ah I think you have the right attitude!! it shouldnt be like some kind of penance but we should be doing this for all the right reasons and if we're to keep the weight off and be healthy we need to be able to have some kind of balance. I too have struggled in how to include things I love (wine!!) into my "allowance" but feel as long as I am roughly on track, then that's the main thing...
Enjoy the food today - sounds heavenly!

RGPargy · 23/10/2011 23:12

Just bookmarking ladies! Will be back on form hopefully more from tomorrow.

I've got a DJ gig to play on Saturday night so I need to actually get my arse off the laptop in the evenings and practise my set! It's only an hour long set but it's the first time i've played at this particular event and i'm really conscious about playing well for my first time, especially as it has the potential to lead to more regular (local) gigs! So yeah anyway, the point is that i might not be as much i would like during the next week but i deffo haven't forgotten about you all!! :o

nicnacinoonoo · 25/10/2011 07:37

Hi can I join? I joined myfitnesspal last week and I'm finding it very helpful. I usually stick to my calorie intake but my food choices are not usually the best. I only have a little bit to lose though and I'm trying to concentrate more on toning up. I'm just finishing the 30 day shred at the moment, then I am going to go on to do the 6 week 6 pack next I think. I also have an exercise bike/cross trainer that I use.
I'm under the same username as on here.

ohijustdontknowanymore · 25/10/2011 11:09

Good luck with your set on Sturday RGPargy :-)

Counting down to WI Friday already think it is because I have only lost 1ib each week for last 2 weeks, so hoping for a little more this week.

Have started my couch to 5k back up so will be out for 3 runs this week, plus my Zumba and bits and pieces (Wii Fit and Wii Just Dance).

Was hoping to lose at least another stone by christmas but thinking that a little too ambitious at this time, but we will see.

Wordsonapage · 25/10/2011 12:05

Was at the gym this morning But wedding anniversary surprise lunch at The Burj Al Arab means I may be slightly over my calorie allowance .....doh ( but worth it)

Wordsonapage · 25/10/2011 12:07

Nicnac have added you
Please ignore my food diary for today though...

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 25/10/2011 12:11

I'm cbudbaxter on MFP if anyone wants to add me, I've not done bad,I've lost 7lb so far (since June) However stressful events have led to me being up too much and down too much, I'm hoping to weigh myself tomorrow and see what i need to do. I want to be around 9st ish for my height and what not that gives me a BMI of 22 ish?!

nicnacinoonoo · 26/10/2011 09:25

Thanks for the adds. I'm not one to judge anyone's food diary, mine is often filled with naughty things but I just try to make up for it by doing more exercise.

Struggling with getting myself fired up for my dvd this morning. Just need to get it over and done with then I can have some breakfast, but that means putting my youngest for a nap first which doesn't look likely at the moment.

BrightSideOfLife · 27/10/2011 11:26

Ooooh - can I join pls? I started using MFP about 4 weeks ago and am pretty impressed (By MFP, not myself. I need more will-power!)

I am aiming at around 9sti, which would be ideal for my height. I am currently at 10st 1 (I think - I am hopeless at Imperial measurements, I am used to metric)

I am doing OK, I have lost 7.7lb so far. I am having to take it slowly as am breastfeeding my 12 week old DS (DD is 2.5 years and provides all the exercise I can cope with at the moment!). I am nervous of reducing my milk supply by losing too much weight too quickly (At least - that is my excuse for the treats!)

My username is namibiangirl. I am now off to read the rest of this thread!

ohijustdontknowanymore · 27/10/2011 21:16

Good luck to Friday WI peeps.

Am petrified and not sure why about standing on scales tomorrow, but fingers crossed.

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 27/10/2011 23:56

Right i shall weight myself tomorrow too, and get back to you all, had a shitty couple of days so haven't filled in diary because i ate too much!!! Blush

ohijustdontknowanymore · 28/10/2011 07:30

:-( 1ib gain this week.

I know I have not ate completely the right stuff this week but maintained calories and exercise.

Wondering if it has been when I was poorly and didn't exercise for 2 weeks. Who am I kidding wrong stuff ate this week I think.

But seeing my ibs lost change on my fitness pal going backwards is enough of a kick up the arse for me to go for it this week.

Good luck everyone else keeping fingers crossed for WI peeps. :-)

I've either lost half a pound or two pounds. Somebody moved my scales and now it's weighing me 1.5 pounds heavier than yesterday and three pounds heavier than my other set of scales so I've gone with yesterday's weight on MFP.

ohijustdontknowanymore · 28/10/2011 10:46

Hi Queen Stromba

Thanx for invite on MFP, but have managed to lose you already.

Let me know your user name and can reinvite you.

Well done on weight loss x

ladydeedy · 28/10/2011 13:18

I have stayed the same this week which is pretty remarkable given that I have been on holiday for most of it, eating pasties, pies, curry and drinking pints of cider!!! lots of walking too though and managed to run 5K in under 30 minutes this week so am feeling very chuffed, given that I could not run for 30 seconds when I first started out!!

febes · 28/10/2011 20:10

Awesome Ladydeedy!! I ran my first 5k on Monday in 33mins. I ran 5k wed and fri night too but didn't time myself. Going to aim to run 5k 3x per week for the next few weeks and then I'll time myself to see how I'm doing. It does seem to be getting slighly easier each time.

ohijustdontknowanymore · 28/10/2011 20:50

LadyDeedy and Febes you are inspiring me in my running. Thank you.

Hoping to be at 5k by christmas and running for 30mins without walking intervals.

febes · 28/10/2011 21:00

You can do it!!! C25k is awesome!!

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 28/10/2011 21:19

I have stayed excatly the same also :)

ladydeedy · 29/10/2011 08:42

keep at it ladies! Running is amazing... it's something I always dreamed of doing but never knew where to start and I was always overweight when at school so never got interested in sports as was so selfconscious... Now finally (aged 48!) I am getting there. It's been an interesting journey too. At my heaviest and unhealthiest I was around 14.5 stone and smoked 20 cigarettes a day for 20 years.... I no longer smoke, am 9 stone which suits my short frame, and far far fitter.
Something weird's going on with my weight this week as weighed myself again this morning (i step on the scales most mornings just to check on how things are going) and have lost 2lb! I have stayed the same for some weeks. I moved the scales all round the bathroom floor but the reading stayed the same and went to the gym earlier and the scale there agrees! My diet has been very different this week as have been on hols and also not sitting at a desk all day and out walking a lot. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Good luck to all prospective runners out there!

ohijustdontknowanymore · 29/10/2011 14:42

Oh My Word, please someone tell me how I have managed to put 3 more ibs on in 24 hours. I am devastated!!!!!

Cannot work out what is going on with me this week, hoping by Friday everythng evens out again

ladydeedy · 29/10/2011 21:30

water retention? too many carbs? a problem with your scales? just dont worry, stay on track and reweigh next week - you could get a nice surprise!

ohijustdontknowanymore · 30/10/2011 17:10

Thanks Ladydeedy. Was just a bit OMG WTF! and a little upset lol

I know not the scales as use my Wii fit. Hoping water retention or carbs as have had more carbs this week with being at home for half term.

Well I am working my big butt off with exercise to try and stay focused and feel good.

So here's to next Friday (please let it be okay). Dangerous time for me if I start to get disheartened as that's when I have tended to give up in the past, but am going to give it my all this week.
