The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONCIOUSLY
  4. STOP when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches so forget diets, they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Hi obrigada
Yes I can't stand sprouts and he teaches you to think of things disgusting to put you off things you like. However be warned it works, so if you don't want to give them up fully, ie choccy then I would maybe try his other tactics for cravings instead.
A friend used chocolate and some horrible celebrity jungle type creatures and hasn't been able to eat choccy for years, poor love.

OrmIrian · 16/11/2011 17:01

Book and cd on the way from Amazon!

It's better bloody work or I am going to have trouble getting through the door.

Grin

I suspect I need to lose about 2 stone to be more or less back to my comfortable weight. But no hurry I guess.

Wish me luck!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 16/11/2011 21:46

Welcome alfie :) Hello Orm :)

BBB - yes we are going to K. We found it in the end, hiding behind the Tesco Express! Grin It is not our catchment school, but is our next nearest.

I went out today wearing skinny jeans tucked into my boots - and it looked fab! Would never have thought in a million years I could pull that one off so I am v.chuffed. I also highly recommend Sainsbury's jeans, they are great and only £16 although I think the sizing is quite generous.

neverputasockinatoaster · 16/11/2011 22:08

Evening all!

I am still listening to the CD each night. Had a surreal experience the other night when my right earphone went dead halfway through!

I ate an entire bar of chocolate this afternoon. I wasn't hungry. However I have not eaten much of tea tonight because I am not hungry and I refuse to feel guilty.

When I first read the book I was overjoyed at the fact that there was no 'forbidden food' but actually I don't want to eat the junk at the moment (apart form the chocolate today that is!). I am quite suprised at this. My default option always used to be head down in the chocolate wrappers.

I also am not telling anyone at work what I am doing as they are all WW and SW and VLCDs and getting thinner seems to be all about suffering!

OH has just informed me that his Christmas do is 'Black Tie'.... all the more reason to be focused I reckon.

Onwards and downwards one and all.

Solo · 16/11/2011 23:35

This is brilliant! :) New Paulers!! welcome to everyone and thank you, you have enlivened our thread again.

PMK really does work and is healthy, so good luck all and gee up us older members (and I don't mean by age Wink).

BigBoobiedBertha · 17/11/2011 00:20

Neverputasock - Well done on such big changes. It sounds like it has all clicked for you.

Alibaba - Well done on your size 16s. I bet you felt great today.Smile

K infants is a fantastic school. I am sad that I don't have any children there any more. The head is really, really good. I like her although some adults don't take to her as she does talk to everybody a bit like we are children sometimes but she is brilliant at what she does and with the children and that is what is important imo. She sets very high academic standards and still manages to make school fun with lots of different educational experiences.

The juniors next door is not quite so well regarded but getting better rapidly. They had a rocky patch where they had 4 heads in 4 years but the current head has been there 3 years and things have settled down. If you want to know anything do pm as I am a governor at the juniors and know the infants well too. I'll give it the hard sell share what I know. Grin

ppeatfruit · 17/11/2011 08:59

Morning all Smile how's it going solo? Well done never that's how it should work!! Congrats Ali weren't you on here before Omirian?

It's nice that we're joined by some blood typers now welcome all!!!!I don't feel so lonely now Grin

OrmIrian · 17/11/2011 09:49

ppeat - yes I was briefly. But I was lured back into the safety of 'Nah! Don't really need to lose any weight' But the mirror and my jeans say that I DO! I can still get into my size 12 skinnies and my beloved Gap long and leans - as long as I wear something over the waist to hide the monstrous muffin top. Oh...and I can't breathe when wearing them Grin

OrmIrian · 17/11/2011 09:51

May I just ask how long it took to make a difference to your eating? I have started eating smaller amounts and trying to listen to my body - but atm my body is still screaming' Feed me! Feed me bitch! I am starving.....' Hmm Hoping book will come today - am going to load the CDs onto my iphone.

obrigada · 17/11/2011 09:58

Morning:) is it very important to listen to the cd daily/nightly or is it possible to follow Paul without listening to the cd on a regular basis??

BigBoobiedBertha · 17/11/2011 10:00

Morning all. Didn't listen to the CD last night as I have misplaced my mobile phone where it is downloaded. Still, it can't have gone far as I am under house arrest with DS2 and his bloody temperature.

Only place we have been is to pick up DS1 from school.

BigBoobiedBertha · 17/11/2011 10:02

Ah cross post with obrigada. When I have been able to listen to the CD for more than 2 nights on the trot I'll let you know of its effectiveness.

Suffice to say, those who have been successful are generally those who listen regularly. Smile

obrigada · 17/11/2011 10:09

Thanks Bertha:)

SarahPT · 17/11/2011 11:31

Hello hello hello
Right that's me decided then
Will dig out book and cd and give it ago asap
Am allowing myself weekend before starting as it's my birthday on Saturday and my nearly 4 year old DS has promised me a princess cake if I'm good!
I have will power but not enough to start my diet before that !
Will be back soon!

obrigada · 17/11/2011 12:32

ppeat found the blood type diet very confusing the more I looked into it, what I really need is to retrain my brain as such Confused

ppeatfruit · 17/11/2011 16:27

obrigada I think everyone's different ref. listening to CD I don't at all now but I'm still keeping off those kilos! at the beginning it's good to 'get' it IFYSWIM but once i actually started chewing 15 to 20 times it clicked better.

Oh and sarah Happy Birthday for saturday Smile but you CAN eat birthday cake it's not a normal diet you just have to eat SLOWLY and CONSCIOUSLY and only when you're hungry which is actually nice when it's a special cake and you'll have some left over too.

Oh andObrigada When i started the blood type there were no apps. and different lists on different sites on here i just bought the book perhaps you might find that less confusing?

OrmIrian · 17/11/2011 17:11

I've loaded Mr McKenna on to my IPhone. Not entirely sure when I am going to get quite uninterrupted time to listen to it with my eyes closed Grin I was hoping I could listen whilst taking dog for a walk but it appears that might be a little foolish,

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 17/11/2011 17:50

Orm I generally fall asleep while listening, so perhaps not so great while walking! Grin

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 17/11/2011 22:47

BBB - I meant to say, I will PM you and pick your brains if that is ok? All the people we know locally have kids the same age as ours or younger, so it is like the blind leading the blind in terms of getting any real info about what goes on inside the schools. So far we really like HWI because DS1 was immediately at home there when we visited.

I have had so many compliments today - including from my parents! Shock They both said that I looked slimmer than when they last saw me which was only ten days ago.
I was also chatting about clothes etc with my hairdresser and she said 'well of course you need new stuff because you've lost so much weight' GrinGrin

So I am feeling all inspired and have been v.good today :)

ppeatfruit · 18/11/2011 09:30

Morning everyone Smile YAAAAAY!!!!! Ali i'm really pleased for you.

Omirian the amazing thing about this is you don't HAVE to cut down on what you eat you just DO and you never feel deprived!!!!! And as ali says I also go into a trance or sleep or whatever when listening to the cds. so best listened to in a comfy chair with yr feet up IMO!!!!

OrmIrian · 18/11/2011 09:52

Morning.

OK I'm afraid I need some encouragement. I listened to the CD twice last night and it was relaxing and I enjoyed it (apart from the American man at the front telling me not to drive with my eyes closed Grin) but I just couldn't make the visualisations work - I just kept thinking of other things. All the images I was supposed to conjure up of me looking slim and hot were a bit tricky to summon up! Hmm Does it get easier?

I am doing all the slow eating, stopping before I finish (my stomach doesn't tell me it's full as yet - I am having to say it's lines for it!), etc which is fine. I have always drunk loads of water so that isn't an issue.

It just doesn't feel like I am doing anything iyswim. I guess that's because I am used to hard-core Atkins which definitely makes itself felt very quickly!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 18/11/2011 10:24

Orm it does get easier. I never do the visualisations while I'm listening because I'm asleep or very near to it!
The book has some good things in it for that, the mirror exercises and others which are better than trying to do it while listening to the CD.
With the food, I never feel like I'm doing anything really, and then my clothes do up when they wouldn't before.

Relax, enjoy your food and only eat something when you really want it.

ppeatfruit · 18/11/2011 17:22

Also the chew 15 to 20 times and or with yr eyes closed to reinforce the slow eating that helped me a lot to get over the first hill iFYSWIM!!.

Any newpaulies interested in my amazing kill your 'muffin top" belly exercise!!??

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2011 13:43

No obviously not Grin rather than kiling muffin tops I've killed the thread !! [no comment]

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2011 13:46

I meant Biscuit!!
