Hi all!

Hope the title is ok - if not, someone else can do another one Grin

Oh blimey Ria and Cheese have a collective hug.

I have made a major discovery - you cannot do an exercise dvd in a maternity bra. It is not an excuse. I'm a 36GG or a 34H and doing star jumps with these droopy old knockers is dangerous. I am also Angry as I had done the warm up, and got into the first bit when both dc started kicking off, and then dh rang to make sure I was ok (after only ringing 20 minutes before) and asking me to do an errand.

I don't get to do anything for myself! . I know one thing though - did two sets of the squats with weights (you'll know which bit I mean Kid) and my arms are like jelly!

Rant over.

Off out now for some retail therapy. Hopefully ds will nap and dd will be good. Hmm

I've given up on shred and SW for the time being. I am slightly aware of what I'm eating as I don't want to undo all the good work I've done so far but I am too busy to put too much effort into planning meals and working out.

I tackled DS's room today, it was disgusting! I had sweat dripping down my face and I'm not exagerating! So that was probably just as good as a workout. I even had to bend in all sorts of directions to get under his bed to retrieve a piece of toffee that had started growing something under his bed. It was glued to the floor (laminate) so I had to scrub and scrub to get it off. PLus I had to lift the bed to get the drawers out to clean behind them.

My sister text me, she got shred and started it today, her legs are like jelly lol

The whole of shred (level 1) is like torture but in a good way. It hurts so you know its doing its job.

Careful in that maternity bra bee you don't want to be giving yourself a black eye! I have a sports top with support inside that I weat as well as a bra which does its job.

Right, better go and finish DS's room, its almost done so I'd better finish it before he goes and wrecks it. DD's room is still clean and tidy which is a relief. Just got the kitchen and living room to do now before tomorrow evening. I also need to pack which is kind of important!

grinningbee · 12/08/2011 14:37

Now now Kid you haven't given up, you're taking a holiday break. Wink

I am going to be looking into boob containment this weekend. Dh has offered to hold them for me... Hmm

Got a bargainous pair of swimming trunks for ds for £1 earlier. Tried my cossie on and it's now too big! Mind you, the last time I wore it I was 34 weeks pg.

Time for a late lunch. Have a nice holiday Kid, if I don't get back before you go Smile

Riasdragonflytattoo · 12/08/2011 15:32

have a great holiday kid.

LakeFlyPie · 12/08/2011 20:46

Evening all Smile

Hope the hangover has subsided cheese and you are feeling a bit perkier.

Well done on 1st Shred bee, I'm only 34E and have a bit of trouble with bouncing doing the star jumps and 'butt kicks'.
I used to have a Shock Absorber sports bra which did a great job but is sadly too small ATM and I'm too mean to buy a bigger size.
I usually hold on (literally) to prevent too much jiggling around, I always make sure the blinds are firmly closed before commencing Shred.
I managed to get a Shred in today and it is definitely getting easier (have done it on and off - 2-3 x week on a good week for the last couple of months).
The cardio used to nearly kill me and now I can do Natalie style butt kicks and jump rope. Think Anita and I will be doing half press ups forever though.

Have a lovely holiday kid, I agree you should see it as a finite holiday break, you've done so well so far, don't give up now.

DS1 is having a sleepover at my parents' house tonight, will probably be having his 'midnight' feast as I type.
The house seems so quiet despite DS2 crawling around at turbo speed getting into everything, think he's taking advantage of having all the toys to himself.

Done OK food wise today:
Red day
BF: Nectarine + pineapple + FF yog
L: Tuna salad (1 slice bread HEb) + grapefruit
D: Burgers and salad and a few bakers chips (HEb)
Snacks: Couple of slices of ham, olives (need to check syns), fruit and possibly Mini milk (1.5) if needing something sweet after dinner.

Quite fancy a glass of wine but will have fizzy water instead and think of the swimming costume I will be wearing in 2 weeks.

LittlePushka · 12/08/2011 21:55

Am laughing at the picture of evacuation of the toffee under the bed....Grin

Riasdragonflytattoo · 12/08/2011 22:44

yippee! think I may have a cunning HE lunch solution, which could well deal with my main junk-food issue Grin sadly don't have the ingredients yet, but I am planned for the weekend anyway. Roll on Monday.

have a great weeknd guys Smile

are you local then littlepushka? I am unnervingly intruiged.

LittlePushka · 12/08/2011 23:05

Grinningbee, can I ask - do SW online send a SW magazine in the post or is it sent as a PDF or something?

And this shred thing - sounds good but do you need much space or lots of equipment to do it?

Hedgepig · 13/08/2011 07:17

Morning, I'm at my parents trying to hack into their neighbours WiFi on my phone.Grin

DS1 was so excited to see us after his week with the GPs. I'm taking it easy this weekend take away last night and bbq this afternoon.
Ria Do tell on you lunch plan I am intrigued
Well done on the cleaning Kid it sounds like a serious work out

kid · 13/08/2011 07:39

littlepushka I can't help on the sw online front but I can on the shred, well level 1. The exercise consists of star jumps, push-ups and sit-ups so that's how much space you need for that level (first 10 days)
You also need some weights but people use tins of beans etc.

I am STARVING and in desperate need of a cup of tea!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 13/08/2011 08:30

I'm on my phone too so just a quick message. Got my mum here this weekend as DH on nights. I'm off to pilates this morning and then we're taking DD to an art exhibition then for afternoon tea. I'll just have a cup of tea, no cake for me!
Food:
B: fruit and ff yog
L: out and about
D: chilli con carne, rice and salad
Exercise: pilates and lugging the pram around central London.

Have a good day one and all! kid have a fab fab hol and well done on the cleaning.
hedge after losing 3 stone, think you cam have a weekend of treats!
pushka I don't know, I think you still have to buy it but wait for bee . how are you getting on otherwise?
pixie jealous of the spaEnvy

Cheeseandbiscuits · 13/08/2011 08:32

Sports bra - 34f here (34j while Bf) and I've got a shock absorber which is great

ria what's this lunch?

grinningbee · 13/08/2011 08:48

I also am curious about the lunch Ria

Littlepushka there are different levels of online membership, but if you have one that includes the magazine they post it to you. My first one did take a little while if you're still waiting.

No equipment for the shred other than weights (or beans!). I bought some from ebay for a fiver. Weights that is, not beans Wink. Not very much room required so far, but I haven't seen the next two levels yet.

I am in serious pain today. My thighs are agony and I've pulled something down my right side. We're off out for a big walk around Nottingham later so I'll be pushing the double pram, but at least I'll get in a trip to Bravissimo for some boob scaffolding. The shock absorber seems to have lots of votes here.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Toast (hopefully!) and fruit
Beef curry and brocolli or leftover sweet chilli chicken and roast veg

OP posts:
LittlePushka · 13/08/2011 21:19

Thanks kid &bee for the info. Will await my magazine...listen to me, that's almost as tragic as me sitting gazing at my new tumble drier, bathed it its blue neon drum light and smiling though the whole delicate cycle...(Pushka shuffles off to look for a life).

Liking the idea of this shred caper....Shrek to Shred in 30 days. mmm its got legs,...

Hey cheese - how was the cakeless afternoon tea? (That's just tea innit??!!)
I think I am doing ok - this is day six just but except at lunch at friends house today (at which was not piggish at all Smile)I have been very much on Planet Extra Easy. I find the online bit a little bit tedious sometimes - I like to leaf through literature and also you cant flick through a book to get ideas for dinner. But I am going to get a book or two I think.

I have eaten more fruit this week than I eat in two months but it takes my sweet (ie choc & biscuits)craving away, which is my Achilles heel. Also not felt hungry - and ALLELUJIA SISTERS to that!

Cheese - do you all weigh in on same day? I noticed you have a lovely inspirational list going of the group progress.

SlinkyB · 13/08/2011 21:55

Evening everybody!

Like Kid, I have decided to take a little 'holiday' this past week. Well, dp was off work on holiday, and we have his 11yo son staying, so we've been doing some fun stuff and relaxing so I kinda thought 'sod it, I'm having a holiday too!' (even if we did stay at home). Haven't done any exercise since last Monday (the cold didn't help) but have still been fairly good food-wise. Nothing angelic though, so not expecting miracles next week, esp with lack of exercise.

The hen do/ball was good last night, only drank water but did devour scotch broth with roll, rosemary roast chicken etc AND a creme brulee cheesecake - whoops! Ah well, like I said, I've been on holiday.

Ha ha Pushka like the "from shrek to shred" ! I've renamed it the 300 day shred here as can't seem to do it for too many consecutive days. Was thinking I may do level 1 and level 2 in one go when I get back to it on Monday...only 50 mins, right?! Gonna call it turbo-shredding to try and get back on track with it. It will probably kill me though.

In-laws round for lunch tomorrow, will try and avoid apple pie but not holding out much hope Blush

Hope you're all having fab weekends :)

kid · 13/08/2011 22:38

Just popping in to say bye bye for now.
I'm all packed at last although I suspect the case will be opened a few more times as I keep remembering extra things to take.

I'm not that excited yet, I guess its because I know tomorrow is going to be such a long, tiring day. 1 1/2 hours to get to airport, wait around for 2 hours, flight 4 hours, 1 hour to hotel and then time to hit the bars which will be the best bit for me tomorrow.
I'm not really complaining, I know I'm lucky to be going. I just don't like the travelling part of the day.

My precious, darling puppy went off to where he is staying tonight. Its so weird not having him here. I'm not worried though as I know he will be very well looked after.

Right, best get a few hours sleep then. I'm sure I have internet connection where I am staying so I'm guaranteed to pop in to say hello now and again, not too often I hope though Grin

LittlePushka · 13/08/2011 23:46

I hope you have a safe trip kid! Your puppy will smell divine when you come home...awww. Where are you going to?

Have ordered a Shrek to shred DVD thanks to you lot....and some 10 minute kickboxing boot camp thing. Hey, in for a penny, in for a pound Grin

Riasdragonflytattoo · 14/08/2011 00:30

gawd I'm tired tonight. and Angry too. I had done SO well. Even bought alpen lights and fruit for a snack as we went straight from unexpected trip to town to a friends, and I knew we would be late home and wouldn't eat til late... ended up being invited to eat with friends, which was lovely (lovey food and lovely company) but not SW friendly. And DH decided it was my turn to have wine... am disappointed in myself as I feel I've fallen at the first hurdle again (I couldn't wait til we got home to eat as we've only been back an hour). I have spent the day trudging round town (£25 for 1 school jersey and the new tie!!!), and then walked leading the boys when they were riding for about 40 minutes. DS3 was on a huge pony tonight, and she was strong, so that counts as a workout right?

Am loving the "Shrek" thingGrin

my 10 min dance DVD came in the post... I did buy a lovely Joe Browns blouse today in town. Have coveted things from the catalogue for ages - I didn't realise they did larger sizes.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday. Hope your travelling isn't too tedious kid.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 14/08/2011 07:41

Morning all. I'm so stiff from carrying 17lbs of DD around London yesterday.thank god for our sling though, it's so much easier than the buggy on the tube. Had a fun Day out, art exhib was fantastic.

slinkyb hope you enjoyed hen do. Well done on not drinking! I'd have got stuck right in.
kid enjoy your hol
ria let me know what dance DVD is like. Don't beat yourself up about slipping up. You haven't fallen at the first hurdle. The first hurdle is signing up!
pushka I also do extra easy cos it's, urm, easy! Can't be arsed with fussing around! Weds is our 'day of doom'. we all weigh in together, or those who weigh in different days keep it quiet till then. The others pm me with their stats and I then publish a list. You don't have to give your weight if you don't want too!

bee well done on shredding. Did you get your over shoulder boulder holder?

Today looks like this:
B: weetabix
L: JP, beans and salad
D: Thai green curry with Jasmine rice ( 2.5 syns)
Exercise: zumba class (45min)

kid · 14/08/2011 09:09

Sitting in gatwick waiting for last crew member to arrive who is help up by some olympic bike ride or something. No-one is allowed to board until all crew members are here so we are delayed until further notice Sad

Update, crew member is here, boarding to start shortly, Cyprus here we come! Smile

grinningbee · 14/08/2011 15:09

Afternoon everyone!

Ria you are not a failure. So there. Smile

Cheese I did get one thank you. I tried the one Hedgepig recommended, and the shock absorber one as well. Picture this - half dressed woman in changing room (thankfully without assistant) jumping up and down to test the "bounceabilty". The changing rooms are upstairs so I can only imagine what it sounded like below me! I came away with a shock absorber one as it stopped pretty much any movement at all. Had to go up a band size though as they are really tight. So, the shred will be tried again tomorrow. I was in sooooo much pain yesterday from it, it was untrue! Ended up taking paracetamol Confused.

We've been to a farm today. Lots of run around space, but not an awful lot of animals really. Still, it was a good 4 hours out.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangle and ham sandwich, and a banana
Beef curry and broccoli

whatkungfuthat · 14/08/2011 17:11

Hello ladies, can I join please? I was doing really well on SW last year but foolishly switched to WW PP and it all went tits-up as I was convincing myself that I was actually having less points than I was Blush then I fell off the wagon totally. I've done the big shop and started today. So far I have had poached egg, grilled bacon with the fat cut off with grilled tomatoes for brekkie, a couple of Mullerlights and having beef, roast spuds with spray oil and loads of greens for dinner. I can't wait to get back on it as skinny (for me) clothes beckon from the wardrobe and I'd like to lose the best part of a stone before school starts - I have lots to lose.

DP has re-started too but we are not going to meetings as my local one is pants but it worked well when we were doing it last time as we use the Wii to keep track.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 14/08/2011 17:22

hi WKFT Grin good to "see" you again. I take it from your comments that the WW PP isn't much good then? I never got around to looking into it.

my kids have been possessed by the devil todaySad

whatkungfuthat · 14/08/2011 17:38

Oh poor you! My youngest isn't called Dr Evil for nothing so I feel your pain.

The thing with WW PP is that I swapped because I was worried about portion sizes on SW as I thought at some point that I should be reducing them and training my body to expect less food. I've since come to the realisation that I am and always will be a greedy moo so SW is perfect in that respect. Also, both times I've done WW I've come unstuck over xmas and this ultimately lead to gain. I remember thinking last xmas that, had I still been doing SW, most of the food would have still be free if cooked with the old faithful spray oil but I gained loads. I was also seduced to the dark side by the thought of having 'real' bread but that way lies madness Grin.

Did everyone on the old thread reach their goals, or did it just fizzle out do you think?

Riasdragonflytattoo · 14/08/2011 17:57

LOL @ "real" bread. Or, in fact, any bread in larger quantities!

I'm not sure, I know my target is further away now than ever, but I think everyone else was more disciplined than me anywayWink
