Urgh rough night here with DD. Sometimes she sleeps through, last night we were up twice.
Not overly impressed with my weighin but what can I expect when I don't stick to the diet.
Taking MIL to zumba in a bitGrin!

Food:
Weetabix and peach
Jp, beans salad
Chicken tray bake

Send me a PM and I will publish the list later. Good luck one and all. Will reply individually later when I'm off my iPhone!

grinningbee · 17/08/2011 09:04

Seems a few of us had a bad night last night. Boo.

Currently working up to doing the weekly food shop with the dc. In theory I could be out the door by 9.30, but I doubt we will be.

I need to get a new saucepan today. I had an accident with a pan of baked beans yesterday. Thought I'd put the ring on under the potatoes, so went away for half an hour. Smelt a funny burning smell... yep, it was the baked bean pan instead. There is now a thick layer of black carbonised bean that will still be there at the end of time! The house stank Grin

I blame the lack of sleep.

Morning, sorry you had bad nights ladies, mine wasn't too bad which is unusual with my DS's! I'm very excited today as a band I've been waiting 30 years to see have announced tour dates and one venue is 5 miles away, yay!

Ria I used to go to group but gave up a long time before I switched to WW as the consultant wasn't very good. The groups just consisted of reading out people's losses and gains and giving out awards, no interest in giving advice at all. I haven't done it online as I've got the books and like being on a thread on here. I do have DP doing it with me which adds a competitive element Grin

Today is a red day:

Toast and banana
'Pizza' made with HE bread, HE cheese, onion and a smear of ketchup from syns, toasted
Gammon, omelette, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes

Riasdragonflytattoo · 17/08/2011 10:20

kungfu - that is almost my cunning lunch plan, but using HEB wholemeal pitta, HEA cheese, and some canned tomatoes that have had the living daylights boiled out of them, with whatever toppings I fancy. Haven't tried it yet. I suspect it will be better than smash pizza, but not as good as the real thing.

sorry for all the bad nights.

Dod rubbish again (literally, a gain), but as cheese said, what can I expect if I don't follow the plan. Although it seems a bit silly that I've gained 5lb since I decided to diet, rather than being at an almost stable weight beforeHmm

Am off to pack some sandwiches and take the boys for a walk - DH is in a lot of pain today, I think he will be best left alone. Am also delivering my cot to a freecycle personSad

Hedgepig · 17/08/2011 11:24

morning, Pizza lunch sounds great WKFT & Ria, I have salad again ho hum. it's getting cold enough to start making soup and bringing it in for lunch. Typical as we are off on holiday to Norfolk for 2 weeks on Monday, I best pack some woolies.

Ria I go to group but just walk in and get weighted and walk out! but I worked out it was cheaper to go to group and get one of those 6 week things (ie pay 5 weeks for 6) than to join online. My consultant is a bit of a waste of space tbh but I need to have the weekly weigh in hanging over my head to focus me. It also give me access to the website for Syns and recipes.

timidviper you jaw problem sounds horrid, I hope the pain killers work soon

Sorry to hear we have mostly been having bad nights, I tried DS2 with his new GroClock last night but it wasn't the miracle I had hoped for.

I am really hungry today, I think because I have been having a relaxed week and picking at the odd biscuit etc which has got me uses to sugar intakes again and my body is protesting as I am trying to be good.

enjoy the shop Bee and the inlaws Cheese

food:
B Apple and strawbs and yog
S 2 fruit ryvita (HEB)
L Salad, cooked turkey
D left over chicken in some sort of pasta thing???

grinningbee · 17/08/2011 12:51

Sad re the cot Ria. I dread that.

Now then. I think I have discovered the holy grail of weightloss.

Lentils.

I have had the single most embarrassing thing ever happen to me today. I would share, but you will all be reduced to jelly from laughing at me.

So, unless I am convinced otherwise I shall just say that when I made the lentil pie last night, I thought it would be a good idea to chuck in a couple of handfulls of red lentils in addition to the green ones.

I won't be doing that again.

Worst of it is, we have the other half for tea tonight.

I make a sort of pizza thing too sometimes for dd. Slice of wholemeal bread spread with tomato puree, slices of cheese and sprinkle with italian herbs. You could add anything. They're very nice.

grinningbee · 17/08/2011 12:53

Forgot to ask - how much are classes now Hedge? I got online membership for £45 to include the magazines, and it works out to £3.46 a week.

Right, best feed the troops.

OP posts:
whatkungfuthat · 17/08/2011 13:13

Oh go on bee tell us, I am the world's most calamitous person so I promise I won't laugh much

I tried to find that 'nice' cottage cheese in sainsburys with no luck

whatkungfuthat · 17/08/2011 13:15

Oh DS2 has been given a packet of white chocolate mice, all their tiny eyes are staring at me

SlinkyB · 17/08/2011 14:21

Oh, I don't think I'd be able to resist a mouse wkft...have you?! People keep saying that when ds is older I won't nick his treats because they will be his... Hmm

How is dp now ria ? Hope he's getting some r&r.

Ds has been very kind to me today; we both had a two-hour nap this morning, and I've just had a 45 min soak in the bath during his lunchtime nap (and he's still asleep - gotta love growth spurts!) so feeling more human.

Neck's feeling much better today, so will return to shred (and Zumba) tomorrow.

I contemplated going to SW class a couple of months ago, but my local group just seemed dull, and the consultant really un-inspiring so figured I'd be better off spending the £5 per week on a Zumba class! Don't think I'd have stuck to the diet so well without this thread though Grin

grinningbee · 17/08/2011 14:22

Ooooh, I love white chocolate mice. Yum yum yum.

I forgot to mention earlier - at the checkout in Sainsbo's, ds kept chucking a packet of ham on the floor (good game that). Cue little old lady saying to me "maybe he's trying to get you to lose weight".

I think I may have looked a little shocked as my mouth hung open. Just what do you say to that? I said nothing.

OP posts:
whatkungfuthat · 17/08/2011 14:47

Ria So sorry, I forgot to ask about you DH today

Bee that was probably my mum, she is good at saying the most shockingly vile things while looking all little-old-lady-like and innocent Grin

Slinky those people are liars saints. I have resisted so far. When I'd been doing SW a while before I became obsessed with cheese rather than my usual chocolate. It was really odd.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/08/2011 16:03

Oi you lot, I've only had 4 messages with your stats. Where is everyone else's?

whatkungfuthat · 17/08/2011 16:15

I'll start next week with my first full week - by then I will have looked at the weight not just BMI on the Wii Grin

Mousey84 · 17/08/2011 16:28

Hey everyone - I really dont get on here as often as I should, but I lose hours everytime I switch laptop on, and life been so busy I havent dared risk it this last fortnight!

Rather miffed by weight loss. Ive had two chinese (half servings as I share with dd) a pizza express salad with some dressing and breadsticks and LOTS of bread, cake, icing and chocolate (thanks to a baking comp) and done virtually no exercise yet Ive still lost 6 lbs in last fortnight (tho WI wont show that due to * week adding a huge 5-7lbs to my weight each month).

Im at risk of falling off wagon but need to keep myself in check - Im at least a stone away from where I want to be. I keep wondering what loss would have been had I not eaten all the crap...!

Roll on August 31st when kids go back to school and I get out on my 4 or 10 mile walks again (depending on weather and if Ill be pushing a single or double buggy!)

Hope everyone else has done well too!

LakeFlyPie · 17/08/2011 17:20

Afternoon all Smile

Just a quick one whilst DS2 has milk.

Not a bad week all considered, a loss is a loss etc.

I'll join the bleary eyed sleep deprived folk on the up 3 x a night bench, sympathy to and coffee for you all.

Have tried to spend some time meal planning for this week so hoping to see a good pre holiday miracle result.

Hope your DH is ok Ria

Please tell us of your lentil weight loss revelation bee, I'm imagining all sorts of Shred or Sainsbury bowel related lentil incidents Shock which I'm hoping is far worse than the reality.

What a hideously rude woman at Sainsbury, I'm Angry on your behalf.

Food:
BF: Nectarine, blueberries + FF yog
L: Ham sandwich + salad
D: Chickpea + chorizo + pepper+ tomato concoction possibly with couscous if it looks like it needs an accompaniment when cooked.
Snacks: melon, yog, grapes, muesli bar

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/08/2011 18:04

BonzoDooDah · 17/08/2011 18:34

Ria glad your DH seems ok after th op. Any idea where it goes next though if it wasn't what they thought?

We had pizza last night for tea. We used the new Warburtons Squarish Wraps as a base (8 syns for ~ 10 inch by 6 inch flatbread thingie!) then added loads of stuff and it bakes in 12 mins! Really nice.

Off to my SW class in a mo so will update later.

SlinkyB · 17/08/2011 20:01

Well done all! You know the mottos: "a loss is a loss is a loss!" and "down is down is down!" etc etc

timidviper · 17/08/2011 21:33

Sadly mine is not a loss this week, I put on half a pound. Having said that I have probably earned it :) My DB and family came to visit so we had an indian takeaway, the next day I made a macaroni cheese (not SW) to feed the hordes that were all here and from there on have had my jaw problem which has really limited the amount of healthy stuff I can eat, like I've said before you can't suck salad!

Actually now I've written that down and remembered the slice of cheesecake and the Mint Aero I'm quite chuffed!!! Maybe my motto should be "there's an upside to every up"!!!

LittlePushka · 17/08/2011 21:42

Missed my first DOD. Bugger! Will PM you Cheese a day or two earlier so I dont miss the fun!

Hey team, I have been swindled out of my syns today on account of being a bit thick,...get this (like, you don't already know!),..

28g Special K (28g of any cereal is daylight robbery IMO)
and a slice of hovis best of both bread (ok it was a crust...)

10.5 syns WWHHHAAATTTTT????? I'd ran out of Crunchy Bran so thought Special K would be a fair substitute....

I was looking forward to something from the treat tin and now I feel like I have been done.

Oh well, will concentrate a bit harder!!!

B: Special K (ought to be bloomin extraordinary K for that syn value, humph)
L:Toast & M& S three bean salad and quorn hot dog
D: SW chips poached egg & baked beans

Oh grinning bee, DO tell us what happened. Does it involve uncontollable trumpage? (Pushka guffaws like a seven year old boyGrin)

BonzoDooDah · 17/08/2011 22:03

Evenin All! DoD results:

1.5 lb off = total of 1 st 9 lb and Slimmer of the Week ! (okay it was a VERY slow week due to everyone being on holiday and almost everyone gaining)
In our place it's not a basket of manky fruit ... this is what I won:
Low fat Supernoodles x2- Chicken and Herb, and Mild Curry
Batchelors Savory rice x2 - mild curry and mediteranean veg
Ainsley's mushroom couscous
Sweet and Sour Mug Shot
Meat Free Mince
Cup-a-pasta
Packet of Hi-fi mint crunch bars
tin chick peas
tin cannellini beans
Banana
apple
avacado (hubby will have this as they are FOURTEEN syns!!)

How good was that!?!

LPushka - I feel your pain on the dirty-K ... what a waste! I nearly had the avacado in our fridge with my salad

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/08/2011 22:13

Too tired to post but well done everyone ESP mousey and bonzo.
bee did you shart?
Off to bed. Please baby sleep more tonight.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 17/08/2011 22:41

well done on your lossesSmile

why would a SW put an avocado in the basket? (I wouldn't have known they were 14 syns admittedly) I suspect someone is trying to scupper the SoW!Wink Well done.

pants to syns generally!

Don't know what will happen next with DH. We have been here SO many timesSad, just want a solution now. He is not so chipper today, but is hoping to be up and about doing stuff tomorrow. I think he should still take it easy.

Also exhausted. Didn't make it to the woods for our walk. The drive to town was a nightmare, then finding where I needed to be was also a nightmare, and involved DS1 (!) directing me in several-point-turn to get out of a nasty narrow tiny dead-end street... then got lost en-route to my next stop, and having a dyslexic read out the texts of a woman who can't work her blackberry was interesting, but we got there, and DS3 has some lovely designer pirate welliesSmile. We went for a picnic to a free (wow!) childrens farm and playground, and never got any further, also TOTM crept up on me ill-preparedBlush. Then back to Sainsbo's (t-shirt in sale for £1.05! and a dress-top type thingy for £3. Hope they fit) for a quick food top-up and bonus bottle of Dsis's favourite too expensive for me wine half price, so that's sorted for the family BBQ.

Hope we all get lots of sleep tonight.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 17/08/2011 22:44

am actually gutted didn't get to shred. But DS1 had got installed in front of the TV, and DS2 and DS3 won't still sleep (still creating havoc upstairs, but I am ignoring tonight). Have done a spot of painting though, and spilled bright yellow emulsion on my best exercise trousersSad
