Everyone wish me luck.

It is my week4 run 1 on couch to 5k tonight and I am pooping it.

Have started back on the water also this morning, can you tell it's all back to normality now half term is over lol.

Here's hopefully to a good week for us all

Wordsonapage · 31/10/2011 07:14

Keep at it just

I,ve lost 10 lb so far but had a similar blip where I put on 2 lb seemingly overnight for no reason.

I,ve started walk/ run but on the treadmill ( am in Dubai it's too farking hot to run outside) and you feel AMAZING after.

ohijustdontknowanymore · 31/10/2011 08:25

Hi Wordsonapage

My problem is I get diheartened too quick.

I need to concentrate on the fact I have managed 22ibs so far I can keep going but seems like ages since I last lost.

But hopefully back at it properly now not at home on leave as I don't think this helped.

Dubai lush, my mum coming over to you at end of week for her hols, she loves it.

junglebums · 31/10/2011 11:02

I'm just starting MFP and feeling a bit lonely. Anyone want to be my friend? I'm Junglebums on MFP too. I haven't read this whole thread yet but planning to get stuck in after when DD goes to bed.

I have at least 3st to lose and need something that fits around work and 14 mo. I'm not a very motivated person generally, but I need to do something about all this weight I'be slowly piled on over the years

ladydeedy · 31/10/2011 11:06

you can do it - welcome!!

Wordsonapage · 31/10/2011 11:54

brodyboo · 03/11/2011 11:07

Hi is it too late to join in? Just joined MFP, user name nichey, got about cough cough 6 stone to lose Shock How on earth did that happen! Hope with a bit of support will actually stick to something this time.

QueenStromba · 03/11/2011 12:03

Welcome brodyboo - I've added you.

brodyboo · 03/11/2011 12:26

Thanks QS, is there a diet or meal planner anyone follows or just sensible healthy eating?

RGPargy · 03/11/2011 15:28

Hi and welcome Brodyboo. I have also got a similar amount to lose as you so you are not alone! I will add you on MFP now :o

I'm not following any particular diet but am supposed to be low carbing, although i am failing a little at the moment Blush In recompense for my crap eating I do go to the gym quite a bit which means i have maintained for the past 2 months Blush (blimey, has it been that long since i lost anything?!!) but at least i haven't gained anything (much!)...... Hmm

QueenStromba · 03/11/2011 16:29

I'm low carbing too but not to a crazy extent. I've cut out starchy food almost completely but do eat the odd bit of sushi. For me cutting out the carbs is the the most painless way to dramatically cut the calorie count of a meal. I eat the same meal as my DP but if he's having rice/couscous I'll have grated cauliflower or just extra veg. Swede, cauliflower and celeriac all make nice low carb mash and konnyaku noodles have almost no carbs.

brodyboo · 03/11/2011 17:48

Yeah im with you on the carbs, did a low carb diet earlier this year and had good weight loss, unfortunatly didnt keep it up and put back on and moreSad Am not going to cut them out as that way lies bingeing for me but reduce alot and choose good carbs. Am quite excited! Day 1 tomorrow!

ohijustdontknowanymore · 03/11/2011 19:30

Welcome brodyboo.

I had 5.5 stone to lose and have lost 22ibs in about 3-4 months. I don't do anything specific just ensure I drink water first thing, then have breakfast, then lunch and dinner. I have cut out all snacks and stick to these 3 meals. But Friday or Saturday night depending on what I am doing is my treat night, takeaway and chocolate yum but it means I don't feel like I am missing out.

Also exercise which I have never really done before but am really enjoying doing. I do couch to 5k, Zumba and stuff on my Wii fit.

Go for it and you will get good support from this thread and MFP itself.

Good luck to all who are WI over next couple of days.

Can't believe it's Friday tomorrow I have everything crossed for me tonight lol

brodyboo · 03/11/2011 20:08

Hi ohijust and RPG, def gonna start more exercising again, had a very active job for years before the kids, I think that is part of my problem as I could eat whatever I wanted then and burnt it all off at work.
I still have a reasonable level of fitness despite my size, got the 30 day shred (gulp) and will maybe try couch to 5k.

Feeling motivated already, am a bit of a recluse at the minute due to lack of confidence so im sure support on this thread and MFP will help keep me on track.

RGPargy · 03/11/2011 22:48

I dont believe in drastically cutting out carbs either as it will lead to failure for me. If DP is having carbs, i.e. rice etc then i will have some too but just a very small amount, so that i dont feel like i'm missing out i suppose. However if i'm feeling really really strong willed then i will go without and have extra veg/salad instead.

Where do you get those konnyaku noodles from?? Never heard of them before!

Exercise-wise, this is pretty much my routine at the moment:

Monday : Pump
Tuesday : Rest day
Wednesday : Step & Pump
Thursday : Rest day (work day, no time)
Friday : Rest day (work day, no time)
Saturday : Pump
Sunday : Step, combat or spin, and then sometimes pump lol.

On top of that i do a couple of fitness weekends a year (normally around 10 classes during the weekend) and at the end of the November i am doing a fitness day - 6 classes in 6 hours! Shock

febes · 03/11/2011 23:52

I had 7 stone to lose and have now lost 5.5 so just 1.5 to go!!! I follow the Idiot Proof Diet (low carb) and don't feel at all deprived. I love this WOE and will continue when I'm maintaining and for the rest of my life (with the occasionally cake). The first few months I didn't really exercise and then I did 2 cycles of the 30 shred and then mixed it up with some more Jillian DVDs. 3 months ago I started couch to 5k and have now graduated and run 5k 3x per week. I am wearing size 14 clothes now and proper normal boots and feel great. (I started in size 22) I haven't been this size since high school.
I haven't lost in a while but my body is still changing with all the exercise (need to measure again) and I know I'll lose again and get to goal. Just enjoying the process at the moment.
My latest exercise is netball and I have my first duathlon in sunday Shock
My name on MFP is kiwifebes

ohijustdontknowanymore · 04/11/2011 06:54

Morning peeps.

Well it's Friday WI for me and have to say relieved. Lost 1.3ibs which is great as last week was a nightmare fuctuating weight all week at one point on weekend said I had put on 3ibs.

This means I lost the 1ib I had put on last Friday and 3oz on top. So gives me fresh hope that I can now continue on track and lose again for next week.

Good luck to everyone for WI's and wow we are all doing so well.

ladydeedy · 04/11/2011 10:00

morning everyone! well done on some of the amazing achievements listed here! a lot of weight has been lost and lives changed!
I'm lucky as we have a fitness drive going on at work at the moment where we have pedometers and log our steps each day. I'm trying to fit in half an hour of exercise every day on my way home from work - so running every other day for half an hour or swimming and one body pump class on the weekend at the moment.
Hoping to do some long walks at the weekend with my dog (although have university assignment to hand in on Monday and am panicking!!).

brodyboo · 04/11/2011 10:02

Febes that is great!! How long has that taking you, sounds like I am starting from about the same point.

Well done ohijust, im going to weigh on a Monday so im not tempted to stuff my face all weekend.

Just had the dogs out for a hour and instead of avoiding all the big hills like I normally would I power walked up themGrin
Porridge and banana for brekkie and I have a pot of veggie soup on the hob for lunch.

ladydeedy · 04/11/2011 12:31

Well done you!!!

nicnacinoonoo · 04/11/2011 14:20

weighed in this morning and I have finally shifted another pound. I felt like I'd been stuck at the previous weight for ages so really pleased. I tried really hard this week getting my 5 a day in rather than just cutting calories, so obviously it has worked. Going to have to try to stick to that but weekends are always so hard.

I have done the 30 day shred too and loved it, trying to carry on with it but not every night. Have just started 6 week 6 pack which is really killing me a the moment, I have to take a few breathers but hopefully I will get better at it soon.

well done everyone else, hope you have good weekends.

brodyboo · 04/11/2011 18:20

Hi nicnac, have added you on MFP. Have a question for you, what do you add the shred as on your exercise log? Was going to do it once the kids were in bed but not sure what it would come under. Well done for your loss too.

febes · 04/11/2011 18:56

I started in June last year but spent 3 months travelling around South Africa on our way back to NZ last year so didn't stick to the plan there. I was back on in January so have lost the majority since then.
I log Shred as aerobics. It uses 250ish cals. Or you could log as circuit training? It will be about the same. How many cals are you on a day? I aim for 1200 but normally go over (1300-1400) probably why I'm not losing at the moment. I do about 40mins of exercise everyday though so my body is toning at the moment which I'm happy about. My goal was to be in size 14 and I have meet that but I also had a goal to be at a healthy weight according BMI which means nearly another 2 stone to get to 11st 13 (am currently 14st) but as I started at 19st 4 I'm happy!!
