Oh dear - more lurgy. Get well soon!

Well. We are all set. Just waiting for MIL to make an appearance...

I weighed myself today (a day early) and have only lost a tiny bit Sad but I know, a loss is a loss is a loss. Last night in the end I was up from 12.30 to 3.30, and then woken at 6. I am a little tiny bit tired Wink

I would lay money on the fact that dh and MIL will have at least one big argument before we leave.

Be good everyone, and hopefully I'll be back later. Laptop is coming too Grin

grinningbee thats sad about the house. Hopefully something else will come up soon.

1st week. Got a loss. Will tell you on Weds! I am pleased.

I need to do more exercise though.

What's the best for toning my middle?

Right, in my rock'n'roll life, I am off to clean the bathroom.

Sofabitch · 19/09/2011 15:42

Hey guys. Second weigh in tonight [nervous icon] I've hardly had time to eat today. Been rushed of my face so all I've eaten today is fruit. And a cottage cheese. I don't know if I should have tea before weigh in tonight. As I don't want to get into that habit.

Sofabitch · 19/09/2011 17:12

Ok I'm having tea. I'm having Birdseye baked to perfection cod in olive oil and rosemary. (4 syns) new potatoes and carrots and cabbage.

ameRIAcansmooth · 19/09/2011 18:03

good luck sofa.

I have a huge pile of cookbooks in the middle of my living room. I have no idea where they are going to go, but my lovely friend gave us her old dishwasher, which DH has managed to fix, so they had to come out of the cupboard for the dishwasher to go in, and DH has decided to put the tumble drier in there too. I will deal with them tomorrow.

I have managed to get a last-minute place on a TA-type course, starting tomorrow. Please kid tell me I'll love it and I've done the right thing? Have to go and beg the head to let me help in class nowHmm. She doesn''t like me much...

Sofabitch · 19/09/2011 18:07

Thats great news Grin. TA's are martyrs to the cause. I applied for a job once but when I realised how crap the pay was I had to abandon my dream of term time working. Sad. I'm really not looking for tonight. I need a loss to keep my motivation going. It's far to early for a gain. I'm tempted to change out of my jeans and into some leggings Grin you know in case my jeans weigh a stone? Lmao.

Hedgepig · 19/09/2011 18:46

jeans are really heavy Sofa :-) I always go to weigh in in shorts and a tee shirt whether I'm going to my exercise class after or not!

Ria well done on the dishwasher, what a clever hubby you have and super well done on the TA course, I hope it opens doors for you.

I have really been struggling with my diet today I over indulged so much at the weekend I am sugar craving really badly.

SlinkyB · 19/09/2011 19:04

I have the same problem hedge - was naughty at weekend at struggling with diet today (fridge full of calorie-laden left-overs and a day at home = a recipe for disaster).

Always struggle with appetite after falling off the wagon, but will get back on plan tomorrow when I go food shopping.

sofa Best of luck tonight, let's hope you're pleasantly surprised (bet you will be, even with the McD's disaster!). Look forward to seeing your results on Weds.

Ria Well done on getting in TA course - that's fantastic! It's something I'm currently thinking about, but any plans would be way way way in the future.

I've just pulled the most delicious-looking non SW home-made lasagne out of the oven - yum! Like I said, back on it tomorrow Wink

kid · 19/09/2011 20:02

ria, being a TA can be fantastic as long as you work with a good teacher. In 11 years, I've only worked with 1 mean teacher who didn't appreciate TAs support (until that support was taken away Grin)
I love the fact that I get all those holidays plus I get to finish by 3:30 and don't have to worry about planning or marking work.
It's not the best paid job but being in London, I get a bit extra (London waiting/weighting?!)
If you need any help with the course, don't hesitate to ask Smile

Sw didn't go 100% to plan today. Probably because I didn't have a meal plan to follow!
I had:
Breakfast - weetabix
Lunch - tuna, onion, couscous, 2 tbsp light Mayo (3 syns) Snack-a-jacks, apple
Dinner - pasta, prawns, onions, seafood sauce (? syns)
1/2 Chelsea bun (?syns)

Not the best of days but what's done is done.
My new size 14s are a bit baggy on the bum and I have to keep pulling them up. It's only because they are a bit stretchy not because I'm super slim!

ameRIAcansmooth · 19/09/2011 20:19

thank you allSmile I aren't too worried about the teachers, it's the other TAs that scare meBlush, there's at least 3 that are a bit power-mad and don't appreciate trespassers on their territoryHmm. Have asked DS1 if I can make enquiries about helping at his school if I can't cope with the village school - he's not keen!

Am currently struggling to keep my eyes open, and panicking about how I will manage to concentrate from 6-9 tomorrow night!

hope you got a good result sofa.

Sofabitch · 19/09/2011 20:42

GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin sorry did I over do that. Grin 2 1/2 off in jeans. And now scoffing a bowl of frozen raspberries and blueberries as a treat.

I have a lot of respect for TA's they spend a lot of time with the children and are really undervalued in terms of wages. I couldn't do little children though. Give me teenagers anyday.

I hope you can all fund the motivation again. I've just proved that a bad day doesn't mean a bad week. Xx

kid · 19/09/2011 21:26

well done show-off sofa

TA roles are virtually impossible to get into round here. There is currently a position at my school for the lowest of low wages yet they had 43 applicants for the 1 post.
My sister applied for a position at a new school, over 100 people applied for the 3 positions.

I've not eaten anything else tonight, think I need to do shopping to be delivered asap just so I have some healthy snacks to eat.
I've got 2 gym classes booked for tomorrow Shock. I plan to go to a spin class and then cardio combat straight after. I may back out at the last minute but for the moment, thats my plan. Just need to sort out childcare.
Not sure how WI will go for me on Wednesday, I've not been 100% good like last week. I'd settle for a 2lb loss (maybe asking for a bit too much?)

kid · 20/09/2011 07:02

I've woke up this morning with a really sore throat Sad I hope it's just tiredness related rather than the start of anything else.
I've not meal planned for today so I'm at risk of blowing it. Think I need to get myself organised. It will have to wait until after my double gum class this evening!

kid · 20/09/2011 07:05

I was meant to add Grin and Wink after show off! It looks like I was just being mean and calling you names but I wasn't lol

Sofabitch · 20/09/2011 07:17

Oh no kid I hope it turns into nothing. I've woken up with a huge coldsore on my chin. Sexy hey Wink I have no plans today. In not working so I think I'm going to make a massive green soup/stew type thing with the veg I won in the raffle.

ameRIAcansmooth · 20/09/2011 07:18

yay sofa, well done.

Not overly excited about today. Have to approach school (will be fine unless I have to ask the cow HT), have something to sbmit for the OU (not sure what, I thought I'd done it already), then I have to make myself presentable for college, and deal with the whole experience! There may be wine tonightShock

still got hideous backache, and my arm is sore and bruised where I got it stuck down the stop-tap hole in the street yesterdayHmmBlush

DS1 is a bit irritating smug because he got offered a work-experience placement that a) he really wanted, b) is a bit different and should be interesting, and c) his friend didn't get, though his friend is a bit of a black cloud yet again and keeps sending him jealous discouraging texts.

hope you aren't going to be ill again kid.

have to hide the ironing now as my Dad is coming round to do something. Which bit of mess to hide first?

ameRIAcansmooth · 20/09/2011 07:24

ah, OU is more about water on MarsConfused SMASH!

whatkungfuthat · 20/09/2011 08:00

Morning all, I'm sort of back in the land of living after sleeping most of yesterday. Sorry to hear about the house bee, I remember my Dsis having to wait for ages but the one she ended up with was ideal so hopefully you'll get an excellent swap soon Smile Kid I hope you aren't getting the lurgy. Ria you got your arm stuck down what???? Well done Sofa

I have no idea about food as I can't really face it atm

kid · 20/09/2011 08:23

If my sore throat is still there by 11 I'll know it's not down to tiredness as that's when I'm fully awake!
I'm sure it wasn't helped by me arguing with ds (9) this morning. That child if mine is going to get an extra earbashing tonight!

pixiestix · 20/09/2011 08:45

Hello lovely DoDers. I seem to be rejoining this thread about once a month and then letting things slip again. Its a real kick up the arse when I come back to read how amazingly you are all doing and how many of you have sailed past me now

Sorry to hear that you have been so poorly Cheese Sad I hope you are on the mend and getting lots of hugs from baby I.

Kid you sound like you are doing brilliantly with your exercise. I hate the gym and going to classes, but unlike you, don?t push through it and get to the ?Thank god I went in the end? stage Blush Very jealous of your baggy size 14s! I bought my first size 14 clothes for a looooooong time the other day and it was a great feeling. Size 12 is quite a way off though.

Exciting news about the course Ria - you have definitely done the right thing and you will love it! Wink

Hello and well done Sofa!

I have been messing about, not doing the diet properly, not really gaining, not really getting anywhere etc for such a long time now. My SW book kind of reads -0.5lb, maintain, maintain, -0.5lb, maintain. Its pathetic really. I am 2.5 lbs off the magic three stone sticker, and 15.5lbs from target but I have a fantastic self-destruct button and I seem to do anything I can to jeopordise actually getting to where I want to be. I?ve got a party to go to in two weeks time and I know that I could have got to target by now and looked nice for it ? instead I?m going to be covering up my arms and my tummy and feeling out of place like I do every year Sad Well, enough self-pity for now! I?ll see what I can do about it this week.

Who are we emailing for the list this week?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/09/2011 10:00

Will write a proper message later but people can mail me tomorrow. Gives me something to do!

wocka · 20/09/2011 11:17

Hi,

I have been thinking of doing SW for ages but can't make it to a class. The starter packs are available on e-bay. Do you think that a complete beginner could follow the system just using the starter pack or do you really need to go to a group or subscribe on-line to really understand how it works?

TIA

whatkungfuthat · 20/09/2011 13:19

Hi Wocka, get the pack and then come back here, it's very friendly. The main thing you need to decide is which plan to follow, or do a combination. As long as you understand the basics you'll be fine.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/09/2011 14:24

Hi everyone. Feeling better but it has really knocked me for six. Got my mother in law helping out this week. She has taken the baby for a walk and I am supposed to be in bed but thought I would post quickly. COugh is settling so hopefully things are improving. Aiming to do one gym class by the end of next week.

Welcome back pixie. Remember down is down is down! How was the big move?

kid I am impressed, 2 gym classes in a day. Wowser!
Ria great news, I think you will love it. It will be a real confidence booster.
bee hope you are having a great holiday.
sofa well done, thats great.

Waves to wocka. I would buy it then we can talk you through the rest!

So tomorrow is DoD. Having weighed myself, I think I will prob come out on top but then having pneumonia is cheating ain't it? Got my appetite back yesterday. I am trying to stick to SW recipes for the evening and not worry too much in the daytime. So today I have had:
B: porridge
L: Lentil soup and a roll and 3 stale digestives cos I thought I needed some sugar
D: Quorn sausage and bean casserole with mash and spring greens.

Sofabitch · 20/09/2011 16:28

To be honest woka the starter packs go on eBay for more than the £10 they charge you to join its worth going along to get a pack and an explanation.

Well a good day. I resisted a huge yummy looking sausage roll my friend bought me and had a ham salad instead. Dinner isn't planned yet as it will depend what time we get back from the senior school open evening Sad how can I be looking at senior schools already.
I didn't make my soup/stew because at school my friend invited me round so I spent the whole day there. Drinking lots of tea and avoiding the biscuits. Lol.

I could barely manage 1 gym class let alone 2 lol. Well done you.

Cheese take your time to recover you can't rush these things.
