LOL solo! You need to go to bed earlier, avoid those late night nibbles! I am very impressed by your lack of snacking during the day, that is my downfall Smile

ppeatfruit · 30/08/2011 09:35

Morning all! but Gig as Solo knows Hi there (waves) one of the things you'll find as you get more into this and really listen to your body is you feel hungry more often because you literally CANNOT eat a 'normal" meal any more I have to get a doggy bag in restaurants and put the rest of my meals in the fridge at home!

So sort of snacking is a meal for me IYSWIM e.g. (for breakfast yesterday I had 5 walnut haves and 4 plums) and an apple can fill me up now!!

GiganticusBottomus · 30/08/2011 10:59

Lol pp - still waiting for that to happen!

BsshBossh · 30/08/2011 15:10

Argh, I switched from powerwalking to running a few weeks ago and have put on a few pounds despite still following PMcK principles. Hoping it's a combination of water retention and developing muscles. Clothes are fitting really well, but the scales are depressing me. Hoping my body adjusts to the new more rigourous exercise regimen and the weight creeps down again. Will report back in 2 weeks. PS yes yes I know not to pay attention to the scales but I can't help it Blush.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 30/08/2011 15:28

Hi all, my face is slowly deflating, so I am starting to feel like myself again. I am proud that I was able to Paul all through being ill and being in pain! Its really starting to feel normal for me, the Paul way of eating. I no longer feel like i am "trting", Im just doing. I still isten to 2 cds everynight,a nd think that helps a lot.

BsshBossh · 30/08/2011 15:48

Good news HowTo!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 30/08/2011 18:40

Thanks. Hoping it sticks this time!

PositiveAttitude · 30/08/2011 20:52

I really should not have had that rather large piece of chocolate cake. Blush

I have felt too full tonight and I really dont like it. I felt like that after eating about half of what I would have eaten before PM, though.

Solo · 31/08/2011 00:40

Hi pp :)

Ate too much for dinner at Mum's tonight. Still left a fair whack of mash though. Not sure why she piled my plate up tbh, though I did say I was starving hungry ~ which I was! but I wasn't that hungry!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 31/08/2011 08:33

Envy jealous!

GiganticusBottomus · 31/08/2011 08:40

How are you lot overcoming the emotional side of eating. Things are a bit tricky here at the moment and I can feel myself wanting to eat to help me cope. I'm going to read PM's chapter on emotional eating again but wondered if you have any tips too?
Thanks Smile

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 31/08/2011 10:36

Morning everyone :) I'm struggling a bit this week, I am so tired after our weekend rushing around everywhere and DS2 is sleeping better but not brilliantly.

Giganticus - I haven't really got any tips as such, just to say that I am gradually finding it easier to steer clear of food as an emotional crutch.

BsshBossh · 31/08/2011 11:05

Hi Giganticus, I too don't have any tips on emotional eating but I second what Alibaba said that, for me at least, it gets so much easier the longer you stick to PMcK principles. I don't instinctively reach for food when I'm feeling out of sorts anymore.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 31/08/2011 12:07

I too find it easier the more I listen to teh CD. I think you need at least 2 weeks of listening to it daily for it to sink in. I still get teh odd day where it takes me by surprise, then the feeling fades & I generally dont emtionally eat now. I was ill recently, and that woudl usually make me eat (to self medicate I think), but this time I didnt. I feel amazing for it!

GiganticusBottomus · 31/08/2011 12:16

Hi - I am listening to the cd every night (although as I mentioned the other day, I always fall asleep after 5 mins - PM says that doesn't matter though) - I think dh is getting fed up of me falling asleep to the dulcet tones of another man though Grin I've been listening to it for about 2 weeks now but I have a hell of a lot of diet learning and body hating to undo so maybe it will take a bit longer!!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 31/08/2011 14:39

I always fall asleep Grin When do you get the emotional hunger pangs? Have you worked out yoru "triggers"? That helped me a lot, I know tiredness/boredom are huge triggers for me. Sometimes just knowing whats making me want to eat is enough for me to tell myself to get a grip, and do something that will actually make me feel better.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 31/08/2011 15:14

Yes I always fall asleep too Grin

Wish I could listen to it now and drop off, it is Bedlam here today.

GiganticusBottomus · 31/08/2011 15:14

Howtolookgoodglaikit - tiredness/boredom are definitely triggers for me but more than that is anxiety. If I get bad news or something upsets me i always reach straight for the biscuits, I do know when it is happening - I've got that far Smile but the craving still beats me at times - tapping just doesn't cut the mustard. Are you using the tapping technique successfully?

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 01/09/2011 08:05

I have used the tapping successfully, I also bought 2 books on tapping/EFT which help me too (not just with weightloss, but with positivity amd stress too). When you reach for the buscuits, can you eat just one then ask yourself if it made you feel better?

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 01/09/2011 08:07

Also, the havening technique Paul showed us at the seminar is great for when you feel anxious/stressed, Ill link you to a post by whomovedmychocolate who kindly posted it for us.

Hello.

How lovely of you, Niecie to think of me. I haven't been well at all (had 2 serious asthma attacks after the shingles and haven't been great mentally) and just left this thread in shame really. But I am back (if you will have me) and I need ot get my arse act together.

I have broken off reading the book to have some breakfast, 3 bites so far and put it down Shock and have weighed myself.

13stone 2.4 lbs. The scales also tell me fat and water percentages but I haven't found the instructions yet for what that means and what I should be, so I will leave that for now.

I am free until 3pm and have already decided I am going to go into town for a bit of house shopping before the kids come back and it is all full on again. I intend to read most of the book if not all too and listen to the CD at least once. I listen at bed time but sleep through some of it so not sure if it is working. Having said that, his I can mend your broken heart worked after one read of the book and 2 listens of the CD Shock.

I hope everyone is well and hope to catch up with you all soon.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 01/09/2011 08:28

Welcome back Fab, I too have abandoned the thread when I wasnt doing so good Blush Wowo at how quickly Paul mended your broken heart Shock. Hope it sticks for you this time :)

TheOriginalFAB · 01/09/2011 08:33

I really think it will. I feel Blush at how easy it has appeared to go but to be fair I didn't know about the book and bought it as soon as I did! And I have had counselling..

I have had about 3 bites of breakfast and now I am not interested in any more Shock.
