Hi all!

Hope the title is ok - if not, someone else can do another one Grin

SlinkyB · 15/08/2011 17:08

Yes, that's the ones Wkft - thanks! I'm quite glad they're only 4.5 syns, they're very rich so def hit the choc spot, and will go lovely with a small glass of red wine AND I'll still be within my syn limit :)

Oh ria don't give up now, you're just having a wobble as you've got so much going on right now. Just take a little time out if you need it but you're doing so well so try to keep it up!

SlinkyB · 15/08/2011 17:10

p.s bee know what you mean about sorting little clothes - I did ds's yesterday and it is a little sad!

grinningbee · 16/08/2011 02:11

It is 2.10am and ds has been awake just over 2 hours. Lucky me got an hours kip. He seems wide awake at the mo and is gurgling away to himself in his bouncy chair.

After not much sleep last night I am going to be a wreck later. Bugger.

I am currently resisting the hobnobs in the kitchen cupboard, but much more of this and I will cave!

OP posts:
grinningbee · 16/08/2011 07:43

And here I am again. Got ds to sleep at 3.30 but then couldn't drop off myself Angry. Did finally, but then dh woke me at 7.15 as he was off to work, but dd was yelling "I want my mummy" at full pitch.

Ds is still asleep. Is it wrong to want to poke him? Wink (I won't by the way). I feel like death warmed up and made of lead.

Dod for me today, so will weigh in at 9am.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Beans on toast, and apple and a yogurt
Shepherd's Lentil Pie

Cheeseandbiscuits · 16/08/2011 08:18

Oh bee. Brew? Wine? Can you get some rest today? How old is DS?

Had a fab night out. Was a lovely treat, in a gorgeous restaurant. DH really pulled out all the stops. I had duck confit brusvhetta, roasted chicken with potato gratin and veg (it was posher than that but can't remember how they phrased it?) then balsamic strawberries with white chocolate sauce and a malbec granite.

Am not expecting a fruitful DOD this week, I have been appaulling naughty all week, mostly on booze, Ah well. And the inlaws are arriving this morning. Gin required me thinks.

FOod:
B: branflakes, strawbs and ff yog
L: stirfry (left over from my sisters dinner last night)
D: spaghetti and meatballs

grinningbee · 16/08/2011 08:21

Envy Ooooh, your dinner sounds gorgeous Cheese

Not a prayer of any rest today. Ds is 8 months. And from the sound of it he has just woken up. Hurrah.

On the plus side, my thighs don't seem to hurt from the shred yesterday, but I may be too tired to feel it!

Going to put bins out (thanks dh for not doing it) for the bin men, then get him up and dressed.

whatkungfuthat · 16/08/2011 08:54

Morning all. bee hope you manage to get some rest today. cheese my stomach is growling reading that, what is malbec granite though?

Well I weighed myself on the Wii but didn't look at the actual weight as too scared (its high) but at least I've got the BMI and I can check what I weigh on next week's DOD as I would have hopefully lost something by then.

Has anyone made the SW quiche? I have the recipe but can you use quark instead of very LF cottage cheese, and would you want to?

Food:
mullerlight and fruit
Toast with banana and honey, prob another ML
Risotto with prawns and mystery squash - Aldo Zilli recipe but I only use half of the butter and cheese that it says (wine and butter from syns, parmesan from HEA)

Riasdragonflytattoo · 16/08/2011 09:40

I was planning to make the quiche thingy in the magazine with quark (I have no intention to ever start eating cottage cheese), but haven't got round to it yet.
Had gammon last night, I'm not keen, but DH cooked Shock and it made a nice change. Am going to make a stew for the boys today with the nearly off well-matured steak and lamb steak that's lurking in the fridge.
I am stressed to the point of feeling sick as I haven't heard from DH that he's even arrived at the hospital. Hopefully this means he got there and was straight into the system and is currently being butchered. Or he's waiting and doesn't know when he's in theatre, so isn't texting me because there's nothing to tellHmm

I am having a pizza tonight!!! One of those thin crispy ristorante ones that Tesco sell. I'll just have to face the music at group (and maybe when it shows a gain it'll be the kick up the arse I need?)

sorry for lack of sleep, Envy at eating out.

whatkungfuthat · 16/08/2011 10:01

Ria you probably haven't heard due to a combination of him being prepped and men being stupid and not realising that we need to get regular news. Hope everything goes ok.

One the the women that who was in my group last year has updated her facebook status to say she has lost over 70lbs, grrr why didn't I keep it up Angry

grinningbee · 16/08/2011 10:46

I am stuffed. Two weetabix, a big banana, yogurt and enormous cup of tea. Yum yum! Now I am too full to contemplate eating biscuits and feeling sorry for myself Grin

Weigh in done before all that food. If I had the energy, I may bouce a little bit Tigger-like. I think I'll just make do with peeling some spuds for later instead.

Ria men have no idea on what we need to know. Hope he contacts you at some point Hmm.

BonzoDooDah · 16/08/2011 11:49

Morning ladies.

Hope your DH is okay today Ria

We had the SW carbonara last night and it was YUM!

For the quiche you could use quark - you can use pretty much anything in quiche and it'll work but the cottage cheese will taste nicer as it has a texture and will go more "cheesey" when cooked.

If you haven't liked cottage cheese I would reccomend longley farm stuff as it is significantly more tasty than any other brand. I can eatit with a spoon out of the pot [weirdo emoticon]

Cheeseandbiscuits · 16/08/2011 11:54

Any news from DH ria?
how's it going bonzo?

BonzoDooDah · 16/08/2011 13:03

Hey Cheese
Feeling pretty good - have lost 1 1/2 stone now so the clothes that were very tight are now loose or dropping off and people are starting to notice the loss. Really, really want to lose this weight. I'm now lighter than I've been in at least 4 years which is great. Keep on going ... keep on going....

Riasdragonflytattoo · 16/08/2011 14:56

just heard from DH that he hasn't even gone down to theatre yet! wonder why he couldn't have let me know this morning. Being stupid I assumed he hadn't be in touch because he was "busy"!!!

hit the digestive biscuitsBlush

Hedgepig · 16/08/2011 17:36

MEN argggg not suprised you are scoffing biscuits Ria

SlinkyB · 16/08/2011 18:20

Oh no ria, that's awful! How long was dh supposed to be in hospital for? Is it a long op? Hope he's ok Sad

Am also Envy of your posh meal cheese

Dp playing golf tonight so a late dinner for us. Got some smoked haddock which I'm going to serve with some wilted spinach, broccoli and sweet potato mash :)

DoD tomorrow....Got my fingers crossed for you all!

whatkungfuthat · 16/08/2011 18:35

How frustrating Ria

Well I made the risotto, the mystery squash tasted of precisely nothing but at least it accounted for the third superfree. I asked DS to bring some fruit home and brought home bags and bags of stuff including some supersweet strawbs that were marked down. Thats my snack sorted while I'm watching Burn Notice later.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 16/08/2011 21:56

oops, I have to take it back (dontca just hate it when that happens). He had no signal in his ward. The nurse rang at about 4.45, and we collected him at 7.30 (thankfully missed the busy time on those nasty roads, but he is well enough to have found fault with my roundabout technique). The surgeon didn't find what he was expecting though (and DH is SO bloody smug about that because he didn't think it was what the consultant said).

Am glad to be home with a large glass of wine and a choice of crap for tea (poor DH got toast - only a day patient. Luckily I took him a sandwich and coffee, but he wanted to go to McD's!).

Can I just ask, how many of you go to group?

LittlePushka · 16/08/2011 22:23

Evening all.

I dont go to a group Rias, I do SW online. I do think a group would be good though - nothing local to me.

have ordered some meal books now -

Also, 10 minute solution fitness dvd arrived today - I almost had an asthma attack just geting the cellophane off the box. Does not bode well....Grin

LittlePushka · 16/08/2011 22:26

PS
B: Shreddies and strawberries
L: Pasta with chicken & butterbeans in sacla red pesto dressing
D: Tunatomatoes & cucumber with smidge of mayo & new potatoes

And 10 syns

Riasdragonflytattoo · 16/08/2011 23:01

my mother helped with the wine consumption tonight, so I have had less than I would have if I hadn't been to visitWink

I am still in two minds about going back to group (especially now DHs recovery time is longer than he was first told and we will have to claim ESASad, just hope he doesn't miss out on the job he had got lined up), today has been a day of stress=comfort, and I accept I chose that. Will see how tomorrow goes, but it won't be enough to pull it back for a loss on Thurs. I just really don't like face-to-face situations, or groups of people. Wonder if online would be better for me? Is it all online or do you have to telephone a consultant? (I have a serious telephone phobiaBlush).

timidviper · 16/08/2011 23:10

I'm feeling really sorry for myself :( My jaw is really bad at the moment so my face and teeth are all achey and hurt when I eat anything crunchy, so can't manage fruit or salad, can only eat mush. I'm feeling sick from the painkillers and am really fed up because I was doing so well.

Sorry to moan but :(

LittlePushka · 16/08/2011 23:52

Rias:No telephone contact with anyone, no virtual consultant. Its just you and the website. I find it a bit impersonal really - why I have popped into this thread.

Timid viper:whassup with your face?

timidviper · 17/08/2011 00:12

I have a TMJ disorder, it's basically that the joint of your jaw to your skull, on one or both sides, goes wonky which causes pain in the face and teeth. It sounds stupid but, apart from the aching, it makes me feel really agitated and sick too so I just feel really sorry for myself when it plays up.

I've made myself a big pot of vegetable soup tonight to try to minimise the diet damage (it's much easier to suck chocolate than to suck salad!)

I'm hoping it'll go soon if I stick to soft foods and painkillers though.

Good luck with your fitness dvd. I have a Gillian Michaels one "Banish fat, boost metabolism" and, although I'm still really crap, I'm slowly improving.

grinningbee · 17/08/2011 07:30

Timid hope you feel better soon, that sounds rotten Sad

Ria I do SW online as well. Bought a 3 month subscription, and you can find recipes, syn values etc on it. No need to speak to anyone, just log in weekly to put your weight in (and again - only if you want to). I find it very good, but I also like our virtual group here for a bit of banter Grin. I did the group thing a couple of times years ago. It was ok, but a bit boring. And there was also the weekly rotten fruit basket won by the slimmer of the week...

Littlepushka Ha ha re the cellophane Grin

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, apple, yogurt
Leftover Shepherd's lentil pie

Good luck for Dod everyone!
