Oops we're full up again! Hope it's OK to start a new thread. Come on Jillian devotees, let's keep up the good work and the great results!

I have done NMTZs on Sat and Monday so far this week after a few weeks of no Jillian just running and cycling. MY arms and legs were shaking on sat! Yesterday felt a bit better- I love it its such a good workout. I might do a few BFBM circuits today after reading the last few posts- haven't done it for ages so looking forward to that. I also found it impossible the first time I did it but after a few times I really loved it too. I have some friends coming over for lunch today so hope I can fit a workout in. I'm going running tonight though anyway so I won't miss out completely.

threestepsforward · 10/10/2011 21:00

Thanks Jackster and Knotty - I think I will lay completely off the weights for a week and see how I do. It's hung around for a while now, so a complete break is probably the best option. So - BFBM anyone? Grin (yy circuit 6 is definitely the hardest!)

Jackster I know exactly what you mean about the mental block, I have that with 6W6P. I think I did L1 once, and L2 twice and all I can remember is being shell-shocked and lots of grunting from Jillian and her pals. I haven't gone back to it since! If you fancy doing BFBM, try what Knotty suggests, and go for 4 circuits say, ease yourself in gently!

Knotty thanks for the link - that does look exciting, think I will be pre-ordering too!

Hope everyone is having a nice evening Smile

knottyhair · 11/10/2011 18:01

Febes, did you give BFBM a go? Threesteps, how's the arm today?

I did 4 circuits of BFBM this morning - I find I alternate between doing 1, 3, 4 & 7, or 2, 5, 6 & 7. Going to do 4 circuits of NMTZ tomorrow. Hope everyone's had a good day x

threestepsforward · 11/10/2011 20:22

Hey Knotty, arm feels pretty good thanks Smile I'm going to give it a good week with no weights as it's still a bit twingy. Hopefully a week or so should sort it.

Well done on BFBM. I did the same today. Think I will be doing rather a lot of it until my arm mends Grin Apart from walking the dog, I can't do any of the other DVDs really as they are all about the weights!

Good luck on NMTZ tomorrow!

knottyhair · 12/10/2011 09:35

Threesteps, just a thought but have you got 6 Week 6 Pack? It does use a weight but the "easy" version on Level 1 doesn't. Just thought it might break the monotony of BFBM! Glad your arm feels better Smile.
Did 4 circuits of NMTZ. Only 2 of them used weights, but I managed both with 3kg - first time I've done surrenders with the heavier weight. As Jillian says "you gotta feel uncomfortable if you want to see change. This isn't your mother's workout!" Grin. Having a rest day tomorrow, and on Friday might just do a L1 Shred with added weights in the cardio, as I've got a load of gardening to do. Have a good one!

Hi all! I did 6W6P for the first time in about 6 weeks today. Had done it a lot on holiday and was a bit sick of it, so had avoided it recently. Intended to do L2 but winmped out at the last minute as couldn't face it at 7 30am so did L1. Still seemed pretty hard though - particularly the spider planks and side plank with leg raise. Managed a short run on Monday and am planning a 10 miler on Friday as it looks like the wind should be dying down.

VenetiaLanyon · 12/10/2011 11:02

Hi all, hope all is well.

After a guzillion months of shredding, I still notice that my left arm is weaker than my right arm (e.g. during butt kicks with weights); does everyone else have this too?

Hope arm gets better soon, Threesteps; I can't shift an injury beneath my shoulder, so am just ploughing on...probably a very Bad Thing to do...

threestepsforward · 12/10/2011 11:29

Morning all!

Venetia, I've been ploughing on too, but with lower weights (that's my excuse anyway!) and it's just not got better so I'm giving it a week off. I think if it's still not right after a week's rest, I'll be tempted to carry on regardless too! Mine's sort of down the front of the top half of my arm. Wishing us both speedy recoveries Grin

Knotty, thank you!! I hadn't remembered L1 of 6W6P has a no weights version. I will be doing that next as I can see myself falling out of love with Jillian big time if I carry on doing BFBM relentlessly...

Well done on 3kg with surrenders. Those are so hard, and I find the crescent pose stuff after that even harder!

Hope everyone has a great day Smile

threestepsforward · 13/10/2011 21:28

Evening all, just checking in!

Thank you again Knotty for reminding me about the no-weights in 6W6P. I did level 1 yesterday, and still found it tough despite being weight-free... boy they do grunt a lot though don't they?!

Another BFBM today, I do love it! Now I'm really familiar with it, it seems to go quicker Hmm

Friends down this weekend so won't be doing any Jillian'ing, but I probably will do L1 6W6P again tomorrow if I have time...

Hope everyone's doing well Smile

threestepsforward · 13/10/2011 21:29

p.s. does anyone else find it annoying how posting turns the whole thread on its head, or does that just happen to me/!

knottyhair · 13/10/2011 22:01

Threesteps, glad you're enjoying working out without the weights! I had a rest day today but plan to Shred in the morning. Have another rest day on Saturday (DS has a friend for a sleepover Fri night - can't face doing it with an audience!). Hope everyone else is OK xx

OP posts:
VenetiaLanyon · 14/10/2011 09:49

Threesteps, I'm afraid that's just you. Grin

Just want to report that I'm now 20lbs lighter than when I started shredding at the end of April; hurrah!

Also, what's the consensus on jump squats; should it be a smooth motion like Anita, or with a kind of stop after the jump like Natalie?

Hope you all have lovely weekends with much happy Jillianing Smile

knottyhair · 14/10/2011 09:57

That's great Venetia! Bet you feel fab Smile. I started at the end of January and lost 33lbs in total, although I'm trying to maintain now. But the real reason I love Jillian Blush so much is that my shape has completely transformed. It was so nice to wear strappy tops this summer rather than feeling like I wanted to cover everything up all the time. As for the jump squats, I prefer to do them like Anita, otherwise it hurts my knees. I don't do the rock star jumps for that reason, I find them too jarring, so I do jumping jacks with weights instead. I did Shred L1 this morning, with weights in the cardio and in the abs where it was possible. I decided to "push myself" and managed the side lunges with 3kg for the first time! Nearly killed me though - lots of loud counting and grunting to get me through them Grin. Hope everyone's having a good day x

Fantastic weight loss there ladies - well done!

beuatiful day here and about to venture out for a long run. Will Jillian this weekend as well.

knottyhair · 14/10/2011 10:01

I think "to Jillian" should enter the dictionary as a verb Grin.

OP posts:
threestepsforward · 14/10/2011 10:39

Wow Wow Wow Venetia and Knotty - that is fantastic, congratulations Grin

I've noticed DP has changed shape, and lost weight from his face, after only 3 weeks Shredding every other day. He's now on L2 and hasn't moaned once about the 'girl talk', but that's because I know Jillian now has him under her spell and he's a lot bit in love with her Grin

If I don't come back today hope everyone has a fab weekend...

notyummy · 14/10/2011 12:24

DH was musing this morning on whether to do a Shred or not...and then sighed and said 'Well I'm never going to get that cute dent in the side of my butt if I don't, am I?' Grin.

Just back from 10 mile run in the sunshine. Slightly sore knee, but it was ace!

febes · 14/10/2011 20:24

I too have reach a weight loss milestone. I am 5st down from wehen I first started!!! Most of it off since feb when I started 'Jillianing'. My body shape has changed so much too. Although I am still overweight (want to lose another 2st) at 14st4lb (5'11) I am in a size 14 and in the best shape since I was a teenager. I'm off for a 10k cycle and the 3k run this morning to prepare for my duathlon in 3 weeks!!

notyummy · 14/10/2011 21:02

Amazing stuff Febes! Really inspirational.

Jacksterbear · 15/10/2011 15:25

WOW Venetia, knotty and febes, that's awesome weightloss! You go girls!

I am maintaining now, have reached 9st target (down from 11.5 stone a year ago after having DD, and from about 10st4 in April when I started shredding).

Inspired by this thread I did BFBM circuits 1-4 this morning, it was hard but not quite as bad as I had imagined it would be! [hgrin]

notyummy · 15/10/2011 18:27

Did 10 mile run in the sunshine yesterday and enjoyed nearly all of it.

DH and I did NMTZ together this morning, which I also enjoyed in a bizarre way.

5 mile run tomorrow and a rest day on Monday.

practicallyimperfect · 15/10/2011 21:30

Hello ladies. Well I went up to level 2. And actually it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, didn't seem like the step up I was expecting. But I have found it harder to be motivated- I just don't enjoy it so much. I hate the cardio stuff, all the twisting and ice skater jump things. I much prefer plain old jumping jacks.

I am finding even 20mins difficult to fit in. I work full time (teacher) and have a two yr old. So some days it is choosing to do DVD or spend less time with him. I tried doing it after he went to bed, but then couldn't sleep!

I will try and persevere with level 2, even thinking of going down a level just to get back into it.

And my weight is up and down 3lbs loss one week, 1.5 lb gain the next. I haven't shifted very far in 4 weeks.

Jacksterbear · 16/10/2011 09:12

Keep at it practically don't give up! It's so tough to find the time isn't it! I would like to exercise more than I do but only find the time at most 3x a week at the moment. Do you get a chance at weekends? I try and do both Sat and Sun and then find the time on one weekday.

knottyhair · 16/10/2011 09:31

Wow febes, 5 stone down! That's brilliant Smile! And you Jackster, well done! You were the same as me I think, I was 11 stone 4 back in January, and am just under 9 stone now. Feel sooo much better. Notyummy, enjoy your run and I hope your DH is on the way to getting the cute dent Grin. Practically, as Jackster said, keep going and just fit it in when you can. Have you looked at your diet as well? I wouldn't have lost the weight with the exercise alone, I had to cut down although I always thought I ate healthily (I did, just a bit too much of it Blush). MFP has been invaluable for keeping me on track, although I know it's a bit time consuming at the beginning logging all your food, and you sound like you don't need any more demands on your time.

Did a L1 6W6P this morning - still find it a good workout but I'm definitely not as half-dead at the end of the first run through as I used to be! Am making a toffee apple cake this afternoon, although I hope most of it will disappear via DP & DS and I only "have to" eat a little bit Grin. Hope everyone's having a good weekend x

OP posts:
practicallyimperfect · 16/10/2011 09:59

I'm doing slimming world, so have already lost some through diet alone. I just feel like if I don't do it every day like you are supposed to it isn't worth it. Going to do it today.
