Hope all those sleepless night people aren't too tired today.

Dh is at work this weekend so I've got DC all to myself which is not good as they are normally naughty for me

They are staying out tonight so it will be peaceful here tonight and in the morning.
I'm going for it at the gym this week, got classes booked for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday!

Can I ask for peoples meal plan for Sunday?
Everyone else will want a Sunday roast but as I've stuck to plan 100% for the whole week so far, I really don't want to ruin it.
Weigh in day isn't until wednesday and I'm keen to see how much I can lose with sticking rigidly to plan.

grinningbee · 10/09/2011 08:37

Morning again!

The little darling went back off at about 4.30. Bless...

Ledkr I HATE spiders, and like you, if I see a big'un I cannot do anything unless I know where the git is.Then either dh can get it, or I have to attack with the dyson Grin We currently have 3 medium ones in the house. I know where two are, but the third...? Hmm

Cheese Sad sorry you have to go back. At least it is only temporary, until dh passes his consultancy and you can move away. I've still got things crossed Smile

Kid I don't treat Sunday any different foodwise, although if we did do a roast, I'd have the usual breakfast, then roast meat with veg and no potatoes, syn some gravy and maybe a mini yorkshire pud.

The weather looks grim, but we're still going out. I need a change of scenery!

kid · 10/09/2011 09:19

Thanks bee, I don't want to take a day off sw on Sunday as there is a risk 1 day off will turn into many days off.

As predicted, dc are arguing already. I've taken dd's phone and iPod off her for being cheeky. When I took the iPod off her, she told me to stick it up my bum! So i've get her mobile now as well Grin
The pleasures of being mum to a teenager (well almost teenager)

I've got a stupid question about the sw recipes. It often states that you put frylight in a pan, add x, y & z and cover. Can you use frylight in a normal saucepan or just a frying pan as I have no lids for my frying pans (warned you it was a stupid question)

ledkr · 10/09/2011 09:33

I even used fry light on top of my fish pie the other day to brown it.I use it in saucepans yes.

I made these last Sunday. Spray roasting dish with fry light, add two crushed garlic cloves, salt and pepper and some dried rosemary, heat up then plonk you par boiled potatoes into it and turn around to coat.
Cook in oven untill crisp, they were delicious and all the family agreed.
I had chicken and veg with it and syn some gravy, didnt feel deprived at all. Grin I ate so much a pudding was unecessary.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 10/09/2011 09:34

I was told at a chef demonstration that, to 'sweat' veg, add a bit of salt, make sure the heat is as low as poss, and drop in a smaller lid so the veg can cook in its own steam. Works a treat, and, no it doesn't have to be a frying pan.

ledkr · 10/09/2011 09:35

Kid,my dd is 9 and has started with the cheek. Last week i banned her from riding her bike the next day,she replied that was ok as she had dancing.I thanked her for reminding me and banned her untill the weekend. No flies on me.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 10/09/2011 09:43

Oh crumbs, got all this to look forward to! ledkr you are sharp - haha!
kid stick it up your bumGrin. We don't really do roast dinners on Sunday but I'd prob do roasties like ledkr said, roast chicken and syn the gravy.

DD has worked out to roll front to back today. She's also started commando crawling quite well.Sad. Right best get organised!

grinningbee · 10/09/2011 09:48

I use frylight in a saucepan, and I spray it over the veggies in a pan to roast them. I also fry eggs in it and it works perfectly ok.

I also have that problem Kid. I haven't actually had a full day off of it yet, and a week on Monday I'm off for a couple of days break (ha!) and tbh I am dreading it. I am going to feel so annoyed if I gain, and in the past that has triggered a slide into old habits. Not this time though!

OP posts:
Hedgepig · 10/09/2011 09:58

spray light works fine without a lid Kid, just keep stirring I find it isn't as forgiving as a glug of oil, but I am from the "Boil the boll*s off it school of Cookery" Grin

Cheese hope your trip back goes well, i did my degree in London and I didn't like it at all, I was so please to leave at the end of it.

Ria looks like you have an action packed day in store.

Right wish me luck I'm of to but DS2 some new shoes, I hope he doesn't have a tantrum

ameRIAcansmooth · 10/09/2011 10:18

LOL hedge, I graduated from the "cook the F**k" out of it school of cookery!

when I fry eggs I put a lid on top and it kind of steams the top of the egg cooked.

garlic and herb roasties or harrissa roasties and roasted veg with meat - yum. But a SW friendly sunday roast is possible thanks to Aunt BessieWink

got back off to sleep when the paracetamol kicked in on my shoulder, about 6am. Been up about half an hour. DH is still in bed, so we won't be up and ou very earlHmm we will be able to spend the day competeing about who is in the most painWink

off to make the picnic, and bang about a bit, see what happens!

kid · 10/09/2011 11:36

I bribed dc this morning. If they
Didn't argue and took the dog out for a long walk with me without complaining, then I'd take them swimming. They kept their end of the bargain so we're currently at the local leisure centre where under 18s swim for free. As dc are over 8 and can swim, I don't even have to get in with them Grin maybe they will get on a bit better if they have to swim together? Wishful thinking.
I don't have any cash on me so I can't use the food machine here which is probably a good thing.

Not sure what to do for the rest of the day but they have been instructed to get out of the water in 1 hour. Let's see if they actually do as they've been told.

Sofabitch · 10/09/2011 11:38

When I fry eggs I use fry light. Then I add a splash of boiling water. And Put the lid on.

ledkr · 10/09/2011 13:17

Blimey kidithought it was practically law to eat chocolate from the vending machine at the pool.

kid · 10/09/2011 13:50

Maybe it is the law but it's probably against the law to break in to it and they don't accept cards!

On the way home, we went in a shop. Dc bought chocolates and I made a jacket potato when we got in. I really am a good girl Smile

Do you remember me mentioning those jeans I bought last weekend that didn't fit too well on Monday, well I'm wearing them today and they are a perfect fit. Keep getting a bit loose on the bum but the waist is a good fit. Hopefully it won't be long before some of my other small size 14s fit. Fingers crossed anyway x

ameRIAcansmooth · 10/09/2011 21:20

well done kidSmile (jeans, vending machine avoidance, bribery etc)Envy of free swimming (and not having to get wet)

we went to a windmill. they don't make windy miller noises. the boys got covered in flour whilst using the quern. we have bought windmill flour and DH is going to make bread with the boys on Monday. (i have to make spicy "orange" soup to eat with it, by request of the boys!) we had a picnic on the town common, and spent far too long a while throwing sticks at a tree to knock down HUGE conkers. was a giggle I suppose (though DH could have been trying to kill me). Then we went to town and kit Lakeland (plastics) - more xmas shopping done. and I bought a skirt! need boots now, but Oxfam wasn't helpful.

hoping the rain goes away for tomorrow. it's been really hot today.

ameRIAcansmooth · 10/09/2011 21:21

*hit

SlinkyB · 10/09/2011 22:09

Boo. Just wrote out long post and tinternet collapsed Angry

Had nice night with lots of food and drink - whoops!!

Post more tomorrow on much more reliable laptop...

kid · 11/09/2011 00:20

When I post from my phone, I often copy it so if it crashes, I can just paste it!

I had vegetable byriani tonight from Indian takeaway. I'm certain it's okay though as I've hardly used any syns all week and i only had 3 syns for Mayo today so I'm feeling confident that I stuck to plan.

I've gum at 10:30 and I'm hoping I don't feel faint again like last week. At least the instructor knows so i'm sure he won't pick on me if I step out for a bit Grin

If I make the sw chicken curry tomorrow, do you think it would work in the slow cooker?

Sofabitch · 11/09/2011 07:09

I don't see why it wouldn't work in the slowcooker? I'm hoping to use my slowcooker loads this winter.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 11/09/2011 08:40

Am sick. Temp up to 40, headache, vomiting. Prob viral flu thing so haven't eaten a thing for 24hrs. Will post again when better.

Sofabitch · 11/09/2011 09:09

:( hope you feel better soon cheese.

It's my 1st weigh in tomorrow. I'm feeling positive it's going to be a good one.

SlinkyB · 11/09/2011 09:36

Morning all

Get Well Soon cheese Sad

Kinda glad my post disappeared last night as I was a bit tipsy so it was a bit rambly! Had friends over for dinner, and didn't stick to plan at all. Ah well, only one night off and definitely back on it again today. They brought two big tubs of ice-cream with them, which I'm hoping to palm off on family today Wink

Went charity shop hunting in posh nearby town yesterday and my Mum was right about the labels; Boden blouse (giggled as thought this was sooooo MN), Karen Millen jacket, a Christian Dior bed-jacket and a Lulu Guinness handbag among others!! Sadly, nothing I actually liked, but it was fun to peruse.

My size 16 jeans are now too big, and my size 14 jeans too small so there's only one thing to do and that's lose more weight.

kid well done with sticking to plan so rigidly this week, and on all the exercise despite the wobbles; you're an inspiration!

sofa Good Luck with your 1st weigh-in tomorrow

Enjoy your Sundays all.

kid · 11/09/2011 10:00

I'm in the same boat clothes wise slinky, I won't even wear my 16s anymore as they just look stupid but some of my 14s are too tight so i won't wear them either as I don't think it looks flattering to squeeze into clothes.
It means my wardrobe is very limited at the moment.

Just had scrambled egg on toast and will be leaving for the gym shortly. I'm hoping the protein will help my sugar levels, we'll see.

My house is empty today, its going to be so lovely and peaceful. I think I'll watch last nights x factor while the washing machine is on and then I suppose I'll have to do some ironing. THink I'll just do the minimal amount I can get away with Grin

cheese, hope you are feeling better soon, its no fun being ill.

slinky glad you had a good night. Having a night off plan is fine as long as you get back to it. Good luck with palming off the icecream, I'm sure you'll have no trouble getting someone else to take it. Everyone loves a freebie!

Right, I'd better get moving lol

grinningbee · 11/09/2011 10:45

Morning all Smile

Get well soon Cheese that sounds horrible.

Slinky glad you had a good night, and good luck getting rid of the naughty icecream.

Kid good luck at the gym today. Very Envy of all these clothes getting too loose!

Good luck for the weigh in tomorrow Sofa

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangle sandwich and some fruit
Leftover quorn chilli and some rice

Off out for a walk around Rutland Water in a bit, so taking a small picnic. It'll be breezy, but it should be nice. It'll some blow away some cobwebs anyway!

OP posts:
grinningbee · 11/09/2011 16:29

Blimey - it is very quiet in here!

Back from Rutland Water. It was stupidly windy, to the point where I couldn't see because of my hair Grin but we still managed to eat our picnic. Nice afternoon of fresh air which will hopefully knock out two small people later!
