Hi

Can I join back in? I lost almost a stone in the summer, went on holiday and then well and truly fell off the wagon.

I have just loaded the app onto my iPad so no excuse now.

I am not starting until Monday though Grin

Mainly because for some daft reason we are having one of those Chinese takeaway bags from Asda and it will have my daily allowance in it before I start (plus going to Mums for Sunday lunch).

I did really well last time and was regularly losing 1-2lb a week. I dread to think how much go it I have put back on. I will get on the scales Tuesday.

Sleepycaz-sorry you are having a bad day. TTC is an evil combination of excitement, optimism and frustration.

Dillydaydreaming · 07/01/2012 20:13

Welcome PegPolkadot. Look me up if you want. I am amanda3266.Smile

Even my Dad is registering on the site - can't wait to read his posts as he can bea bit ...er....randomGrin

ClicksArse · 07/01/2012 20:33

Hi Peg, feel free to add me too. User name is Wycombegirl1983.

Am feeling like pap today so have used very few calories. Shame most of the ones I have used have been on mugs of tea with loads of sugar Sad

Not constructive... Not constructive at all!

bexsybooboo · 07/01/2012 22:42

Well burned a few nice calories today but have still managed to be over my cals by 51 but do you know what the slice of clotted cream and strawberry cheesecake was lovely Grin

Went to my mums for tea so would have been rude to decline Smile

Good job a run is booked in for tomorrow and it is nearly Monday, I am very good Sunday - Thursday but Friday and Saturdays hmmmm not my finest days so controlled.

Hate to say it as means I am bringing on going back to work but roll on Monday

Good to see how well peeps are doing on MFP though does keep me on the straight and narrow almost most of the time Smile

PippiL · 07/01/2012 22:42

Crikey all the exercise going on here sound v good.

Just been diagnosed with wonky bones in my heel meaning I will never really be able to run again or walk huge distances. It is a bit poo, but then I never was one for running!
So cross trainer and swimming it is then.

I've let myself go over cals a bit today, but only by a couple of hundred and back on track tomorrow. Early weigh ins indicate at least 1lb so far, proper weigh in on weds.

I'm emblestrembles if anyone else wants to add me.

ditavonteesed · 08/01/2012 08:58

Ok can I join you? I have just joined mfp and logged my last 2 days food. my user name is the same as this.
basics, I currently weigh 13 2,(have lost 2lb since new year) would like to weigh 9 7 but anything under 10 will do very nicely. I lost 4 stone a few years ago but have gradually put 3 of those back on again. It is mmy best friends 40th in May and I would like to look fabualous by then. I will read through the whole thread later but I am off to take the dc swimming in a minute.

I am shredding atm, only on day 4 and usually give up about day 10 so determined to keep it going this time.

Fenouille · 08/01/2012 10:00

Pippi, very Sad for you. I have a similar problem and it's so frustrating. Sounds like you gave a good plan though.

RG what a fabulous bargain you got.

Bexsy, know what you mean about work stress - running to clear your head sounds like the perfect antidote.

I've decided I really need to find some exercise I can do with my dodgy knee as despite being pretty good calorie wise I am not losing anything at the moment and I'm feeling bloated and horrible. I also need to stop snacking but as I didn't buy any crisps yesterday during my weekly shop I'm feeling more positive I'll be able to cut back this week.

I saw some of you have been chucking the Christmas goodies leftovers. Can't quite bring myself to do that but I have taken a few things into work and I'll take some more next week too. Trouble is, most of my colleagues have had the same idea so we've got a constant pile of snacks on our office table. Thank goodness my desk is facing away from it so I don't have to look at it. I was very restrained last week and looks like I'll have to be for the foreseeable future

BistoBear · 08/01/2012 11:28

I've just added a lot of people from this thread but had to stop because you can only add so may people at a time! Please feel free to add me, I'm emmawalks

Used MFP last year, have always been into my exercise but love my food! Did zero exercise in December and ate like a demon so I'm seeing a big change in my body shape! I'm now heavier than I've ever been and my clothes are a tight but not in a good way!

I got my monthly gym pass in Wednesday, did boot camp on Wednesday, circuits on Friday and tonight I'm going to Body Pump followed by Body Combat, bring it on!

Diet wise, the only processed food I'm eating is wholemeal or wholegrain bread and breakfast cereals, everything else is non-processed. Lots of fruit, veg, pulses etc.

I'm a nursing student and I'm on placement in theatres at the moment; there's nothing like a week watching surgeries to spur on the healthy eating and exercise!

Happy weightloss everyone :)

PippiL · 08/01/2012 12:15

Fenouille, I have the office treats problem too. I managed to resist last week, just turned away. Be strong you can do it.
Can you swim on your dodgy knee? I think it is really the only exercise I can do without pain. Plus I do enjoy it once I get there.

At the moment, I am having success just visualising myself say 1 stone lighter. It is helping the motivation.

Plus I think tracking everything on mfp even if you go over is a really good way to cut down. Helps to see it all in black and white.

mrswoodentop · 08/01/2012 15:08

Have added a few of you on my friends ,am surprised just how much more motivated I feel just reading everyone's updates on MFP.It does really seem to help to feel that you are not on your own.

MamaGeekChic · 08/01/2012 15:51

Me please coco2901 :)

ditavonteesed · 08/01/2012 17:45

am thoroughly enjoying the site. like having friends, it's better than food focus and I can see how it will be motivating.

bexsybooboo · 08/01/2012 18:32

Whoop Smile but also not so whoop Sad to the weekend. I tend to do so much better during the week.

Well aiming for a 30minute run tomorrow, not sure how successful it will be as taking the dog with me bless her and depending what mood she's in depends if we get along during the run lol. Then running Wednesday with mate from work as we are going to start training together for our 10k in March, I am petrified as only ever run on my own to save embarrassment Blush

Everyone is doing so well am loving reading the calorie burns that are going on Smile

Can't believe we are now entering 2nd week of January so only 3 weeks for me to lose 7ibs Shock best get me arse in gear then including going back to only having 1 treat day per week Grin

Good luck for the week peeps Smile

Dillydaydreaming · 08/01/2012 19:32

Am loving all the updates about the excess cals some of us have had today Grin

bexsybooboo · 08/01/2012 20:40

Mine was yesterday and still dreaming about the clotted cream and strawberry cheesecake I had Grin it was lush but back to reality with a thud Smile

GeekLove · 08/01/2012 21:35

Hello! New person here I am ScaryJ on MFP. I have been using it intermittently but I do find it a faff filling it in! Still if there is plenty of us here the. I will have to keep up!
Today not been the best of days with an overeating of 420 cals :( bit I have. Een doing all the weeks lunch cooking. The wine is a danger - surprisingly calorific!

QueenStromba · 08/01/2012 22:38

Welcome to the thread everyone. I can't find you GeekLove - are you sure you've given us the right username?

GeekLove · 08/01/2012 23:14

You're right it is the wrong one! It's iateallthebees as my MFP username.

Dillydaydreaming · 09/01/2012 07:00

I have sent you a friend request Geeklove. I am amanda3266 on MFP.

RGPargy · 09/01/2012 09:18

Good grief!! It'll take me ages to catch up since my last post!! Great that you lot talk loads Grin

Had a bad weekend food wise and alcohol wise. Back on the wagon (again) this week.

Hello and welcome to the newbies! Feel free to add me! Am off to pump in a mo and think I will go tonight too for a step class coz I need to burn off the tub of ice cream I ate yesterday whilst watching a film Blush

Have a good day all!! Grin

watchoutforthatsnail · 09/01/2012 11:22

hello all... im back. ( was redderthanred)

guess what, i got a bit fat again.
now - theres a shocker huh.

on the plus side its not as fat as i originally started out, and i can still fit in a size 14, but, im still fat.

have been wanting to do somethng about it since nov, but with xmas i realised i was setting myself up for a fall, and i just ate and ate, and then ate some more.
2nd jan all the bad stuff went in the bin ( or got given away to people) and im back on low carb, no sugar, lean protein and veg.

:)

started on mpf again as i was curious as to how much i was eating and i KNOW it WORKS>

hope you will have me back?

RGPargy · 09/01/2012 12:18

Hello red! Welcome back! It's really easy to slip back into old ways isn't it. The whole month of December has been a write off for me and I'm struggling to get back on the wagon again but I'm confident I'll get there pretty soon. Im sure you will too!

Grin
watchoutforthatsnail · 09/01/2012 12:59

god yeah, its really easy. getting close ( 1 stone ) to my goal weight, and loosing quite a lot made me think i was a bit immue to cals, so i started eating and because i didnt suddenly balloon, i thought it was ok... 3 months down the line and my jeans were tight. I really wanted to sort it out before christmas, so started a half hearted attemp, but i was dying to get back to it. Ive made the switch really quick and have been eating cleanly for a week, no cheating, 1000- 1200 cals a day and i feel fab.

PegPolkadot · 09/01/2012 13:24

Day one here (again).

So far I have skipped breakfast (bad I know) and have had a bagel for lunch.

I am sat here thinking of all the biscuits, chocolates and Christmas cake in the cupboard. The quality street in particular are very tempting!

I have no willpower and am bound to eat something!

PerditaMcLeod · 09/01/2012 13:57

Hello, another new convert to mfp who would like to join you! Signed up today and trying to undo my festive excesses (and those of all the previous year!)

Bought some bathroom scales today and dreading my first weigh in. Still, at least I know the second time I step on them the number won't be as high as the first time!

Would love some mfp friends- I am backinthesaddleagain so may well friend request some of you!

Good luck everyone!!
