Hi all!

Hope the title is ok - if not, someone else can do another one Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 07/08/2011 21:49

Nope I reckon if you stick to clear spirits and diet mixers, fruit for yog and freash meat with veggies / sald then you won't go far wrong.

kid · 07/08/2011 21:55

I'm going to do my best. When I get back, I'm going to start sw again with a new starting weight and I'll stick to it a bit better than I have recently.
I only go away once a year so I might as well enjoy it!

Riasdragonflytattoo · 07/08/2011 22:04

Envy kid

I've been for an hours walk! feel much better. must make the most of DH being around to grab some child-free exercise time.

armani · 08/08/2011 00:37

Any room for a newbie? I've been following sw for 5 weeks now and have lost 2 stone exactly :) still a long way to go though and have been feeling really down about it the last few days :(

Anyhow tomorrow is a new day and I'm determined it will be a good one!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/08/2011 07:35

Hi armani welcome! 2 stone that's amazing Envy

I'm aching from zumba yesterday. It's always hard going back after holidays.no exercise for me today unless waterbabies counts!

Food:
B: eggs on toast
L: mackerel salad with cous cous
D: stirfry

SlinkyB · 08/08/2011 08:02

Hello everyone, sorry I've been M.I.A since Thurs, had a busy few days and not enough time to turn laptop on (wish I had an iPhone as wonder where you busy Mums get the time to post!).

kid am most Envy of your holiday too - I went 4* A/I last year but don't know how much weight I put on as I was 20+ weeks pregnant! Cheese is right though, they provide so much yummy fresh fruit and things you should be ok...although agree if it's only once a year you should relax and enjoy the naughty stuff too!

Please could someone pm me the facebook group details/who do I pm my name to be added? Will also try and upload some photos soon - please can those who've added theirs add my name to the privacy settings so I can have a nosy?! Wink

DP is off work on hols this week, and we have dss (11yrs) staying with us, so we're hoping to do a few daytrips and nice things Smile Just hope it doesn't mean I fall off the wagon with take-aways and ice-creams etc

Right, DoD for me so I'm bathroom-bound, wish me luck!

grinningbee · 08/08/2011 09:11

Ah, that's better. Dh is out at work so I can log in properly Grin

armani Welcome in, and congrats on 2 stone in 5 weeks.
Ria Yay for the boys winning lots of prizes, that's brilliant. Hope things are ok today.
Kid Excellent on the weightloss comments, it's a real boost when someone notices isn't it (congrats on all the exercise too!). Envy for the holiday though Wink.
Cheese you always sound so busy. I don't know how you do it.
Slinky Good luck for DoD today.

So... Ria no, he didn't have an explanation, and when I mentioned it in the morning he had no recollection of any of it.

Off out into town in a little bit (gosh, that makes it sound so much better than it is). Few bits and bobs to do, and I have promised dd some fudge cubes from Thorntons, so I will just go in for those and look longingly at the lovely chocs.

Food for today will be:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangles on toast, apple, yogurt
Leftover sweet chilli chicken and lots of roasted veg

I wore a new top yesterday when we went to the pub, and got a very positive comment on how much I've lost so I felt really pleased with myself. Best of it was, it was only £2.50 in Sainsbo's! I am going back for a couple more today if they still have some. I am also going to order the Shred dvd. No doubt dd will love trying to copy when that's on!

Right, breakfast time.

OP posts:
kid · 08/08/2011 09:46

I'm still in bed at the moment, yeah I know, lazy so and so Grin
But, in my defence, I was still awake a 1am due to all the police sirens and helicopters because of all the stupid looters raiding all the shops. I've not been anywhere near those shops but have seen the photos online, it's disgraceful.

My neck is still a bit sore, I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse. I'm going to do my day 4 of shred in an hour or so, once I've had breakfast.

I have got so much housework to do as I want the house spotless for my return from holiday. It's the only time my house gets so well cleaned lol

Hedgepig · 08/08/2011 10:48

morning (quick post I should be working) Iv'e had a lovely weekend and took DS1 to his grandparents for the week yesterday so the house is very very quiet, he was so excited as it was a big adventure for him.

Kid if it was my holiday I would have in my head breakfast was fruit and yogurt, lunch salads and lean meat and then what ever I fancied in the evening. I think that would keep you on track, you don't want feel to be deprived but it would be good to stay in control. Also check out the syns of ice cream etc so mini milks are 1 1/2 syns and fruity lollies are low too so you have in your had a choice. I hope you have a great holiday it will be fab to get away.

Hello armani welcome to our happy fold

I am so impressed with all this sheding Grin.

I found this BMI calculator online, I think it's really good. You can drag the weight line to see when you get to "healthy BMI" I'm actually not far off it which has given me a real boost here

food today
B. Melon, strawbs and yog and 2 Ryvita fruity
L. salad, chicken and new pots (in my new compartmentalized salad box Grin I am greeting excited about Tupperware ffs I really need to get a life)
D. left over BBQ bits and more salad and potatoes (or maybe SW chips for a change)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/08/2011 11:09

slinky hullo! Hope you had a lovely weekend. Will add you to my mates list and pm you my name once DH buggers off goes to work.

kid Envy of lie in, hope neck gets better. DD been up since 6 so I have done 2 loads if washing and ironing!

bee congrats on new top. I bought 2 lovely summer dresses from sains, they are fab and v flattering. I love being busy, need an activity planned everyday as itgives us something to get out the house for. If it was just me and DD in the house all day I'd go crazy.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 08/08/2011 11:38

Hi all. Welcome armarni Envy of your loss.

apparently DH is not unemployed until next Monday - he is on holiday this weekHmm

Kids getting on my nerves. DH glaring at me for being on the laptop, though he is doing his fair share of "sitting". He thinks the DC should be dressed - not sure why this is my job exclusively. Anyhow, I'm busy. Am trying to buy new beds for the boys off the FB selling site. I cannot cope with another night on the sofa...

just started to rain, so that might be our walk off.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 08/08/2011 13:21

seriously considering murdering husband. why do men make such hard work of breathing in and out?

timidviper · 08/08/2011 13:42

Know just what you mean Ria. My DH is stressing me out at the moment for no particular reason - breathing is enough sometimes!

I decided not to tell anybody (except you lot of course) that I am doing SW as I hate people asking how it's going, can you really eat that, etc and didn't tell DH for his own safety as he tries to "help" and that makes me want to kill him!

Over the weekend he commented that he is at his lightest weight for a while as we are eating such nice, healthy food lately (bear in mind that he is perfectly average size and hasn't changed over the last 20 years) and followed it up with "Have you lost any weight then?" to me Hmm I have lost 1st 5lb in 5 weeks! I know I have a lot to lose but you'd think he might notice!

armani fantastic weight loss - well done!

Hi to everybody else too - hope all is good with you all

kid · 08/08/2011 15:37

After a lazy start to the day I have now scrubbed the bathroom and repaired all the banister spindles that my dog kindly chewed up. I still have to sand them but they will take hours to dry.

Apparently there is more trouble going in with the looting. Rumours are that it will hit my area tonight. The place were warned about it happening in Enfield last night but it still happened, not on the same scale as tottenham admittedly. Hopefully it is nothing more than rumours about tonight. I don't feel like i'm in any danger at all. I have to vets at 6:30 so hopefully if anything does happen, they will wait for me to return home first!

Suppose I better go and do some more work. Might do some ironing or the shred (haven't done day 4 yet) but neither one of them appeal that much to me!

grinningbee · 08/08/2011 15:55

Blimey Kid it all sounds a bit scary. It's like the bad eggs have given themselves the perfect excuse to go and cause mayhem. Not good Sad

Ria Angry at your dh on your behalf. And I know exactly what you mean. I have been asking to get rid of the curtain track with pull cords for over a year. Still nothing. I am going to do it myself, and sod the consequences. I particularly like it when I get "I've done the washing up for you"

And Timidviper Angry at your dh too! That is a lot of weight to lose and he damn well should have noticed. Bloody men

I have done lots of fast walking while pushing the double pram today, and went into Thorntons and back out woth only the fudge cubes for dd, so I'm quite pleased with myself. Just need to hoover and then muster up the enthusiasm to chop the veg for tea.

I measured myself again the other day, and so far I have lost 6 inches from my bust, 5 from my waist and 8 from my hips! The waist measurement hasn't changed since last time, but I'm hoping that when the shred dvd lands and I actually do it, this will change. We will see...

OP posts:
Hedgepig · 08/08/2011 20:55

Hope you are OK Kid it looks pretty scary.

SlinkyB · 08/08/2011 21:18

Ooh, bee Well done on resisting the Thornton's fudge today -what a test for you! We went to a wildlife park and whilst dp and dss had whippy ice-creams, I had a cup of tea and an Alpen Light bar

Have you ordered your 30 Day Shred dvd yet? I'm getting on well with it, think kid is too. Pretty punishing, but no pain no gain, right?

Hope the London riots aren't affecting any of you :(

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/08/2011 21:31

Oh fuck, wine and pizza here - no riots yet thank god!

LakeFlyPie · 08/08/2011 22:11

Wow this thread's moving fast!

My MNetting opportunity has been vastly diminished in the last few days since DS2 discovered his turbo crawl mode which has been quickly followed by furniture cruising and stair climbing behaviour Shock

cheese glad DD is better.
bee sorry to hear your DH is being peculiar, as always you are the epitome of focus and your measurements show it
kid well done on daily shredding, I really enjoy the 1st workout when I get the chance to do it, didn't like the moves of the 2nd so much and haven't so much as looked at the 3rd!
Don't get the chance to do it much at the moment but must try and seize my moments a bit more over the next few weeks.
timidviper hope your face / teeth are getting better, did it have the silver lining of limiting your intake in a good way?

Big wave to everyone else to whom I mean to chat but can't remember past the last couple of pages of thread Blush

Food wise I haven't been as focused this week (handfuls of raisins / cereal here and there) and also opened a bottle of wine (which DP doesn't drink) which I haven't had for ages. It has lasted me 3 nights though
Haven't managed to fit in any proper exercise either this week, other than the day to day pram pushing, running around after DC etc.

So all in all will be happy / relieved if I've managed not to gain any weight this week.

However, will be booking flights to France tomorrow to stay with inlaws for 10 days at the end of the month, so really need to get back on track ASAP.
2-3lbs a week for the next 3 weeks will make a big difference and will get me into my old jeans for the holiday.
I refuse to buy any more 'fat' clothes when I've got a wardrobe full of stuff which hasn't seen the light of day since early pregnancy last Spring.

Have stocked up on berries, fruit and yogs today and am going to write down next few days food plans this evening.
I've threatened to keep a daily food diary for a while now and will start tomorrow, with proper attention paid to HEs and syn counting etc.

In fact, whilst my mind is there, food tomorrow.....
EE day-
BF: FF yog + strawberries + blueberries
L: Tuna salad sandwich + fruit (Bread HEb)
D: Moussaka + salad
Snacks: Yog and fruit
Syns: Options hot choc when if I'm craving choc by the evening (2 syns)
Possibly a mini milk (1.5 syns) if the hot choc doesn't quite hit the spot Grin

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/08/2011 22:14

Kid is all ok by you? Looks crazy!

grinningbee · 08/08/2011 22:28

Hope everyone is ok and safe tonight.

OP posts:
kid · 08/08/2011 22:28

It looks bloody scary and so annoying on TV. The video footage in mare street is about a mile away from me so we aren't in any danger from them. We can hear loads of sirens and helicopters all the time though, actually its gone a bit quiet now.

I haven't done my shred today as I've been sorting the house out. I scrubbed the bathroom floor which was a bit of a workout and I also sorted out my bedroom. I'll definitely shred tomorrow though. My waist is very sore from the workout which is good as it shows its working. Tomorrow will be day 4 so I am hoping to be able to see some change soon. It might help if I actually did it every day in a row though.

Wow, just watching some more news and I can't believe how young some of the kids taking part in the riots are. I swear they must be about 10 years old! Do their parents not know where they are? My DD is 12 and I sure as well wouldn't let her be out while all this is going on!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 09/08/2011 08:21

Crikey what a night. Wonder if tonight might be the same. Got to bed about 1am, then DD was up at 230 and then up at 630. I am shattered and no longer feel guilty about having 1/2 pizza and a glass of wine!

THey need to get the army out, close down the buses so the little horrors cannot move around and impose some sort of curfew. How much worse does it have to get before they take some proper preventative action?

DD having a nap so I am going to do the same.

B: Weetabix and a peach if they are ripe
L: Omelette and salad
D: The stirfry that I didn't have last night

grinningbee · 09/08/2011 08:25

Gooooooooooood morning!

The sun is shining, the sky is blue... and dd has woken up in a foul mood. Yay!

Slinky That is very halo worthy, having an alpen bar instead of icecream Smile
Lake I think I love you a little bit Wink - your tenner is in the post Grin

So. A day of housework beckons. Hurrah. I'll get the hoovering done in a mo before I weigh in and then get some breakfast.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Spaghetti hoops on toast, apple and a yogurt
Quorn bolognese and pasta (no doubt dh will want chips instead)

How is everyone faring in London today - anyone get any sleep?

grinningbee · 09/08/2011 08:26

Have an un mumsnet hug and I would offer Wine but it's too early - slug of brandy in the morning coffee maybe? Wink
