I've never seen torchwood before. But last night I started watching the whole of this season. Just finished number 9 today ready for tonight's episode. I quite liked it. Dh thought it was crap. I've made my quorn shepards Pie. An although it looks good. It doesn't taste anywhere near as good as the real thing lol I hope the kids eat it. Oh well school run time.

obrigada · 15/09/2011 15:18

Apologies everyone for appearing randomly and then disappearing again just as quickly. Got weighed on Tuesday night and now officially weigh 12st 4lb, am currently taking Champix (for stopping smoking) so although I am trying to watch what I eat these leave me feeling nauseous, it's a strange kind of nausea though that only is relieved by eating something Confused.
Anyway what I am trying to say is that I really want to stop smoking and if I have to suffer a little weight gain so be it, but in truth I don't want that to happen so I want to stay on this thread and keep an eye on my weight.

Sofabitch · 15/09/2011 20:12

Well the quorn shepards pie was ok. Nothing like the real thing and I sacrificed 4 syns to mix in brown sauce to make it less bland.

I hope Tuesday won't have too much of an impact :( I'm totally blaming my friend. Vodka at lunch time is never going to lead to a good diet day lol. I went To the harvester again for lunch. But I wasn't good and had a blackforest pudding and vodka. And then thought fuckit. Instead of being sensible and doing damage limitation And had a big mac and fries for dinner followed by a whole bag of chocolate peanuts. So I reckon about 1000 syns ! Lol. But I'm trying not to beat myself up to much because I'm in this for the long hall. So 1 day out of 10 so far isn't exactly the end of the world.

I hope everyone had a good day. Does anyone know If I can use the portion of fish in a fish in butter sauce as a HE B on a green day?

JobCarHouseNoBaby · 15/09/2011 20:51

Hey ladies!

Well after a 1lb gain last week and a hectic week where I've been literally having pasta and chopped tomatoes for most of my meals, I've managed to lose 2.5lb this week! Only 0.5lb to my half stone award. Boy am I looking forward to that sticker!

Have found that I really have to plan ahead each week and stock up with all the ingredients. Made a big batch of free beef chilli on Sun night and froze portions so could have a couple of easy dinner nights.

Struggling to get my HEB in today as cannot stand hobbit bread. Think will try alpen bars or wheetabix for breakfast.

kid · 15/09/2011 21:48

I desperately didn't want to go gym tonight as my gym partner wasn't going and I know the class is really hard (for me) Its bootcamp and its changed quite a lot compared to when I started it many, many weeks ago. You know have to jog around the circuit, skip, side step and more jogging and thats just the warm-up!
I always feel glad that I went afterwards but during is torture!

Stuck to plan today and enjoyed my express chicken fajita salad tonight. Will have to post the recipe tomorrow as my recipe book is in the next room and I'm lazy exhausted

Friday tomorrow, yay. I'm having a takeaway (a healthy-ish one) as I want a break from cooking.
I've got a few more recipes I'm going to try out but then I'm going to start repeated ones I've done. We have had a different recipe for the 11 nights. From what I remember, they have all been lovely.
I need to stock up on some more ingredients, guess I might be going shopping tomorrow night instead of cooking.

kid · 15/09/2011 21:49

JobCarHouseNoBaby, alpen light bars are great. You can have 2 as a HEb so you can snack on them at any point.

LittlePushka · 15/09/2011 22:04

Hello again obrigada and Jobcarhouseholidaytimeshareskiingwinternobaby...Grin I am making your sticker ready for you Job,...would you like a star or a smiley face?

Sofa - what were you thinking????? Whats withthe Big Mac? Now, I understand craving,...and I understand deprivation,... and I understand comfort eating,...and I understand the lure of vodka.... and I am am out and (not very)proud chocolate bandit,.... but cannot get the big mac thing!!! The whole thing is one vile stinky vile salty oil fest and such a waste of a gazillion sins - if you are going to have a gazillion sins there MUST be better sinnage than big mac and fries, surely??? Now I am going to hypontise you so that you stay away from the big yellow em,...look back and forwards quickly 100 times between these:

Confused Confused

Are you feeling sleepy?................!!!

(Fair play to you for fessing up Sofa!!Wink)

LittlePushka · 15/09/2011 22:12

Wonder how Cheese is? If you are feeling a bit weak ought we to be name changing to CheesyPuff? Smile Hope you are feeling better at home now.

Kid - well done on the bootcamp motivation!!! We is proud, innit (as they say in Knightsbridge )

Bee - Having read your cheese triangles on toast entry for weeks now I tried them today. They were an unmitigated disaster,.... I forgot to toast both sides of the bread under the grill so the finished article just floppped like a wet flannel when I picked it off the grill pan. I am SUCH an idiot!!!

grinningbee · 15/09/2011 22:25

LittlePushka I tend to spread them on toast - not try and do cheese on toast with them... eeek at the thought!

Cheese Hope you're feeling a little better now you're back at home. I am happy to do the list again this coming week if you're still feeling crapola. I'll assume I am unless you tell me otherwise.

I need a strategy not to go off the rails next week peeps. Seeing as I am away from normal routine, I am hoping I don't use it as an excuse to eat all the crap food I have been missing for the last 15 weeks...

Kid well done on the gym tonight, and I can't wait to see the latest recipe. I'll be trying it.

Right. Better poke dh awake to get him to bed.

lol pushka. your posts always make me Smile

OK, torchwood time here, Hmm(after an hour of helping DS1 with "work experience" emails that we should have been sending out in July. He gave me the letter at the end of term, but didn't mention I needed to read it urgentlyBlush )

LittlePushka · 15/09/2011 23:00

Ahhh, bee,...I see! But I was hoping for a sort of welsh rarebit effect rather than just cold cheese on toast. My strategy for you is buy a carrier bag of fruit and every time you wander to the fridge/kitchen cupboard/sweetshop/macca D's (you listening Sofa?!) dive into the bag. Not actually,...I mean don't physically jump in, that'd really hurt,...I am speaking figuratively.

Hi ria - nice to see you smile Wink.

Off to launder DS1 jumpers with a fistful of wipes.

kid · 15/09/2011 23:13

I love big macs but I would never eat one whilst doing sw. I did have one the weekend before I started SW this time round but haven't even been tempted to one again despite having to walk past McDs twice every day.

I had to tell DH and DC off tonight. They keep leaving the biscuit tin out and I really miss biscuits. If they are in the cupboard, they are out of sight, out of mind. But leaving them on the side takes a lot of will power not to give in.

I forgot to add earlier, I tried on my 'small' size 14 trousers and they do up ok but they are just a tad tight on the stomach so I'm saving them for a while longer. My comfy 14 jeans are now getting too baggy so they will need replacing very soon. Infact, I think I'll do a little clothes shopping at the weekend seeing as I got paid today. Won't spend too much as I want to get down to a 12 (or possible a 10 in my dreams) so I'll save the big pennies for then.

Oh, and I got called gorgeous the other day by some man. Ok, ok, he worked on a fruit and veg stall and he probably calls all the local tramps, drunks, grannies gorgeous but it made me smile anyway Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/09/2011 23:25

Hi everyone!
I'm lurking so thanks for all the thoughts and messages. Nice to be thought about! I'm feeling a bit better but still wrecked. Its tough sleeping as I cannot lie flat so am propped upright with the sofa cushion and pillows. I never thought I'd say this but it's been great having MIL here to help out! My Dad is coming tomorrow for the weekend which will be lovely.
I am not eating very much and I need calories so not sticking to diet. I've had 1 piece of hobbit toast, bowl of home made soup and 1/4 portion of chicken casserole today. Dh just brought me cocoa and a hobnob, lovelySmile

Well done on all the exercise, turning dairylea into rarebit and losses. Don't worry about the big mac, tomorrow is another day.

kid · 15/09/2011 23:31

Great to hear from you cheese
Don't worry about the diet, concentrate on getting better instead.
Glad to hear people are taking good care of you, hope you're not milking it though Wink

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/09/2011 23:37

Wonder how long I can keep this up for Wink

grinningbee · 16/09/2011 08:43

Morning all!

Fruit bag sounds like a good idea Little. Cheese when you start asking people to get you scones with jam and cream, demanding foot rubs, and having a bell to summon people, they'll know you're milking it Wink

Kid Yay for baggy size 14's Envy and being called gorgeous. That's a good boost Grin

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Beans on toast, clementines and a yogurt
Leftover Shepherd's Lentil Pie

Quiet day here today. Got some washing on, need to clean. Might even start to sort out a few bits for going away. I just can't summon up the enthusiasm Grin

Morning all!

SO glad to hear you are on the mend now cheese - have been thinking of ya (and Googling your condition, as wasn't sure what sepsis was!). I'd just concentrate on building your strength back up for now. Has dd learnt to hug yet? My ds still hasn't but I can't wait til he can!

Have been lurking somewhat too, wasn't very well on Wednesday but better now. Almost fainted in the nursery we went to look at Blush but we loved it so looks like we'll be sending ds there for 1.5 days per week from Dec.

Kid I'm pretty sure I've never been a size 10, thanks to my sturdy frame, but would kill to be a size 12. Right now I'd be happy to go shopping and confidently buy a size 14; have fun this weekend!

And pushka your posts almost always make me chuckle - keep 'em comin'!

ameRIAcansmooth · 16/09/2011 09:44

cracking headache and really cold this morning. very glad it's Friday.

DH is apparently going out walking, so he can "walk at his own pace". Presumably this means me and the kids hinder his progress when we go out together.

slightky narked seems to be my default state ATMBlush

GandTiceandaslice · 16/09/2011 10:31

What is hobbit bread?

I was so full yesterday that I didn't have my 2nd HeB. I do green days.

I ate:
28g porridge with 25g raisins, made with water. Banana. Ryvita thing with ff cottage cheese.

couscous with roasted BN squash & chickpeas. Salad. An apple.

Pear. FF Activia with frozen fruits.

Mashed potato/cauli mixed with cabbage (bubble & squeek) topped with 28g cheddar & served with a sw fried egg.

I was going to have 2 ryvita fruit things for supper but I really couldn't.

It won;t make a difference will it.

Considering the amounts I was stuffing away before I went back to the DSW plan, I am astounded at how full I felt!

ameRIAcansmooth · 16/09/2011 10:42

G&T - hobbit bread is nimble/tiny wafer-thin bits of bread that SW allow.

cannot believe how cold and dark it is today. Boots and woolly jumper time alreadySad

ameRIAcansmooth · 16/09/2011 10:43

expect it will be incredibly cold and windy where Dh has gone

grinningbee · 16/09/2011 11:44

Ria you naughty thing Wink

Morning (just!) all. Good to hear from you cheese Smile

Well i didn't have any wine during Torchwood, but wish I had as it made me cross. I'm off out tonight with some girlfriends but it will be a drink rather than food, just need to stay away from the wasabi peanuts. I am v.ratty at the moment which wasn't helped by something in M&S earlier - I was looking in 'Classic' for my mum's birthday present when 2 women walked past and one said about it being for old biddies (true) then they turned around and looked at me and sniggered, grrr.

Pushka could you try the low fat 'plastic' cheese slices and melt them for a rarebit-type thingy?

Food:
Hobbit toast & banana
Not sure about lunch as I just had the toast
Gammon, poached eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes
....and wine!

kid · 16/09/2011 15:33

Yay, finished work for the weekend so that means 2 lie ins. I really enjoy work at the moment, I'm working with the best class and the best teacher, that must mean I'm the best TA Wink

Been good today, there were homemade giant cookies in the staff room. I did have a tiny piece, about the size of a stamp so virtually syn free. I then had 2 apples to distract myself.
I'm having Chinese tonight. I usually have chicken chowmein but someone told me beef with mushrooms is only 4 syns and plain boiled rice is free. Anyone know if that is true? Mind you, I love chicken chowmein anyway.

whatkungfuthat · 16/09/2011 15:52

That is right about the chinese kid, the rice is free if its plain, beef and mushroom is 4.5 on red & EE but 19.5 on green Shock chicken and mushroom is very low too - 5.5 or 11.0 on green. I just checked and chicken chowmein is 7.5 on EE and green and 11.0 on red so not too bad if you are doing EE. I only use half the rice as its hard going to eat it all, as it makes everything too dry.
