Oops we're full up again! Hope it's OK to start a new thread. Come on Jillian devotees, let's keep up the good work and the great results!

Sorry to hear your knee's not good notyummy, hope a few days rest from the jumping will sort it out. Take it easy in the meantime, if you can bear it!

Still Shredding here! Up to 2.5 kg though for most of the strength on level 1 so I'm really chuffed with that as I've been finding the heavier weights really hard (no laughing those of you flinging 3/4/5kg+ weights around Grin)

Doing a L1 Shred in a mo and will be promoting myself to L2 on Thursday...

DP is looking great, he's totally changed shape after doing more or less 30 sessions over 60 days - Go DP, yay Grin

Hope everyone's had a good weekend

ThePaxton · 13/11/2011 19:39

notyummy hope your knee feels better today. I have a dodgy left knee that plays up now and again.

Did NMTZ all the way through. Really enjoyed it, could only manage 1kg, and found circuit 4 really hard, surrenders anyone!! Also found any of the plank ones really hard, side ones, those awful plank twists. Hope my upper body strenght improves so I can actually complete it. My hamstrings are sore now.

Wow threestepsforward I can't imagine using 2.5kg, I sometimes try and have to switch back to 1's.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend.

Jacksterbear · 13/11/2011 20:38

Well done on BFBM and NMTZ ThePaxton. Yes surrenders are pretty horrible, but I find NMTZ circuit 1 so awful and I am always so relieved to have got through it in one piece that I find the rest of NMTZ a relative cakewalk!

Sorry knee is still bad notyummy.

Did u shred today 3steps? I gave myself a "day off" and did a Davina workout (The Pump from my 3 30 mins)! Very easy compared to Jillian although I did add weights to the cardio to make it a bit more challenging.

threestepsforward · 13/11/2011 21:08

I did Jackster! Grin at having a "day off" and doing Davina!

Hello Paxton Smile. Just saw you did BFBM yesterday, followed by NMTZ today, that's fantastic, well done!! I find BFBM a total sweat fest and I have to really gear myself up mentally to do it, but really enjoy it once I get going... The crescent pose circuit (is it 6?) in NMTZ is my nemesis, I often can't manage it when doing all the circuits together!

The 2.5 kg weights I'm using are a recent step-up, I've been mainly using 1.5 kg for a while and still use them for some of the strength stuff in Shred...

Onwards and upwards Smile

threestepsforward · 13/11/2011 21:10

Oops, not for a moment suggesting you were 'doing Davina' today Jackster, that sounds rather rude!!

Jacksterbear · 13/11/2011 22:30

Grin 3steps!

febes · 14/11/2011 00:38

Did shred level 1 again this morning with 3kg for all the strength apart from the side lunge arm raises in the 3rd circuit for which I moved to 2kg. I used 1kg for all the cardio too. Its challenging but man I'm so much fitter than when I first started shredding and I couldn't even do 30 sec of jumping jacks. I will do a 5k run as well this evening. I'm aiming to shred every day as well as either run, cycle or netball. 1 stone to go to get to target!!!!

knottyhair · 14/11/2011 08:30

Wow, everyone's doing really well! I was really looking forward to NMTZ this morning and L2 6W6P tomorrow but woke up this morning feeling like I've swallowed a razor blade, so no exercise for me at the moment Sad. I really wanted to get right into it in the run up to Christmas and get so frustrated when I can't do it! I'm off to gargle something disgusting Wink. Hope you all have a good day x

OP posts:
threestepsforward · 14/11/2011 10:45

Aw Knotty, I really feel for you Sad. I had the same thing happen, all geared up to make November 'the Jillian month' and then my back gave out (although was only out of action for a week so not as bad as I feared). Give yourself a good rest and lots of TLC and you should be back on form soon, and there's still a while to go before Christmas... Smile

Febes, bloody fantastic! 1 stone to go and by the sounds of what you're doing, you should be there in no time. You are aspirational inspirational Grin! How are things now in Christchurch by the way?

Notyummy hope your knee's recovering.

Morning to everyone else Smile

Will be Shredding this pm and am gearing up for L2 on Thursday with heavier weights than I used for L2 last time round. Still progress right?

Have a good day everyone x

Jacksterbear · 14/11/2011 15:06

Febes you are beyond awesome. How exciting that you are so near your target now - looking foward to the post in a few weeks' time saying you have got there! Smile

Sorry u are feeling rough knotty.

Happy shredding 3steps!

notyummy · 14/11/2011 15:48

Febes - fantastic stuff! At this rate you will be 1 stone lighter in no time!

Knotty - hope you feel better soon.

Paxton - those surrenders are tough. I can sympathise.

Well, I double shredded yesterday but did 1 and 2, rather than 2 and 3, as I thought avoiding the jumping in L3 was probably sensible for my knee. My plans seems to have worked as it feels ok today....although my upper body is a bit stiff!! Did all of L1 using 5 kg (with 1.5kg for the cardio), except for the side lunges at the end where I had to drop down to 3kg. Did most of L 2 with 5kg, but couldn't do all of the second circuit, and def not the squats and v raises...retreated again to the 3kg! Am feeling it today both in upper, and to a lesser extent, lower body (hamstrings.)

febes · 14/11/2011 19:45

Awww thanks everyone. Christchurch is weird- lots of empty plots now where building used to be and town is still 'red zoned' and closed. Its really hard to find places to go out as so many bars and restuarants are closed/gone. The aftershocks have died down mostly though- we did have a 4.2 last wednesday which DH felt but I didn't as I was out with the DCs. Life is ticking along though.

I am a bit achy today after shredding and running yesterday which is a good thing as it means I am upping the intensity!! I'll shred again today and go for a cycle tonight.

Knotty- rest completely and you'll be back to it in no time.
notyummy- good grief the though of those weights makes my eyes water!!

ThePaxton · 14/11/2011 20:38

febes congrats on only one stone to go. I can't wait to to have a stone left to shred. Sorry you're not feelng great knotty hope you're better tomorrow. notyummy glad your knee is feeling better.

I did BFBM today, I can't believe I'm doing longer sessions and enjoying it. It takes me about an hour as I stop between each circuit to catch my breath! Still find the plank things hard. NMTZ tomorrow.

ThePaxton · 15/11/2011 19:23

NMTZ done. Found it better than on SUnday, but was still really hard. Might rest tomorrow, will see how I feel. Hope everyone is okay.

notyummy · 15/11/2011 19:58

L2 6W6P done - felt slightly better than last week!

Planning a run tomorrow.

Well done on NMTZ Paxton - think I will do that on Saturday.

Ouchywawa · 16/11/2011 09:11

Hello all

I have been ducking in and out of this thread for a while. However, less than a month until I go on holiday for Christmas to somewhere warm so stepping things up a notch!

A quick question - is 6W6P more than ab work? I have BFBM which I like and the 30 Day Shred...and Ripped in 30...but like being able to download programs onto the iPad and 6W6P is the only one I haven't downloaded. I really need to do lower body work as well so have been a bit hesitant about it.

Also - if you do a search on YouTube, the first circuit of Killer Buns and Thighs is on there! Just in case you were curious!

notyummy · 16/11/2011 09:15

Ouch - there are a lot of squats and lunges in L2 6W6P (a lot!!). It is def not just ab work. There is a bit less in L1 (from memory - it's been a couple of months since I've done it.) I think L1 has slightly more mat work, really focussing on the core - L2 is definitely a very good aerobic workout with plenty for the lower body.

threestepsforward · 16/11/2011 10:13

Morning all,

Great stuff Paxton, I reckon you will have earned a rest day!

Good to read the knees obviously on the mend notyummy, judging by the activity levels!

Hi Ouchy, I can't offer much info on L2 6W6P as I haven't done it for ages! How are you finding Ripped in 30 by the way?

Last day of L1 Shred today and promotion to L2 tomorrow...Holding up with my 2.5 kg (apart from a few strength bits) and we'll see tomorrow if I can hack L2 with them...

Have a good day everyone Smile

knottyhair · 16/11/2011 10:20

Just popping on to say well done to all of you, and keep it up! I'm actually jealous of you all getting on with it - would not have said something like that a year ago! Full of stinky cold here so the sofa and a packet of crumpets are calling my name....

OP posts:
notyummy · 16/11/2011 10:55

Hope you feel better soon Knotty!

Back from an 8 mile run with a slightly achy knee, but not too bad so I am feeling heartened...also got that 'runners high' - lots of endorphins flowing! My legs were definitely feeling it though - lots of squats and lunges in 6W6P at 6pm last night followed by 8 miles at 9 30 this morning = legs that feel like that have worked hard. Right, I am allegedly working from home so most go. Had to take the car to the garage so thought I would run back so have to work through lunchbreak now to catch up.

Ouchywawa · 16/11/2011 11:46

Thanks all - think I will download it in that case. Love a new Jillian.

I quite like Ripped in 30 threestepsforward. Very similar format to the Shred but 3 sets of exercises rather than 2 makes it a bit more challenging. The first level is very similar exercise-wise to the Shred but the next couple of levels really mix it up. Good luck with going up to Level 2 of the Shred!

threestepsforward · 16/11/2011 20:30

Evening all Smile

Knotty hope you feel better soon, try and enjoy those moments on the sofa, you'll be back on the sweat-mill soon!

Notyummy wow! I've tried running on and off over the years and it's never clicked for me. I don't think I'm a natural runner at all, and I admire those who are!

Ouchee thanks for that. Ripped in 30 is released at the end of December and I can't wait!!

Last Level 1 done today. I think I'm going to have a day off tomorrow before launching into Level 2, nothing at all to do with the prospect of those awful awful V raises!! Work is mad at the moment too, so seems like a good moment to insert a day of rest...

Will catch up Friday Smile

ThePaxton · 17/11/2011 18:21

I hate those v raises too 3steps. Had a rest day yesterday and did BFBM this morning but stopped at circuit 6. Was knackered and I 'phoned' some of it in! I know resting is important but I seem to lose momentum by just having one day off.

ouch really looking forward to the new Jillian's, must pre-order them.

Hope everyone's okay

Ouchywawa · 18/11/2011 09:15

Did the first level of 6W6P this morning - not bad! Will see how I feel tomorrow. I have discovered I am unable to do burpees in any acceptable form...

notyummy · 18/11/2011 09:30

Well done Ouchy! Make sure you have psyched yourslef up before trying L2....it's quite something Wink.

Well, I am most put out. I have gained around 3 lbs and I really don't know why. I haven't changed my eating habits, and I am certainly doing plenty of exercise. Harrumph! I am still a good weight for my height, but had been holding steady for about a year, so any gain is a bit of shock. I like to keep my BMI in the 21 area, and this means I am nudging up. May need some low carb action for a few days .
