the PMKing front today. I have started listening to the CD during the day rather than at bedtime, and it is really working. I only have to listen a couple of times a week and it seems much more effective.

Weigh-in for me in the morning.

movingonwardsorsidewards · 26/01/2012 22:01

good luck with the weigh in tomorrow. I am not allowed to weigh until weds next week. normally i am a weighing addict and weigh myself probably 5 times per day, but i have hidden my scales under the bed.

But I did weigh myself at my mums the other day as the scales were just there looking at me when i went to the bathroom. Blush

but i'm not counting that one as its not my normal scales.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 26/01/2012 22:02

moving I'm much the same. Rules make me feel I have control of my food. The cd is played as we drift off and I often struggle to sleep. I've just found myself really motivated to exercise, virtually everyday since I started!
I'm not a runner, really really! But I wanted to do something drastic to challenge myself fitness wise and a local 10k in March was just far enough from Christmas to seem achievable but not so far as to not motivate me. What's funny about running is how actually people seem to encourage you! I had one I assume cheeky comment from a teenage boy once but I had my headphones in so I just shrugged and carried on. But others runners will smile and encourage you. One family with kids in the car waved and gave me a thumbs up on Sunday! Keeps me motivated Grin
I ache tonight though, after a run yesterday, gym today then unpacking (yay!) my stuff from the cleaners who took it away after the fire, I'm shatterd. Had a bath and an early night.
kinky your poor love, how terrifying for you. I'm glad to hear she's stable enough to come home. I think you're amazing how you handle it. Don't beat yourself up, like moving says, start again in the morning.

DorisIsWaiting · 27/01/2012 09:31

Kinky really sorry to hear about your scare.

I think that's the joy of PM tomorrow is always a new day and you can start afresh and get back on the wagon...

fingers crossed things strat to improve for you soon.

I'm not being very good at the moment have forgotton to slow doan and focus on the food when I eat it, and goiung to try extra hard today...it's also a run night tonight oh hum, it will be worth it in the end.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 27/01/2012 09:44

Morning all Smile

Weigh in today, and I've lost the vast sum of .2 of a pound, yes not even half a pound Grin
Never mind, it is the right direction and I am finding the rules easy atm so all good.

stripygiraffe · 27/01/2012 10:00

Hi all

Kinky thoughts and prayers are with your family. You just seem such an astoundingly strong person.

Can I ask a question. For breakfast I have a muesli type cereal with nuts which I live but I find so filling. I can't finish it despite serving smaller and smaller portions.
I think I'm just not hungry yet but it has been drilled in to me for so long that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Is it ok to wait and eat later? Usually after nursery run. Or is this ad for my metabolism? I thought you had to eat first thing to get it started for the day.

BigBoobiedBertha · 27/01/2012 10:50

Hello!

Kinky - so sorry you are having a tough time. Sad I hope your DD is feeling a bit better today and your anxiety levels can drop just a tiny bit. I can't imagine the pressure you are under at the moment.

Stripy - I think you just need to remember to eat when you are hungry and not worry about when that is. I think that PMcK says not to worry about breakfast and listen to your body (could be wrong, it might be somebody else Blush). It goes against the principle to eat when you aren't hungry. I am never hungry when I get up. It takes at least an hour before I can face food, sometimes longer. There would be no point forcing it. I do have a drink of water though because I am thirsty. Nuts are very filling too - I can handle endless pieces of toast and jam (well probably 3 slices before you get the idea I sit here with a loaf and a jar of jam a day) but I would struggle to eat more than a slice of toast with peanut butter. That can only be a good thing so if your portions are getting smaller and you aren't any hungrier, go with it. That is good news! Smile

Alibaba - Sorry to hear your DH's job offer fell through. Are you going back to starting your own business or is he going to look for a job? The uncertainty is horrible though, isn't it? DH spent several years as a contractor and the change over period between contracts was very stressful. Well done on the 0.2lb - every little helps.Smile

ppeat - enjoy your trip - always seems weird that the closer you are to the rest of us the less we hear from you but I hope you have a good time. Smile

HeyNonnyNo - well done on your loss [smile

Moving and Phoenix - Well done for getting more exercise. I just wish I could follow your example.

Solo - Hope you are OK.

Had a bit of a mad week this week and haven't been concentrating on anything much, let alone proper Pauling but I am slowly working my way through the book again and getting re-enthused. Not stood on the scales for a few days and wouldn't like to speculate on their movement. I have had some really good days and some real buggers as far as food is concerned, as usual tied up with how tired I am. Maybe what I really need is a 'sort the sleep out' thread!
