Good morning all.Sorry about yr dad Niecie a good retort would be " I can loose weight easily but it's much harder to stop being a bully" (Not that he'd understand!!). Welcome back silvery!! it's good to see so many returners and newies on here!! Smile

Howto that sounds a really fun thing to do the only prob. for me would be the ' not eating when you're full' rule how are you going to get past that? I just have either a starter and half the main or a main and half a pud!!In the beyond choc book it suggests buying TONS of the food you crave and keeping it in a cupboard so you know it's there but don't want it 'cos you CAN eat it! Reverse psychology or whatever!!

Silvery My Success story!!.... i have lost the 2 stone i was aiming to; (have just bought a size 10 dress in M& S admitttedly!!) also still maintaining which has always been hard for me!!! and have got my figure back with help from exercises (stretches and dancing, walking, general gardening , housework etc.) Not crunches or jogging!!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 27/08/2011 09:48

ppeatfruit, I do that already, I have boxes of crisps in my kitchen, but I am never tempted to eat them. Before, they would have been gone in a few days :( If I dont have plenty of food in the house, with lots of snacks, I panic and get an overwhelming urge to binge. So I keep loads of my fave snacks in, and hardly eat them Grin

Not sure how to handle tonight to be honest. I will have a small slice of bread with pate, a small serving of rice - Im planning on putting it out on the table to help yourselves, so hopefully no-one will notice my tiny portion, then maybe skip dessert or nibble at a small piece of the cheesecake.

You are doing so well PP, you are our success story Grin

SilveryMoon · 27/08/2011 10:06

Wow PP well done Grin I am so pleased for you.

MuffinsMummy · 27/08/2011 19:23

Evening all :)

Niecie I know that what people say can be hurtful but you are trying to make a permenant change to your life and should feel very proud of yourself!

ppeatfruit that's brilliant!

Hello to everybody else, congratulations to everybody who is having success and I know how you are feeling to those that aren't!

My manic 2 weeks are now over but I just can't get back into it again! I have had a lot on my mind, nursery fees increase and xh being a knob! I am going to try and put the cd back on my phone again tomorrow which will hopefully help.

Better bath youngest 2 but might not be easy as DD1 is in the garden with her friends and DD2 wants to tell them off :D

ppeatfruit · 28/08/2011 09:23

Thanks everyone Smile but c'mon Muffins and howto you're doing well too aren't you? if you're coasting you are aware of HOW to do it and know you can get straight back into it when you're in a better place mentally and physically.

To the newies that is the BEST thing about Paul Mckenna you can just pick it up when you want to no buying shit diet foods or forking out and enriching the owners of crappy humiliating clubs run by Matt Lucas Grin.

Hi all, Im still about, need to catch up on teh thread, but Im feeling rather ill and cant sit at the PC fo rlong. That headache I had has turned out to be an abcess in my face :( Its swollen to twice its size on one side, I look weird :( Can hardly see out of my eye. Dr thinks its badly infected sinuses that has turned into an abcess. Im on 2 strong lots of ABs, one of which I have to take with food or I will be sick so I am kinda eating outside of my hunger a wee bit to accomodate that. My body is still trying to Paul though, which is great! I will just nibble a craker or half a slice of bread, so its not huge amounts. Hope to catch up with the thread soon x

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 29/08/2011 00:37

How To SadSad That sounds horrid, really hope the AB's clear it up soon and you feel better.

I have eaten far too much today, and drink far too much. Family BBQ, DH driving, too squiffy too early in the day. Whoops GrinGrin

Wore my new dress. It is a little on the big side GrinGrin

Solo · 29/08/2011 01:27

Oh HowTo you poor lady! Hope you feel better soon.x

Ali you showoffski you!!! Grin

PositiveAttitude · 29/08/2011 05:17

Hope you feel better soon Howto. That sounds awful! Sad

Well done on the dress being big Ali

Well done you PP.

I will feel more relaxed with this again when the DCs return to school. I have also slipped into a bad habit of picking in the evening again. Sad Angry
AF arrived, as I suspected, though, so that explained my hoover tendencies last week! Hmm This Pauling has definitely made me conscious of what my body is saying to me, which I enjoy.
Oh and yesterday I wore a pair of jeans that I have NEVER been able to put on, let alone wear out of the house! I was given them 4 years ago and they have been at the bottom of the wardrobe to be dreamt about!! Grin

ppeatfruit · 29/08/2011 08:24

Morning all Smile Well done about the jeans PA Dreams really DO come true with Mckenna!!! Should be our next title!!!! how's the no wheat thing going?

Sorry about the abcess Howto How did the come dine with me thing go? Or did you have to cancel it due to feeling crap? You may still have an intolerance to chicken and or pork (most docs know nothing about that sort of thing)Try giving them up for a week or 2 and see how it goes.

solo how's it going?

MamcanIhave · 29/08/2011 09:35

Ok, I've only just joined mumsnet, and this is my very first post! I've been thinking about losing my babyweight once and for all (about time - my youngest is nearly 2!) so i am going to do this! It seems easy enough- stop eating when you're full......I hardly ever feel full though :o Anyhoo, let's give it a go.

GiganticusBottomus · 29/08/2011 09:55

Arch! Struggling again. I'm huuuuuuuungry! (and I've already had a perfectly decent breakfast). I seem to have lost my calm mojo a bit, mostly due to stepping on the scales this morning to find I had put ON 1/2 a lb. GRRRRrrr. This diet mentality is hard to stop. I'm weighing myself every few days rather than every day but I know it should be less. I just can't get rid of the fear that if I am not 'dieting properly' I could Paul for a week, step on the scales and find out I have put weight on and I don't have time for that as I am trying to lose weight for a family event

Welcome mamcanihave - I am a newbie too Smile

Well done on the jeans PA - such satisfaction getting into clothes isn't there? I have put on so much weight during the year I am dieting to get back into the skinny jeans (emphasis on the jeans not the skinny) I was wearing last autumn Blush Grin

GiganticusBottomus · 29/08/2011 09:57

Just to clarify - newbie to Paul - I've been hanging around on this site for years (am prolific name changer!) Mumsnet is absolutely brilliant, there's always someone with an answer to any question you have.

yeswedohaveatv · 29/08/2011 10:10

Thanks GiganticusBottomus (what a brilliant name - ha)

I was obsessed with weighing myself a while back - every morning and evening, or basically every time I went in the bathroom!!!! I threw them out eventually, and have now become accustomed to measuring my waist instead! Just as destructive! Anyway, hopefully this group will give some motivation.
Thank you for the welcome.xxxx

PositiveAttitude · 29/08/2011 10:31

Welcome Yeswedo. Smile When I started this, I never felt full. If you consciously eat you will soon start to recognise the feeling.

Giganticus I do understand your scales obsession problem, but it is really weird I have noticed that if my scales go in the wrong direction there is something else far more positive. What I mean is, my scales have gone in the wrong direction today, but I got into those jeans yesterday, which I could not do 2 weeks ago when I weighed, supposedly less. I am believing less in the weighing than in how I feel and how my clothes feel and look.
Have you tried having a glass of water if you feel hungry again? It might just be thirst, rather than hunger. Then if you are still hungry in 30 minutes, have something to eat.

PP thanks for the encouragement. it wasnt me who was wheat free, not sure who that was.

Hope you all have a good day

yeswedohaveatv · 29/08/2011 10:44

Thanks PA! I will definitely try....Well done you, with the jeans. I'm feeling more motivated than ever! As Nike used to say 'Just Do It'! Remember? Anyone?

Thanks again.
Enjoy your day!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 29/08/2011 10:51

GB - weighing is a hungertrigger for me, no idea why! Everytime I weight myself, I had an irristable urge to eat all day after. This happens even if I have gained or lost! So now I just dont weigh myself. I feel the weight coming off, so thats enough for me, as I cant cope with the binge feeling.

Welcome yeswedohaveaTV/MumcanIhave - which name will you be sticking with? Are you using Pauls book/CD or just following the 4 golden rules? We are a lovely bunch here, Im sure you will do well.

ppeatfruit - my CDWM evening was brilliant! It was duringthat evening that my face swelled up, but I coped fine. I was doped up on planty painkillers! Everyone loved my food and they all took doggy bags home! I ate soem of everything, but wasnt stuffed at the end so that was ok. Probably more full than I am used to now, but not tha bloated horid feeling.

Thanks guys, I think I am slowly on teh emnd, my face is still huge but its not quite as painfull as it was yesterday. Hope you all have a fab day!

yeswedohaveatv · 29/08/2011 11:04

Ha ha! Just changed my name to yeswedohaveatv. It's the same name as my recently started blog, so one I will remember. I forget usernames and passwords constantly!!!! Very annoying! So trying to keep them the same.

I am going to start with the rules, but may pop out for the book later, the rules seem simple enough so it's just a bit of brain training. Not to eat til fit to burst........
Just caught up a bit on this thread and see you had an abcess - ouch! Get better soon.x

ppeatfruit · 29/08/2011 14:03

I'm getting confused now!!!! If you're just starting firstly you are all very welcome Smile you've found the BEST way to loose weight!!

I really GOT IT when i started chewing each mouthful 20 times but use it as a guide not a target!!! (with yr eyes closed if poss.!!)

No it's not eating till you're full to bursting GrinBut only when you're hungry and always have some water firstly as P.A. says. Sorry if i confused you with someone else DUH!!

yeswedohaveatv · 29/08/2011 15:01

Ha ha! I meant it's about training my brain to stop eating when i'm full instead of my usual habit of eating till i burst!!!

MuffinsMummy · 29/08/2011 16:07

Afternoon all.

Hello to everybody who is new. Good luck with Pauling, it is really very simple.

Howto that sounds really nasty, hope your feeling better soon.

Ali congratulations on the jeans. Fitting into smaller clothes feels better than seeing the scales move down!

My nephew who is 16 came down from London last weekend for DD3s christening last weekend with his mum and enjoyed it so much he decided to come back this weekend on his own. I think it had more to do with my 17 year old DSD than me though. They have been sleeping down stairs on the floor together!

I haven't been doing so well lately but woke up this morning determined to stick to the rules more. I have been snacking in the evening, not eating slowly and not stopping when full. That is going to stop today!

I have dyed my hair, just waiting to rinse it off. I look like I have had a bath in the stuff! It's all over my ears, hands and arm!

I'm going out with my parents for dinner at a local pub. If I am full from themain course I will not be having pudding!

Will try and catch up with u all tomorrow.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 29/08/2011 23:03

Confessional. Today has been disastrous!

Too much time in the car, an extra and unplanned journey late in the day. Oh dear.

Start again tomorrow Smile

PositiveAttitude · 29/08/2011 23:05

Dont worry Ali just hop straight back in tomorrow!!

Solo · 29/08/2011 23:21

Going to eat cereal now.
