kristinaRIAnoff · 01/10/2011 23:55

oooh, DH came home eventually. Fingers very crossed for some doors closing and others opening.

kid · 02/10/2011 00:52

My poor DS is no better Sad. One good thing is he hasn't been sick since Friday night, but that's probably because he has no more food inside him as he hasn't eaten. His last meal was breakfast on Friday. He has had nothing but water today. Tonight he was laying on me and said 'mummy help me, I don't want to be ill'
I can't figure out what's wrong with him. He has no temperature, no headache, no snotty nose, cough and no vomiting. He has said his belly hurts and he clearly has no appetite. I'm not about to rush him to the Drs as I don't think they will do anything, plus he is 9 so could tell me if something changes/hurts.

I'm always on the lookout for it developing to pneumonia as he's had that twice before so I'll recognise the symptoms should he get it again.

Blew the diet today. I had lunch off plan, breakfast and dinner was on plan but all the biscuits I ate tonight were definitely off plan!

grinningbee · 02/10/2011 10:18

Kid poor ds. No football tomorrow then? Sad

Ria stop drooling at the telly!! Fingers crossed that some good luck is coming your way.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, clementines and a yogurt
Left over sweet chilli chicken and some tinned tomatoes

Just off out to Asda as we have 1, yes 1 nappy left in the house. 2 dc, 1 nappy... I may also try and sneak a couple of cheap t-shirts if they haven't changed to all winter stuff yet.

kristinaRIAnoff · 02/10/2011 11:19

poor DS kid. Abdominal migraine? DS1 used to suffer with that, mainly tummy pain and puking.

all the sunshine seems to have gone todaySad

really need to motivate myself into some housework today as I start my placement at school tomorrow

It is my mums birthday, so we will be visiting later. Just waiting for confirmation of another invitation so plan (or not)round it.

kid · 02/10/2011 12:21

DS is all better today, no sign of being so poorly yesterday! I found out the football match is next week so that's good.

I went gym this morning and as soon as I got home dh told me to hurry up!
I had a thing or two to say to that comment Grin

Anyway, I found out his parents are coming round for dinner. We plan to do a BBQ so I'm probably expected to be in the kitchen for ages preparing all the bloody food. I'd like to enjoy some sunshine too but looks like I won't be able to.

Just on our way to get my car washed. I'm so glad I don't have to do it myself as it's a 7 seater and washing it is too much hard work Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 02/10/2011 17:46

Greetings from Sussex.
Had a bad weekend food wise but I am having a lovely time so don't care. Grin weather is beautiful.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun, love to all!

Hedgepig · 02/10/2011 21:38

shamefacedly (is that a word) shuffles in Blush, did you miss me? Not sure where I've been but but there was lots of food and drink involved Grin. I'm back on plan now though I have been very good today exactly 15 syns Hmm

Anyway I hope all you lovely ladies are doing well and enjoying the sun

Ria good luck with the placement, hopefully you will enjoy it

Kid DS's illness sounds most odd but it sounds like he is on the mend and hopefully you got out of the kitchen into the sun. I have been standing on the back yard in the cool it is lovely.

kid · 02/10/2011 21:59

DH is forgiven for inviting his parents round for dinner and for telling me to hurry up (after I'd half killed myself at the gym class)
He paid for my car to be cleaned and he filled the tank up with petrol. Its never had a full tank before!
He even helped making the food so I didn't have to stay inside for too long and he got me a drink from the kitchen when I was too lazy asked

I need an early night tonight. Tomorrow after work is going to be busy as I have some running around to do for a friend. But it should be okay as I'll be home by dinner time and I don't have a gym class booked.

I made a lovely apple crumble cake tonight. Of course I had to eat some to make sure it tasted nice. I also had a couple of glasses of pimms. Maybe I'll gain this week? Well it is star week so that will be my excuse.

Btw, DS is 100% better, he has been arguing with DD so I know he is back to his usual self. Back to school for him tomorrow, lets hope he doesn't need picking up early again. He was diagnosed with abdominal migraines a couple of years ago but there is nothing they can do to prevent them. We can only minimize them but making sure he drinks plenty, eats and sleeps well and avoids stress.

I'd better get on with the ironing of the uniforms and make the lunches as its getting late and my early night seems to be slipping away.
Night all, hope you all get some decent sleep.

grinningbee · 02/10/2011 22:07

Evening everyone Smile

I was wondering where you where Hedge! Hope you've been having a good time.

Not much to report here. Went to the pub this afternoon and got a couple of nice compliments about the weight loss, so that was good.

Glad ds is better Kid and good luck for tomorrow Ria!

I really hope I've shifted some of the gain come DoD.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 03/10/2011 03:56

Here we are again then... Hmm

While I'm up - need to ponder whether the pork mince that is dated use by 30th Sept will be usuable or not. While I am keen to lose weight I'd hate food poisoning to be the reason for it!

And why am I soooooo hungry at this time of the morning?

OP posts:
kid · 03/10/2011 06:24

Personally, I wouldn't use meat past it's sell by date unless it was from the freezer. I never use anything past it's best before date, I don't want to poison everyone!

I'm not starving this morning but I am exhausted! It's going to be another long week I think.

Hedgepig · 03/10/2011 08:55

Bee you are so hungry cos you should be asleep at 3am! not that I was DS2 was wriggling and hair pulling wot joy.
must do some work I suppose

grinningbee · 03/10/2011 09:11

Morning all!

Yep, I think that meat is going in the bin. I shall just have to go out to get some more.

Got to bed at 5am but took a while to drop off, then dh woke me at 7 to say he was going to work. We also had the news that one of our friends had died in the night. He went on the anniversary of his wifes death Sad He was 87 and lovely with the dc. Dd always used to nick his walking stick Grin

So, after a very strange night, food for the day:

Weetabix and a nectarine - I would add strong coffee but it's decaff
Cheese triangles on toast, clementines and a yogurt
Pork meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce with broccoli (new mince!)

Oh bum, I've killed the thread.

Sorry chaps!

Hedgepig · 03/10/2011 12:05

sorry to hear about your friend Bee, he sounds like a lovely bloke.

forgot to post today food

B Melon, pear and natural yog (1/5 syns for the yog)
L Couscous, salmon and salad bits (1 syn for 1/2 a packet of Ainsley couscous but its very quick to make & a pretty yummy lunch)
D Chicken rissotto

Snacks - Ryvita and cheese triangles (Hea & Heb), fruit maybe a snack-a-jack

grinningbee · 03/10/2011 12:15

Thanks Hedge. He was. He was one of the parachute regiment who went to Dunkirk, and always got dressed up for special days.

Ainsley couscous is really nice. I used to make up a box of it with chopped quorn sausages and a bit of ff dressing in when I did markets. Might have to buy some now you've reminded me of it!

Hello gang!

So sorry I haven't posted in days; the tablet (Playbook) doesn't seem to cope well once the thread goes past about 600 posts. It goes really slow and replying/posting is a PITA, so I have to wait til I turn the lappy on.

bee sorry to hear about your friend Sad and that ds is still keeping you up in the wee small hours. You said a while ago you thought not having the light/tv on seemed to help; we've never given ds any stimulation at night and he's a good sleeper, though realise this is probably more to do with luck/temperament etc. Fingers crossed he soon starts sleeping through.

cheese hope you had a wonderful time on the Sussex coast; was the place to be looking at the weather forecasts. It's been glorious here too, although not been out in it too much as we all know babies and sun don't mix well!

kid hope your ds is now 100% again? Must be heartbreaking to have a poorly child and not be able to help.

I've had a lovely weekend, but mostly off-plan! Gotta be saintly now if I'm to see a loss this week. Lots of fruit in the house so I'm ploughing through that as we speak.

kristinaRIAnoff · 03/10/2011 15:03

Sadsorry about your friend Bee. Glad he is reunited with his wife though.

glad your DS is better kid.

The teacher didn't want me this afternoon so I am home. It was OK. In a couple of weeks when I am more used to it I think I'll be fine (though a couple of the TS's had expressions that could kill when I walked past!) Thank you for the good luck wishes.

DH and I aren't being very successful at sticking 100% to plan, but I suppose my idea of a spontaneous start on Saturday was maybe a bit sillyHmm. DH isn't complaining too much yet thoughWink

I have all my cookbooks out, and the current mag still sealed up in the plastic. May have a flick through tonight, homework and coursework depending!

kid · 03/10/2011 19:10

I wonder why the TAs are being unfriendly? Seems really mean, I would never treat you like that at my school, we're a friendly bunch, especially me Grin

Whilst cooking dinner tonight (cheesy, broccoli pasta) I had the urge to drink some of dh's red wine. I hate red wine but this one is really nice, it's called Rioja I think. I'm only having a small glass so not too bad.

Dh got some excellent news at work today. A big, fat bonus is heading his way. Not sure what we'll spend it on but I expect an iPad will be living here sooner rather than later.

Ds went to school but came out looking sad. Turns out he got in trouble by his teacher. Of course it wasn't his fault, his friend was talking not him, yeah of course that's what happened.
I've been on plan today sort from the wine so I'm still within syns.

kid · 03/10/2011 19:12

Sorry about your friend bee, like to think he is now reunited with his wife.

My friends dad is being buried tomorrow. I'm not going to the funeral but have given flowers and a donation for the hospice where he passed away.

kristinaRIAnoff · 03/10/2011 20:09

DH says rioja is the best, followed swiftly by shiraz, but Tesco cheap claret is good too. I have told him I will never drink red wine as it smells like curdled vinegar.

The TAs in question also do lunchtimes, and haven't endeared themselves to the "lunch ladies" with their attitude towards the lesser mortals, turning up when they feel like it, changing the rules on their say-so etc. And now I am dating to cross into their territory. Also one of them is a cow who I have a long history with (she hated me when I was a child, and I left a previous job when she took over as supervisor. Also had a run in with her last term as she was being unfair to my class at lunchtime. I am not one for causing hassle, but I can't bear unfairness, so I stood up for the kids in question. Obviously I will live to regret itWink). I think that's it anyway. The kids seemed pleased I was there though, and that's what matters.

SlinkyB · 03/10/2011 20:22

Ugh, hope those nasty ladies don't spoil what should be an exciting time for you Ria. It's horrible to work somewhere you don't feel comfortable (know all about that!).

We've finally had an offer on our house after 18 months! But it's very, very cheeky, and we don't have our eye on anywhere to move to yet. Have told them "no" to see if they'll up their offer, and are keeping tabs on Rightmove to see if our 'dream' house crops up - fingers crossed!

Have loved the warm weather, really going to miss it now and get SAD!

Sofabitch · 03/10/2011 21:27

Hey I'm really sorry to post and run but I'm uber busy ATM :( I will try to get on tomorrow. I just wanted to let you guys know I lost 3 1/2 lbs tonight taking my total to 16 lbs. I also got my 1stone award.

kristinaRIAnoff · 03/10/2011 21:45

fingers crossed it will all fall into place for you slinky.

yay sofa. well done.

my mother has told me I need to smarten myself up a bit, so plan to renew enthusiasm following WI this week. Hell, I need a kick, or willpower tablets or something. DS1 wants to be a hypnotist, maybe that will help!

Am annoyed with DH for having the TV on loud and letting DS2 stay up to watch the noisy film when I was trying to study. Grrr. That means a full-on day of study tomorrow because I'm too cross to concentrate now. Going to flick through SW propaganda instead.
