The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT

Yes I did mean smarmy - but I also hate hairless (chests) too so it covers both!! Grin

We are having the uber-lazy option of freezer fish and chips with peas for tea. I cannot face trying to cook.

I think the lurgy is mastitis, sore boob and temp :( I may have to send DH out for chocolate later, there are some days where it is NEEDED!

Solo · 19/01/2012 16:23

Ooooh!

MardyBra · 19/01/2012 18:19

Bertha Feel free to come and discuss with the perimenopausals. TMI obligatory.

I've decided I need to listen to the trance at least every 24 hours, as I think that if I don't, I find it harder to eat slowly and stop when full. I have a theory that some people respond better to the hypnosis that others, and whilst I respond to a certain extent, it wears off quite quickly. Does this make sense to anyone?

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 19/01/2012 19:24

It makes sense mardy. I'm trying to get in the habit of doing it every night though DH requests a 'rest' on Saturday! because I feel like it steps me up for the next day.
Now, be proud of me - I just went for a run! I'm doing the Lincoln 10k on 25th March..signed up to scare myself into stepping my exercise a gear or seven . I downloaded a couch to 5k so we did day one tonight, interval training. Really tough to start with but I found the sprinting easier towards the end. That was 1/4 of the distance I have to do! Shock
Also I have a milka with daim that I bought yesterday in the fridge. I had some last night and a couple of nibbles tonight. There's still a 1/3 of it left! It's a.miracle! Grin

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 19/01/2012 19:25

sets me up. Duh.

Solo · 19/01/2012 22:33

Oooh, Mardy I might come along to that thread too...

HeyNonnyNo · 19/01/2012 22:36

Good evening paulers. I've fallen off the wagon and am now clambering back on. We've got builders replacing our minging bathroom and in all the kerfuffle I kinda forgot I was pauling. I have been feeling too full quite quickly (clutching at straws!)
Fwiw I am firmly in the Paul m c k, ew noooo, really? camp.

Night all

BigBoobiedBertha · 20/01/2012 00:13

Imo chests should be hairy (but not shoulders -ewww no) unless the gentleman has the body of an Adonis and then I might let him off. Obviously such specimens are few and far between and I doubt such a physique lurks until the nice blazer and shirt of our very own Mr McK. But then that just makes the whole chocolate/curry thing even more bleurgh. Much as I love chocolate, I don't like it hairy.

Mardybra - thank you for the link to the perimenpausal thread. I shall go and look and also feel very old.

KinkyDorito · 20/01/2012 07:05

I like a hairy chest too...

No PMK sex dreams yet, but I think it's only a matter of time given I am listening to the CD lots at the moment. All those subliminal 'you will fancy me' messages going in.

Hi all

Ali Mastitis is horrible. I hope you are feeling better today and that it isn't that Sad.

Phoenix I did run 1 of C25k, then it got icy Blush. I intend to start again when the weather is a bit milder . I quite fancy myself as a runner (if I ignore my girth). I also would like to do some charity events for DD.

Hey Fwiw I am firmly in the Paul m c k, ew noooo, really? camp Grin I think we should start a tally.

DD is once again bloody neutropenic (high infection risk) and has low platelets too (poor clotting). Marvellous. She's been taken off her chemo pills for a week to let her recover, but she still had her strong chemo yesterday too, so will probably feel a bit shitty today. Dr says she should still be going to school if she feels okay in herself - which she should do next week. In fairness, most of the infections cancer patients pick up are from bugs in their own bodies, not external sources. Some things like chicken pox and measles are quite dangerous. DD always has a cold at the moment too. It's never ending. Just when I was feeling hopeful that things were improving.

I will not turn to the cupboard. Repeat. I will not turn to the cupboard.

ppeatfruit · 20/01/2012 07:26

Morning everyone Smile AAAH Kinky Sad sending love to yr DD is she prescribed high doses of vitamins and minerals to keep up her immunity?

Mardy Sorry to reply on here but my compooter won't allow me to reply to yr. message! I DO remember you of course! There's so much going on here I didn't notice yr post saying you were returning, sorry again Blush

Solo We should not be ashamed of our love for our S.G. [grin) !!!!! I was referring to smooth chests in reference to putting chocolate on it otherwise even I wouldn't be that impressed EWW to Hairy Chocolate an aversion therapy IMO!! Did someone say that ? !!!!!! Grin

To all you perimeno. types I say EVENING PRIMROSE OIL and or CAMOMILE supplements and or strong tea. And take more than they say on the bottle of EVPO.

KinkyDorito · 20/01/2012 07:43

Morning ppeat It's not so much low immunity as having none. She has very few of the white blood cells that fight infection as chemo reduces them, then if she gets a virus (like the cold she has now) they reduce further. The only way to increase their numbers is to stop chemo for a little bit so they can increase again. But, she can't have too many otherwise the chemo would stop working and the leukaemia would come back. If she gets an infection, she's at risk of neutropenic sepsis, which she's had before, which can kill them.

There's not much we can do, tbh. It's a juggling act of medication and frequent blood checks to adjust the dose to keep her counts within a certain 'safe' range. When children die of cancer, it often isn't the cancer, it's the result of the chemo/infection combination. Obviously without it though, they wouldn't survive. It's just shit. Sad

stripygiraffe · 20/01/2012 09:56

Kinky my heart goes out to you and your DD. I admire the strength you have to juggle everything and be a great mummy to her. Also for getting the PMK wagon and the C25k and concentrating on your health as well as hers.
I'll sponsor you if you run for charity.

ppeatfruit · 20/01/2012 10:06

Thats terrible kinky Sad

DorisIsWaiting · 20/01/2012 10:13

Hello ladies can I join I bought the book and cd after christmas and I'm finding it more challenging than I thought I would.

I am naturally a fast eater (several years in the military where it is encouraged to eat at breakneck speed). Slowing down and leaving something on my plate (a nightmare as I am a fully paid up member of the clean plate club with dd2 who HAS to eat 150% more calories due to her medical condition so is encouraged to clean her plate!)

I find PM goes quite fast in the hypnosis bit and I struggle to get into the groove (I also don't like his voice very much) I've done a prenatal birthing cd before and that was a lot slower and more relaxing but I am determined to persist as despite the irritating voice what pm says does make sense!

I'm doing the C25K too. Well done for taking time out when you have so much other stuff on your plate!!

BigBoobiedBertha · 20/01/2012 10:38

Hi Doris. Welcome to our little thread. You are in the right place - occasionally when we stop talking about Paul McKenna's chest hair we do actually have some sensible and helpful things to say.Grin

Re the clearning plate thing (she says putting on her sensible hat) you can either put less on your plate - you can always go back for more it you are not satisfied - or if that doesn't work, get a smaller plate. Depends what you find easier. Either way, you would continue to set a good example for your DD and clear your plate but be reducing your food intake at the same time.

I think though, that we all appreciate how difficult it is to eat consciously and slowly when you are telling your DC not to chuck food on the floor or to stop using their fingers! Are you with them for all your meals? Maybe if you get a break from them, practise the techniques of slow eating and leaving stuff on your plate when they aren't around so that it gets a chance to get ingrained so you still do it when you have to half a mind on them when they are with you. It might take longer but you will get there in the end.

BigBoobiedBertha · 20/01/2012 10:45

Whoops pressed send too soon.

Wanted to say that I am thinking of you too Kinky and wishing you and your DD well. I hope you get back to something resembling normality soon. Smile

BigBoobiedBertha · 20/01/2012 10:49

For some reason I have just spent precious minutes of my life that I will never see again wondering what is actually under the blazer and shirt and found [http://www.zimbio.com/photos/Paul+McKenna/Simon+Cowell+in+St+Tropez/Cvhmddzx0_u this] which I suppose isn't bad for a man of his age although I do think he looks a bit like a bank manager on a jolly in some of the pics.

I am sorry to say though some of the captions say he is with his wife. Shock

BigBoobiedBertha · 20/01/2012 10:51

Pah why didn't that work!? Blush

Try again.

this

Daft bat - forgot the correct number of brackets.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/01/2012 11:50

Hi Doris Smile I tend to put less on my plate, in fact portion sizes for DH and I have gone down a lot and he has lost nearly half a stone since Christmas without even trying!

Kinky Sad You are doing so well when you have such a lot on your plate.

Friday is weigh day and I have lost another pound! Very chuffed because I'm now into new territory for recent years. I have hit 13 9 a few times and never got below, and today I am 13 7.
I must make the time to exercise, because things are looking a little floppy!!

Sparklingbrook · 20/01/2012 12:07

Hello. The book CD/DVD has arrived. Grin

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/01/2012 15:23

Ooh just in time for the weekend Sparkling! You will be amazed at the difference once you listen to the CD.

Kinky going back to what you said up thread about susceptibility to hypnosis - I think I am the same. I need to listen every couple of days or I start eating the amount I think I should rather than what I actually need based on appetite.

Doing v.well today Smile

ppeatfruit · 20/01/2012 18:10

Hooray good going Ali! And sparkling Cor thanks for the Pix BBB How old are they? cos he said last year he's finished with his 2nd wife which looking at the body language was on the books then i would say !!!. Though I don't know why but i MUCH prefer him in a crisp shirt actually he hasn't much hair on his head either has he? poor bloke!!! good to see he DOESN'T work out though I HATE them beefcake muscle bound types.

stripygiraffe · 20/01/2012 18:48

Hi guys. I'm a bit down Sad it was weigh in day today and I've only lost 1/2lb in 2 weeks Sad

I'm trying to be pragmatic and say that at least it's a loss. I wonder if it matters at all that although I listen to the trance almost everyday I zone out so quickly now. I don't even do the backwards counting.

It's been AF this week and carbs were all I wanted. Should I be trying to make better decisions with what I allow myself to eat?

HeyNonnyNo · 20/01/2012 19:14

Yay to ali for all that lost weight! How's the boob?

Oh kinky you and dd are in my thoughts. Big hugs to you both.

stripy it's a learning curve, and if you've lost a bit then you're not getting anything very wrong.

Aim some butt kicks this way please. I am weak in the face of cake and biscuits lovingly made for the many men visiting this weekend. I may weigh myself as punishment

I am determined to crack this. It's so fundamental to not turning into my obese mother.

HeyNonnyNo · 20/01/2012 19:19

Ooh and I'm another c25k er. On week 2 so far. I thought you were all going on about running 25 k and got v scared indeed. Grin
