G&T - porridge with water is against the law in England & Wales.

If however you are Scottish then, provided it is sprinkled with a tablespoon of salt, it is ok.

Your Royal Slinkiness, sorry to hear you came over all unecessary in the nursery. You need bananas in your pocket when you go out. I would ideally say grapes ,..but they make such a mess when you sit down, oh and flobbing the pips out in the street is terribly common.

Still at work so I have to skidaddle.

LittlePushka · 16/09/2011 19:03

PS
Food

B:Shreddies
L: Salad & grapes (seedless, naturally as I am posh, not commonWink)
D:Homemade lentil soup (assuming not already scoffed by DH when I get home)

No wine, nochoc, no syns,...no shit!
( I ought to be canonised you know,... St. Pushka,....yes, it has a certain ring to it...Grin)

whatkungfuthat · 16/09/2011 19:15

St Pushka of the Scanbran has a certain ring to it Grin

I'm off for a chinwag with my old punkette mates. We won't be gobbing and are hoping for comfy chairs.

SlinkyB · 16/09/2011 20:04

pushka You made me :) When you called me "Your Royal Slinkiness" ... but then made me more Hmm when you then implied I would buy seeded grapes, therefore implying, by your own reckoning, that I was a mere commoner Shock I mean, do you not know where I live?! Wink

Currently relaxing in the bath with a large glass of wine. Reward for passing on the chocolates and biscuits offered to me this pm. Made the SW jalfrezi again tonight, but still not over-enamoured. It's more like spicy onion and peppers in tomato sauce. The brown rice didn't help matters, but know how good it is for you.

Hope you're all enjoying your Friday nights! Oh, well done on the cookie-dodging kid - reward yourself with a prawn cracker!

grinningbee · 16/09/2011 22:31

Evening!

Just watched Burke and Hare. Fab film! Dh fell asleep as soon as he finished dinner - I was still eating Angry Still, got to watch in peace. Better wake him to go to bed soon.

I've really had the munchies today, but managed not to eat anything other than ff fromage frais and ff yogurt as snacks.

Hope you're all having good Friday nights, and that your other halves are awake with you.

SlinkyB · 16/09/2011 22:56

Oh dear bee poor you Sad My dp is indeed awake and making the internet realllly slow by downloading stuff and we're watching Bridesmaids. Cheers for your film recommendation, will add it to the (long) list.

LittlePushka · 16/09/2011 23:13

hey Slinky, I would have thought that you would have broadband at the Palace? Go get a footman to wiggle the wire.My granny used to not only swallow her grape seeds but crunch them and say they were good for digestion.

She also used to say that having loads of vinegar on chips "counteracts the fat" Grin and, instead of saying enamoured, she would say _

"Oh no Push, I'm not enamelled with that!" Grin

LittlePushka · 16/09/2011 23:15

bee, who is in Burke & Hare?

grinningbee · 16/09/2011 23:21

Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Christopher Lee, Tim Curry, Bill Bailey, Isla Fisher, Hugh Bonneville, Jenny Agutter, Paul Whitehouse... that's who I can remember off the top of my head. Loads more and I loved it. My sort of humour.

(D)h in a bad mood. Cross because he missed it, but has gone back to sleep again...

OP posts:
LittlePushka · 16/09/2011 23:34

oh yes, good casting. Love the "(D) H" !!! Grin. Pleased to see he has settled again - probably just needed burping.

My DH has had a few glasses of red and has giggled himself off to bed. He is in that sort of fuzzy/lovey/dopey sort of mood where I cand readily obtain his consent to whatever major plan is up my sleeve,...Wink

grinningbee · 16/09/2011 23:42

That sounds nice though LittlePushka. I know I moan too much on this thread, but one day I'm going to do a thread about him and do a link on here to get some opinions.

Nuff said on that subject for now.

On the burping front, I did just have to feed ds back to sleep. Bless. Right, better turn in I suppose.

Nighty night Dod'ers.

I'm still awake but it's ok as I don't have to get up early in the morning.
I've just been browsing MN about periods as dd started hers on Thursday. I wouldn't have dreamed of getting her tampons but many do, even from the first period.
I know DD hates using a towel and she hasn't had much luck with them (leakage). She said having a period is so stressful Grin For some unknown reason, she told DS who now says DD is wearing a nappy!

She was invited to a swim party tomorrow but she can't go which is a shame. She also didn't do rugby at school today as she was worried about leaking so I wrote a belly ache note.

I'm happy to talk to her about it all and she is not embarrassed in the slightest which i am so pleased about. I hear pmt kicks in after a few days, great, I can't wait!

Right, sleep time for me just incase I decide to get up early. Highly unlikely but you never know

LittlePushka · 17/09/2011 01:10

Awww kid - poor kidskid. I can remember thinking that NOONE couold possibly know how hideous the whole thing was,...(when clearly at least 50% of the adult population must have done,... and half of the other 50% had probably been on the receiving end of PMT and knew all about it)

Night night kidder! Smile

grinningbee · 17/09/2011 03:19

Poor dd Kid Sad I still remember the first one even after all this time.

Up again here (obviously!). Ds woke at 2, have been trying feeding the little blighter back to sleep for an hour but it is not working, so have taken him out of the bedroom so he won't disturb the others. Needless to say, dh not happy.

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/09/2011 04:28

I'm awake too bee. DD has a cold and is snoring real loud - keeps waking me up. And now I'm having a coughing fit.
Will make note of those movies, need something to do.
I think weight loss is in the 4-6 lbs range, still got a crap appetite. Am not following the plan this week although Dad cooked SW meatballs in roasted veg sauce. I had 2 whole meatballs but it was yum!

ameRIAcansmooth · 17/09/2011 08:45

morning all. nice chatty night again.
Possibly have some kind of lurgy. Came home from work yesterday and DS3 and I slept for 2 hours. Then I flaked out when I put him to bed at 9 (DS3 got up again and watched the Blues Brothers with DHHmm). I also poisoned DS1 with a lemsip - he has announced he will never be ill again.

Sad for DD kid. I can't remember my first one, but I remember having to be sent home from school because I had major leakageBlush

I started looking into TA courses yesterday. Typical I have probably missed registration for all of them. I have another college to phone on Monday . Am thinking I might as well make the most of the time and financial support aspects of DH not workingHmm

have a good weekendSmile

grinningbee · 17/09/2011 09:40

Oh Cheese poor dd again, and Sad for you being awake. I was up for two hours in the end.

Ria I do hope you're not getting the dreaded lurgy!

Well. We go away on Monday. With grumpy dh, and grumpy MIL it should be an experience. Apparently she is demanding to know what time we will be back again on Friday as the cat needs to be collected and will "miss her" Hmm. (D)h says he lost the plot with her and told her to, erm, f* off BlushShock! So, this should all be rather pleasant. The chances of me not eating my own bodyweight in chocolate while away are getting smaller.

Anyhoo. Food for the day.

Weetabix and a banana
Lunch will probably be missed (bad I know) if not, it's the usual
Beef SW meatballs in a spicy tomato and onion sauce with broccoli

GandTiceandaslice · 17/09/2011 14:58

Kid, it is extremely rare, but there was a front page of our local paper this week about a 15 year old girl who nearly does from toxic shock from using tampons. They are too young to fight off the infection. www.echo-news.co.uk/news/local_news/rayleigh/9250275.Schoolgirl_nearly_died_because_of_tampon_reaction/?ref=mr

I don't want to cause unessecary worry/hysteria but it is something I'd forgotten about.

I am sure I've lost some weight. I just want my weigh in on Monday!

kid · 17/09/2011 15:16

Thanks g+t, I did tell dd about tampons this morning and she was horrified of that idea lol. I do worry about the tss but it won't be an issue now anyway.
I have to remind her to change as she waits until it leaks which results in extra washing. I have plenty of washing anyway!

I've got 6 extra people coming round for dinner tomorrow. Let's just say I am nit over the moon about it.
I tend to tidy up on Saturday's then go gum Sunday morning and chill for the rest of the day. Not tomorrow though, I'll still be going gym but I'll have to have an extra good tidy up (one guest has OCD)
Then, after cooking for 10 of us, I'll have to do all the washing up and then tidy up again after the little animals kids.
I'm in a bad mood today, can't think why Grin
I didn't even get to go out shopping. Instead I've been scrubbing the bathroom and kitchen. Oh well, it needed doing anyway but not so thoroughly!
Roll on Monday I say!

Sofabitch · 17/09/2011 17:31

Ggrrr I've just lost a massive reply!!. I've bought dd who is 10 towels and tampons. I'll suggest the mooncup as soon as she has got to grips with periods.

I've had a red day today.
B- apple and yoghurt
L- massive salad and chicken
D chicken drumsticks and broccoli
S- cottage cheese and fruit and yoghurt

I'm thinking of weighing myself in boots. I want to be prepared if I've had a gain after tuesday lol. I'm actually in my head trying to think of excuses no to go Sad even though the rest of the week has been good.

Sorry I've not been on much. Feel like I live at work at the minute we are short staffed which isn't getting better because of budget cuts. Luckily we can still claim over time.

kid · 17/09/2011 19:00

I got the latest magazine and it came with a little book of easy family meals. Some look lovely so I'll be trying them.
Dh helped me do vegetable biryani. It was ok but I'm not sure if I'll bother to do it again. Some parts were nice others were a bit plain. Maybe I just needed to stir it a bit more. I also forgot to season it during cooking, oops!

I bought a bottle of pimms today which I plan to drink tomorrow with lemonade. Any idea on syn value? Also, what are you meant to mix it with? I've got oranges, apples, pineapple and fresh mint. I figured I could mix it with them. Not sure how much pimms to lemonade though.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 17/09/2011 19:25

Kid, there's usually a recipe on the bottle to give you an idea of proportions. No idea of syn value - sounds lovely though! I always like a few slices of cucumber, gives a really soft flavour. And if you can get hold of borage you'll be the bee's knees! Mint sprigs work as well but whatever you like really.
I'm not envious of all you with menstruating DDs. Mine is nearly 14 and still not started - we've had a couple of false alarms and she's had the odd weepy episode, so it can't be too long!
Turkey and leek bake tonight, then off to the pub - hope I don't do too much damage!

kid · 17/09/2011 20:34

I bet it won't be long for your DD. My poor DD hates the whole thing. She was led to believe that you only have it between 9-13. No idea where she got that idea from. When I told her she will have it every month until she is about 50ish, she sighed lol

Kids can be so funny. DS was watching 'Young, dumb and living off mum' and one of their money making schemes was to visit a sperm bank to make a deposit in exchange for some cash. DS came up to me afterwards and said 'Those 2 boys were going to poo in a bottle for some money!'
I don't know how I kept a straight face.

kid · 17/09/2011 20:55

25ml of pimms = 3 syns, that sounds a lot of syns for a small amount of pimms

I didn't use any syns today, so would that mean I can use extra tomorrow? Grin
