Kid I did the 30 day shred back in March and really enjoyed it. I only lost about 6lbs that month but my shape changed quite a lot. I keep meaning to dust it off and do anyother 30 days but I just cant be arsed seem to find the time.

Hedgepig · 01/08/2011 11:25

morning! Bee I can't believe for family didn't notice a 2st loss Shock were you still wearing your old clothes which just covered you up? It is so nice when people notice, I had a lady at work (who I don't see that often to chat to) telling me she was so "proud of me" for loosing weight (I nearly sobbed, but I am a soft sod)

The 30 day shed sound like very hard work Kid, I hope you enjoy it.

I fell back in to old eating habits yesterday Blush, we had a picnic with friends and we were bringing nibbles most of which didn't get eaten so while I was cooking tea I had most of a large pack of sweet chill crisps and then thought sod it I'll have biscuits as well OH and a glass of wine and a G&T!!

Food today
B Shredded wheat
L Salad (again) with chicken tikia
T Sticky chicken (I haven't tried it but looked nice on the website) and rice and veg

My day is not going very well. I took DS to the hospital and he got discharged as predicted. I also gave him his Xbox back (been without it for weeks) and he instantly turned into the little monster he was when he last had it. Seriously, today is my first day at home with DC and already I've had more than I can take. Ther are just out to wind me up, I'm sure of it.

I could take them out to the park or something but I just don't have the energy and I don't see why I should take them somewhere nice when they are just being horrid.

I had a big bowl of chocolate curl clusters for breakfast. Not SW I know but a nice change to weetabix.

I've got some decorating to do and loads of usual housework but i don't want to do anything. I would prefer to go back to bed tbh. DC were up at 6am this morning demanding my attention so I guess I need a bit more sleep. Sorry to moan, but its either that or batter DC Grin. At least my lovely dog is being good. Oh yeah, that reminded me. DS rushed outside to retrieve a water balloon that he dropped out of the window (it didn't pop). But in his rush, he didn't shut the door or the front gate and my precious puppy got out. I was really shaking as I rushed out to get him (which I did) and it took me ages to calm down afterwards.

Right, I'm off to think happy cheery thoughts to try and brighten my mood. It couldn't get any worse so I have nothing to lose!

Hedgepig · 01/08/2011 13:07

kid DS1 (7) is the same with his Wii he just gets so adsorbed with it and then turns into this horror. He is also obsessed with "going out in the street" with his mates and gets horribly stroppy if I say no its Sunday evening you are not going out (even though none of his mates are out either!). And like the puppy he keeps leaving the door open so his little brother (2) can get out arggggg. I have no answers I'm afraid, how old are your DCs?

kid · 01/08/2011 13:14

DD is 12 and DS is 9
They can be nice but its usually only when they want something!

Hedgepig · 01/08/2011 14:20

so a bit older than mine. I'm at work today and DS1 is at holiday camp and shorty (ds2) is at nursery so it is lovely and calm until I pick them up. Hopefully you have got some peace and quiet kid.

I am so hungry (and bored ) today I have loads of stuff to do but can't be bothered

grinningbee · 01/08/2011 15:12

Ooooh Slinky can't wait to see how you've done on Wednesday - well done Grin

Ria I'd imagine being married to a chef would be a nightmare. Not wanting to cook, but does he judge yours? I do hope not!

Kid Yay for the better hand, but boo to the xbox monster. Rant away if it helps Smile

Hedgepig I thought that sticky chicken looked nice too. Can you let me know how it is when you've tried it?

I was wearing the new size 18 jeans yesterday, instead of the 22's I was in the last time they all saw me, and not a baggy top either Angry Hey ho. I don't care now. As someone else said, it's not them I'm doing it for.

The car did indeed sound like a tractor this morning. I took it to a garage and got it fixed GrinGrin They guy said the exhaust fell apart when he touched it. Ha ha ha!

I feel like a real human being today. While the car was being fixed I chanced taking both dc into Costa Coffee on my own for the first time. Amazingly, neither had a meltdown until I had finished, and dd had a massive chocolate brownie and babychino without lobbing it all everywhere. It was sooooo nice to get out of the house. Sad, aren't I.

Right. Need to motivate myself now to hang some washing, put some more on, hoover, wash up and make some meatballs.

Blush sorry for the long post Blush

OP posts:
kid · 01/08/2011 15:49

I'm feeling ill again, I thought I was better Sad
Dc are playing out. I can't see them but I can bloody hear them! Hopefully there won't be any trouble because I can't be bothered to go out there today. Dd even has my keys so I don't have to keep getting up to let them in.
Dh won't be home from work until 8pm so I can laze about for a few hours longer. Then I can do a quick run round with the hoover and duster and iron a couple of shirts. That will make it look like I've been busy today Grin

I've been repairing the banister that my dog ate. God help him if he does it again!
I'm wearing my 16 jeans toddy, they are a bad fit now which is good but I still don't want to part with them just yet!

Riasdragonflytattoo · 01/08/2011 17:48

I am wearing my hideous fat jogging bottomsSad, though I have risked a vest top. It was a huge achievement getting dressed at all today, and I brushed my teeth! Don't think my hair and the hairbrush have been acquainted thoughBlush. Feeling ever-so-slightly pants today. Too much activity yesterday or the cursed ADs? GP appt on Thursday.

It is a nightmare being married to a chef. It was easier when I used to work with him! My food is usually classed as "edible" or "it's food"Hmm, the kids are worse TBH "daddy doesn't make it like this"... I think that is why I have put on so much weight and am stuck in a food rut - Neither of us "enjoy food" as such because it is such a big part of life in other ways IYSWIM.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 01/08/2011 17:54

the long hours aren't great either. I am on my own with the boys most of the time, and have to stay up late to see him some days. (Also, he spends so much time at work his time at home is pretty much an non-event of sitting down or having a bath). I maybe being a bit mean, but he said I had been "a bit ruthless" in the garden yesterday (should have done it himself then!)

My DS2 and 3 are playing out too kids, and like you, I can hear them. They whizz pass the kitchen window from time to time. Am not that keen on them doing it, but

sorry for miseryBlush

Riasdragonflytattoo · 01/08/2011 20:00

hi again. hope I didn't kill the thread with my miseryBlush. Been for a bit of a walk, and had a bizarre chat with the gay guy in the corner shop (always cheers me upGrin), feeling pants, but smiling pants now!

Anyhow, have been reading my July mag, and this is one of the blogs by the lady who lost 10st 5.5lb. Also know of another blog from an old thread, will see if I can find it as it's pretty good for recipes...

Riasdragonflytattoo · 01/08/2011 20:13

is this that which they call "the sparkly place"? There seems to be recipes, but it's not what I was looking for...

Riasdragonflytattoo · 01/08/2011 20:26

another blog...

Riasdragonflytattoo · 01/08/2011 20:42

woohoo! found it www.slimmingeats.com/blog/here (thanks Melty if you're still around)

timidviper · 01/08/2011 20:50

I made the "Sweet Potato with mango salsa and chilli dip" off the SW website the other night, that was very nice indeed.

Didn't have time to pop in and post to you all last week but despite my weekend away I still lost 1.5lb at weigh-in on Wed :) That took me to 17.5lb in 4 weeks which I am really pleased with. Have been reasonably good this week so am hoping for a loss again.

Only negative point is I am feeling really miserable and have no idea why. It shouldn't be the eating plan as it is far more healthy than the way I was eating previously but I do feel very low, maybe it's my hormones, who knows?!

Hedgepig · 01/08/2011 21:42

Thanks Ria they look like some great links.
Bee sticky chicken was yummy I did it with egg fried (well in spray oil) rice. The DCs refused to eat it but that ment there was more for me
I an totally knackered so I'm off to get some sleep night all Zzzzzzzzzzz

kid · 01/08/2011 21:54

Thanks for that link Rias, I really need to get cooking some healthy meals again as I am being very naughty at the moment.
For dinner, I had a cornetto Blush
In my defence, I'm not feeling well but I still cooked for DH and DC, I just didn't fancy eating it so was going to go with out. But then I remembered there was one icecream left in the freezer and everyone else would argue over it, so I saved the day!

I'm meant to be going gym tomorrow night but I'm not sure if I'm up to it. Last Sunday, I alsmost fainted during class as I hadn't eaten properly and I skipped class this Sunday as I was feeling ill. Maybe if I manage to eat well tomorrow I could still go?

grinningbee · 02/08/2011 08:51

Hope you feel better soon Kid. Thanks for the links Ria I shall have a nosey later with a cuppa. Good to know about the sticky chicken too Hedgepig thank you. I'll give that a go next week I think.

Day of Doom here today. I think it'll be ok, but certainly not as much as last week.

I may have to eat a piece of cake for the first time in 9 weeks tomorrow. It's my dad's birthday so I'll be going over to see him with the dc. I don't suppose it will hurt, having avoided any chocolate biccies and cake for this long!

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangles on toast, and apple and a yogurt
Leftover pork meatballs and broccoli

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 02/08/2011 09:04

Morning all

Get well soon kid
thanks for those links ria good to have new ideas!

I'm not going to weigh in tomorrow as I'll be at my mums but if people pm me, I'll do the list tomorrow early evening!

bee one piece of cake won't hurt, you have been so good.

We're off to the park to enjoy the sun. Can continue to improve my tan Smile.
Food:
B: fruit, yog and branflakes
L: salad, chicken
D: sweet chilli pork stirfry.

grinningbee · 02/08/2011 15:37

Gosh it is quiet in here today. Have you all melted??? Grin

I am about to hoover, for which I must be mad, because it is too hot and dd will only go and throw crumbs around as soon as I've done it!

OP posts:
grinningbee · 02/08/2011 16:18

Oh yuck.

So, dd has just thrown a yogurt across the floor while I was hoovering. Whilst on my hands and knees she does something she has never done before.

I go to get her out of her highchair and she is holding her hand up. I ask what is on it. She says "poo mummy". And she had wiped it down her leg too.

Just gross.

How I wish it was 7pm!!

OP posts:
SlinkyB · 02/08/2011 16:46

I'm here bee (although not for long by the sounds of the baby monitor).

Ew, yuck and gross for the poo incident - is this what I have to look forward to?!

On a different note, I've decided to base my weekly menu on yours as you're doing so well, so am having Weetabix for breakfast and cheese triangles on toast for lunch. Which triangles do you use? Made the mistake of buying Laughing Cow Extra Light and they're so bland and hard. Think I'll stick to just the light ones as they're much creamier, and take the hit on the calories/fat. God, I'm dull.

It's way too hot for housework today - win-win then! Wink

kid · 02/08/2011 17:13

I'm here and yes I'm melting!
Everywhere I look their is work to be done so I thought I'd better make an effort and get the jobs done.
I started on the kitchen as that was the cleanest to start with. I then moved on to the living room and its looking lovely now, just need to hoover it. I was meant to be going gym class at 6:30 but after all that housework and after being ill for a few days, I have decided to cancel the class and will get back to it on Sunday.

I'm about to start dinner but I don't know what to make! I got some stewing beef out of the freezer this morning but I know DH won't want a stew and I don't blame him. So, am stuck on what to do for dinner as I haven't got anything else out. Oh well, plenty of takeaways in the area if need be Grin

I 'checked' my weight this morning and lets just say, the lack of exercise and the over eating is evident. I suppose the fact I lost 7lb over 2 weeks should help ease the disaster. I think I'll give DoD a miss tomorrow lol

kid · 02/08/2011 17:54

Panic over, I'm making 'Sweet Onion Braised Beef with Cheesy Baked Sweet Potato and Carrot Mash' from that link Ria posted.
Unfortunately you are meant to cook the beef in the slow cooker for 8 hours or so but I only have 2 hours max before DH and DC starve so will do it on the hob in that time.
I'll let you know how it goes.

kid · 02/08/2011 19:04

my verdict on the meal, very nice indeed and very easy to make too.
DS didn't like the 'orange stuff' but he ate most of it Grin
