threestepsforward · 29/10/2011 11:16

NO Jillian'ing today...

notyummy · 29/10/2011 15:35

Did 7 miles yesterday and did NMTZ with DH this morning. Gradually edging up the weights. Managed all of circuit 2 with 5kg, nearly all of circuit 3. Still need to work on 1 and 4 as they mostly 3 kg. Quite enjoyed it, although calves are sore from BFBM on Thursday....

febes · 29/10/2011 20:20

I've managed a pattern of NMTZs one day and 5k run the next all this week. This weekend I have been done a cycle (10k) with a run straight after becasue my duathlon is next sunday. Feel fighting fit!! I'm working Monday and Tuesday so probably do a run and then a cycle and then hopeful back to Jillian on wednesday.

VenetiaLanyon · 31/10/2011 09:50

Hi all, hope that you had splendid half terms. I was pleased that I managed to shred for all days apart from Sunday rest days, and only put on 1lb (cream teas and fish and chips Grin)

Sounds like you're all going great guns...

notyummy · 31/10/2011 10:03

Went away with DH this weekend whilst my mum and dad looked ater dd. Ate and drank far too much! Managed a NMTZ on Saturday morning before we left, a little bit of pilates on sunday morning in the hotel room, followed by a 5 mile walk. Given the amount I put away I am too scared to step on the scales Grin. Am not trying to lose weight - but would rather not gain any, and I think this weekend may result in that. Will give it a few days before I step on the scales to see if my body can make the adjustments on its own.

L2 6W6P tonight.

Keep at it everyone!

Looks good Knotty!

I did L2 6W6P last night with a 3kg weight. Seriously thought I was going to throw up. Don't appear to be aching too much today though. I really find it difficult to motivate myself to do it though as I really don't like it Blush. The idea of doing it for 5 days a week for 3 weeks fills me with horror. I also struggle slightly to hang on to my weight because my hands get so sweaty and she wants you to move it so fast. We have quite big plastic weights (filled with sand I think) and there is v little purchase in them. Was doing well to only drop it once last night, however if it flies out of my hand during one of the fast/swinging moves then I would potentially be replacing windows in the conservatory Shock.

threestepsforward · 01/11/2011 13:52

Am grinning at image of you hurling slippery weights around your conservatory notyummy!

I'm afraid I'm going to have to sign myself off for a while. My lower back, right-hand side, has totally gone and it hurts to walk. DP had to take the dog out today as I couldn't even manage that!

Am SO gutted! November's a quiet month and I had planned a clean-living, Jillian'ing detox month - the best laid plans eh Sad

Maybe, hopefully, it'll sort itself sooner, but it hasn't been this bad for a long time.

Keep going Jillian devotees, I'll come back again when I'm better, sigh.

Threesteps x

Jacksterbear · 01/11/2011 21:24

3steps sorry to hear that Sad. Get better soon and come back to us! Great work notyummy.

Wow knotty that Killer Buns & Thighs looks hardcore! From the point of view of requiring balance and co-ordination particularly! Confused

Shred L2 just done. Hate, hate it! Felt a failure as had to drop down to 1kgs for the 2nd set of v-raises, when I normally do them with 2kgs. Rubbish Sad.

notasillysausage · 02/11/2011 07:50

Hi everyone. Sorry to gate crash, but just wanted some advice/ reassurance on 30 DS.

I am on L2D9 and so far have put on a pound!! I'm doing ww and very near goal. I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and how long it took for your body to catch up and start losing??

I know I definitely haven't eaten more than usual as haven't upped my points so feel like I should be losing.

:-) thanks in advance!

notyummy · 02/11/2011 09:10

Hi sausage. I haven't got direct experience as I have not used 30DS in conjunction with a diet, however I have picked up from others that this sometimes happens and it appears to be your body hanging onto water whilst it gets used to the exercise routine. It is a bit early to claim the pound is all muscle I think Wink. Did you measure yourself? Most people have seen much clear results initially through body size rather than weight. Not sure how long it will take the body to 'catch up', but I would say - don't give up! It WILL make a difference to your tone and fitness and overall you will definitely look better. Perhaps a couple of short runs as well, instead of shredding everyday might mix it up a bit?

threesteps - really sorry to hear that. I have also had back problems so I can thoroughly sympathise. Hope it eases soon.

knottyhair · 02/11/2011 10:04

Threesteps, hope you feel better soon, sounds very painful Sad. Jackster, I can totally sympathise, I always find L2 Shred really hard to get through, I just don't enjoy it as much as all her other routines, even L2 6W6P is better, although it's harder. And I still say that I dislike those V raises more than any other move in any routine. So good on you for getting through it. Hi notasillysausage. I haven't got any experience of this either, but I know that others have. Just a thought but as you haven't upped your points, are you eating enough? I don't know much about how WW works but I know that in some cases if you don't eat enough, including eating your exercise calories, you stop losing as your body goes into starvation mode. Just a thought as I say. But good luck and keep going, you won't regret it!
As I hadn't done much exercise for a couple of weeks what with dodgy back/cold etc. I decided to ease myself back in gently yesterday and did a Davina. Was nice to do something different but it just made me realise how much I like Jillian's approach. So was back to my spiritual home of Jillianland this morning with 4 circuits of BFBM - aah, that's better Grin.

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 02/11/2011 13:09

knotty which Davina did u do? I used to be a big fan before I discovered Jillian. Still do them occasionally (have power of 3, superbody and My 3 30 mins), but find them quite unsatisfying now, too much standing around and not enough agony for my liking!

sausage sorry I don't really have anything very helpful to add but agree with what others have said.

knottyhair · 02/11/2011 14:49

Jackster, I did 2 sections of High Energy 5 (20 mins aerobics, 20 mins pump). It was OK and bits of the pump section were hard (I used my 3kg) but as you say, it's just not as good is it?? Did just 25 mins of BFBM this morning, and felt like I'd done much more than in 40 mins of Davina! Saying that, my best friend loves doing BFBM all the way through, and she alternates that with Power of 3 all the way through, so that might be worth a go. But because I try to do something nearly every day, I prefer my workouts to be over in 30 mins max Grin!

OP posts:
notyummy · 02/11/2011 16:08

I have never done any Davina and I fear she may not be hardcore enough for me, although her DVDs are v popular so I am sure she must have something going for her! I tried Nell McAndrew but her stuff is very 'samey' - jogging on the spit for aaaggeeess - I got bored! So far it's Billy Blanks or Jillian all the way for me for 'proper' cardio/weights (although I do have two Kristin Macgee pilates and yoga DVDs that i use quite regularly and are pretty tough.) Have you heard of PX90 - al the rage in the states apparently? It sounds tough - lots of different DVDs to go through, and I think at least an hour a dat for 5/6 days week.

Did a 7 mile run at lunchtime today in a pretty good time - 55 mins. Another short run tomorrow morning (at 6 15 Hmm). Going out after work for drinks so not sure if I will feel like exercise on Friday Grin. Will try some yoga if everything else feels to hard.

VenetiaLanyon · 04/11/2011 09:45

sorry to hear about your injury, threesteps; get better soon.

Fabulous time on the run, notyummy....

Welcome, sausage, stick with it, I have lost over 20lbs now since April doing the Shred..

Did first ever L2 shred with 2kg weights for first set of chair squats with v raises; couldn't even begin to contemplate doing it for the second set too...

Have lovely weekends, everyone; don't 'phone it in Wink

threestepsforward · 04/11/2011 10:08

Thanks for all the good wishes Smile
Back is feeling a lot better than it was at the start of the week due to codeine
Am going to steer clear of all exercise certainly over the weekend and will see how I feel on Monday. Good news is I can now get out to walk the dog, which is a big improvement!
Everyone's doing really well. Congrats on the 2kg v-raises Venetia, that's hard!
Have a great weekend everyone
