Hi all!

Hope the title is ok - if not, someone else can do another one Grin

Well, that was fast work! Won an auction for some weights yesterday on ebay, and they're already here. Just need that shred dvd to arrive, and then I can be an endless source of amusement to dd, ds and dh.

Off for a pootle a bit later. Need to look at paint for our bedroom, and curtain poles too. Life is exciting Grin

Bounces quietly Tigger-like back out of thread Grin

Ah, peace is restored for a few minutes. DP has taken dss to the cinema, and ds is napping. Why do they always have a nice, long, nap when you don't actually need/want them to btw? Will have to wake him up for baby group in 15 mins or so :(

cheese I had wine and chocolate last night, but only in small amounts; sounds like you deserve it anyway, hope you get a better night's sleep.

lake our dc's are at similar stages - mine's 'turbo crawling' now too (although not quite furniture surfing yet). Are you getting tired of saying "no, hot", "no, Mummy's" etc? I am!

Made a giant corned-beef pasty yesterday (why?!) and just had a slice with a load of dressing-free salad, and I binned the top layer of pastry...so not TOO bad? MIL popping over later, so will try to palm some off on her.

Hope you're all having a good day...

Riasdragonflytattoo · 09/08/2011 13:37

hi guys, hope you are all faring well. I don't watch the news, but it sounds bad from what I have picked upSad

I bought some bunkbeds yesterday, so spent the afternoon cleaning and assembling them, then had a bit of a pants night so didn't come back downstairs after getting the boys to sleep. They lasted in their own room until 3am...

DH has taken the boys out fossil hunting on the coast this morning, so I can study! Have done a bit, but have also cleaned the fridge... I need to do the study as my deadline is Thursday, but there is shedloads of sorting out to do in the boys room after yesterday that I thought we might have all cracked on with together.

Had a sneaky WI and it's not good news. Kind of hoping it's TOTM because I have no other explanation.

grinningbee · 09/08/2011 16:24

The pasty sounds nice Slinky. And Ria I hope it is for you too.

Nothing going on here. Ds conked out so that scuppered my plans for going out. I am bored. Have already chopped the veg for tea later, hoovered twice and dusted.

Ho hum.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/08/2011 16:38

Went to the park and got told to go home as trouble expected Sad

grinningbee · 09/08/2011 16:48

Oh bum, that's not good Cheese Sad

Not sure if anything is ongoing in Nottingham still, but Mil is very close to the town centre and I would imagine is more than a little worried. I read on the internet that groups are out there on the move again.

OP posts:
kid · 09/08/2011 16:56

Loads of police sirens and helicopters here and I'm too scared to go out. I couldn't even take DS to the Drs as I didn't want to get caught up in any trouble.
I have even cancelled my gym class tonight as I am too scared to go out there. Its ridiculous. Even my dog will have to make do with going in the garden instead of a proper walk. I am not taking ANY chances at all. Am watching the news on and off but so far, nothing has been confirmed.

I do know that trouble has started in Wandsworth and possibly Putney but other than that, just too many rumours going around.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/08/2011 17:00

Def trouble in Archway. It's so frightening. Dh working till midnight again so it's just me and DD. Truly awful. I agree, kid, best just to be at home.

Anyway, DD is now pretty good shot with rattle and her chain of rings, she'll sort anyone out who gets too close!

in a dark place tonight, though have been reading my SW mag. How I wish I had the balls to do this. I could probably do 10-12 miles now OK, but I don't have time to get the training in for this Sad. I also fret about the sponsorship aspect of these things - I would love to do one, but don't have loads of friends/family or a big workplace to ask. Might have got involved in this but DH is in hospital straight after this weekend. (this is very near where I go on holiday).

hope those of you in cities are OK, I believe it's spreading? Sad Hope DH gets home OK cheese. Thinking of you all x

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/08/2011 22:35

ria we would sponsor you. Or I would at least. bloofer one of our previous members did a sponsored walk and got some money from us!

Things v quiet here. Have had a couple of glasses of wine as feeling a bit nervy. Not a helicopter to hear, worries me a bit. Will sit up and wait for DH I think, although I'll be shattered tomorrow. The in laws have cancelled thier visit tomorrow. At least one good thing has come out of all of this Wink

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/08/2011 22:54

Oh slinky are you in Wooton Basset? I grew up in WIlts, in Bradford on Avon!

Riasdragonflytattoo · 09/08/2011 23:50

lol cheese Wink

suppose I just don't have the confidence to ask (legacy of Brownies - "you must not ask for sponsorship from people you don't know...") Bloody bumpkinBlush anyhow, missed the boat this yearSad one day...

must be "that time", seriously feeling shite and don't want to go to bed. DH mentioned long walk tomorrow. So long as the DC walk with him that will help - green therapy (though we can't go anywhere that the car might get dirty!)

Hope DoD goes well for everyone x

Cheeseandbiscuits · 10/08/2011 00:07

Wine for Ria. Chin up. Exercise always helps I find.

Oh god its DoD already. You know what to do....Pm me your stats!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 10/08/2011 07:41

It's the day of doom and I am a happy lady. Pm me your stats and I will publish them tonight.

I've had about 5 hours sleep as I waited up for DH. Never mind! He's off today but has piles of revision to do. Expect DD and I will head to the park. Also got zumba today, I'm looking forward to it.
Food:
B: weetabix
L: jp, Tuna and salad (2.5 syns for Mayo)
D: summer lamb casserole from old SW mag. Spinach on the side.

Have a good day everyone!

grinningbee · 10/08/2011 08:28

Ria I would have brained your dh over the car thing. How annoying! And if you want sponsoring for something, just ask!. Hope the time of the month makes its appearance soon and you feel better.

Cheese yay for you on your Day of Doom Grin

I am also a happy bunny today. Going to make a cuppa now and write my shopping list.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a very sad banana
Cheese triangles on toast and an apple
Leftover quorn bolognese and pasta

Good luck today everyone.

SlinkyB · 10/08/2011 09:32

Yes cheese, in WB! Grew up in Devizes tho, but was born in Wales (lived there til I was five) and my Mum's Irish...! Dp and all his family are WB born-and-bred though. How funny that we're both Wiltshire-ites! Wink

Off to Weston-Super-Mare today, but didn't sleep well as throat was too busy closing up, and have a headache too :( Hope I don't get a cold. Was meant to shred this am, but went back to bed when baby did Blush

Good luck today everyone!

Riasdragonflytattoo · 10/08/2011 10:06

not good. I'll join the list next week.
Pouring with rain.

LakeFlyPie · 10/08/2011 10:13

Morning all,

Slinkyb it's a very cute age isn't it, although slightly less cute at 5am this morning.
I find I'm mainly saying "No please don't eat soil" ATM.

An unexciting DOD for me but am moving forward with renewed focus Grin

Food today (green):
BF:Nectarine, strawberries and FF yog
L: Beans on toast (HEb)
D: Pea and potato frittata + salad
Snacks: Fruit, yog, Options hot choc, Ryvita + cottage cheese if I feel the need for some crunch.

DS1 has gone to my folks for the day so I'm going to take advantage of DS2's current nap and get some sleep. Should Shred but cumulative sleep deprivation is taking it's toll today.

Hedgepig · 10/08/2011 13:11

afternoon all.
Ria I love your car story, DH washes his I leave mine dirty until I can no longer see through the windows then I take it to the hand car wash guys its only £6 so why would I waste 2 hrs of my life doing it. Sorry you are not feeling very happy and i hope you had a nice walk today.

I hope it has calmed down for all you London girls, it's just so fecking stupid
I nearly cycled to work today but it looked like rain so I didn't bother.

Food
B Hobbit toast and jam (wot my mate made) and melon/nectarine and yogurt
L Ham Salad
T Left over spinach and mushroom cannelloni (Yes I finally made it)

Snacks - so far Weetabix oaty bar (4 syns), so I still have some to play with

right back to work

kid · 10/08/2011 14:04

Good afternoon.
All seems quiet on the riot front, will venture out shortly and hope to avoid any trouble if it starts again.
I've not weighed myself today as my stats are messed up anyway due to the dodgy scales. After my holiday, I'll WI and that will be my new starting weight, I'll know myself that I've already lost over a stone but I won't be kicking myself for gaining x amount on holiday.

Today will be day 5 of shred, I'll do it after dinner.
I've spent two hours this morning cleaning ds's room. She is 12 and although her room wasn't too bad, there was an unpleasant smell in there even though the window had been open for 3 days. Dd wasn't even here, not sure how she'll feel about me throwing 4 binbags worth of stuff from her room Grin

I'm off to get a manicure and a pedicure done. Need my feet to look good in mines shoes, poor person that has to do them though lol

I've got ds's room, kitchen and living room to sort out before I go on holiday.
My room, bathroom, toilet and dd's room dine son I'm doing okay time wise.

grinningbee · 10/08/2011 14:35

Afternoon!

Feel like I've run myself ragged so far. Had to deliver an invoice for dh, so did a roughly 70 mile round trip for that, then back to do the weekly food shop. I now have enough stuff in the fridge and cupboards for a small army! Dc fed and watered and I'm finally getting some lunch myself.

Small revision to the days food - saving the bolognese for tomorrow night when we get back from the pub as it just needs heating, so tonight will be SW fryup night instead. Sausages, bacon, eggs and tomatoes. Yum!

I end up taking our car to the carwash as dh just will not wash it. He once (tmi alert) threw up out of the window which went down the side of the car, and never washed it off... dirty git.

Hedge Cannelloni (sans mushrooms) is on my menu for the week. Very yummy.

Kid I would love a pedicure, but would probably kill the person doing it Grin and I have extraordinarily ticklish feet.

Oh - the 6 packs of ff Mullerlights are half price in Sainsbury's if anyone needs to stock up.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 10/08/2011 14:37

Oh, and on the baby front - ds decided to wake at 0.50am, and was still awake at 2.30am. Bless his cotton socks Hmm

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 10/08/2011 16:16

Been to zumba and am now shattered. Got stung by a wasp on the way home - is someone trying to tell me not to go to the gym?!

Any more for the list. We're popping out for a couple of hours but will publish it after that.
