Hi all!

Hope the title is ok - if not, someone else can do another one Grin

I dread to think what I've put on, I really hope I haven't undone ALL the hard work. I'd really like to get back to where I was at xmas by this xmas. It's not a great week to start as its my birthday next Sunday but I have to do something!

I'm going to read this thread from the beginning and get to 'know' everyone Smile

Riasdragonflytattoo · 14/08/2011 20:01

blimey, good luck with that mammoth task WKFT (I can never get your letters in the right order!) it took me ages to read it when I joined.

I have just lied through my teeth to my consultant on the phoneBlush. She should have rung yesterday (before I began to lose faith in myself)...

tomorrow is a new day...

Cheeseandbiscuits · 14/08/2011 21:11

Hello whatkungfuthat welcome to the thread. Well done on te initial weight loss. I have tried WW about a dozen times and always failed. SW seems to be working although the exceptionally large galass of wine I am guzzling might ruin the loss this week

Did zumba today - yay. Its fab, am off to look for the Wii game!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 14/08/2011 21:12

Oi ria get back on it tomorrow Wink Itsw a new day

Cheeseandbiscuits · 14/08/2011 21:39

Just bought shred and zumba for wii, want to do some form of exercise every day as I keep drinking Wine

SlinkyB · 14/08/2011 21:45

Oh dear, had a lovely Sunday eating all the wrong things - oops! Tomorrow is indeed another day, and dp is back to work so things should get back to 'normal'.

cheese - Friday night must've been the first hen-night I've been to sober! But the hen is pg, and the other ladies aren't big drinkers, so I was fine not drinking. Had it been a different crowd however, I don't think I would've been able to resist the vino! Ooh, let me know what the zumba Wii game is like please, am tempted myself as only go to class once a week but really enjoy it.

LittlePushka · 14/08/2011 21:48

Evening all!

My morning was good but a family get together blew the rest of the day out of the water - but though it was not SW finest, I certainly did not scoff and trough the way I would usually have done,..and I guess sometimes that happens. me 'n Ria are already over it already Grin

Hello whatkungfuthat!Pleased to hear you (and Cheese) prefered SW to WW. I was tempted by WW on the grounds of convenience of group - but counting points puts me off a bit because it does not seem transferrable to a healthy way of eating in the way SW seems to be. I am a bit of a SW virgin (not been one of those for a goodly number of yearsWink) this is my seventh day so I will be weighing in soon - though I might change my doom date to wednesday to slot in with this lovey crew.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 14/08/2011 21:53

I am still impressed slinky. I zumba (is it a verb?) twice a week and I'd do more if I could!

My prob with WW was the constant weighing and measuring and counting points. I am too lazy.

GOsh I am hungry tonight. Its prob wine related so will ignore the pangs! DH and I have date night tomorrow, woohoo! And it won't be SW friendlyas he's taking me somewhere posh in Londontown. What to wear....

grinningbee · 14/08/2011 22:55

Welcome to whatkungfuthat (hope I got that right!).

The curry I made tonight was bloody lovely, even if I do say so myself. Dd has been very trying today, and if I had had it in the house, I would have have merrily munched my way through a 400g bar of dairy milk.

I don't think I'll have done very well this week. I haven't been bad, or eaten anything naughty. Boo.

Dh has booked us in to a restaurant this coming Friday and it's a mexican type. I'm wondering if a chicken burrito or something would be a good idea? Any thoughts? Or maybe I should just take the night off... Weirdly, I would rather not go, even though we have not had a night out on our own since April. I so want to get into the next stone! Moi? Obsessive?

Probably.

I should go to bed. I have to take him to work in the morning, and we need to leave at 6.15. Waking the dc will be fun Hmm

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/08/2011 07:30

Morning Morning.

What curry did you make bee? I think the best thing to have is either veggie chilli or fajitas. Burritos are fried with cheeseGrin. You should go out though, you'll have a lovely time and maybe DH can redeem himself! Wink

Quiet day today, just waterbabies.
Food:
B: strawbs and ff yog
L: beans and poached egg on hobbit toast
D: out!

whatkungfuthat · 15/08/2011 09:28

Morning all, thanks for the welcomes Grin (although you may not be saying that when I stagger in on a friday night after too many wine syns and come out with random nonsense).

The roast beef that I got was huge as it was on special in Sains so we will be having it tonight with horseradish mash and mixed veg, although I may do some bubble and squeak with leftover veg for me. I did roast spuds in Flora cuisine in the end as I found a site that said 20ml was 6 syns, so 3 each between us. Wish I hadn't bothered as, rationed, it wasn't as good as spray oil. I have also been given a huge round squash of some kind which I was told was a courgette but its bigger than a football. It keeps looking at me so I may do a prawn and whatever-it-is risotto tomorrow.

I've got the zumba for wii and have got as far as guffawing at the belt, it may have to wait till the kids go back to school though as I can't bear the hysterical laughter. I've also got shred but can't do some of the exercises due to needing a bra that has been built on the Clyde to keep the boobs in place while doing them. I am just getting over a middle ear problem that made me really dizzy so I am going to have to ease myself into exercise Hmm

whatkungfuthat · 15/08/2011 09:30

Also, I get called loads - What, Kungfu, or any the initials in any order. I'm not bothered, it serves me right for picking a stoopid name!

grinningbee · 15/08/2011 10:20

Morning!

One 90 mile round trip (2 hours and 20 bloody minutes) later, and I'm here. Dh didn't even say thank you Angry. I've just fed and watered the dc, hung out a massive load of washing and finally got to eat my breakfast!

Cheese I made the beef rogan josh one. I left it simmering for ages and it was gorgeous. Himself had chips and naan bread with it. I had broccoli Grin

What Get yourself down to Bravissimo. I did the very same thing on Saturday and have come away with something that holds the norkage still while jumping up and down, which is quite an achievement actually.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangles on toast, an apple and a yogurt
Leftover curry and more broccoli

Need to do some cleaning today. Boo. I am so tired though. Got to bed about 11.30 last night, alarm set for 5.30. Ds woke twice. Once at 1am, and then again at 3. Didn't go back down until 4. I was yawning my head off up and down the A1 this morning. I also need to sort out the dc's clothes and take out everything that is too small. I hate it though 'cos it's too sad Sad

Must be time for a cuppa.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 15/08/2011 12:12

hell fire, HUGE post, vanished.

whatkungfuthat · 15/08/2011 15:09

Ria I hate it when that happens.

I'm a bit confused about WW malted danish bread - is it 2 or 3 slices that are HEB? My old book says brown danish is 3 Confused

LittlePushka the first thing I did when I started WW after months of cooking healthy food from scratch on SW was go to M&S and buy a posh ready meal. I think WW are trying to make it so you eat more healthily by making most fruit and veg free (5-7 portions) but there is still nothing to stop you spending all your points at McD. With SW I know there are foods I can't go near which is better for me than flirting with danger by having them and trying to reign myself in.

SlinkyB · 15/08/2011 16:04

DoD for me today; got on the scales this morning and they said "Lo" !! Think they were referring to the batteries though Wink

Date night sounds good cheese - dp and I were meant to have one the other week for our anniversary, but my Mum broke down on the way over so we just ordered in Indian! Hope you have a lovely time.

Ugh, bee how do you function on that little sleep?! I'm lucky ds is a good sleeper as I need my sleep...speaking of which, I may just join him for a sneaky nap now as think turbo-shredding this am, followed by a walk to the park/lake, has worn me out!

Bit cheeky, but would anyone please e able to look up the syn value of a Petit Filous Chocolate Dessert?! They are lush, so thinking ds may just have the vanilla ones to look forward too. Besides, he's far too interested in sucking my shoes right now to know any different (gross).

Riasdragonflytattoo · 15/08/2011 16:18

brown danish is 3 slices. all other 400g bread is 2, including nimble

whatkungfuthat · 15/08/2011 16:18

Who makes Petit Filous? I can't find them in my book

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/08/2011 16:21

I'm looking online. Is this it

Yoplait, Petits Filous Fromage Frais, 6 pack, all varieties, 50g pot - this is 1.5syns!

Riasdragonflytattoo · 15/08/2011 16:25

slinky I can't find the petit filous chocolate, but it says a 50g pot of fromage frais is 1.5

whatkungfuthat · 15/08/2011 16:25

If its Little Desserts - choc or vanilla caramel its 4.5 per 60g pot

whatkungfuthat · 15/08/2011 16:26

Thanks for the bread info Ria Smile

Riasdragonflytattoo · 15/08/2011 16:31

I am overwhelmed by it all ATM.Sad
I think I picked a really bad week to start as I am preoccupiued with DH's op (and the thoughts of driving on York ringroad in rush hour), and am wondering if I should take a break from the OU after this course and sort out my house/get a proper routine etc... add all that to the thoughts of going to whichever group I manage to get to this week... the last thing I feel like doing is planning, cooking, eating.

I am a wimp!

Riasdragonflytattoo · 15/08/2011 16:32

4.5 syns for that tiny amount??? Shock

grinningbee · 15/08/2011 16:49

Oi, Ria you are not a wimp. You have a lot on your plate at the mo.

I have shredded, hoovered, just brought in the mahoosive load of washing now it's dry, done the bins (yuck) and cleared one large drawer of ds's too small clothes. Phew. Just about to give the big little growing monster his tea.

I love the "scales said lo" Slinky. The battery doesn't last long in mine either, and it's a pain.

It's my DoD tomorrow. Not sure what to expect really. Think I may go for another big walk around Nottingham to get a bit more walking in. Need to think of a good pressie to get my stepmum as it's her 60th this coming weekend. When we went into town on Saturday it was obvious where the rioters had been. Awful.
