grinningbee · 03/08/2011 08:11

That dinner sounds nice Kid
Slinky you're following what I'm doing? Eeeek Grin Well, if you really want to I don't mind putting up the meals for the week in advance... you might get bored though!

Off to dad's in a little bit armed with birthday cake. If it gets cut I may try to sneak some of mine into ds Grin

Food for today:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangles or beans on toast, apple and a yogurt
Shepherd's Lentil Pie

Catch you all later! Grin

Morning. It's the day of doom today. I've weighed myself and, although I have gained, it's not too bad all things considered! Worth all the cheese and wine consumed on holiday.

kid that sounds yum!

Food:
B: dunno yet
L: stirfry veg and couscous
D: going out to healthy Indian restaurant that doesn't use butter, cream or ghee!

Gosh it's hot today. Got to take dd to gps as she's had temp and cough for 48 hrs then, if she's on good form, we'll hang in the park!

kid · 03/08/2011 08:23

I'm thinking that the MN iPhone app was a bad idea. I don't even have to turn the computer on to get here Grin

I weighed myself this morning and I definitely need new scales. According to these rubbish scales, I weigh anything between 60-73kg, quite a difference I think you'll agree!

I'm starving so I'd better go have my boring weetabix!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/08/2011 09:27

I have it now too kid. Very useful distraction

Poor DD is really poorly and has spent most of this morning sobbing. Got a GP appt at 11am, think she needs some antibs. Had a row with the GP receptionist..."what makes you think your daughter needs to see a doctor today? and I reply "I am a doctor". Silence down the line then she says "come at 11" and hangs up the phone Grin

kid · 03/08/2011 09:35

Hope your DD is feeling better soon cheese
Great response to the receptionist, bet her face was a picture Grin

I tried on a dress which hasn't fit me for 3 years and it fits just about I won't wear it until its a tad looser but it gave me the little lift that I needed to stick with it. I was quite tempted to just give up on SW now until I get back from holiday but I've still got over a week until I go so I might as well try and lose a little more weight.
Off to check out scales in Argos as I don't think DH will be willing to bring some home from work as he will have to carry them! He will buy anything if he has the car with him, but I've nicked the car today Smile

Hedgepig · 03/08/2011 10:22

morning. No weight loss here this week but went mad at the weekend so it's not surprising, it could be worse.

Cheese top response to the receptionist Grin, there isn't much arguing with that unless you are a Dr cos you have a Phd in medieval history or the like Smile

Kid do buy some scales it will make things easier and even if they weigh you differently to the old ones you will have a solid point to start form. Are you are using you existing ones on a hard surface? I have found mine don't work reliably on carpet.

Slinky I tried the extra light triangles too blooming horrid things, the light ones are much better and still can be used a HEA

I made SW burger and chips for tea last night, very yummy and DS2 even ate them, DS2 went "Me no like it" as he plonked it on my plate, luckily he had already eaten at nursery so he won't starve

food today:

B. nectarine and straws and Activia fat free vanilla yog
L salad with coronation chicken (syns for the mayo on the chicken)
D ????? the cupboard is bare

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/08/2011 10:24

Kid I bought some scales from amazon that I don't use and have neverbeen opened. Do you want them? They are digital ones..can't remember how much I paid for them.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/08/2011 10:27

Ps well done on the dress!

Hi hedge... Ha it would be funnier if I was a dr in toenail clippings or something similar! Can't bear Gp receptionist, why are they so often so vile.

LakeFlyPie · 03/08/2011 10:59

Morning all Smile

Oh dear, another week staying the same here Blush
I did the same on SW last time, a good week (3-4lbs loss) and then maintain for a week, would get there much quicker if I made all the weeks good ones.

Thanks for the slimming eats site link Ria, it looks really good.

kid I've got the cheapest basic scales (think DP got them in Tesco for a fiver when he needed to weigh suitcases!) and they seem to be reliable (on a hard floor)
I've got loads of braising steak in the freezer so will give that recipe a try, perhaps not the weather for it today, but soon.

timidviper you're storming it on the weight loss front, hope you feel perkier soon. Do you do any exercise? Could that help to get your endorphins going maybe?

cheese thanks for doing the list, a maintain after a week in Spain is a great result I reckon (I did the same staying at home with no wine Hmm) Hope DD is OK, the last thing you need when you have a poorly child is an obstructive receptionist (thankfully I'm blessed with the most lovely GP receptionists who are always friendly and helpful and have always given a same day appmt without question for DS when needed)

bee Do you do a weekly meal plan in advance, if so is that the secret to your success?

Right, food...

BF: Peach + pineapple + FF yog
L: Tomato + bean salad
D: Grilled chicken + salad

Need to do some proper meal planning to get back on track, will peruse slimming eats site later for inspiration.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone Smile

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/08/2011 12:19

DD has a chest infection so got a bag full of inhalers, antibiotics and saline drop Sad We are going to be stuck indoors today - boring!

I didn't maintain but only gain a wee bit - I expected at least a 3lb gain.

lake I meal plan a week in advance and then do an online food shop to avoid little extras.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/08/2011 15:07

only had 3 Pms where is everyone?

timidviper · 03/08/2011 15:11

kid I think your scales are related to mine! DD refers to ours as the 'evil' scales! They weigh at least half a stone more than some others and very from day to day, NO, MINUTE TO MINUTE MORE LIKE! I once got weighed, found it suspiciously low, had a shower, reweighed and I'd put on 5lb.

This week they tell me I've put on 3lb since Sunday despite being good. Will see what SW scales say tonight - hope I haven't!

grinningbee · 03/08/2011 15:23

I'm here!

The list seems to be going through a quiet patch Sad

Hope dd is feeling better soon Cheese. Yes Lake I always plan the week ahead when I do the weekly shop so I know what to buy. I make a list of ingredients and fruit and stick to it. Unless it's some biscuits as a treat for dd Grin. Is it the secret of my success? I don't know Blush. I am more determined this time, maybe that's it? In fact, I am about as determined as you can get.

Saw my dad earlier and has the thinest slice of cake going (you could see through it - think hobbit bread thin Grin) and I managed to give most of it to ds. He loved it.

I missed lunch today as I was just about to get it when the health visitor turned up unexpectedly to do dd's 2 year check. Everything fine, and just a smidge under the average weight, so I can tell certain members of my family to put a sock in it now. It was a good job I was in, but I was wearing slobby shorts and a sleeveless vest which I wouldn't be seen dead in to anyone but dh!

Off for a cuppa now.

P.S Stop lurking everyone else and come and say hello! Wink

grinningbee · 03/08/2011 15:29

Oh, and just in case I haven't bored you all to death, this is my meal plan for the week.

Breakfasts are weetabix and a piece of fruit

Lunches are toast with cheese triangles (the evil extra light ones), or beans on toast, or a ham sandwich - plus another piece of fruit and a yogurt

Dinners for the week are:
Sweet chilli chicken and roasted veg (does 2 nights)
Shepherd's Lentil Pie with veg (does 2 nights)
Quorn bolognese with pasta (does 2 nights)
SW fry up - sausages, bacon, eggs and tinned tomatoes (1 night)

Drinks wise I either have black coffee, tea with milk from allowance or sugar free squash.

Does that help anyone?

OP posts:
SlinkyB · 03/08/2011 15:45

Ha ha, I've been lurking I'll admit it! I tend to use the Blackberry Playbook which has this really annoying touch-screen keyboard. It's rather temperamental and if you make one little mistake on it, it takes ages to go back and correct and I lose my patience and give up. Just stuck the laptop on so can type properly (cheese will pm my stats now).

I have a massive pile of ironing to do but it's too hot. Also didn't shred this morning as ds gave us an unexpected lie-in; 8am, so was all behind schedule and couldn't be arsed

It's mine and my boyfriend's 3yr anniversary today and what do I get? My periods back! Bit of a shock to the system, as it's the first I've had since I had ds six months ago, and thought I wouldn't get them back as on Cerazette (Dr said 2/5 women on this pill don't have periods so was keeping fingers crossed). Sorry for over-sharing on this.

Off to PIL's tonight as each Wednesday is family meal night (no cooking, hurrah). Hope it's something healthy, although MIL's idea of salad and mine are two completely separate things !

ds is now commando crawling very rapidly, so spending much more time off my arse than on it. Can only be a good thing, right?

Good luck with the DoD everyone! (bet you wish I'd stuck to the BB Playbook now right?!) Wink

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/08/2011 16:01

It is very quiet generally! We need some new revruitsSmile

Hi slinky sorry your periods are back. Miserable. Mine came bk 2 months ago and it was hellish! My DDis 5 months and is getting frustrated that she can't move around.
Right better go, even the activity centre isn't keeping DD happy!

BonzoDooDah · 03/08/2011 16:07

Sorry - been away for long weekend. SW weigh-in is tonight so can't post til after that. Normal service will be resumed shortly :)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/08/2011 18:09

bonzo will wait for you! Good luck and hope you had a lovely weekend.

Any more kid? Any others?

Riasdragonflytattoo · 03/08/2011 19:26

helloooo Smile have been AWOL on family days out (DHs days off from work- nightmare. grumpy git).

Spent yesterday in York (DH had his pre-op appt at the hospital), we were at the outlet centre before it even opened! Stupidly decided to get weighed on the scales in the loo- those really discreet ones that shout "we are weighing you now" so everyone in the loo looks at youBlush. Am a bit Hmm as it said I am 2 inches shorter than I really am, though I think my weight was near enough as I was dressed in heavy jeans etc... re-weighed first thing this morning and have STS, which is a relief, though am at my heaviest I thinkSad.

What info do I PM for the DoD list? (and how do I do it?)

Found a gorgeous sweater dress thing in Next that I plan to buy for the autumn/winter in a smaller size as my incentive (have never done that with anything "new" before"). Spent the rest of the day in the Castle Museum-blimey it was hot!

We've been up the coast today to Staithes. We were meant to b going to another village for a long walk, but all the car parks were full. Funny how it was meant to be 30 degrees C (according to the radio), but I was so cold on the beach I sat wrapped in a towel!

sorry for long post, being with DH and the kids for 2 days does this to me!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/08/2011 19:46

Sounds like you are having a lovely time ria. Good idea to get some clothes in a smaller size, maybe take a photo of it and stick it on the fridge!

You click on inbox and then send new msg then type my name into the address box. You can send whatever you like. Most people do start weight, current weight and the amount they have lost/gained etc that week. If you don;t want to give weight then total loss is grand!

kid · 03/08/2011 19:54

I'm skipping DoD this week as my scales are up the wall. I'll get some new ones before next Wednesday (and i'm starting 30 shred too tonight Smile)

Riasdragonflytattoo · 03/08/2011 20:01

thanks cheese, will hopefully be mailing you next week with a big fat lossGrin. Can't find the jumper/dress thingy online. Will have to go back to YorkWink

DH back to work tomorrow (hopefully - his workplace has a facebook and their status is currently that a big event for the weekend has been cancelled. DH didn't know until he logged on FB. Am fretting he will turn up tomorrow to find the place closed downHmm but I am prone to overreacting!) so it will be back to normal housework and stuff and trying not to murder my children Have loads of food in so have no excuses really.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/08/2011 20:19

Right I am going to publish the list as DH is galiantly failing to get DD down and she is screaming! No sign of dinner yet, I canceled my night out. Stirfry it is [yawn]

slinkyB has lost 2.75lbs this week, start weight 12st11lbs, now weighs 12st 1 1/2lbs, total loss 10.5lbs
bee has lost 2.5lbs this week, Start weight 15st 11.5lb, Current weight 13st 10lb
Total lost so far 2st 1.5lb
mousey has lost 2lbs this week, start weight 12 st 13.5, current weight 12 st 2.5, total loss 11lbs
hedgepig has stayed the same this week, Height 5'7", start weight 14st 11lb, current weight 11st 13 lb, total lost 2st 12lb
lakepiefly has stayed the same this week, current weight 11st 12lbs, total loss 10lbs
cheese has gained 1.5lb this week. Start weight 13st 3lbs, now weighs 12st 4lbs. Total lost 11lbs

Have just realised how lame I am with my measly 11lbs in 3 months

Cheeseandbiscuits · 03/08/2011 20:20

Sorry lake got your name the wrong way around Blush

Hedgepig · 03/08/2011 21:38
