pippil I eat some of my exercise calories but this is because when I first started doing MFP weight loss was either very slow or no loss. Had a chat with a friend who is also doing it and I do think it was because I wasn't eating enough. I would be under 1200 cals only by a bit but always under but think my body didn't like it, so started eating just over 1200 and would leave about 150-300 cals spare from exercise and the weight loss increased and more regularly but sustainable Smile it worked for me but may not work for others

bexsybooboo · 05/01/2012 22:17

Forgot to add this time round on my healthy eating kick I am being really good at logging everything even if I know I will go over allowance, this way I can monitor my eating habits and not slip in to old habits Smile

PippiL · 05/01/2012 22:42

I'm doing 1350 cals, think that should be 1 lb a week. 1200 must be haaaard.

Yep must log everything, I can see me forgetting some stuff, so forward planning and using the phone app should help.

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 05/01/2012 22:44

Thanks to those who added me! Will hopefully spur me on to keep with it, if others can see! I need to go get weighed tomorrow, if I get chence. My weight logged on there is pre-christmas, so could be completely wrong!

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 05/01/2012 22:47

Just realised I haven't been logging my tea habit- about 6-8 cups a day Xmas Shock Hope it doesn't affect it too much. No sugar but very milky.

tardisjumper · 05/01/2012 22:50

1200 is haaard! They should tell you when you start losing weight that the thinner you get the less you can eat! Being 5'2'' is the pits.

I have eaten all my 300 exercise calories today but didn't earlier this week. I have lots of socialising this w/e so saving it up.

bexsybooboo · 06/01/2012 07:00

Well I am back to my pre christmas and new year binge weight so all is good Grin

3ibs off this week so looking forward to next week and hopefully seeing the weight decrease a little more. Hoping to lose 6/7ibs by February to get me to the just below 13 stone mark which would be a massive achievement and another lightest moment for me Smile

Have dropped from a size 20/22 to a nice comfortable 18 Grin and can't wait til I can comfortably get in a size 16 which apparently is average size for uk ladies, oooo I am getting excited as I can see the changes and that proves it is doable and MFP works a big whoop Smile

Good luck to all for WI's this week Smile

Dillydaydreaming · 06/01/2012 07:47

Massive well done to you Bexsy. You r now my inspiration (am starting at size 22/24). It's great to hear from someone else using MFP so successfully.

bexsybooboo · 06/01/2012 07:56

Dilly you can do it, I am
Proof. Honestly the amount of diets I have done and given up within first 2 months because I get bored or too difficult too eat completely different from the family and cost implications.

We can all do this and do it at our own pace, we have a bad day but we don't beat ourselves up over it we just start again Smile good luck

whyme2 · 06/01/2012 08:11

I feel like I am moving so slowly this week. I have done okay during the daytime but have still resorted to some evening snacks Blush

And I have had poorly dd so I have been up in the night and tired and grumpy during the day with limpet dd.

I really need to make a proper exercise plan and then to discuss with dh in order to get the time to do it. Otherwise I will not get anywhere.

bexsy you are very inspiring. Thank you. Smile

QueenStromba · 06/01/2012 08:39

Told you you'd get the Christmas weight off in no time Bexsy :)

I've now lost my Christmas five pounds (all water weight probably) plus an extra 1.5 which takes me to 11 stone 13.5 pounds :D

bexsybooboo · 06/01/2012 08:58

queenstromba that is brilliant news and with the extra loss on top Smile that deserves a double whoop Grin

whyme I have a rough exercise plan in I know how many runs I would like to get in a week but if they don't happen I wait for my youngest to go to bed and the step on the wii an have even been known to go up and down the stairs a couple of times just Sony feel I have done something Smile

bexsybooboo · 06/01/2012 08:59

Sorry for spelling am sat on jumpy/ shaky bus trying to type Wink

OneLieIn · 06/01/2012 09:19

whyme I am doing c25k which means that I am running out three times a week. I committed to myself that I would do something every day. Last night I walked to the offy for dh, but walked the long way round to the decent one, which was a couple of miles. I honestly find the hardest thing is getting out of the warm centrally heated house, but once I get going, it's ok.

SleepyCaz · 06/01/2012 12:16

MFP username is Cazzie001. Only started on Tue! Had a terrible day food wise yesterday, got a BFN and had a pizza Blush to commiserate, as am TTC.

Onwards and upwards though! Anyone got any good tips for low low low fat evening meals?

:)

Dillydaydreaming · 06/01/2012 12:22

Welcome Sleepycaz- don't beat yourself up about bad days - just log it all anyway and then start afresh the next day. I've only been going since Tuesday too. Am amanda3266 - will look you up.

journoem · 06/01/2012 18:12

Hello! I just joined MFP (username is emmaonamission if anyone wants to add me, please do as it's ever so lonely at the moment Grin). I am following Slimming World although not that strictly at the moment which I believe isn't really compatible with MFP because you don't count calories and all that, but I just want somewhere to note what I eat down and to talk to others that are on the same journey, and it seems like a good place for that :)

I have finally conquered my snacking problem I think...had a little tub of almonds, dried mango and dried strawberries today and I loved them. No more chocolate for me! Hopefully...

mrswoodentop · 06/01/2012 19:23

journeyI am hoping to do the same as you with SW and MFP,doing OK with MFP at the moment but think without the structure of SW I will fall off the wagon ,plus I need to change my attitude to food and my experience of cal counting is that I will start to skip meals, eat oddly etc to keep within the target.
I have the same user name in MFP as on hereSmile

OneLieIn · 06/01/2012 22:23

Can someone tell me how to add notes to my day?

RGPargy · 06/01/2012 23:14

Hi everyone :)

Had a good day yesterday and Wednesday but today has been not so good. I would ok during the day but then DP tempted me with a takeaway and although i only had a chicken kebab skewer, i think the "few" chips that went with it didn't help, nor did the pitta bread. I also ended up having a few segments of a chocolate orange. Blush :( At least i've not had any booze tonight or yesterday so that's a good start lol.

I am off to the gym for pump tomorrow morning tho so hope to burn some of it off. Having said that, i haven't been booking my classes as normally we dont have to but as it's the new year i thought i'd best book myself on because all the "New Year's Rezzers" will be storming into the classes and taking us "regulars" spaces Wink Anyway, i had to go onto the wait list and i was very shocked at the number i am on the wait list - number 17 no less!!! Shock I have now moved down to number 16 lol. Having said that, those from numbers 5-16 wont bother to turn up probably and a few who have booked the class wont turn up either so i am pretty confident i'll get in. Hmm

I picked up my new winter coat from House of Fraser last night (I bought it online and had it delivered to my local store). I was terrified that the size 20 wouldn't fit me but it was absolutely fine! What's even better is that when i bought it online, it had been reduced from £169 (Shock) to £99. However when i tried the coat on, the lining in one of the sleeves had been sewn in a bit twisted which meant it was a little uncomfortable on the arm. I ummed and ahhhed a bit with the shop assistant and asked if she could give me a discount on it because it was the last one in stock. She checked with her manager and said that i could have it for HALF PRICE!! ShockShock So in the end, due to a further discount too, i ended up paying £44.50 for a £169 designer coat!!! GET IN!!!!! :o :o

bexsybooboo · 07/01/2012 09:00

RGPARGY Bloody good news on the designer coat and great news it fits nicely Smile

Like you I have had good days since Monday but yesterday was downhill. No breakfast, 2 bananas for lunch, coffee throughout day, chicken and jacket for dinner (so not too bad) but then I had pack of walkers crisp and chocolate bar oh and 2 x 500ml bottles of cider which I enjoyed regretted instantly.

Was a very stressful day at work and I need to look at how I handle these days especially as next 5 weeks are going to be painful awful and stressful in work. May have to do a Forest Gump and keep on running. Should have gone out last night but was so deflated/drained with work I just couldn't bring myself to go out the cider was calling me.

But hey ho have a full day today, have to blitz the house so that will be a burn of about 500 calories, going to do a zumba session so hopefully another 450 calorie burn and then tomorow out running seems a waste not to go now I have completed couch 25k dependent on weather also it really does give me headspace and will ensure I am within food goals/target calories, fat etc.

Welcome to all newbies you will love this thread it is very supportive and we are all doing so well and showing that MFP accompanied with exercise works Smile

Username if anyone would like to add me is Bexsy on MFP.

Am sending positive thoughts and vibes through the powere if t'internet to all Grin

whostolemyname · 07/01/2012 12:07

Crumbs i really struggling to stay on the straight and narrow. I love this app, and am doing lots of exercise but I have no self control when it comes to food! Someone kick me up the bum!

Dillydaydreaming · 07/01/2012 14:30

Bloody hell! Just weighed myself at 17 stone and half a pound. So my assessment of "about 16st 7llb" at the start was a bit out then Blush?

I now estimate about 17st 5lbs or so instead Blush

mrswoodentop · 07/01/2012 17:10

I am finding snacking difficult ,can't help putting my hand in the cupboard

SleepyCaz · 07/01/2012 17:29

Hi everyone and well done on (nearly!) another full MFP day :)

I have had a spectacularly awful day, food wise. Have eaten choc and crap all day. Was 3g over my fat limit by 3pm, and have had 2 cans of lager and 2 Quality Street since then :( Period has shown up though, so that's my punishment, I guess. Am TTC you see. What a crap day.
