Hi everyone :o

Happy New Year to you all! Here's hoping for a leaner and meaner 2012! :o

Mrswoodentop - feel free to add me! Same user name as here! :o

More wine was consumed tonight, but only 2 glasses. A very quiet NYE here tonight. I didn't even have a drink to celebrate the turn of midnight!! Shock I think this is one of the quietest new years i've had for a very long time! Doesn't help that DP has been ill and is still recovering from some sort of virus. Oh well, let's hope the next one is better! :o

jchocchip · 01/01/2012 08:28

Happy New Year everyone. No idea how to log what I ate last night - after he restraint of Christmas, I had a day off as I'm on holiday being entertained with unfamiliar food. Think I'll just add 2000 for the evening I'm sure I normally eat less in one day and there was wine on top...

whostolemyname · 01/01/2012 10:45

Hi everyone

I have read the whole of this thread and the previous one and decided this is the way forward for me. Some very inspiring people here, though imsorry Forever doesn''t post anymore! Have mfp on my phone and want to lose a stone by the end of April, with initial goal to lose 5lbs by 31st January. I hope this is realistic. I am going to be on 1400 calories a day. Wish me luck!

QueenStromba · 01/01/2012 10:53

Welcome to the thread whostolemyname. What's your MFP name so we can add you?

ClicksArse · 01/01/2012 11:05

Hi,

Can I join you? I have had MFP on my phone fir ages but have never used it properly. However, having seen some photos of me taken over the last few days I know I have to do something! I am hoping that knowing that other people can see what I am doing may motivate me to stay on track (bad start today though - woke up and reached straight for the chocolate that my DSS abandoned here the other day!)

My MFP is Wycombegirl1983 and I currently weigh around 13 stone I think (I will weigh in on Friday). My target is 10 stone.

My plan initially is to just try to make better food choices with less fat and sugar, watch my portion sizes a lit more carefully, not snack on crap between meals, and to walk too and from work instead of using buses and taxis - financial bonus too!

Wish me luck ladies...

RGPargy · 01/01/2012 13:16

Hello, welcome and good luck!! :o

Fenouille · 01/01/2012 14:30

Hi clicksarse, your plan sounds similar to mine. Snacking is my downfall. I'm hoping that once I get back to work tomorrow it will be easier to control.

I might start doing the "get off a stop early" trick, although I do get a short workout carrying my DS to the CM every morning.

ClicksArse · 01/01/2012 19:30

Well today went horribly wrong. Felt rough all day after too much Wine last night and spent the afternoon lying on the sofa watching crappy TV and eating my way through the leftover Christmas junk. Then compounded the issue with a trip to my local Carvery.

Am going to try again tomorrow but I have a feeling that this is going to be harder than I first thought!

Am currently feeling very Angry with myself and Sad

Why can't I just resist the urge to eat? My will power is non-existent.

mrswoodentop · 01/01/2012 19:56

Haven't logged today or last night as to be honest it's far to complicated, have had a bit of a fridge clearing though ready for starting in ernest on Tuesday and dh (never puts on weight)is currently eating his way through the last of the puddings .Grin

Anyone want half a Xmas cakeHmm

bexsybooboo · 01/01/2012 20:37

Well that's it christmas and new year nearly done and dusted for another year Xmas Sad

Have had a lovely time and break but back to my exercise routines starting tomorrow with a proper run and then my Wii Zumba and just dance on alternative days and logging all food Xmas Smile

I will be attempting sticking to my 3 meals per day and ensuring plenty of water is drunk sounds quite boring when I think of last week Xmas Grin but liking the results so far so need to keep on at it.

Trying to be down to between 12 and 12 and half stones by March so 1 and a half to get off hoping this will help further with my running and the 10k I am doing Xmas Smile

Good luck for 2012

OneLieIn · 01/01/2012 21:22

Hello, can I join?

I am
comeoninthinsj
On mfp, been doing it a few days. Really really hope I have lost some weight, even a pound would be fab!

It makes me think about what I am eating, which is really really good as I normally used to unconsciously nibble and graze all day.

Are you all fabulous at losing weight because I would hate to buck a trend!!

RGPargy · 02/01/2012 00:50

By the way, whostolemyname, it's really impressive that you have read the whole other thread and this one too!! :o

As for worrying about eating bad stuff today, I am (of recent years) of the opinion that any new years rezzers or vows of self bettering etc can wait until life goes back to normal after Xmas and New Year. When i was young i always used to say "right at midnight on 01/01/199?? i'm going to do X, Y and Z" and then would feel really bad when i couldn't stick to it because i was either too hungover or still in Xmas mode. So i have now come to the conclusion that trying to do new things during the xmas period is not such a good idea for me. Therefore when DD goes back to school on Tuesday, things will go back to normal, foodwise, for me. Thankfully i've kept up with the exercise as much as has been possible so i've had a small amount of damage limitation lol. Blush

I think i've added all the newbies, but feel free to add me if i've missed you off!! Same user name as here! :o

OneLieIn · 02/01/2012 14:01

Thank you! I have friends! Apparently that means I will lose 3 times more weight!

Where do they get the stats?

bexsybooboo · 02/01/2012 16:08

Wii Zumba done, psyching myself up for my evening run Smile

Well first day back might as well go all out 3ibs to burn off his week to get me back to pre Christmas celebrations weight and then can concentrate on the week after and the week after that etc etc Grin

MFP looks good today with everyone's calorie burns looks like we're all back ladies Smile

Fenouille · 02/01/2012 18:38

Well, my calorie burn is a bit pathetic compared to you lot but I'm limited in what I can do for the moment so I'm concentrating on moderating my calorie intake. As it was my first day back in the office I've done alright I think. And I got off the tram a stop early on the way home. I'll get off two stops early tomorrow as it's not that much further but enough to make it feel worthwhile. The walk was a bit short this evening.

MissPricklePants · 02/01/2012 20:22

hello!I have just registered with mfp and would like to lose a stone by april or may!will be popping on for advice and support if thats ok?oh and while I am here how does it work out how many calories I should be having?it says 1906 which seems quite high!

whyme2 · 03/01/2012 05:45

Good morning all Smile

I have managed to put on three pounds over the last week. Not brilliant but hey ho. I think it is because I have done no exercise whatsoever lazycow emoticon so I am going to attempt to change that this week.

My dcs are still off school for another week which is a bit of a hindrance but I think I will start with some walking again. I will also dig out the cross trainer and stop using it as a coat stand. I also have lots of housework to do but that is a constant in my life anyway.

All the christmas foods are gone now made sure by eating all the chocolates last night so there is no excuse. Breakfast, lunch, tea, no snacking and no evening nibbles either.

Thanks to all those who have added me (heatherdrinkstea) and hello and welcome to all the new starters. Good luck.

whyme2 · 03/01/2012 05:48

MissPricklepants 1906 does sound a lot but that is my limit as i am about 6 stone overweight. Your calorie allowance is worked out by your current weight, your age and how active you are.
Can you check you have entered your stats correctly?

bexsybooboo · 03/01/2012 07:02

Fenouille It's not pathetic even the little and often calorie burns will add up and start helping with fitness, keep going you are doing well. Just logging food and exercise you do do is a bloody good start and step in the right direction. Smile

I only started back properly yesterday and if it wasn't for my run would have been over my calories and fat allowance as we had pizza and a tiny bit of pavlova as a last treat before normality returns today Grin

Well I did it ladies I beat my previous running distance and made 5k (3 miles and 08metres) I completed Wink I couldn't believe it especially as I haven't done a proper run in nearly 2 weeks. And I didn't even look for excuses not to go out Grin

Here's to a new year and new me (well only a bit of a new me just the shape)

Welcome to newbies this is a great thread. Feel free to add me on MFP username Bexsy Smile
