I thought it was 25k too! :)
stripy are you drinking enough water? I struggle too around af. I wonder if part of the trouble is water retention? It means you appear heavier and makes you want carbs I think
Well I had a cheeky weigh in tonight bit early I know and I've lost 6lbs! I'm well chuffed :) thought I'd lost some but I'm Shock

BigBoobiedBertha · 20/01/2012 21:49

Stripy - it is probably AF. We did, for a little while, have a self imposed rule about no weighing around the time of AF because it makes things look bad. If it is any consolation at all I am suffering the same with carbs. I have been ravenous for the last 3 days. Really hungry. Proper tummy rumbling hungry. It is a bit disconcerting! I am putting it down to AF that's my story and I am sticking to it.Smile

I bet if you weight again in the middle of next, say, it will be down. And anyway, 1/2 lb is 1/2lb. Not to be sneezed at.

Alibaba - well done on ground breaking new territory. Grin

ppeat - I didn't think he was married! I thought I had read somewhere that he thought of himself as a bit of a ladies man and not inclined to set down. Now you tell me there were 2 wives!! Shock

I think the pictures were 2010 although how I know that I have no idea. Saw it somewhere. Yes he is somewhat lacking in the hair department, up top but I don't think is the end of the world personally. I wonder if he could use hypnosis to grow it back Now that really would be a money making enterprise if he could pull that off!Grin

BigBoobiedBertha · 20/01/2012 22:03

Oh sorry Phoenix I've just seen you've lost 6lbs! Thats brilliant. Well done.! Grin

movingonwardsorsidewards · 21/01/2012 01:17

Hey everyone,

I have been listening to the cd for the past 3 nights, but for some reason I'm really not following the rules. But on the plus side.I did the shred dvd 2night and feel motivated to exercise at the moment, so maybe the cd is helping with that.

babysbreath · 21/01/2012 08:05

Morning ladies

Phoenix well done for losing 6lbs, fantastic news.

Stripy at least it is going in the right direction, although not as much as you wanted. Hopefully next week will see a bigger loss.

ppeatfruit · 21/01/2012 10:29

morning all! Smile Heynonny It's hard for me to aim a kick at yr. backside, well I'd have to kick mine as well (a bit difficult Grin) 'cos my own cooking is also my weakness!! I have to eat 1 or2 while they're cooling and then PUT THEM AWAY!!! if you wrap them in greaseproof they can cool without moulding.
stripey It's going the right way ! Are your clothes looser? i don't use the scales much at all I just go by my clothes and the mirror of course.

Pheonix Well done!!.Solo what do you reckon the pix? i like BBB s description of looking a bit like a bank manager on holidays!! DH has more hair and he's 63 Shock His belly's a LITTLE bigger than S.G'S though Grin.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 22/01/2012 00:11

Well stupidly I decided to bake the sausage rolls off last week's Great British Bake Off. They are delicious, and go especially well with a glass of chilled Sauvignon. Whoops. Grin

ppeatfruit · 22/01/2012 09:12

Morning all! Ali oh dear! Grin I posted on the British Bake Off thread about those sausage rolls wondering if it was those that had contributed to the increased size of Paul Hollywoods' belly!!! It's quiet ATM isn't it? maybe everyones out on a jolly this weekend.[envious]

babysbreath · 22/01/2012 11:15

Hi Ali and pp I am here (gives a wave!).

I weighed myself yesterday and have lost nothing! I really don't know what I am doing so wrong. So went a little bit mad with my food and alcohol intake last night, so trying to be good again. So in the three weeks I've only lost two b**y pounds!

DorisIsWaiting · 22/01/2012 11:51

I've not lost a huge amount 3lbs this week and 3/4 of a lb last week. Still I am not going to let it get me down I am now 3/4 lb away from the 12 stone bracket. I'm doing this for the long haul not a short term fix.

Have started week 3 on C25K and going to play on the wii tonight maybe some yoga...

well done to ladies who have lost and comsierations to those who've not done as well as they'd hoped.

BigBoobiedBertha · 22/01/2012 12:29

Hello ladies!

Babysbreath - Sorry you haven't lost anything. It is a bummer isn't it? SadIt hurts more if you have held off weighing all that time and then find you have lost nothing! (It is partly why I don't stick to the 2 week rule - my one cheat).

Re not losing much, I was reading somewhere that it is harder to lose weight if your weight was still going up when you started than if you start losing weight when you are stable and have been the same weight for a while. The reason is that your body hasn't found the right balance between calories taken in and calories being used up so you are going to have to reduce food consumption more to take into account that weight you would have put on and reduce it even more to also start losing. If you weren't gaining then every reduction you make should be making your weight go down straight away. I hope that makes sense. I should probably just copy the paragraph out of the book (Thin Secrets: How to be Slim without Dieting) and not try to paraphrase! I think it explains why sometimes people plateau when they have been losing for a while. They need their body to find that energy going in/energy going out balance again.

The book is not a diet book by the way - it is quite in tune with PMcK just without the hypnosis. It's another take on why diets fail from the point of view of how diet eating is different from thin person eating and why the weight won't come off.

stripygiraffe · 22/01/2012 14:36

Hi everyone

I'm trying to gee myself up as everything has just gone to pot (except drinking water - in good at that).
I stopped eating conciously, stopped stopping when full, started eating just for the sake of it.

I listened to the trance this morning and and concentrating as much as I can. Need to get back in the zone. Back to basics - I'm going to leave something on my plate until it starts to click again.

stripygiraffe · 22/01/2012 14:37

Sorry so self centred there.

Congrats to all who are losing - you are inspiring me. Commiserations to the others. You may sit by me and wallow for a short while.

ppeat clothes not feeling looser Angry

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 22/01/2012 14:46

I was going to.say exactly what bbb said. As an analogy, imagine you're going fast in a car, suddenly you slam the car into reverse, it'll pause initially before you head backwards! Staying the same is better than gaining but I know it's disheartening...
I've gymmed three times and run twice this week. Improved my time/distance but I have a long way to go.10k 9 weeks today Shock Think I need to run more...

babysbreath · 22/01/2012 15:10

BBB and PFTF I understand what you are trying to say, so I am holding on to this way of thinking Wink

Congratulations to all the losers! and sorry to all the others like me.

BigBoobiedBertha · 22/01/2012 16:05

Excellent analogy Phoenix - you said in half the words what I was trying to say. Grin

Babysbreath - it will come good in the end, you just have to hold your nerve! Smile

Sparklingbrook · 22/01/2012 16:08

The book is still sitting there looking at me, I haven't opened it yet. Sad

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 22/01/2012 16:15

Thanks :)
Open it, sparkling! It is full of wise words. What struck me was overweight people think about food most of the time, except when they're eating . It made me realise I don't didn't enjoy my food because I never concentrated on it! I've weighed in at my sisters today and the Wii reckons I've lost 7lb since New Years Eve. Funny because I've had 'naughty' food, even had scones with jam and cream!

DorisIsWaiting · 22/01/2012 16:16

sparkiling I started trying to just gently apply the rules, then I started reading a chapter and listening to the cd.

i haven't done any of the pressure point stuff ...yet ( I will but I need time to focus..)

Sparklingbrook · 22/01/2012 16:17

I am stressing because I feel I need to read the whole book in one go before I can put it into practice IYKWIM.

BigBoobiedBertha · 22/01/2012 16:20

It is a very quick read Sparkling. There aren't a lot of words to the page and I think he starts repeating himself a bit so towards the end I started skimming - the important bit is at the beginning. You could have most of it done in an evening if you had the chance to sit and read.

Sparklingbrook · 22/01/2012 16:22

I will read it tonight in bed I think. What about the DVD and CD do I need to do them before the book?

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 22/01/2012 16:23

I read some of the book on evening confess borrowed my sister's copy and am about to buy a copy for myself and I've applied it ok!

BigBoobiedBertha · 22/01/2012 16:24

Book first.

Don't have the DVD so I can't comment but the CD won't make sense unless you understand the thinking behind it. Not that it won't work exactly but you can do PMcK if you know the rules and have read the book but you can't do it if the only thing you do is listen to the CD.

IMO anyway.Smile

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 22/01/2012 16:24

Since the cd is only semi-conscious just start went you can.
