P.s Lake Bitesize flapjacks... yum. We have a box of those, and some rocky road bites as well. They've been in the kitchen for over a week and I still haven't touched any . I am getting quite good at throwing stuff away if no-one eats it, instead of being the house dustbin Grin

duckymum · 08/07/2011 13:07

Just checking in over lunch (caesar salad but only half the dressing)

Don't be too envious, you really don't want this cold!
I think generally the past 2-3 weeks I haven't tried as hard as I might, just fortunate I didn't sabotage my small efforts this week as I haven't felt likee eating.

We are supposed to be going out tomorrow - really don't feel like it, but have paid for tickets and bought new shoes, so will be going.

grinningbee · 08/07/2011 15:02

Hmm I have had to imagine that grapes are chocolate. Been on the phone to Aol for 40 minutes trying to sort out my internet connection. Arrrggghhh!!

Still, all done now.

Dd got bored and ripped up a book and dvd cover out of anger, so that's been fun! Just off to prepare tonights dinner. I found a cauli cheese recipe using natural yogurt. I will be using fromage frais instead as it's all I have. If it's any good I'll share it.

kid · 08/07/2011 20:11

I'm still here but I'm in a very bad mood!
Today I've eaten okay but have just had 4 kitkat fingers and I don't care!
Dinner was the tiniest amour of pasta and 2 spoonfuls of tuna because I'm too annoyed to cook anything so I pinched a bit of dh's dinner as I dished it up.

I'll be fine by the morning, need to do something tonight to get me out of my silly strop!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/07/2011 08:44

Whats up kid

Spent yesterday baking - pavlova, lemon cheesecake, choc and rum cheesecake for tonights party! I hope I can resist tasting it tonight Hmm

food:
B: weetabix
L: omelette and salad
D: ham salad and cheesecake I will ignore all the rest of the yummy buffet and just have ham and salad. Dull Dull Dull.

On the plus, I have a lovely LK Bennett dress to wear tonight!

kid · 09/07/2011 09:54

Some bullies who contributed to ds breaking his hand were plotting to hurt it further yesterday.
I had a right go at them and was waiting for the mum to come round she hasn't so far.
The boys are 3 years older and should know better.
Ds was also being a horrid child and after a difficult week at work, I'd literally had enough.

It's all water under the bridge today though and i'm hoping I embarrassed the bully enough yesterday in front of everyone to keep him away from ds!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/07/2011 14:33

Oh that's horrid. Hope you gave them a right telling off. Having a bad day here, had weetabix and breadBlush

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/07/2011 15:28

Oh and I bought size 14 shorts today - massive accomplishment! They are a bit snug but 16 too big! Yay Grin

LakeFlyPie · 09/07/2011 20:38

Hope you're having a better day kid

cheese I see your toast and raise you 2 chocolate biscuits Blush
Congratulations on the shorts, I have some size 14 jeans which were huge on me pre DS1 which I'm aiming to squeeze into soon.
Will be firmly back on track tomorrow and suppose DOD will tell if biscuits were within flexible syns.

Not managed another shred since thursday, still groaning as I sit down due to stiff legs.

Going to have JP, tuna and salad for dinner now and lots of fruit to offset biscuit scoffing.

grinningbee · 09/07/2011 21:21

Kid that's awful. Hope things are better today.
Cheese yay on the size 14 shorts! I can't wait to get down to that size. Going jeans shopping tomorrow (nothing expensive as no point) for the next size down. Not as good as yours, but I am down from a 24, my 22's are baggy around the waist, so will see if a 20 fits.

I had my hair cut today. Looks really nice but is a leetle bit (read as a lot!) too short.

Food for the day has been:

Weetabix and a banana
Um, lunch got missed
Home made pork meatballs with lots of broccoli and two hobbit slices of bread

OP posts:
kid · 09/07/2011 22:40

Thanks, today has been better, not diet wise though.
We went holiday clothes shopping today and I got some new tops and a dress. One of the tops is a size 12 but its meant to be loose and floaty so size isn't necessarily a 12. My new dress and 2 other tops are a 14 but I haven't tried any on yet.

While we were out, I had a delicious bacon and mushroom baguette. I didn't have any dinner though so that might be okay? I don't really care at the moment plus I have my first cardio combat class tomorrow. I've heard the class is fun but very hard. I hope my gym buddy is coming as I don't want to go by myself.

Tonight has been nice too as both kids are staying at their grandparents tonight so I haven't had to worry about DS and his bloody arm (and his behaviour!) He goes back to see the consultant on the 18th, I assume the cast will come off but will wait and see what happens as I was convinced they would remove it last week and splint it but I was wrong.

I need to get my heart back into SW as there is only about 5 weeks until I go on holiday, eek!

AlpinePony · 10/07/2011 08:24

morning everyone [waves].

I'm sorry, I don't have too much to say because I'm typing through the fury, my fucking dick of a boyfriend is currently having a lie-in - where the fuck is mine eh? Also, has been "in charge" of food for the last three nights, I can't even remember what we had the first night but I know I wasn't overly impressed. The second night it was burger king and yesterday, he actually went out and bought a deep-fat fryer and served up something I wasn't sure was meat or veg so repulsive was it! Angry Needless to say I'd rather make soup from the drain of the jacuzzi. Angry The deal has always been "I'll give up eating shit food when you stop smoking" - obviously now that I'm a big fat preggo I am not smoking - so why are you still eating PIES YOU FUCKNUT? AngryAngry

Oh dear, I need to stroke a cat don't I? Wink

cheese&biscuits I'm afraid I'm not really one for following a recipe to the exact letter, I'm a chuck it all in a pan and let it do what it gotta do - but this is the gist of it:

2 large onions finely chopped
2 tins chopped tomatoes
split lentils (red or yellow work best) - as many as seems right - 2 cups full? (I just aim to fill the pan)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garam masala
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander seeds
1 teaspoon ground tumeric
1 inch grated ginger
2 chopped red chillies
Touch of black pepper
5 cloves crushed garlic

Let it simmer for 90 minutes then add half a pound of butter (+) or ghee, personally I prefer the creaminess of butter.

Fresh coriander to garnish if yer posh! Wink

muser Massive congratulations on the pre-baby weight! :)

I haven't been on the scales for a couple of days because I don't feel I've been eating well - but I rode the horse for 2 hours on Friday and had quite a few muscle aches* yesterday so I think that must've been a good work-out, also my belt did up without "hurting" yesterday. Anyone else get that? I can't bear any pressure on my abdomen when diffed.

*And tender undercarriage - never get that at "tums & bums"!

SlinkyB · 10/07/2011 10:08

Morning all!

Oh, Alpine, I'm so sorry to hear about your unsupportive bf - sounds like he's making your efforts a lot harder!! My bf's pretty good (which is also annoying as he has willpower of steel when it comes to food - yin and yang/opposites attract I guess?!) but we both fall down when it comes to booze. I would absolutely kick off if he waltzed in here with a Burger King for dinner, esp when you're pregnant and meant to be eating healthily. Hope your day improves (maybe go back to bed when he gets up?).

Sorry not been on here much, but have been using a BB Playbook which has an annoying touch-screen keypad, which is awful to 'type' on, thus, I haven't. Finally got round to sticking the good ol' laptop on this am.

Fell off the wagon somewhat on Tues/Weds so counted that as my 'weekend' and was trying to be saintly all actual weekend 'til we went to friend's for dinner last night and party food/buffet was provided...and shoved in my cakehole (along with cheesecake, BUT I only had a tiny slice which is a vast improvement so am still pleased with myself). Oh, and didn't make it to Zumba on Thursday night in the end as was too tired hungover, which means I've done zero exercise Blush

Dreading my DoD tomorrow morning, but hoping I've stayed the same or lost, as if I've put on, I can see me crying into the nearest pot of Haagen Dazs I can get my chubby little mitts on :(

LakeFlyPie · 10/07/2011 11:23

Alpine dahl sounds delicious, may need to modify the butter content (1/2 lb Shock) which I suspect will make it slightly less delicious, but all in a good cause etc

I was also up at crack of dawn as it's DP turn for a lie in.
Do feel I'm being very generous in taking turns when I'm up every 2-3 hours through the night with squawking DS2.
Could go back to bed when he surfaces, but my super strong coffee has kicked in so plan to Shred instead.

Not quite planned food for the day yet.
Considering I spent £90 in Sainsbury yesterday don't actually seem to have any meal ideas jumping out at me, how did that happen?

BF: All Bran + strawberrries
L: Eggs, bacon + grilled tomatoes (maybe with some potatoes if I feel carb deprived)
D: Possibly roasted veg + cous cous combo (again) or pasta + roasted veg creation

Think I need to get my head around Extra Easy.
It was just being introduced when I last went to SW group and I discounted it as it limited my HEA's too much but I now drink my tea black (usually have 5+ cups of Rooibos a day) so may not be so much of an issue.

I got SW mag and agree with comment somewhere earlier in thread about them really pushing EE, hardly a mention of green or original anymore.
I recall SW Consultant saying that EE had been developed for SW breaking into the US market and the original / green plans were considered too complicated Hmm

Has anyone successfully converted from old school red / green to EE? I need some success stories to reduce my resistance to change

Right, have donned sports bra under pyjamas and am off to Shred, oh the glamour Grin

LakeFlyPie · 10/07/2011 11:24

how was your party cheese, hope you felt great in your frock

Cheeseandbiscuits · 10/07/2011 11:55

Hungover Envy

kid · 10/07/2011 12:06

On my way to shopping without a shopping list and haven't planned meals for next week either. Oh well, I'll try and buy sensibly!

I've been to the gym this morning and did a 45 minute cardio combat class. It was really hard but I'd fully recovered by the time I got home (10 mins after class finished) I think that's a good indication of improvement of my fitness level?

At sainsburys now so I guess I should put the phone away and pay attention to what dh is putting in the trolley!

LakeFlyPie · 10/07/2011 12:09

Good party then?!

Eggs are the best hangover cure IME.
It's some compound in the yolk which I forget now, discovered this miraculous info in millennial edition of New Scientist mag and have faced the morning after with greater strength ever since.

Superfree too Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 10/07/2011 14:04

eggs...tick
diet coke...tick
tea...tick
Still feel rough and dealing with poonami at 7am was a bit grim. Roast dinner later, that should do it. Other than that, hair of the dog it is.

Agree about the hangover cure lakeflypie, eggs normally do work a treat.
kid well done on cardio combat, you must be getting fitter! Laughing at the image of shredding in your PJs

Party was fab, thanks! Dress was lovely, and I got lots of compliments. Grin

alpine sorry your BF is being a shit. Maybe refuse to cook for him unless he provides healthy and delicious food for yourself. Thanks for the dahl recipe, I will be trying it in the next couple of weeks. Hows the MS? Still heaving?

slinkyb I have also had a bad weekend. Hey-ho, can't be good every week, life would get very boring

kid · 10/07/2011 20:33

I'll apologise for the thick question, but what's the difference between split lentils and lentils?
I bought red lentils today because I thought I could something with them so am wondering if I can use them on the recipe posted on this thread.

I've been stuffing my face today, knew I shouldn't have bought so many goodies Grin

Hedgepig · 10/07/2011 22:57

Kid I think they are lentils that have been dehusked, so they don't need soaking and cook quicker than the brown ones, they also go mushy so are good for thickening soups etc They are the right thing for ponys dahl

I have had a lovely weekend, let's call it a flexible syns weekend Grin tomorrow is another day

Hedgepig · 10/07/2011 23:00

Bugger forgot the most important thing, red and split lentils are the same thing if you look at then they are semi circles which is half the seed

johnworf · 10/07/2011 23:20

I've been out this evening to Pizza Hut (gulp) with the family. Pleased to report I didn't succumb to a delish pizza but had - what I thought was the only okish thing on the menu - chicken pasta bake. Can't for the life of me find how many syns it is on the SW website. Any ideas ladies?

kid · 11/07/2011 00:02

Thanks hedge, the lentils I bought don't need to be soaked so I will be able to use them. Just need to check I've got the rest of the ingredients and I'll make it.

I plan to make the mushy pea and bean curry tomorrow. Dh will not eat it but he's not here tomorrow night for dinner so won't have to!

Back on plan for me tomorrow. Going to be doing guess work during the day but will write out weeks plan in the evening. I wonder if I'm really, really good, could I lose another stone in the next 5 weeks?
