jchochip No special equipment just the game which should come with a Zumba belt to hold the remote control.

There is a Zumba calculator I use and it bases burn on your weight and intensity of Zumba programme you followed:
www.zumbacalories.com

I am currently trying to work through the programme/classes to unlock the Zumbathon god I feel like a kid again lol Grin

PippiL · 04/01/2012 21:38

Hello, can I join?. Added a few peeps already.
I'm emblestrembles I think. Have to admit I need some arse kicking. Not been logging very well, though new year new start and all.
I'm about 12 st 2 though I honestly think the scales are lying to me.

Today I have mainly been trying to stop eating crap. My aim is to not eat crap and move more!

banana87 · 04/01/2012 21:42

I think I need a wii Blush. Will look into it, I can get wii fit and wii zumba, though with a newborn I have no idea when I'd do it!!
I've just been told off by MFP for eating too few calories Blush it says not eating enough lowers your metabolism making it harder to lose weight. Oops. Will try eating more tomorrow!!

OneLieIn · 04/01/2012 21:45

Wii Zumba sounds great! Let me get it. I like the idea of dancing in the lounge without being pissed as a rat becoming healthy.

Well done one and all. You are all a fab inspiration on mfp.

Anyone who hasn't added me...comeoninthinsj

bexsybooboo · 04/01/2012 21:46

Sorry another recommendation for fun wii games to help burn calories just Dance 2 & 3 they both have a sweat it out programme and is so much fun to do Grin but then again I love dancing Smile

piellabakewell · 04/01/2012 21:53

I bought Wii Zumba and put it straight back on Amazon marketplace - I thought it was awful! Maybe ok if you go to a class but I found it impossible to follow. It kept telling me how well I was doing when I was standing still, utterly baffled.

I have used Just Dance 3 which is much better but I don't honestly think dancing is my forte. I also have Wii Fit Plus and The Biggest Loser, which is a laugh.

Just got my Jillian Ripped in 30 DVD which has only just been released here, might try it out if I can get DD2 up to bed - dinner at Pizza Express means I have 820 calories to burn off before bedtime!

ClicksArse · 04/01/2012 21:54

Hi PippiL,

I've just accepted your friend request. Your aims sound much the same as mine although so far I am having to do the "move more" in very small movements as any more than that kills me because my fitness levels are appalling!

I have, however, just ordered myself my first pair of trainers in ten years and I fully intend to do a lot more walking when they arrive. I am going to start walking with the purpose of fitness rather than just walking to and from work as I am at the moment!

OneLieIn · 04/01/2012 22:08

I have just dance 3 so maybe I will try that out first.

RGPargy · 04/01/2012 22:11

Hi everyone :o

Thanks for the words of encouragement. It really really helps to know that people are there for you in times of food crisis!! :o

Today i have been quite good, especially in comparison to recent days/weeks! Have just signed off my diary for today and am under my calories, but it does include some exercise calories. I suppose I should be grateful that I'm actually still under rather than hideously over! I like to try and stick to my 1470 cals and not include the exercise cals but at least they are there as a buffer. :)

No gym for me until Sunday now due to work commitments Thurs and Fri and then DD's ballet & disco classes which inconveniently start at the same time as my Saturday pump class! Angry Wink DP and I have come to an agreement tho whereby we take it in turns to take DD to ballet so this week is my week and next week it'll be his week. :)

Welcome PippiL and any other newbies! :o

Dillydaydreaming · 05/01/2012 07:27

Welcome to the other newbies. I am on the grand total of Day 3 today. So far so good. Am definitely going to get the Wii Fit out and the Wii Dance in the machine having read what you've all written here.

Glad you had a better day RP - it's horrible when you feel it's all going pear shaped with diets.

I can see me using this website as long term as MN - so good. Am loving the App on my phone too.

PippiL · 05/01/2012 07:41

Clicksarse my activity level is normally a big fat zero!
Drive kids to school, in next village, drive to work, can't join gym due to cost, living in the middle of nowhere, and dh being at work a lot.

soooo, tonight Matthew, I AM going to get on the cross trainer I bought for the purpose. No excuses. Might only manage 5 mins though!

bexsybooboo · 05/01/2012 09:04

piellabakewell yep have been to classes but the wii is a cheaper option so had a head start with the moves lol BUT I love dancing Grin and music Smile so am a little biased with these games Smile. Instead of the embarrassing dad dance I am always the embarrassing mum on dance floor at family events my teenage daughter loves it NOT Wink but you just gotta haven't you!!! Smile

Dillydaydreaming · 05/01/2012 11:47

Just did 30 mins of Wii Just Dance but it's not on the exercises so just put Wii Exercise beginner - light to moderate for 134 cals.

Homemade beef casserole will be interesting tonight as I've no idea what to put for cals. Won't be too horrendous though - tablespoon of olive oil to seal the meat but that's all.

QueenStromba · 05/01/2012 11:50

You can input the recipe into MFP and it will give you the nutritional breakdown per portion.

Dillydaydreaming · 05/01/2012 11:57

Thanks Queen - just done that and it reckons about 265 cals so not too bad.

ClicksArse · 05/01/2012 18:08

I swam! Admittedly it was splashy, ungainly and not very pretty; and admittedly I only managed 30 x 25 metre lengths in 35 minutes but get me! I swam! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

ClicksArse · 05/01/2012 18:09

And I walked the 15 minutes back from the sports centre! Grin

Fenouille · 05/01/2012 19:01

That's fantastic Click :)

I have to say that seeing all your successes and efforts in mfp everyday is really motivating. I can already see that my portion sizes are going down and I'm making slightly more sensible choices.

ClicksArse · 05/01/2012 20:17

And then I just blew it all when DH whisked me off for an unexpected meal out Sad

bexsybooboo · 05/01/2012 20:35

Whoop very weird mixed feelings tonight, WI tomorrow morning and really unsure which way it is going to go Hmm

Looking forward to reading the other updates/successes of the week Smile

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 05/01/2012 20:44

Would anyone care to add me? I'm csim11. Only just started, but going to try and keep to it- MFP is much more user friendly than foodfocus was!

For anyone who's got the android app, can I ask how you change your portion sizes to 0.5 or whatever- it won't let me put a decimal point in anywhere! It means logging onto the laptop on an evening to change it otherwise.

jchocchip · 05/01/2012 21:22

I keep the decimal that is already there. anoying, but you can fiddle around and alter the number in front and behind the decimal point!

ClicksArse · 05/01/2012 21:29

I have sent you a request BreakOut Grin

Welcome to "The Club"!

jchocchip · 05/01/2012 21:41

couldn't admit to my cousin that her scales don't go high enough for me! oops. Anyway, hope that I haven't put on too much on holiday, trying to log food acurately even tho unfamiliar and lots of walking... WI on Tuesday when I get home!

PippiL · 05/01/2012 22:08

So, do you eat your exercise calls?

I did weightlossresources and found that you should be as accurate as possible with weighing everything and be honest about everything you put in your mouth...food wise!
