Hey everyone. Welcome back Whiter and welcome Toddler!

Am very impressed and a bit intimidated by everyone's efforts atm! knotty did u do RI30 this a.m.? How is the knee 3steps?

L2 6W6P done yesterday (first time woo hoo!) and 4x circuits of NMTZ done today. Only managing around 3x exercise pw atm, largely due to DCs being horrors to settle in the evenings so we have no evenings at all atm, plus disturbed nights, plus DH working away a lot. Grrr!

threestepsforward · 10/01/2012 09:34

Morning all, just checking in Smile

Seriously well done everyone, you all sound like you're going great guns!
Congratulations on L2 of 6W6P Jacksterbear, how did you find it? I think that's the hardest of Jillian's workouts I've done!

Knee feels much better but I'm going to leave it a few more days as I don't want to take any chances. I'll probably restart on Friday. I can raise it now so it's all looking good...

Hope everyone has a good day...

Jacksterbear · 10/01/2012 18:49

Thanks 3steps , l2 6w6p was Hard! Very hard from cardio pov, plus hard to keep up in places and hard to balance in others (all the various lunges with arm swings). Oddly not really hard in the stomach, was aching next day in the glutes but nowhere else! Think others have commented previously on this. But I got through it in one piece so pretty pleased with myself. Glad yr knee seems to be improving.

notyummy · 10/01/2012 21:10

I have just done L2 6W6P as well and would concur with Jacksters summary. It is indeed hard work and probably the hardest cardio of the 4 JM DVDs I own.

McPie · 10/01/2012 21:11

Woohoo I managed to do the whole of BFBM for the first time ever this afternoon Grin and that was after doing Killer l1 and Ripped l2 earlier in the morning.
I will damn well look better in my clothes even if I have to work harder for a couple of days each week! The scales have been evicted and the tape measure is my friend Smile
Amazon say my NMTZ has been dispatched and when it arrives I will now have all the UK dvd's, I cant wait to try it.

threestepsforward · 10/01/2012 21:46

Go you Mcpie Grin Great stuff!

I should think you'll be seeing the difference in measurements bloomin' soon, if you haven't already!

threestepsforward · 10/01/2012 21:49

How on earth are you keeping up that level of exercise? It's unbelievable!!

notyummy · 10/01/2012 22:00

Flipping heck McPie! Just don't over do it (semi serious head on here.) I wouldn't have thought the workouts are designed to do more than a volume a day in terms if potential injury as they are high impact. Maybe alternate with a different 'type'- tough Pilates; power walking; swimming? You can do tabata efforts in the walking/swimming to up the calorie burn.

McPie · 11/01/2012 08:32

I used to be able to do 4 shreds in a day before the energy went so this is not that much different for me. As long as I have eggs and a banana for breakfast I'm fine and when I do an afternoon, which wont be everyday, I make sure I have something like chicken with lunch. The kids are at nursery/school in the mornings and in the afternoon twins have some computer/console time whilst ds1 (10) is still at school, they are 5 and love this time and tend to work really well together. My weight is pretty resistant to loss, shame its not the same with gain, so I feel I have to work that little bit harder sometimes.

VenetiaLanyon · 11/01/2012 09:55

Bloomin' heck, McPie! You're making me tired just thinking about it...

I started on L1 of Ripped today; added in weights to the boxing, butt kicks and crunches, and struggled with Hollowman in terms of pressure on lower back; didn't feel very good for me, although don't think I've done myself a mischief yet.

Couldn't do the bad ass version of the lying on the floor with your legs out raises i.e. pushing off your hand rather than your elbow; anybody mastered that yet?

notyummy · 11/01/2012 10:32

Good luck Mcpie! Surely you must lose inches?!

I haven't got Ripped in 30 yet Venetia so can't comment on that exercise but it sounds like 'fun' Wink

Just finished BFBM - first time for a month or so. Was good! I can confirm that legs/bottom are slightly sore from 6W6P last night..

Have just ordered Killer Buns - reviews on Amazon are great!

threestepsforward · 11/01/2012 12:25

Venetia is that the last abs bit in L1? I think I still do that as a normal double crunch. I have lower back problems too so have to be careful with those kind of exercices (and the hollowman).

Notyummy I've also succumbed and bought Killer Abs, which has arrived! Now I'm in a quandry - do I go all the way through Ripped and then try out Killer, or should I mix it up? Am like a kid in a Jillian sweetshop Grin

Not that I'm doing anything at all at the mo. Going to give knee one more day of rest and hopefully then back into it again!

Hope everyone's having a good day Smile

threestepsforward · 11/01/2012 12:27

Killer Abs Buns
(when will I learn to read before posting!)

knottyhair · 11/01/2012 18:39

Hi everyone! Have had no internet for a couple of days but it sounds like you've all been working really hard! Venetia, I can manage those things up on my arm on one side, but have to drop onto my elbow on the other.
Also did L2 6W6P yesterday - would concur it is the hardest thing but have yet to attempt the upper levels of Ripped in 30 and Killer Buns. Managed 3kg all the way through, and advanced versions of everything except the hollow man - had to adopt a weird inbetween version. Can't double time the chops or the lighthouses, but the 2nd lot of dumbbell swings and pass throughs felt like a bit of a break! Did manage to knee myself in the elbow whilst doing the moguls Blush. My best attempt yet though Smile. Did 4 circuits of BFBM this morning. Rest day tomorrow. Keep it up everyone!

Eveyone is doing so well but I thought this might help to keep motivation www.huffingtonpost.com/mobileweb/2010/06/17/jillian-michaels-weighing_n_616062.html

Picture of Jillian as a teenager. If she can do it so can I! Grin

notyummy · 12/01/2012 08:09

Thanks for that Whiter! Hope everyone is doing ok. No Jillian for me until Sunday now. Nothing today, 8 mile rin tomorrow and short run on Saturday (hopefully - staying with friends and it depends on how much I drink on Friday night Blush.) DH and I plan to double shred on our return on Sunday afternoon.

ThePaxton · 12/01/2012 08:43

knotty I haven't tried L26W6P, I must get it, a friend lent me hers but has taken it back. L1 was hard enough.
whiter I knew that Jillian was overweight as a teenager, she mentions it in one of the workout, but she looks like a different person!

Did RI30 this morning a 7am, only did 1st 2 circuits as the boys got up. I don't like Circuit 3 anyway, I hate those side lunges from the shred, just can't seem to do them right.

Hope everyone has a good day!

VenetiaLanyon · 12/01/2012 11:37

Day 2 of L1 Ripped, and I'm really feeling it in the backs of my thighs; I have been shredding religiously for 8 mths, and this is working different muscles - yay!

I'm with you on those lunges, Paxton; just can't seem to stick my backside out properly.

McPie · 12/01/2012 11:50

I found if I dropped the arms for the side lunges I could do it properly and actually feel it in my legs.
I have just finished my 5th L1 Killer of the year and day 5 of L2 Ripped, one more then its on to L3 Shock.

threestepsforward · 12/01/2012 20:37

Very gingerly mot'd my knee today with L1 Ripped, so far...touch wood...it seems okay. Mind you I barely lunged or squatted!

Carrying on from where I left off, I have 1 more day of L1 then up to L2, yay!

Have decided to go all the way through Ripped and to save Killer Buns for pudding as it were!

To echo recent posters, well bloomin' done everyone - great stuff - starting 2012 as we mean to go on Smile

knottyhair · 13/01/2012 08:26

McPie, you're going great guns on the new Jillian DVDs. Threesteps, take it easy on that knee, hope it continues to get better.
Going to do 4 circuits of NMTZ after the school run. Might try a L2 Ripped tomorrow morning....

OP posts:
McPie · 13/01/2012 08:40

Watched L3 Ripped last night and thought it was going to be murder when I seen them doing the warm up with weights but it doesnt look too bad, challenging but not unmanagable, L4 looks not too bad either. Dh was sitting slightly shocked when I kept saying 'done that one' or 'that looks not too bad' Grin. He is sure he would snap his back if he was to try any of it and claims the only excercise he does is of the horizontal variety Hmm.

BalloonSlayer · 13/01/2012 13:10

I have . . . at . . . last . . . completed Day 10 of Level 1

Gah!

Will start Level 2 as soon as I can.

It's taken me ages - I really struggle to find the time. Sad

Well done everyone on here, you all seem to be going great guns (unlike me!)

threestepsforward · 13/01/2012 17:06

Go Balloon, well done! Now you have level 2 to look forward to Grin

I have finished L1 of Ripped. Definitely used to it now, despite the knee break, so I'm looking forward to moving up a level.

Because of my knee, I've gone back to doing my 10-min pilates stretch at the end as this may have been the reason I wasn't getting any injuries before. Who knows, but it can't hurt...

Have good weekends all. I'll be Ripping it, provided no joints or bones collapse in the meantime, and will post once I have my first L2 under my belt...

ThePaxton · 13/01/2012 19:05

Thanks McPie I try to do it without the weights and push my bum back. Well done balloon good luck on L2. 3steps I have also stopped doing extra streching at the end and have been stiff the next day, more so than when I did do it, must get back into doing that.
No exercise today, might attempt Killer Buns in the morning - gulp !!! Grin
