The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONCIOUSLY
  4. STOP when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches so forget diets, they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

It wasn't to do with being thinner, just about his new book on memory and exams and learning and stuff (I think, I didn't see most of it except the bit where he made Alex Jones forget the word 'one' which was amusing).

Only mentioned it because Solo and ppeat have a bit of crush thing going on. Grin

MardyBra · 17/01/2012 16:11

Two week weigh in today. Lost a pound and a half. But to be fair, I was really busy last week and didn't really follow the rules and got pissed at the weekend or listen to PMK on my ipod much. Refocussing now, and doing really well today.

ppeatfruit · 17/01/2012 16:16

Good luck on the buying front stripey where's yr flat? " I've got 3 Dcs who are looking for new flats!

Our step away from the cupboard advice" is always followed by "unless you are really hungry in which case "Eat slowly and consciously and stop when you're full" Grin

Solo did you notice the LL thread ? ( i actually emailed that programme yesterday but they ignored it Sad.

phi40 · 17/01/2012 17:11

Thanks for the welcome. Amazon have shipped the book, so should be here long before the weekend - then onwards to a balanced approach to food.I Hope. I am so fed up with finding myself always loitering around the fridge and cupboard. I just want to be a healthy weight and my clothes to bloody fit!!

KinkyDorito · 17/01/2012 18:17

Not doing great today Sad. Have to have meeting at work tomorrow and I'm really wound up about it. I want to empty the cupboards and stuff it all in my mouth. I've struggled all day, but haven't given in yet. I do know I've eaten past full though at my meals.

Emotional eating is an arse.

AgathaPonsonbySmythe · 17/01/2012 20:18

Kinky Dorito - I couldn't agree more. Emotional eating is indeed an arse. I've had a crappy end of the day and the food is calling me....

Large cup of tea here I come.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/01/2012 21:43

Ah kinky be kind to yourself, you have a hard road to tread at the moment. Sad

I am also struggling a bit today. DH gets made redundant at the end of the month and as yet has nothing lined up. There is a fair bit out there for him and he is getting interviews sorted out, and we are also starting our own business (scary) so everything is going to be fine, but the uncertainty is getting to me and expressing itself via my appetite!

I read the emotional eating chapter of the book again, because I knew it wasn't real hunger, but food did help. I wish I could have just sat down and listened to the CD, or gone to read a book or something to distract myself - but not possible with 2 boys clamouring for food and attention! Grin

KinkyDorito · 17/01/2012 21:55

It's all the uncertainty Ali, that's what gets me too. I don't know what will happen next, and I like to be able to plan things. I can completely see where you are coming from. I do hope he manages to get himself sorted out - it certainly sounds like he's got plenty lined up and how exciting about your business!

Agatha I've been on the big tea too Grin. Trying to resist takeaway pizza. I know I can eat if I want it, but I also know if I ordered one now in my current frame of mind, the whole thing would go with garlic bread and chips on the side. I am making do with my camomile and spiced apple tea bag. Not the same. But at least I can feel pleased that it's one more day down without me caving in.

BigBoobiedBertha · 17/01/2012 22:35

Hi ladies. Interesting what you said about uncertainty Kinky. I was watching 'Doctors' whilst having my lunch today (I know, I know I should be concentrating on the food but still...) and somebody said something about how if you self sabotage or continue with old ways of behaving you are certain of the results even if they are not the results your really want. If you try hard for something you don't really know if you are going to achieve it or what the outcome will be and what effect it will have on your life. They weren't talking about food but I thought it was actually quite an accurate assessment of why some of us keep doing what we doing whether it is eating too much or drinking too much or any other destructive or disruptive behaviour. Quite profound for a Tuesday lunchtime! Anyway, you are doing well to resist the cupboard with all that you have on your plate at the moment. I hope that things go well for you this week and you come to a compromise with your job that you can live with.

Alibaba - v. exciting about the new business. What line of work are you in?

Hello to all the newbies and returners. Hope it works for you.

Well done to those of you who are losing. Don't be despondent if aren't losing as much as you would have liked. Losing a little over a long period of time is more likely to stay off than any big drop in weight. They are pounds you won't be seeing again in a hurry so congratulations! Smile

I'm currently re reading the book. Haven't read all of it for a very long time. I just reread bits now and again but this time I am going for the full re-read to help get properly in the zone. Problem is that I keep falling asleep after 2 pages. This could take a while.Hmm

Solo · 17/01/2012 22:53

BlushDon't know what you mean BBB Blush

Not a great day here again as I'm fighting with Aunt Flo who has decided to have a major turn about just as she was leaving! bloody hormones!!!

Ali crikey! you've got a lot on your plate there...hope it goes really well :)

Kinky how was the meeting?

All the best everyone.

ppeatfruit · 18/01/2012 09:51

Hello everyone Smile BBB IMO that's a profound thought; 'cos i've not been O.W. my whole life it was maybe easier for me, I was nearly a size 16 when i decided ENOUGH! So had less to loose, less of a trauma IFYSWIM!!

Well I reckon P.Mc. is worth having a 'thing' about actually!!GrinBlush Don't you Solo?

Yeah good luck to Ali and esp. Kinky And welcome to all who are returning and who starting this ULTIMATE way of eating !!!

KinkyDorito · 18/01/2012 09:56

Am a bit Shock at the PMK crushes. Do you think you've been brainwashed by the CD??? Does it have subliminal messages? Am I going to wake up one day in love with him??? Grin Grin Grin

ppeatfruit · 18/01/2012 10:26

ROBOT TALK -You- will- fancy- Paul- Mckenna-!!!!!! OF course Grin !!!!!!

ppeatfruit · 18/01/2012 10:40

Duh I didn't mean to cross it out!!!!! Blush but seriously Kinky don't you reckon he's got something? and he's bright (which makes a change)!!!!!

KinkyDorito · 18/01/2012 13:20

I think it's the CD, the bit where it says "replace your cravings with images of licking Paul McKenna's legs for he is a sex God." Of course, you don't really hear this bit as it happens when you are zoned out... Wink

I do actually like him. I don't like the smug pictures of him. He looks like a TV medium on some of them. They don't appeal, which is a shame as I can see his minxy potential.

I am going to attempt to phase back into work. They were really lovely and helpful. I am relieved. I'm just hoping DD stays well enough for me to manage it successfully this time. I will have to leave her alone for a few hours on one day, which should be fine as long as she's well in herself. I'm still very nervous about it all though, but I'm running out of ideas.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 18/01/2012 14:53

Eek I don't fancy him at all, there is something tooooo smooth about him. If you met my DH you would see that smooth is not a characteristic I prize Grin

There is a bit near the beginning of the CD, where you start counting backwards and he says 'that's right' and it is in a weird sex-voice and makes me feel a bit odd. I generally fall asleep around then Grin

Thanks for all your good wishes :) We are fortunate that DH has a very sought after skill set so things are not too worrying. The business is going to be IT, we're starting our own consultancy. DH is going to be the main revenue stream, but there are a couple of sidelines that I'm going to run and who knows where it might lead?

Kinky - that is such good news about work, what a relief. Fingers crossed that your DD stays well enough for it all to work out :)

BigBoobiedBertha · 18/01/2012 15:53

Oh no I couldn't fancy PMcK! I am with you totally Alibaba. I do think the fanciers have all been brain-washed! Grin

He has a very annoying 'hypnotising' voice, a bit like you would do if you were pretending to hypnothise somebody. I still struggle with the beginning of the CD because of it and I am glad when I zonk out!

And he is a bit smooth

And his lips are too thin - untrustworthy.

And what is to stop him using his powers on you if you take his fancy?

Not helped by that hair. 'Slick' is the word that springs to mind. Then out f nowhere, the word 'oil' comes to join it from deep in my subconscious.

But you don't have to like him to appreciate that he talks sense and it works. And he isn't quite so bad in the flesh when he is talking properly but still - the effect of the CD lingers. I would ditch it if I could but it isn't working for me without it so I grit my teeth, in a relaxed sort of way of course, and get on with it. Grin

Kinky so glad you have some space to relax about work. I really hope that your plan goes well.

Alibaba, I know a good accountant if you need one.Wink Are you gong to be joining the local networking scene if you are doing B-2-B stuff?

BigBoobiedBertha · 18/01/2012 15:55

Oh and Kinky, at licking the sex God. That is just gross.

ppeatfruit · 18/01/2012 18:01

OOOh yes "using his powers on me!!!!" When?? sorry solo i'm being a bit silly this aft. Blush I know you've got first refusal Grin Grin

ppeatfruit · 18/01/2012 18:08

BTW have a look at 'the overweight SW consultants' thread it's hilarious and i've stuck me oar in of course Grin

That's great to hear Kinky you can relax for a bit Smile.

Sad that you and BBB are not hypnotised into fancying P.M. of course Grin

MardyBra · 18/01/2012 18:11

I found him a bit creepy, but I did go to the seminar with some of the other MNers last year and was actually won over by him. He's got a certain charisma, and wasn't half as smarmy as he comes over on TV or the CDs. And he swears like a MNer trooper.

Having a good day today. Spent half an hour eating lunch really slowly and enjoyed every mouthful.

ppeatfruit · 18/01/2012 18:15

And Ali he came over much better when we saw him live he iS sexy SOLO come and back me up !!! SOLO where are you???

MardyBra · 18/01/2012 18:15

pp - where's the overweight SW thread. Can't find it!

KinkyDorito · 18/01/2012 18:17

My SW consultant was really, really big. She was lovely, but twice the size of me. She never changed either. I was in and out of there for about 2 years (not great at sticking with it), and she never lost anything. She'd have been well into the size 20s. For all I know, though, she could have lost 10st before that weight. I'm off to have a nosey now.

KinkyDorito · 18/01/2012 18:22

I have backed you up on the SW thread ppeat.
