I just wanted to pop in a quick hello! Not even read the thread for a couple of months, except the last bit I've just read.

Well done littlefish you've done brilliantly. Still rubbish at name checking...

I got to goal in July but only for that one weigh in, but I maintained just above goal for a while. Then I went back last week after missing meetings for a month and had lost 5lb! I want to try and maintain that to give me a christmas buffer. I'm not tracking but still having sensible breakfast and lunch with mostly WW recipe dinners.

Sounds like you've got off to a really good start crossword your walking will make all the difference.

CleverCircusFlea · 19/11/2011 07:40

Hello everybody...
I've been doing weight watchers since 6th of October and lost 3.5 kg do far, and I am quite

CleverCircusFlea · 19/11/2011 07:43

Ooops, posted too soon

Quite pleased with how it's going. But this morning my ww iPhone app went a bit crazy and is saying my daily points allowance is 26 and that I only have 24 weekly points left, even though I only used 9 out of my 49... Anybody has an idea what's going on?

changeforthebetter · 19/11/2011 07:46

Hi everyone and well done on all the losses. Hello Flea that's a fantastic start Smile

After 4 loooong weeks with no scales shift, I finally lost 2lbs after a really foodie/boozy weekend Hmm. I did point but went over. I am on a teacher training placement which is stressful and makes me cry sometimes and so of course I am reaching for the food as comfort Sad. Still one of last year's trainees told me everyone on her course put on a stone so I suppose I am doing OK really.

I wasn rather Hmm to wake up to discover my daily points have gone down to 26! Shock I was losing on 29 per day so I'll see how it goes. I do feel a bit deprived but I think that's pyschological. Not sure if they've adjusted any of the points of the food.

Does anyone else do Health & Filling Days? Wondering about trying that when I am extra busy.

CrosswordAddict · 19/11/2011 08:40

Yes my points for the week have gone down to 26 this am.
TBH I have not used 29 on any day because I knew I would not lose weight if I did or have only half a pound off or stay the same. That is too disheartening so I stick to 21/22/23 points a day and don't use the 49 weekly ones and don't trade in any of the activity points either.
Dare I say I think Weight Watchers want to keep you going back for as long as poss to make more money out of you?

crumbletastic · 19/11/2011 19:36

Ooh, exciting changes afoot. The healthy and filling plan is similar to the no count on the old plan? I lost shed loads of weight a bit too quickly on that although I would only do it for about 3 weeks at a time as psychologically I would end up feeling a bit deprived even though I was actually eating more food than I normally would.

I'm back on track with a vengeance now, I got to goal a month ago, celebrated a bit too much and have put on 4lb in weeks!! Luckily I am still 5lb within my goal weight but it has been a bit of a shake to the system to realise that getting to goal is not a license to eat, that is how I became fat in the first place

crumbletastic · 19/11/2011 19:37

*4lb in 4 weeks that is

androbbob · 19/11/2011 21:16

Ok - these changes are optional so if you are happy and losing on 29 PP then feel free to change back up from 26 to 29! Also there is the option of dropping 1 PP every stone you lose if you started on 29. Apparently it is because we all calculate our points wrong and underestimate what we have and dont write it all down - so it is entirely our fault Grin. I suppose if you radically change a diet like WW did going from points to PP and qith the rounding problems where 1=1 and 2=3 sometimes, then losing 1 or 2 or 3PP a day will help some people.

Been ok myself the last few days and we were going to McDonalds for lunch, but DS was naughty so we stayed at home! The test will be Tues when i face the WI.

Hello everyone, it's very quiet on here again.
Just popping on to report a 1lb loss here this week. Only 6 to go for my personal goal, would like it to happen be Xmas. I know I'm being a bit optimistic, but hey ho in for a penny in for a pound Smile

androbbob · 23/11/2011 22:26

1.5lb loss for me - good start!

OP posts:
Littlefish · 24/11/2011 20:39

Half a pound on for me [cross with self]

I've eaten out three times this week though, and I've got my period, so I suppose it's not too bad.

I won't be changing over to the "fiilling and healthy" days. I still don't trust myself to recognise when I'm full, and prefer to have the strict constraint of my daily points to tell me when to stop.

mrskbpw · 25/11/2011 10:51

I weighed in yesterday and despite being very good all week, I only lost half a pound - only lost a pound and a half the first week. Am very disappointed. My points have stayed the same, but I'm taking them down to 26 just to see if it makes a difference.

I really wanted to lose a stone by Christmas - I joined with 7 weeks to go which on the old plan would have been a breeze. Now I'll be lucky to lose half a stone by then. It's hard not to be disheartened, but I will plod on.

I might try some filling and healthy days later on, if I ever lose any weight.

becstarsky · 25/11/2011 11:08

Hello all - can I join you?

I just started on PP last week and have lost 2 lbs. I've got 17 lbs to lose to get to goal and I want to do it very slowly and healthily because I've crash dieted so many times before and then put all the weight back on with a bit extra.... So I'm resolved to take it slowly this time.

I haven't got any activity points so far as I was feeling rubbish with a bad cold and asthma, but this week I'm going to try to get those smiley faces on all of my 'healthy check' things and get some activity too. WI day for me is Wednesday.

I don't know if I'll have the willpower for 'healthy and filling' - I was never any good with 'no count' either. Once I start overeating it's like a switch is flicked inside my head and I turn into a bottomless pit - and even if I start on carrot sticks and apples, it's going to end up with cake. Something about counting and limiting, knowing that I can have a bit of cake if I just count it in, helps me to keep things on track. Saying 'no cake at all but you can eat and eat and eat' turns me into a dustbin. Guess that's a bit of an unhealthy psychology at work there!

changeforthebetter · 30/11/2011 07:55

My scales are crap Grin. Stayed the same/pound off/pound on - all within the space of five minutes! I am going for the middle of the range. I haven't used up my daily points as I have had a horrible week and sometimes just haven't felt like eating due to stress and I refuse to eat for the sake of it, when I am normally a good eater. I did have a couple of blow-outs 67 pps on Friday Blush and 37 on Monday but that did not take me over my weekly allowance. I am definitely sticking with 29 per day for now as I think in the long term, I am more likely to stick to the plan. I might cut the daily allowance when this (horrible, stressful) placement is over.

Well done to all the losers! Smile

HighHeidYin · 30/11/2011 11:14

Morning! Am popping in to wave goodbye Sad

I love this thread and you lovely people on it, but WW just isn't for me. This is the third time I've tried it, and though I think the diet is great, I just can't do it.

Me and modest portion sizes don't compute. The only diets I can stick to are ones where I don't need to weigh or measure anything. Can deal with a list of foods I'm not allowed (I don't tend to cheat) but if I'm told I can have something, but in limited quantities, I can't control myself. So I'm back to low carbing, which has worked very well for me over the last year, and that should take me down to goal (only 8lbs to go).

Keep up the good work ladies - I know you are seeing results and you will get to where you want to be xx

herdingcats · 30/11/2011 16:30

HHY- sorry to hear you are stopping, especially when you are so close to you're desired goal.
I am giving WI a miss this week, as I'm feeling very poorly and cannot face going out again tonight.
Good luck everyone, will see if anything has changed for me next week, not worrying about it whilst I get better

Littlefish · 30/11/2011 21:36

Sorry to see you go, but I completely understand. Pop back in from time to time to update us on your progress.

debs39 · 01/12/2011 14:20

Last half a stone is a nightmare to come off HHY...do you really need it to come off though?? Could you not just do 5 days on and 2 off and see where you go in the next 3 mths..I lost loads doing it really strictly then took foot off gas and last little bit fell away but took a good few months but was without feeling I was depriving myself and I got used to learning how to eat the right way for life...10years on and still same weight ..erm..I actually tell a lie...I weigh half a stone less than goal weight was but attribute this to taking up running as well ( well I did but 35 weeks preg now so not been on scales since Royal Wedding day this year!! )

HighHeidYin · 01/12/2011 14:58

Aww thanks

debs That's really good advice. I'm actually happy at the weight I am now, although I'm still at the very highest end of my bmi (don't trust bmi levels completely though) and could do with losing a bit more round my stomach - classic apple shape. I feel really comfortable with myself, and am even in size 10 jeans! So I have started wondering if I should just stop dieting now and concentrate on maintaining. It's not all about losing - the main thing is not regaining it and that part does worry me, especially since I have such a problem with eating in moderation.

But got on the scales this morning and have lost another 2lbs - so am 9st 12!!!! So happy. I do wonder if I am always going to have to watch my carbs as pasta, rice and bread just don't agree with me. I bloat terribly with them.

So confused.

Littlefish · 01/12/2011 21:29

HHY - I dream of being 9 stone anything! I think the last time I was 9 stone something, I was 16 years old. Grin

Anyway - I'm delighted, because I've lost 2 lbs this week. That means that I've got 2.5 lbs to go to get to my 5 stone loss (70lbs). I'm really hoping I can lose it in the next 3 weeks (ie. before Christmas).
