I've just done my 3rd day of the second level of 30day shred. I was scared about going up a level but its fine, I think I prefer it to the 1st level.

I lost 4lbs last week and this week have put 3lbs back on. I had a couple of days where I went over my calories but have been well under my calories on other days so am a bit disappointed by this.

Will stick with it though. I've moved my target from 1lb loss a week to 1.5lbs a week which has resulted in 200 calories a day less!

Hopefully that will help.

RGPargy · 15/09/2011 12:46

Hello and welcome Ariadnestar :) I have added you! I am also a low carber (and deffo not a NO carber!) and have lost around 23lbs that way. I am also a frequent gym go-er too. I go 5 times a week and only dont go on the other two days because i have to work on those 2 days, which means i dont get home in time to do any exercise as I'm out of the house pretty much 7 til 7.

Afish Glad the mirena has worked well for you. I am going to see how i go on the injection. So far i think it's working well and i think that being at home for a week getting bored has probably not done my boredom eating tendancies any good lol.

I know it's hard to believe but i actually FORGOT to have breakfast this morning! Shock Didn't realise til i was walking into work from the station that i'd not had my breakfast! I was most put out! :o

inspireme · 15/09/2011 21:50

I find it really hard to feel full at a meal if I don't have carbs which does not bode well for my gluten allergy at all! The majority of all my meals are made up of carbs ie.bread potatoes or pasta, I love salads but find I'm always starving an hour later unless I have a really monster one.

My biggest problem seems to be that I have a fast metabolism, I'm always hungry and can eat as much as DH and he can eat. Used to be one of those people who stuffed their faces and was still skinny but think them days are long gone especially after having a LO.

1200 cals can be a struggle some days!

foreverondiet · 15/09/2011 22:46

There are lots of other carbs that contain no gluten! eg millet, rice, quinoa, potatoes can also get gluten free oats.

Tonight I wanted to have carbs in my dinner as ran home from work so had millet seeds in with my chicken. Very filling.

re: salads, I always add a whole tin of fish - around 200 calories for the fish. I also add yoghurt dressing but you could add olive oil / avocado / nuts instead to fill you up if you wanted to avoid dairy.

re: always hungry maybe this is due to eating higher GI carbs - ie protein keeps you full for longer, I am less hungry now I eat more protein.

The way I felt this week thought it would be a stale week for me, but i have surprised myself.

WI was this morning 2ibs off and actually had a nice run last night I actually enjoyed it.

Hope everyone elses week has gone okay.

Fingers crossed for next week am enjoying the feel of weight coming of nice and steady :-)

febes · 16/09/2011 08:33

I have completed week 4 of C25K and had a great run tonight. I'm going for my first 10k cycle tomorrow so hope its not too hard.

VivaLeBeaver · 16/09/2011 09:01

My weight is all over the place. Last week I lost 4lbs, earlier on this week I had regained three of those four. Today is my official weekly weigh in and I've lost two from earlier in the week so I'm officially 1lb heavier than last week. Glad it's not 3lbs heavier but still pissed off.

afishcalledmummy · 16/09/2011 09:06

I think there must be mystic forces at work, as I've had an up/down week with weight too! Up 2lbs by Wednesday, and I've lost them and another half pound today. Madness! I won't get to 9st7 for my holiday, which was an interim target - and a slightly unrealistic one at that - but I will probably get to 9st9. Not too far off, and enough to encourage me to keep on the straight and narrow whilst we're away. It's an active holiday (kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking etc) so I shouldn't come back too much of a fatso!

febes - as it's your first one, just go out and enjoy it. Don't chase a time or push too hard as your legs will be getting used to the cycling action again. Next time you can push and have an easy target to beat, which you can then build on!

Viva - don't be too pissed off, it'll come off next week. You're still 3lbs down over a two week period, which is really good going - and I believe your target is 1.5lbs a week, so you're bang on!

VivaLeBeaver · 16/09/2011 10:14

No I'm only 1lb down over a two week period!

VivaLeBeaver · 16/09/2011 10:15

Oh no you're right, it is 3lbs. That's cheered me up!

magicalrealistmum · 16/09/2011 12:06

Hi all,
I am finally loosing steadily now that I have upped my exercise, I am have given up my parking space at work and I am cycling there and back everyday (2.5 miles each way). I have also started a charity "channel swim" at the local pool, which will take 12 weeks. I am on week 8 of c25K and I am looking for a 5k run to aim for. I can't believe that I am able to to all of this exercise and I feel great. I think the determination required and all the endorphins are helping me in my search for new job, so I am pleased. Hope you all have a great weekend, I am off to two parties!

sweetcouchpotato · 16/09/2011 13:00

That sounds fab magicalrealistmum. I should come up with some goals to make sure I won't go 'sod it' and slump back on the sofa. I've been doing a challenge every week to introduce changes in my diet and exercise routine, I've started with drinking more water and eating more veg (before I joined MFP), then upping the exercise difficulty levels and cutting the calories. For my next challenge I should start 'Couch to 5k' to get me slowly back to running, I used to love it. I think I'd like to do a 5k race some time in the future, so let that be my goal.

I had a weigh-in after a dreadful weekend on Tue and hadn't lost anything, then had a sneaky WI this morning and had lost 2 lbs, so all this calorie counting must really be working! Smile I'll step away from the scales until next Friday, I'll let you know how I'm getting on then.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

carryon · 16/09/2011 18:02

Hi all. Week one and 1lb lost with 27lbs to go. I am disappointed with myself as really thought I should have lost more but if I am honest I haven't been very good. I hate being overweight and want to lose weight but am struggling to motivate myself.

cowboylover · 16/09/2011 21:15

Hi everyone, added the new ones. I wish I set up MFP as my MN name now only peps from here on it! Don't think I can change it now and dont want to loose my diaries so far.

I think tracking my food intake has helped so much to give me awareness of what I'm doing to myself with the about of food I eat! Not doing any special/specific diet just what I know I should have been doing anyway with 5 a day ect.

My breastfeeding councillor said I should add 400 extra calories a day than what is recommend so I keep my supply up but I'm trying to keep on the original calorie target.

Anyone else done couch to 5k? been thinking about giving it a try as you are all so inspiring on here!

sweetcouchpotato · 17/09/2011 17:02

cowboylover I think you're allowed to change your name once on MFP. I started with a different name but changed it once I discovered this thread. It's under settings > change my username.

I've already downloaded the C25K program on my phone, I'm starting on Monday. Want to start with me? Smile

cowboylover · 17/09/2011 19:19

Great I have just done it! Had to log in on the website.
I will have a look at it later and get back to you x

febes · 17/09/2011 21:41

SCP -I'm on week 5 of c25k and loving it. You will really enjoy the programme and feel so proud as you are able to run further and further. I use the NHSpodcast. The lovely Laura is a very comforting voice.

I'm going to do my triathlon distances today but in 3 different sessions. I'll go for a bike ride soon (10k) and swim when DD has her lessons at lunchtime and then I'll go for run 1 week 5 tonight. I had my first cycle yesterday and it wasn't so bad. I have slightly sore muscles today but fanny isn't too bad Blush. Certainly better than when I cycled a few months ago. I must be more fit!

Onemorning · 17/09/2011 22:04

Hello all, I've just joined myfitnesspal, I'm TomorrowMorning.

I have about 4 stone to lose :(

afishcalledmummy · 18/09/2011 04:08

So I nearly reached my holiday target 9 st 9 today rather than the 9 1/2 I wanted, so am reasonably happy. Weightloss is v slow now so may have to change timeframe for getting right down. It's sensible though as I want to maintain muscle, hence all the exercise, and just lose fat.

I hope everyone has a successful week and I'll check back in next weekend.

Fish x

piellabakewell · 18/09/2011 11:53

Hello all

I've just joined, now what?!

It's nearly noon and I haven't had breakfast yet, doubt that's a good start...have done loads of ironing and taken DD to tag rugby though.

I'm snailrunner on MFP, I need friends, please!

Onemorning · 18/09/2011 17:02

Well done fish, hello piella.

I haven't done anything yet on mfp, haven't eaten much so far today (not for good reasons).

cantfindamnnickname · 18/09/2011 18:09

please add me - racmac

Im back on the diet after increasing to 10st 10lbs - I know Im not heavy but i really want to be 10st - problem is i get to Friday and drink wine in vast quantities and then pig out.

This weekend i have only had 1 bottle of wine today instead of 3 over the weekend

ohijustdontknowanymore · 18/09/2011 19:11

Going all out this week to see if I can get 2ibs off to make it a stone lost up to now, so wish me luck. (Only about 4 stone to go to the weight I would like to be).

Working to 7ib losses as my targets as reckon this is a nice achievable thing to do and reach each time.

Oh and have started a new water thing that was told to me by a friend, not sure if it works but does actually make me feel better and ensures I drink water at some point in the day. I have 650ml when I wake up, then I have nothing for 45mins and then have breakfast and then nothing for 2 hrs, but after this can eat drink normally.

Have been running again and still for some reason struggling so going back to beginning with the NHS Couch to 5k, first run out on Tuesday as went out today for brisk walk and 10minute run.

Everyone seems to be doing well and thanks to those that added me on MFP. My username on MFP is Bexsy if anyone would like to add me.

Good luck to all for this week.

cowboylover · 18/09/2011 23:10

Thanks for all the adds! I'm cowboylover now if I have not added you yet x

1st weight in tomorrow after a full week of MFP so excited and nervous! I hope it's worked a bit. Meeting up again with the trainer Wednesday so I might treat myself to something from the Nike shop for it!

sweetcouchpotato · 19/09/2011 10:38

febes Started C25K this morning, did it as a warm up before going on the crosstrainer, so nice and easy start. I'm sure it will get harder week by week and that's perfect as it means that I'll be slowly upping my exercise.

cantfindamnnickname Well done on cutting down. I've got the same problem, I do like my wine... But I didn't buy any Shock for the weekend and had some surprisingly nice tasting low-alcohol cider instead (and some sneaky G&Ts yesterday, whoops). I didn't really miss the wine and managed to stay under my calorie limit, so I'm a happy spud.

I've added Bexsy and all the fellow newbies. Smile

All we all weighing in on Friday?
